Best Repair/Replacement in Washington DC

Mr. Jenkins removed and repaired my toilet last week. He was fast, reliable and very professional. He was in and out so fast and made sure there was no mess to clean for me. His price was unbeatable. The quality of work is outstanding. I will use him again and again.

I have used Super Plumber twice: once to replace an old convection a/c unit and a second time to replace an old, rusted disposal and install new faucets and a new water filter. He was responsive and did a complete job with a discount. He was completely trustworthy. We did the a/c installation which took several days when we were not present.

In my case I was preparing my condo for sale and needed a plumbing inspection I could not be present to review. The 4 Fast representative came to my place, conducted the inspection, filled out the paperwork, and texted me an image of the final form. Their willingness to work with me and around the scheduled sale of my home made a huge difference! I highly recommend them for all your plumbing needs.

The technician, John, arrived on time and evaluated the problem - our water heater was no longer functional. John removed the old unit and installed a new, comparable, unit. The job took about three hours, which is what had been predicted. At all time John was courteous and informative. He left the premises neat & clean

The good: Our mainline clogged and Rotorooter got here within a few hours (way faster than our normal plumber was able to) to snake and clear it, although they didn't do a thorough job and had to come a few days later to snake again. To their credit, they came promptly and didn't charge us, which is appreciated.The bad: they did a camera inspection of the mainline and told us that the pipe was horrible and needed to be replaced like yesterday and we'd need to jackhammer up our finished basement and dig up our front yard and they could do all this for the low low price of $21k! Now, I'm not spending $21k without a second opinion. I tried to get the video of the pipe from Rotorooter, but they couldn't provide it even though I paid for the service. So I called our normal plumber out to do a second video inspection (which cost me an additional $1k). They said our pipe looked totally fine and that no replacement work was needed. They said that if replacement work was needed, that a trenchless system would work way better, with significantly less disruption than digging up the old pipe and at significantly lower cost. I feel like Rotorooter was a bit dishonest in trying to push us into an expensive repair that wasn't necessary.All this to say, if you get a proposal from Rotorooter for a big job, get a second opinion.

From start to finish the customer service Sila provided was superb. When initially calling the representative who answered quickly got me set up with an appointment next and our technician, Tyler, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything he was doing, answered all of our questions, and gave us grounded and thoughtful advice on how to take care of and service our HVAC system. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I called Plumber in DC this morning after the tenants in our basement apartment informed us that their toilet was blocked up. Plumber in DC told us that a plumber would be dispatched within an hour or two if we would pay a $200 emergency fee. We agreed to the fee. Two hours later, Plumber in DC texted that it had accidentally doubled booked our plumber and that we would have to wait another two hours for him to complete another job before he could come do ours. I texted back and asked if I would still have to pay the emergency fee since we were not be treated as an emergency. Plumber in DC then called me and berated me over the phone, angrily telling me in a loud voice that, yes, we would still have to pay the fee and that I needed to remember that the customer is not always right. And that is a quote. He literally would not let me get a word in edgewise, yelling at me over the phone while my family sat around me listening and absolutely stunned by his behavior.

Were it not for our tenants, we would have cancelled the appointment right then and there and used the bathroom at our local McDonald's for the evening while we looked for another plumber. But we would not do that to our tenants. So we tolerated the behavior and did not cancel.

When the plumber arrived, he was from a company in Fredericksburg, Virginia -- 50 miles and more than an hour from DC. He told us it would cost $550 on top of the $200 emergency fee before he would even begin to snake the pipe. Again, at this point we had little choice but to agree. The plumber worked for about 1.5 hours, charged us $750, and told us afterwards that while the blockage was clear for now he couldn't guarantee the work because he wasn't sure if he'd actually fixed the problem.

So we are out $750 for 1.5 hours of work with no guarantee.

In sum, consumers should be aware that Plumber in DC is not a DC plumbing company -- it is a dispatching operation for plumbers all over the region. It is also very expensive, incredibly rude to its clients, and does not guarantee its work. Never again.
