I had a very positive experience tonight with one of your plumbers. We had an emergency plumbing incident on our property to where the main sewer line was backed up. Your company sent Samuel out to clear our main sewer line. He was 100% professional all the way and told me what to do moving forward after he left. Such as to clean the drain pits and not use the toilet until the caulk settles. Samuel more than earned his money with us. He is very warm, caring, friendly and compassionate. He is always welcome back on our property.The main sewer line somehow got backed up again. Your company honored its guarantee 100%! I was very pleased and happy with your response! This time you sent Joseph out! He is a lovely gentleman and a fine human being. He came out and acted like a true professional in every way. He explained to me what his concerns as a professional were regarding the hardness he encountered when breaking up the stoppage in the main sewer line! I was extremely pleased and impressed with him. It isn't just money, he truly cares about serving his customers with care, compassion, and professionalism. I will be taking your recommendation to have a camera go down the main sewer line. Issac (2009) was our service provider and he did a fantastic job. We had a clogged toilet that required snaking. Issac took his time diagnosing the problem, even checking the outside drain that meets the main sewer line. He arrived earlier than scheduled and finished up quickly.We were very pleased with the service and quick response time.

Had a bad plumbing experience but the work provided by Jason, Justin and Corey made the experience much easier. They explained everything and showed great professionalism. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!

We had a troublesome outdoor drain with a stubborn clog that was backing into our basement on a Saturday afternoon. Our service technician was Issac (Employee ID #2009). We woke up on Tuesday to a cold shower and discovered that our pilot light had gone out and wouldn't stay lit. We called Roto Rooter to come do a diagnostic check on our water heater. They sent a technician later that day, during our preferred time period. The technician was extremely polite and thoroughly explained the issue and proposed way to fix the issue. He quickly replaced the part and ensure that the hot water was running before he left. I would definitely recommend Roto Rooter for same day service. Thanks!

Very good experience with Roto-rooter. We had a block in the main sewer line the day after Thanksgiving when family was visiting--terrible timing! Called Roto-rooter and got an answer right away; they dispatched technician Tin (2648) who arrived within 2 hours. Tin was very professional worked diligently to diagnose and try to fix the problem over several hours. In the end, he showed me that after cleaning the main sewer line, there was still standing water in the line, indicating the problem was with the county. Tin called the emergency line for the county and arranged for someone to come the same day. No charge since we were under warranty from a previous call.

Went to do laundry and discovered water all over my basement floor - the drain line was clogged. Called the 24-hr line and they had a tech come out the same day, before the scheduled time! He tested the drain lines to see where the clog may be before discussing service price for the service needed. (He didn't try to charge me before assessing the situation.) He unclogged the line and made sure it was fixed before having me test the line myself to ensure my satisfaction. He provided his business card and advised there is a 6 month warranty against it clogging again. He was very cordial, well-mannered, and professional. I will say - make sure to take care of your plumbing as having things fixed isn't cheap! Haha!

Roto Rooter went WAY above and beyond my expectations to help me out when our basement was literally up to our ankles in sewage waste water. Not only did Van arrive at house just outside of DC in less than 30 minutes from the time I called for help, he spent hours making sure the job got done properly, even going so far as to call his water remediation team out and the county whose property the clog was on. I cannot say enough great things about Paul and the water remediation duo, Justin and Justin, either. They spent time helping me file an insurance claim and have been there every step of the way with answers to all of my questions and concerns. THANK YOU ROTO ROOTER team!!!!

I've never had a bad experience with Roto-Rooter. In fact, they've always help me out when needed. All the techs are skilled and friendly.

We had a sewer drain back up. Plumber came and snaked it. He didn’t find anything. Then he said snaking a drain is a flat rate of 661.00! He was there under two hours!!! I was never told that when I called. I gave him a check for 350.00 which is still ridiculous. He also took away the guarantee. Terrible experience.

We had a sewage backup at 6:15 in the evening. By 7:30 there was a tech at my home. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. He snaked through the sewage line and found tree roots blocking the line and broke them up. We were very happy with the service and will use Roto Rooter again.

Van Linga (3157) came to our house and did a really great job. It was complicated, and involved removing and replacing the toilet in the basement. He fixed the problem completely and cleaned up everything very well. I think the price was reasonable given the time and effort involved. Thank you sir!

Roto-rooter saved the day. I recently purchased an older home and experienced several mysterious clogs. Had it snaked once with a handyman but the problem kept reappearing. Finally, gave Roto-rooter a call and the whole process was great. The customer service rep was nice and explained that I was getting the best and cost effective option. I got worried when she said two different guys needed to come out. One to clear the drain and another to inspect the pipe using the camera. She explained to me its already included in the price. Dama Fanai and Robert came to the house. They called when they were outside and were very courteous and polite. Both men seemed very knowledgeable and knew a lot about how plumbing in my house was probably designed. They explained my options and quoted me a price from the list. I was also able to use a web coupon. 30 minutes later, Dama and Robert were packing up and letting the water run to make sure the line was clear. Great experience and I would use Roto-rooter again!

We had a technician come over to clear out a clogged shower drain. He quoted us $800. When I said, no way -- he then quoted $400. I did not accept the estimate and he left. Got my regular plumber to come by and he did it for $145. Be careful!

Technician 34221 Chan date of service 4/18/2017. Chan did an out standing job he did not find a blockage but snaked the line more than 60 feet. He also made a report to DC Water and Sewer and he order a camera to view the line. I greatly appreciate all of his efforts.

Roto-Rooter Service: 08/16/2015 - Emergency call for the shut off valve to main line of the house. work was preformed well, I just hate price gouging. $400 for 2 hours of a technicians time and $20 worth of parts is steep. I know I could have gotten WSSC to shut off the water and turn it back on for $130, and it might have cost me $70 in tools and materials. So I guess I paid $200 for an emergency and convenience.

The plumbers did what they had to, but nothing more. So, the problem was resolved in less than 20 minutes and I paid over $630 for the work. The pricing was transparent. That is not the issue. The issue is that given how quick it was resolved and that I pointed out some other possible problems, the people that came out could have offered to look into the other issues that I mentioned. They did not. In 20 minutes, they were gone. Good for them. It comes out to a nice profit for Roto-Rooter, but not A+ service.

The plumber James Lian Tech #2629 did a great job and handled quickly. Also, Jason Nelson, Restoration Specialist was very efficient, professional and quite helpful and sent a team out to service water damage the same day and did a great job.

John tech #1275 did a great job. He correctly assessed the problems and layout of the driveway drainage system at my new house. He was able to clear the drain of excess debris, mud, and roots and get it flowing again.

Amazing Service! We had an overflow in our basement over the weekend and they came right away. Be sure to tell the plumber if you have a coupon ahead of time or they'll give you an excuse about why they can't use it.They're decent plumbers, but expensive (as most are). They showed up after the designated window and when we called to ask about their arrival, the office didn't pick up the phone. They completed the service quickly, but then refused to accept a valid coupon when presented at the time of payment. Apparently we had to mention it as soon as the plumber walked in the door, even though we left it right next to the sink he was working on. He then blamed us for not knowing the company policy.Nowhere on the coupon did it say that you had to present it before service, just at some point during the service. They tried to say that most of their customers don't use coupons or don't want to use them. If true, that's fine, but not everyone has that money to burn and as someone on a budget, saving that $55 goes a long way.In fact, they even admitted they don't ask for coupons because they want to charge people as much as possible.Use a different company. These people are not that good (or cheap) that they can be as condescending as they were. I'd rather use a company that actually respects their customers.

Thank goodness for Jeff # 1174 of Roto Rotor.He Reinstalled my old stove which supposed to be replaced with a new one but the delivery men didn't know how to MEASURE, LEFT the old stove uninstalled and took the new stove🙀🙀🙀..Jeff saved the day by giving me enough time to talk to the delivery manager 🙄🙄🙄they gave him the green light to reinstall the old stove now I can FEED MY 10 CHILDREN..🤗🤗🤗

I called the company to send out a plumber. He did arrive quickly which is the only positive. he did not fix the problem and charged me $450 I have called several times and always told someone will call me back and still hasn’t. He told me if he didn’t fix it, it would cost 157. I can’t get a hold of anyone to get a refund. So now I’m out 450 and still have a broken toilet..

Outstanding service .... starting from the phone call to make the appointment to completion of the work. The plumber was on time, knowledgeable, honest and professional. He took time to find out the issue and explain what was wrong. He also explained how he was going to fix the problem. I requested him use a camera to show me the problem since I have done similar work and failed. He was confident that he was going to be able to fix it himself yet he also ordered the camera for the next morning. Another person came with the camera the next morning as promised. They both did exactly what they said they were going to do. It was very impressive, neat, honest and professional service. I highly recommend them !!!

Had a major clog in my kitchen sink on a Friday night! I needed someone to come out immediately! Roto-rooters service technician, Lal Sailo, came to my house at 9:00 at night and had the clog fixed within 45 minutes. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient!

So I call DC's Rotor Rooter at 3PM. We'll have somebody there by 5PM I'm toldNOTI call and call to be continually told we're next, right up until 9:30 !! SIX AND A HALF HOURS.So at 9:30 PM I get a courtesy call telling me that we're still next, but it might be another hour. Screw that.I ask Can you guarantee we'll be first in line tomorrow?Yes, you will be the first call in the morning. A truck will be there between 8AM and 9AM.It's now after 11 AM, and no truck, BUT we're getting the same run around as the day before: You're next, somebody will be there in an hour.We've called somebody else.~~~~~~~~~~As it turns out, the technician showed up around noon. He was fabulous.Also, later the scheduling woman called to apologize, and gave me a 30% discount/refund on the job.It was VERY frustrating getting somebody there, but when they did, the job was well done, and I was remunerated some for the inconvenience.Good stuff.

Took a day from work for two leaky faucets. Plumber tells me he must rebuild my kitchen faucet -$250.00. I give you a discount. He replaced the washers. Faucet #2 he cannot repair because - I'm just a plumber. You must move furnace to get to back pipes. This without removing a knob, just LOOKING at it! NEVER AGAIN.

This was my first using Roto-Rooter. I had heard about them before, and found their number on their website. Upon calling, I was pleasantly greeted immediately, and was able to schedule an appointment the same day. As promised, I received a call 30 minutes before the appointment to reconfirm. The technician, Rosiam (4450) arrived on time and wore shoe covers to protect my floors. He was very courteous and professional. He got the work done quickly and completely, and provided diagnosis on where I may need future work. I really appreciate Rosiam and Roto-Rooter, and look forward to doing business with them again.

Had an emergency repair. Service person was nice and fixed the issues, which were relatively minor. I never received an estimate before the work and was surprised by the amount I was charged for the work that was done. Reported my concerns but never heard back. Won’t use this company again.

I was given a $816 quote and denied. They offered a free video service of the clog. My technician did not speak english to well, gave RR a call back to make sure what was being done was a free service. The representative on the phone confirmed the service was free and what the technician was doing was correct. Once the technician completed the so called video I had a bill of $695. Why is that??? I then called RR back stating my issue and was told the representative gave me wrong information. Even though the technician was really nice, despite the language barriers, I will never use nor recommend them to anyone.

We have an older house and the drains get slow on a regular basis. Our disposal sometimes decides to act like a water fountain and shoot everything back into the sink after we run it. :P I thought maybe we needed to get the main line cleaned out. Jeff (1174) looked at all the drains, explained what he thought was the best solution, and took care of it. He was professional, and I also appreciated the convenience of being able to schedule the appointment online and getting a phone call 30 minutes before he arrived. The only thing I didn't like was the price: $460!! He said it would have cost $525 to clean out the sewer line. I thought that cleaning out the pipe below the kitchen sink should have cost a lot less than that, relatively.

I filed a complaint with the BBB against Roto Rooter. Roto Rooter sent a plumber whose first name begins with a Z (herein referred to as Plumber Z) to inspect the leaky knob in the tub. Upon Plumber Z’s arrival and inspection of the leaky knob, twice, I asked Plumber Z the cost of repair. Plumber Z's eyes rolled left then he looked up into the air and quoted me a price of $1,000. My jaws dropped to the floor as I was in shock! I asked Plumber Z to explain how he had come to the price of $1,000. Plumber Z stated I like to replace the entire pipe and cut out the drywall. After getting over my initial shock and disbelief, I vehemently disagreed with Plumber Z's assessment. I asked why it would be necessary to cut through an acrylic bathtub to the drywall just to replace a diverter cartridge! Plumber Z then looked at the parts I had purchased for the tub (from Home Depot) and stated that since I had purchased a faucet and knob, the cost now would be $900. I threw Plumber Z off my property. I contacted Emerald Plumbing Company (EPC) and paid $262 for everything. In my contentious conversation with Supervisor T.H., I mentioned throwing Plumber Z out of my rental property. In a surprised tone, Supervisor T.H., repeated my statement and asked why I threw out his plumber. I replied Because I refuse to be swindled.

Ok so where do I start...my mother just redid her living room and dining areas when she sprung a leak in her upstairs bathroom. Now first she had it unclogged and then the massive leaking started then we stopped the leak and then the ceiling started to leak.....for two days my mom cried it’s just me and her so we didn’t have a clue what to do. Rent had just been paid utilities all done and now a $6000 issue!!!!!!!!! I had to try something so I called Roto-Rooter let me just say “JAMAL BYRD #4926” is the man!!! Not only did he help he was as professional and considerate as any contractor I’ve ever met. He helped my mom with filing a claim through her home insurance which may seem easy but we didn’t even think of it during our time of need. Our sewer main outlet was clogged. The first technician cleared the dirt that clogged it from out side but the problem happened again after a week. The company sent another professional called Angeleo and he cleared it from inside. I appreciate the company for solving the problem both times and sending its professionals the same day we called them. This staff Angeleo is excellent in his profession and very friendly. Kam was my technician. He was absolutely awesome! He came to my house in a timely fashion, which is definitely a plus. He appropriately diagnosed my problem with minimal damage to my dry wall (damage was done only for assessment). He offered practical and affordable solutions to my problem. Had a clog kitchen sink. Decided to call Roto Rooter. Isaac arrived promptly at the beginning time window. We negotiated the price and then he ran the snake down the drain and cleared the clog. He had some difficulty reassembling the under counter connections but persisted. Unfortunately, after he left, I noticed water seeping into my basement. According to Roto, the snake weakened/broke an old cast iron fitting. The next day another Roto Rooter plumber came to try to diagnose/figure out the problem. They cut out the back of the cabinets and discovered the leaking joint. Alas, the solution is to remove the cabinets, marble countertop and cut out the broken pipe. Roto was willing to start work right away, but I decided it would be best to put it out for bid. I don't deal with a lot of plumbers, but the two I dealt with were polite and professional.

I contacted Roto-Rooter via phone. Representative on phone very friendly, helpful and efficient. Found that they had been here before. They had an opening on the day I called. I was told I'd receive a text when the technician would arrive. In less than 5 minutes I received the text and in less than 1/2 hour the technician, Lal Sailo, arrived. Mr. Sailo worked with me on a price which we agreed upon. He too was very friendly, professional and efficient. He also gave me a bottle of a product that I use twice a month to keep my drains flowing. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter and especially Lal Sailo for all of your plumbing needs.

Root Rooter is always our first call for repairs. The Plumber (Mr. lal Sailo) arrived very quick after the call. We had 2 leaking shut off valves under the kitchen sink and a bad mixing valve in the sink faucet (that I had tried to replace). The Roto-Rooter office I used was located in Baltimore not Washington DC. The technician, Joseph #5423 was marvelous!!!! We had a clogged waste line. He arrived ahead of time after calling me to say they would be early (great!). He explained all that would be done and the cost and also recommended a liquid treatment to be used in the pipes each month. He completed the job within an hour and everything was clean and fixed. I would highly recommend this service and will use it in the future. In fact, I have used Roto-Rooter two previous times and have been very pleased. Thanks Roto-Rooter!

Langh#3650 is very professional. He arrived in less than after I called the service in. He knows what he is doing and explained what process he needed to take the options. He found the problems where the water leak on the shower booth. It could cost more than 1000 dollars but he is honest to not make a big deal with the problem. I will update the repair that he has completed. I need to wait for 2 days for drying shower booth. I would recomand this company to people. Thanks for nice job!

Rotorooter's Technician, Isaac, provided excellent, thorough, and timely service on a holiday no less! Rotorooter responded to my call on New Year's Eve, and Isaac came out on New Year's Day - right at 10am, when scheduled. Isaac took the time to evaluate the problem, provide a thorough estimate, and explain the parts and what he needed to do for the repair. Isaac completed the repair efficiently and with excellent workmanship, even making sure no dust was left behind. Khai Dal was the technician who responded to my call for two clogged toilets in my home.Even though the tech didn't end up needing to do much, he was still a pleasure to work with. He was courteous and professionalMy toilets were clogged for three days, even and after 4 snakings by 2 different companies, so I called Rotor-Rooted to see what their techs could get the clog out. As a last resort, the night before the tech's visit, I tried an unclogging solution from the local home improvement which seems to have worked, as when he came out and tested both toilets and sinks everything was draining fine..

Their technician was prompt and extremely knowledgeable! He patiently explained each step of the process, and listened to our feedback and concerns and addressed them along the way. Yesterday I felt like my life flipped upside down. I went down to my basement to discover it was flooded due to a Sum Pump failure. Conrad Nelson (1635) and Robustiano from Roti-Rooter came out within an hour of calling to not only replace my sum-pump but to fix a clogged toilet as well. Jason Nelson from Roto-Rooter also came to my house to sit and explain the whole water mitigation service that Delray (1313) completed as well. I couldn't ask for a better team. They all did an amazing job and took all the stress off my shoulders. Delray and his team worked very hard. Although its not there job, they also killed a snake they discovered while walking in my house from my garage. Lucky for me they mitigated that pest issue before my 5 year old came home.(she enters the house through that same door. If i can give 10 stars i most certainly would. Thank you Roto-Rooter. I have now found a company that will always be my first choice and I would recommend to anyone.

This is not the first time that I have used Roto-Rooter for plumbing service. Appreciate the online scheduling option and email confirmation. The plumber/service technician assigned today on time and was professional, and thorough. He repaired the problem with my sump pump expeditiously and to a state which minimizes the likelihood of a repeat situation. Additionally he checked the outside drains to ensure there were no clogs and provided practical advice on how to ensure the pumps w is completed correctly the first time. Will use Roto Rooter again!

Amazingly overpriced. Ask their charges (my bad) before even bothering to schedule them. Working with various plumbers over the years I had a general idea of the charges but regret I didn't tell them to walk when they actually quoted the job. They came down in price but the job was more then twice what it should have been.

Kitchen was draining very slowly. Technician tried snaking the drain, but that did not solve the problem. He discovered that a venting piece was not functioning, so he drove to get another. New piece was bigger than old one; to install would have compromised the soap dispenser. It was late, and I asked him to stop to return the next day. He did, and brought with him an exact replacement part he'd found at a store near his home after leaving here. Back the next morning, installed and returned the sink and soap dispenser to full functioning. I am one happy camper!

My downstairs toilet was leaking, he replaced it then my upstairs clean water supply line busted after he left. I called back again and Jason (1599) and HMing (1011) came out and started the process for replacing my upstairs ceiling and drying out my carpet. They stayed a long time and I appreciate it, though I have to go thru insurance for the other clean up for replacing my ceiling and carpet cleaning. They came out with in an hour of the call.

Called Roto-Rooter after reading various reviews of other plumbing services. This is the second time I've had a sewer line block in the past year. Another contractor cleared it for me before. Called to make an appointment and they were able to see me same day. Sat Gin, was upfront and professional about the cost which was quite high ($600) to unclog the sewer line.After about 1.5 hr, the tech let me know he snaked about 95 feet and hit a block that he cleared at about 30 ft. He was clean and thorough and didn't leave a mess. He also scheduled me for a free camera inspection of my sewer lines next week.Overall pretty good, except the price which is on the higher side.

I got a pipe burst at my house . I called Roto-Rooter and specialist (Jacob) was at my door in a couple of hours. Very experienced, Jacob came down with an effective diagnosis and was able to resolve the issue the same day.

My technician, Van, was very helpful and very professional. He identified the cause of my slow bathroom drains and successfully cleared them of the blockage. He also spotted a leaky faucet and fixed the problem for an additional, but reasonable, charge. I will certainly ask for Van if I have the need for plumbing services in the future.

Serious and very sudden leak that caused major water damage, and could only be stopped by shutting off the water. Roto Rooter's quick response allowed us to cut the water back on quickly and go about our daily lives as we work to fix the damage.

Under the circumstances of minor flooding and water leaking on a Sunday morning, Roto-Rooter were the only one that showed up in a reasonable time. Thank you for the good customer service.Original Review: The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the technicians came within 2 hours of my call and properly fixed the malfunctioning elements in my water heater. However, I did not appreciate being overcharged and the attempt to upsell me. I was told over the phone that I would not be charged for an estimate. Yet, the technicians told me that the diagnostic estimate would be $95 if I did not choose to have them fix the issue. Then, I was pressured to buy a new water heater for $1200. When I declined and said I just wanted the immediate issue fixed at that time, the price I was quoted was $519 (minus a $75 discount). Being a brand-new first-time homebuyer who just moved in days ago, I am upset and feel thoroughly taken advantage of. I could have purchased a brand new water heater for the price I was charged. A call to the local office was met with little sympathy, and I was told that that's just the standard price, and all I could be offered was another $25 off. My mistake for being desperate and not doing more research, but I won't be using Roto-Rooter again.

Van is the best. He fixed my water heat in one visit that 4 other technicians could not fix. This was a tough problem. I have been a Roto Rooter customer for 6 years. They stand behind their work 100%.

Dama Fanai was my tech and did an awesome job. Found the issue immediately and was done in about an hour. Roto Rooter is a little more expensive than other companies but the customer service and quality of work is worth it.

I cannot rave enough about the professionalism of this team. They sent 3 plumbers to work tirelessly on our 1900 clogged plumbing to discover it was on the city side. They reached out to the city and it was fixed in less than 24 hours. I’ll have them on speed dial next time we have a need. Angels!!

I've used Roto Rooter before and had the same good experience: quick response from the dispatcher, along with updated arrival times; quotes that were below other plumbers; and excellent service. Min helped diagnose the problem and did terrific work. He was courteous and careful throughout.

The good: Our mainline clogged and Rotorooter got here within a few hours (way faster than our normal plumber was able to) to snake and clear it, although they didn't do a thorough job and had to come a few days later to snake again. To their credit, they came promptly and didn't charge us, which is appreciated.The bad: they did a camera inspection of the mainline and told us that the pipe was horrible and needed to be replaced like yesterday and we'd need to jackhammer up our finished basement and dig up our front yard and they could do all this for the low low price of $21k! Now, I'm not spending $21k without a second opinion. I tried to get the video of the pipe from Rotorooter, but they couldn't provide it even though I paid for the service. So I called our normal plumber out to do a second video inspection (which cost me an additional $1k). They said our pipe looked totally fine and that no replacement work was needed. They said that if replacement work was needed, that a trenchless system would work way better, with significantly less disruption than digging up the old pipe and at significantly lower cost. I feel like Rotorooter was a bit dishonest in trying to push us into an expensive repair that wasn't necessary.All this to say, if you get a proposal from Rotorooter for a big job, get a second opinion.

We had great service on a faucet that wouldn’t turn off. The tech came out at 11 PM on a weeknight. He had to come back the next day because he needed a part, but finished the job in 20 minutes. Very friendly, courteous and he was so patient with our young kids who were very curious as to what he was doing.

The worst experience ever. They were 4 hours later than the window they quoted me for arrival for an emergency service. Charged us $500 for the problem. The problem returned a week later. Now they say the work isn't covered by their guarantee so they can come back but I'll have to pay again. Will never use roto rooter again. Take your business elsewhere.

My water heater broke and leaked water in my basement. I called Roto-Rooter and they were able to send someone out the same day. The technician arrived on time and walked me through how he was going to fix the problem. The company also sent out a water mitigation rep who suggested the best way for me to go about getting repairs done and mold prevention. I took off one star because the repair took significantly longer than expected but overall I'm satisfied with the work done and service I received.

Justin and Matt arrived promptly within the expected timeframe. They set to work right away opening my foyer ceiling and doing the necessary water mitigation work. They sealed off adjoining rooms to contain the drywall dust, then did a fine job of cleaning up any mess created by their work. I hardly knew anyone had been there! The family was sharing a birthday party for our 2 year old granddaughter and my wife who share the same birthday. Around 8:PM we learned that the toilet was overflowing and would not stop running. I called a local plumber who said that the main line was stopped up and that he could not come out until the morning. In the meantime we could not use any water. True pros to the rescue. Roto-Rooter came to our house not only to unclog our drain. But they demonstrate superior competence by cleaning up a botched job by a previous service. Our laundry drain had been bedeviled by tree roots for months, fifty feet out to the city sewer line. We had called in a competing service to clear the drain for 4 hours. Bad move on our part. Plumber arrived within 3 hours after we called to request the service and stayed for over 2 hours to finish the job. He was polite and put in a lot of work to get our pipe cleared. He made sure to cover his feet before walking on the carpet, explained what was wrong and was very professional. I wish he had more materials to help with cleaning up the mess after he was finished. We ran out of towels to soak up the water. Overall it was good service.

I was really impressed with them! After both my dishwasher and my washing machine simultaneously stopped getting water, which just can’t work in a house with a newborn, I had contacted multiple plumbers that were recommended to me prior to finding Roto Rooter. One was not servicing my area (which made no sense based on their location), one seemed really unsure of what was wrong and wanted to charge a ridiculous hourly rate for a diagnostic, one said they couldn’t get my scheduled for two weeks, and the other just never answered the phone. So to Google I went. I called Roto Rooter and the woman on the phone was super nice, and really patient when my baby started crying in the background. After our conversation, someone was at my house within an hour and a half. He was also extremely nice, and worked so quickly! Both items were fixed in about 30 minutes, and STILL cheaper than what the other company would have charged me just for a diagnostic.I absolutely would recommend them. If I ever have any issues again in the future, I know who I’m calling.

I got sewer line blockage last night. Drainage backed up in the bathroom of the basement. First home buyer, no experience, no idea what to do. Called my agent for help and she recommended roto-rooter. Called them and waited for 1 hr. The two gentlemen came and fixed the sewer line blockage caused by the tree root. They were doing the service in a professional way. However they asked me for $1,200. Called my agent and she was astonished to hear the bill. For her case of emergency blockage using roto she only paid $600 for much worse cases than ours. Even the customer service manager was claiming that they charge $599 for the standard blockage.This bill is unreasonable and overcharged way too much. After contacting the customer service they agreed the charge is too high. And they are willing to refund the overcharge amount.

My washer drainage get clogging for few months, then I decided to call Roto-Rooter (i trust the large company), they send Jacob , the pleasant young man, and my problems had been solved. I'm happy with the works from this company.

Timely service but incredibly overpriced. Guy came out to fix our clogged kitchen sink and leaking garbage disposal, in total quoted us over $1,000. Knowing that price was absurd I asked how much it would be to just unclog the sink (the more pressing issue) and he said $460 for that. I told him thanks but no thanks and he dropped it to $240. Still way more than 20 minutes of service should cost but we needed the clog fixed and he was already there. We are going to replace the disposal ourselves for a much more reasonable total of $175.Update: After writing this review the company contacted me to resolve my issue. According to them I should have been charged by the hour, not service. They refunded me about half of what I was originally charged so I ended up only paying for the ~30 minutes worth of service I received. I added an extra star for this, however the company should make sure their employees are charging customers fairly up front.

I called because of a sewage backup in the basement. An hour later Lal Zaua (technician #2036) was at my door. He explained everything to me and fixed the problem quickly. Patrick Proctor, the water specialist, also came out and helped me with the insurance and clean up. I wouldn't call any other company.

Roto-Rooter was one of several companies I hired to do a big job. They were the most expensive. After several expensive attempts to fix my plumbing issue, I went with another company. They are not worth trying.

I have used them twice for uncloging a sewer line where the clog was about 60 feet out. They were prompt, communicate well , professional, and did a good job both times. But were crazy expensive. The first time was $380, then the next he asked $599. He reduced it to $499. Even at $499 that is an insane price for 1-2hrs of work. Next time I will call someone else or just rent a snake from home depot.

The time was 7:30 pm in the evening and some one responded and inquired about the nature of the problem which I explained and stressed the emergency nature of the situation. In less that 45 minutes a technician by the name of Isaac #2009# came to examine the problem. He diagnosed the problem and promised to come the next day at 10:00am to fix it. The price is bit higher but the work is professional and excellent. I would like to thank Isaac and Rooter for their promptness and professional work. I am satisfied with work.

This is my 1st week in my 1st house that I have ever bought. I have never had to call a plumbing company, but Roto Rooter was recommended by several people I know.I called Roto Rooter freaking out because the bathroom in my basement had overflowed. There was sewer water coming out of the toilet and the shower. It had flooded. The customer service rep I spoke to was very helpful and understanding to my freak out. She put in the request and tech #2158 arrived at my house about 45 mins after.The technician came in and did an inspection of the damage and the yard. He ended up snaking the drain and solving THAT part of the problem. There was a bit of a language barrier, but he helped me understand as much and as well as he could.The water restoration guy showed up right as the technician was leaving. Jason Nelson, the restoration specialist, was very very helpful. He called me several times before he made it to let me know when he'd be arriving and to assure me that he would have me taken care of tonight. He came in and ran his tests then sat me down to go over everything. The costs, the process, even assisted when it came to making the claim with my insurance company. Again, he was incredibly helpful and so friendly. He called 2 of his guys to come in and clean the bathroom and remove the damaged walls and carpet the same night.The 3rd set of people showed up about an hour after Jason left. They came in, they cleaned, cut the wet walls and carpet, set up their fans, and let me know they'd be coming back to get their equipment in the next 3-5 days. That was pretty much it for them.Now, I wait for things to dry and start the next process of rebuilding everything. All in all, I'd say I had a good experience with RR and I would recommend them to anyone having plumbing issues.

They even helped me file an insurance claim! This was my first time using Roto Rooter and I am so glad I went with them over the first company. The say they fix water issues. Apparently not sealing leaks from a conduit line. The tech that went in while I was out of town never called back. Had to chase them down. It wasn't until days later that I finally spoke with someone who said they could not help.

Conrad (#1635) came out and took care of our toilet problem! We had a leak and the toilet wasn’t draining properly. Conrad diagnosed the problem quickly and took care of us! We were planning a big mardi gras dinner on 2/09/16. Of course the kitchen sink had to back up that morning. Called roto rooter at 8 am -- by 9:30 their technician (Tin) arrived. Ours is an old house with funking plumbing. Tin had to cut and replace several sections of pipe in order to fix the problem. He was cordial, skilled, and very neat. Within 1.5 hours the job was done. Sewer Line clogged in the middle of the night. Messed with it and couldn't unclog it. Called in the morning. Jimmy (1256) came within two hours. Had a weekend emergency with a main sewage line blockage. Technician was there within the hour. Super nice guy, and very thorough. Roto-Rooter costs a bit more, but considering this was a weekend emergency call, I don't think it would cost much less calling in a local plumber on a holiday weekend. If it was a weekday, I could have probably saved $200 by using my normal local plumber. I was happy the problem was fixed so quickly, and the Roto-Rooter technician went above and beyond unclogging the main line.

4.5 Stars - I contacted Roto-Rooter DC after my normal plumber could not clear a clog in our shower drain. He suggested that since they specialize in clearing drains, they would be my best bet without having to open up the downstairs ceiling.I called right away, and was surprised to hear they could be at my house within two hours, and they were.Joseph (5423) arrived on time and was very professional - I appreciated that he covered his shoes when walking in my house. I explained to him what the other plumber has already done and he looked everything over and explained my options.What I found very interesting was that they use the most powerful snake tool around - more powerful than most local plumbers. Basically the deal was, if they could clear it, the cost would be $599. If they couldn’t, it would be the diagnostic fee of $150, and then I would at least know I had exhausted all other steps.Joseph managed to clear the drain with some effort. We have old galvanized pipes that are prone to blockages, and he gave me some tips for how to maintain them so the blockages are slower to occur, but ultimately suggested we replace them.I also found a coupon on the site and had no issues redeeming it when it was time to pay. Also! There is a 6 month warranty - so if it backs up again in that time, they will fix it for free.The half star deduction is only because the cost is very high. That said - the prompt response and resolution of our problem where others failed may be worth the price.

Called the 24-hour service line late on a Saturday night with a semi-emergency -- a leaking ice-maker line for the refrigerator that was dripping into the apartment below. They couldn't come out right away but said they'd send a truck Sunday morning. Lal, Technician #2036, showed up by the end of the window and, once on the job, labored mightily, even going to the hardware store twice to get parts that weren't loaded onto his truck. Despite spending far more time than he anticipated on the job, he stuck to the original estimate was friendly and professional, as well as competent. Two thumbs up.

Showed up faster than I thought would be possible. Between the troubleshooting and the repair, they had 3 different crews out to repair my sewer line, then had a clean up crew spend 3 days disinfecting from the backup. They bill the cleanup work directly to the insurance so I don't have to. Everybody was friendly and helpful and was there for me when I needed them. If I had to find a negative thing to say, it would only be that when the cleanup guys told me they would come, their previous stop always took longer than expected. But they always stayed as long as was necessary to get the job done. Even showing up in the snow at the end of the job to collect the last of their equipment.Prompt friendly service and everyone was super helpful. I don't ever want to have to call them again, but if I have a need, I know where to go.

I had a drain back-up on my outside drain. The tech was very quick to diagnose and snake the drain. He left the area very clean. Super happy with very fast service. I made an online appointment at 10am and the tech was here and gone by 4pm. Excellent.

I called Roto-rooter for a clogged kitchen sink. Two men showed up and worked on snaking the line for 5 hours to no avail. They were willing to stay beyond 8:30 on Friday night and keep trying but we were all exhausted and they turned over the job to another crew for the next morning. I was charged nothing...Saturday morning a new plumber showed up and was able to get the sink unclogged within 2 hours. I was only charged the amount I was quoted the previous day. Quality company!!! Dal, the technician arrived within 1 hour as promised even though he had to come to District Heights from Jessup. He offered the least expensive option, which was snaking, and it worked. The whole process was less than 1/2 hour. I was hesitant to use Roto-Rooter because I thought they would be too expensive but nobody else could promise a quick appointment. They were fast and matched another estimate with no problem. I will definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

Roto-Rooter in partnership with Home Depot came out within an hour of a dishwasher installation gone awry. Valve replaced in about 30 minutes. Our plumber was professional and responsive.

My washing machine was backing up into my wash drain. I tried snaking it myself with no luck. Roto Rooter came out to diagnose it. I definitely like the upfront pricing, based on the job, not per hour. My technician, Lal, was very nice and professional. He explained everything he was doing. He ended up having to get a larger snake from his vehicle, which did the trick (the clog was about 40 feet down the pipe). He also cleaned my sink where all the dirty water was backing up, so I went down to a totally clean laundry room afterwards. I'm very happy with the service and will definitely call them for any future issues.

My experience was very good and I am sure if you hire Roto Rooter you will see why. We had a bathroom faucet leak, of course on a Friday night, and Roto Rooter was the only company to answer and even accommodate us by coming out the same night. All the other numbers I called were not able to do this. The customer service is good and the technicians are professional. I know they have overhead cost and won’t make money charging normal prices but this place has “atrocious” costs for everything down to changing a popped chain on the inside of the toilet. Ridiculously, I repeat ridiculously overpriced for jobs that take 1-2 min to diagnose, 2-3 minutes to perform and another 2-3 minutes to complete invoice so a less than 10 minute job and you want “hundreds” of dollars. Nahh!!!

The stem in our shower broke and I was unable to turn off the water. I called Roto-Rooter and the plumber arrived within one hour. Khiangte (7909), the plumber, was very professional and clearly explained the problem to me. He replaced the stem and caulked around the shower knob plate. From calling to repair, the whole process took only 2.5 hours.

We had a toilet back up and the waste coming up thru our brand new shower. When we went down stairs, water was coming thru the ceiling. We assumed it was from the overflowing toilet. Called RotoRooter and was given a 4 hour window. It took longer for the tech to arrive but we were called twice to update us of the delay. When he got here, Zo Choper #1547, checked everything and gave us 2 options with prices as to how to find and clear clog. When he checked damage in the basement, he informed us that the seal on the toilet had failed as well.In less than an hour, he had removed toilet, cleared clog and replaced seal. He took great care to clean up the water and not track any mess thru the house. Will use Roto Rooter again.Very happy with the service and will use them again.

Had a sewer line back up. Roto Rooter was able to provide the quickest service at about $100 higher than other service providers. No real quibble with that, though they charge by the job rather than the hour, which can rate out to unbelievably high rates. The technician wasn't sure if my line was completely unclogged so recommended me for a scoping, which is complimentary service apparently in certain circumstances. Pipes are very old so curious what the camera would reveal, so agreed. I was given an 8-12 slot. Called at 11:35 to check status and was told, only then, that the tech had been diverted that morning to an emergency job and was running behind and that it wasn't clear when he would be here, but maybe 1-2 hours. It was a total guess and an extraordinary lapse on the dispatcher's part not to provide the information in the morning at the time of the rerouting.

Called Roto Roofer when discoveredwater leaking under the sink on a Saturday afternoon. I had great Service from the very beginning --,starting with the Service Call to the completion of the job. Less than two hours after placing the call, Min #1461, Plumber, arrived at my residence. Min was the most pleasant person. He diagnosed the problem immediately after showing him the problem. He explained to me the problem and how he would be resolving the problem. He is very knowledgeable and professional in his position. Having employees like Min will keep Customers calling back for services. I'm so very pleased with Min's performance with resolving my problem, I will want Min to service any plumbing issues that I may have in the future.

We callled Roto Rooter and Shal arrived within a couple of hours. Shal was very polite and knew what needed to be done right away. He showed my adult son , step by step what he was doing to resolve the problem. Very nice, informative, polite and knowledgeable = Shal

I just bought a new home and needed the back flow valve replaced. Khiangte (#7909) was able to come and look at the valve the same day I called. He promptly got the part and replaced the valve the next morning. Khiangte was very professional and friendly, and got the job done quickly. I will definitely call him again if I need future plumbing work.

Khai arrived around 4pm, and worked diligently on a more difficult than expected drain problem until nearly 11. He was courteous and extremely hard working throughout the night. I wish every home maintenance professional could provide service in such an excellent fashion.

I called Roto-Rooter this morning around 9:30 and they gave me a 1:30 appointment. Within the hour they called back saying that techs were on their way. My techs, Van and Kima were par excellence!! They were so friendly, cheerful, helpful, and informative! And the price they quoted was fair. They worked quickly and were able to clear the clog in my toilet in 15-20 minutes. AND, they even cleaned my toilet afterwards, which was a rather unpleasant mess from the nasty clog. I would've never expected to receive such excellent service from a franchise. I will certainly keep Roto-Rooter on speed dial for any other plumbing issues.

Saturday afternoon main sewer line back-up -- good times. Our regular plumber was not available, so we called Roto-Rooter. Our technician Joseph (5423) was very courteous and efficient in clearing our line and explaining the problem. Not the least expensive option for plumbing service, but available when needed! They provide coupons, too.

Okay, not sure why everyone is giving 3 out of 3 here? I had Roto Rooter come out to snake the main pipe at my house and yes, they did the work satisfactorily. The issue was with their pricing. It was extremely expensive for a 10 minute job. Then the guy who did the work said he was going to add some plastic piece to the toilet that I wasn't aware was needed. It was a small plastic part and I though he was doing me the favor but he ended up charging me for the part and labor.Oh, the technician made a mess of my bathroom were the snaking was performed and left without asking to clean it up. You could imagine what the mess was....

I called rota rooter this morning and spoke with them, and they sent a technician right away. Joesph #5423 was excellent. He came in got straight to work and explained as he went through everything. My experience was very good and I would. Hoose roto rooter again.

Called Roto-Rooter day before Thanksgiving at 3:30 pm for a drain problem stinking up the house. Van (tech. 3628) came in less than an hour and fixed the basement drainage motor that had gotten tangled up in less than an hour. He was fast, courteous, and knew what he was doing. Very impressed with the service. Would highly recommend.

We have been having a smell in our basement and needed a fix. We called Roto-Rooter and Khiangte came out to help us. He was very courteous and even put on shoe covers before talking around the house so that he did not track dirt around. Khiangte explained the possible problems and possible solutions and made sure that we fully understood our options. We chose to have main sewer drain cleaned, which included a camera inspection, which should be very helpful since we weren’t able to locate a drain in our basement. We have yet to have the camera inspection, but are very happy with the service we received from Khiangte.

We had a pipe freeze and burst over the weekend of New Years. Luckily, Roto Rooter was able to get us in and help us fix the problem. Patrick, our first point of contact, was great. He explained the whole process, provided an estimate, and answered any questions that we had. Bret and Thang came before scheduled the next day and took care of everything in the basement that needed to be removed. The whole crew did a great job and we would be happy to hire them again.

I called Roto-Rooter and Mr. Min arrived within one hour of my call. He quickly diagnosed the problem. He explained how my system worked. He tested the pipes both upstairs and in the basement to see why the dishwasher and garbage disposal were not working. he had all of the necessary equipment with him to complete the job quickly. I was very happy that I did not need to purchase a new unit. Mr. Min and Roto-Rooter did a great job.

Min was very professional! He fixed my sewer line and I was able to use all of my bathrooms within an hour of him starting. He reset and sealed the toilet leving it very clean. Would hire roti router again no doubt!

Great first time experience with RotoRooter! I called for service at 2:30pm and was told that a tech would be at my house no later than 4:30pm and that they'd call a half hour before they arrived. Just before 3pm I got the call that the tech was on the way. The tech, Sailo, was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and thorough. He diagnosed the clogged waste pipe, cleared the clog, showed me where and why the clog had occurred and then snaked the line all the way out to the street to make sure the line was as clean and clear as possible. It's 4pm as I write this! So fast, very effective, and a reasonable price for outstanding service.

Had a pretty significant pipe issue last Saturday evening and the response from Roto-Rooter that evening was quick and the problem was addressed. Before I went to bed a major piping problem was fixed by two very professional and helpful technicians.

I spent over $1200 to clean two clogged drains and fix a garbage disposal. Within 6 month one of the drains is clogged again (from normal non-strenuous use) and the garbage disposal isn't working again.UPDATE - Roto Rooter resolved the issue.

I had a simple problem (leaky kitchen faucet - Riobel brand). The first service man (Mr Maum) sent did nothing to help the problem, he did not know how to open up the faucet (or did not want to know) and told me I needed a new faucet and would need to pay $400 to replace it (not counting parts) after he scratched the faucet with his plyers and I showed him the online repair guide I had just found but he refused to even look at it. So, I called and complained to the main number and they sent me a new service man (Lal Sailo) who was great, he fixed the problem, deducted the cost of the first visit and gave me an extra discount, told me the faucet was a great one, no need to replace it, gave me some advice on use and maintenance of it. The problem was fixed and it only cost me $175 (versus $400...). Mr Sailo was polite, knowledgeable and efficient and considerate. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars to my review is that my faucet remains scratched from the first serviceman. It could not be replaced as they don't carry this brand. In any case, my advice, look up the issue on internet before you call for the plumber so that you are aware of the what and how. If I had seen the online manual for that faucet type, I could have told the first serviceman how it unscrewed and saved a couple bad scratched on my otherwise fairly new faucet.

Very expensive service. They ask in my opinion incredibly high prices for simple job - in our case the draining of a pipe to remove a few wipes. While indicating upfront it may take between 2 - 8 hours, it only took 30 minutes, asking over 800 USD (which we talked down from USD 1080 at the start). While the job was done well, the pricing and transparency of the service is incredibly poor. Will never use them again for this reason

The tech was so unprofessional. Chewing tobacco and spitting. Broke our toilet and lied and said it was broken already(it wasn't). Replaced with a defective toilet. Left for an hour and a half to go eat. Terrible! Don't use this company. Overpriced and unprofessional. They did come out and replace the toilet but the whole experience was terrible

Plumber came on time, at beginning of the two-hour window. He was very polite, very competent, and went beyond what I expected. I was happy with the floor drain volume after the first reaming out, which made a hole in the blockage. But he insisted on keeping on it until he had gotten way past the blockage. He cleaned up everything as if he lived here.

When the Michael & Son's Technician refuse to show up at midnight, Samuel Sang, the Roto-Rooter Service Technician, arrived at my home within 30 minutes of me placing a call for service. Sam was on his way home after completing another job and did not want to leave a customer in need. Sam was very professional, curious, and completed the job in a timely manner. It was obvious that Sam has put a lot of time in cultivating his trade skills and provides excellent customers service. I am extremely thankful for Sam taking on the job at midnight.

The day before Christmas Eve and my sink is leaking. I called them and within an hour they had someone out. The whole faucet needed to be replaced. They recommended we go get one on our own and then they will install it. They told me exactly what to get. Came back within 20 minutes and voila, a new sink. They aren’t the cheapest, but at least I know it’s done right.

We had a clog in our outside drain. I called to set up an appointment and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they could come out the same day I called! Isaac was our technician and he was very knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the problem. He unclogged our drain and did an excellent job cleaning up. You would never have known he was there! I would definitely recommend this company if you need quick, knowledgeable, and efficient work done!

Due to the age of our sewage pipes we had to replace the pipes under our basement floor and under our lawn out to WSSC's connection in the right-of-way.Both the plumber and the equipment operator performed exceptional work. When I was growing up my father was a licensed plumber and when I was in the Army I was in the Engineering Corp. I know exceptional work when I see it and both Tom and Brandon did an excellent job; from the quality of the work to the finishing and cleaning up at the completion of the job

I do not know how this company has five star rating. I just got a quote from them for a water heater installation. This was the most unprofessional quote that I ever got, the guy looks around and quotes $3000 for the installation of a 75 gallon water heater, the other two companies were around $1200. Beware of this company they will rip you off.

We had a sewage backup in our basement and Roto-Rooter was the only company available to come out on a Sunday before New Year's. Xena came initially and did what he could, then called Ram who was more experienced in operating one of the machines around the sharp angle of our pipes. They both worked hard and cleaned up nicely after they were done with their work. They were able to go through our line to the street, only to discover the problem was off our property. They called WSSC to have their inspector come out. They were friendly, helpful and professional, and we appreciated their availability and hard work.

I was very pleased with this service. I had a backed up drain just when four people were arriving for a dinner party on a Friday night. First of all, someone actually answered the phone at the main office. Then, James got out to the house within a couple of hours. Roto-rooter arrived within an hour of my calling them to clear a backed up sewer line. That's really the only positive thing about the service. They didn't clear it successfully the first time. It was backed the next day and they had come to try again. The plumber left a mess (in addition to the mess that comes with a backed up sewer line), broke the grate for the floor drain and didn't replace the cap where he accessed the sewer line to flush it.

Plumbing issues for restaurants on busy nights are nightmares. I called Roto company and Lal Sailo came after 2h. He was able to resolve issue quickly. He was very professional and efficient. Will keep using your service in the future.

We went with Roto-Rooter because they had on file two other jobs they had done for the previous owners from 1996 and 2002. They were able to send Technician #2629 the same day (he was at another job just 5 minutes away) and he quickly cleaned out a partially blocked kitchen drain that had not been cleaned in 20 years. We are very pleased with the prompt and professional service of our technician.

Had a damaged supply line that was leaking into the ceiling of a finished basement. After calls to three other plumbers I was finally provided a technician from Roto-rooter. It took a couple of hours for them to arrive but I was told about the distance they had to drive as well as the $149 fee for the drive (eek!). Technician was professional and courteous. His English could use some improvement but did not hinder the service. He managed to repair the leak with a modest amount of drywall damage. He also repaired a leaking sink drain at my request (do to recent poor installation by a contractor). I applaud the timeliness and quality of service but I paid the price!! ($149 drive + $310 for pipe repair + $285 for sink drain repair) All was done within a few hours and no leaks!

Amazing service. My bathtub was clogged and I tried some product to clear the drain last night and the tub exploded with toxic liguid and air. I called Roto-Rooter and they were here within an hour and the service technician spent the evening trying to work with a tub with original plumbing. He was drenched from working and was suggesting we needed to cut some pipes but then insisted he try a couple more times and he was able to get the snake down. Excellent service. Having a Roto-Rooter visit was not exactly on my Things to Do list this NFL playoff weekend! I had a small leak from my master bedroom toilet and was dreading the diagnosis and most expressly the cost of the repair. Mr. Kap, the technician arrived early for our appointment. He was very knowledgeable and immediately detected the problem. He provided me several options to solve the problem and outlined each one very thoroughly! He went above and beyond in providing excellent customer service. He was very polite and most certainly professional. Hire more Mr. Kaps if possible.

Technician #855, Kam Mung, did an amazing job fixing an emergency issue with my garbage disposal. Arriving within a hour, the technician was quick and solved the problem without incident.

Just had my water heater replaced. Got off to a bit of a rocky start, but in the end couldn't have been happier. Tech came out at 8 p.m. and stayed until after 10 to make sure the leaking had stopped. By 3 p.m. the following day I had a new water heater and hot water again. Professional and knowledgeable.

The serviceman showed up within an hour, which was great because I had a semi-emergency situation. He did real good work and also gave sound advice on a future outdoor faucet project. Very pleased all around.

The plumber came out two hours late. He then gave the most insane estimate ($1700 to replace a garbage disposal)... the man on the phone said they had the supplies on the truck and the man said he'd have to charge me $180 to go get the supplies because they never carried them on the truck.. overall I wouldn't trust them sadly

The technician Tommy did a hydro-jet job on the main line of our kitchen which was backed up clogged from years of grease and honestly told us the situation assessment and the most money-saving efficient way to solving our back-up. Found a leak under my kitchen sink at the shut off valve. A plumber was at my door in less than an hour and fixed the problem quickly. Very nice person and very professional.

I called Roto-Rooter this morning around 8:45 a.m. and told them I had a main line clog. They took my information and then called me right back to set up water damage cleanup and assistance. I did not need that service but it was nice to have it offered. By 11:15 am I had a technician at my house ready to take care of my clog. The plumbing technician Joseph (5423) walked my property with me to find out how far the city manhole was from my home before he started. He then took the time to patiently talk with my home warranty company to get authorization to conduct the work. I winded up paying for the work myself but he talked me through the process of snaking my line and then went over pricing to make me feel very secure in proceeding with the work. Once he cleared the clog he informed me that the clog was outside my property limit so he called the county and informed them of the issue which is now on record and a huge relief to me. I've never had a service technician do so much to make sure a service call was completed so efficiently. Roto-Rooter has definitely gone above and beyond the average service call for my home. I would recommend using them to make sure every option is covered when you need plumbing service. They are quick, professional and the warranty behind there work is a great plus.

No one wants to have to call a plumber when their toilet does not flush, but I was so pleased with the service technicians that I will certainly call Rotorooter again! They were courteous, knowledgeable and left my house very clean. As it turned out I did not have a drain clog- just a 40 year old toilet that they helped me replace and even picked up a new one for me. Joseph #5423 and Emmanuel #4907 were absolutely wonderful and a credit to their company. I will absolutely ask for them again if I need assistance.

They came quickly (within the hour) and the technician was very Friendly and professional. It wasn’t an easy drain to unclog and he had to spend about three hours working on it but never complained.I would definitely negotiate prices with them though. I had a problem with my hot water. Van from Roto-rooter identified it was a clog going to my water heater and fixed it within a hour. He also had to replace a leaking kill valve and assisted with a clog drain outside of the billable project. Nice guy and good work.

Had a major leak with the kitchen faucet, Sailo (tech #873) came out within the hour to fix it. Ended up replacing the faucet. Sailo did an great job replacing it, he also thoroughly checked other connectors/valves to make sure there are no other leaks. Outstanding work (5 stars); however pricy (3 stars) in comparison to other providers but need it fixed right-away.

I was very concerned since we recently remodeled the bathrooms and it was necessary for Roto-Rooter to remove a toilet in one of the bathrooms to access the drain pipes. The service men were very professional and explained the steps in the process and said there would be no damage to the tile in the bathroom. They cleaned out the drain within an hour and left no mess or damage. I was very pleased with their work and would recommend them to friends.

I contacted Roto Rooter and cancelled my appt. with my home warranty company. They responded so quickly (10 mins.) to confirm that a tech would be coming out. Customer service is BIG for me as providing good Customer Service seems to have become of little importance these days. They completed the work, cleaned up and advised me of my warranty on the work. They answered all of my questions, and patiently allowed me to share all of my concerns regarding the job, as I had this issue serviced just 5 months ago via my warranty company. Had a clogged drain on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, so my options were a bit limited as most companies were closed. I appreciated speaking to a human operator and although it took a while to get the plumber out to our house, the work was done in a professional and competent manner. The plumber, Ngura, took care to cover his shoes and move some rugs when he was lugging his electric snake into our basement. The job itself was pretty simple and he was finished quickly. He even gave us a discount despite us not having a coupon. Would definitely call them again.

Joseph, #5423, was the model professional for services. He took the time and was patient, explaining the dangers of a main line clog, what are the signs I should look out for, and then put a lot of muscle into unclogging my toilet. He not only unclogged the toilet, testing it numerous times to make sure water was flowing, he cleaned up the awful, long stagnant mess that was there . He also cleaned the floor and made sure the area was even better looking than when he arrived. I really see the benefits of Roto-Rooter 24 hour service. I could not get a plumber to come outside of business hours. I am also a working professional and I do not have the time off to wait for a plumber to come during a window of time during the work day. I really appreciate that Roto-Rooter has 24 hour availability and Joseph guaranteed his work for up to 7 days. Other services would keep charging for each visit and definitely do not clean up or anything, like Joseph did. He was very, very nice and personable and it was clear he wanted me to learn about the situation. He was careful explaining me the costs of services, and was very trustworthy. Other plumbers clearly look like they are trying to make as much money off me as they can. I really appreciated Joseph's work and level of service.

EDIT: After I posted this review, I got four calls and two voicemails from Roto Rooter in one day, so clearly posting this got their attention. I finally called back, and the manager (Purcell) apologized for what he said was a misunderstanding. It seems the technician did not understand that the coupon could be reimbursed back at the office. Roto Rooter claims they will be sending a check to reimburse. I appreciate the prompt follow up to an upsetting experience, so I changed this review from two stars to three, but I still wouldn't use this service again.ORIGINAL POST:Not only were they an hour later than they said they would be from their confirmed call, but the sink problem was fixed in a matter of seconds and the technician charged me 300 dollars for the service. Then, the technician, (number 2563) refused to take a coupon I had received in the mail on the grounds that it was not presented at the proper time of the appointment. I was confused because it did not say anything about this rule anywhere on the coupon, and asked him to call his supervisor to see if there was anything to be done. He did, but the whole time, the technician proceeded to blame me for not knowing I was supposed to give the coupon to him at the start. I asked, since that was the process, why then did they not ask if I had a coupon to use, since many people would not know this was the process. His explanation was that rotorooter wanted to get as much money out of customers as they could. His supervisor was on the phone and did not intervene at all.I don't usually write negative reviews, but I found this company policy, so to speak, sneaky. The technician came across rude and condescending. I won't be using this company again.

The plumber, Ruata, arrived very quickly after I called. He was friendly and polite and made sure to cover his shoes and equipment before coming into our house (much appreciated!) He solved both our kitchen sink problem and our slow outdoor drain and cleaned up well before he left. I took off one star because it was a bit on the expensive side, but the quality of work and professionalism were great!

DON'T USE-- Had a nightmare experience.Not professional - Broke pieces of our plumbing and tried to charge 3x as much to fix, despite their own employee acknowledging it was their fault. Settled at an arbitrary and made up number, more than originally quoted.Poor Quality - First tech broke multiple things requiring a more complicated fix. Repeatedly asked for a senior tech and roto rooter declined to provide him any support or back up.Not Responsive - Impossible to get ahold of managers, problem took nearly 3 days to fix after being told it'd take 20 mins. Watch a customer service rep respond to this even though we already emailed them and got little or no acknowledgement.Not on time - We ere told on many occasions that someone would show up at a certain time or a certain time range, *always* 1-3 hours late. Dispatch sending people to the wrong jobs, techs and managers promising to come at a certain time and showing up hours late because they went to do other jobs and were going to ignore us.Poor Value - even if they *hadn't* tried to triple charge us for the work after they broke things, their charges were still more expensive than we were quoted by other plumbers. But it was an emergency and they promised to show up quickly (spoiler: they did not).

We had a leaky pipe under a bathroom sink, which was causing a lot of water damage. Rich the plumber came to our house within 45 minutes of the first phone call at 10:00pm on a Friday night, and he worked quickly and skillfully to fix the problem. The service wasn't cheap, but we got what we paid for in terms of response time, professionalism, and final product. Thanks much!

We had a clogged kitchen sink and our amateur efforts to unclog the pipe and restore function were ineffective. I called RotoRooter on a Friday night and they were here within the hour. Cung was our technician and he was great. Very polite and patient. He was thorough in diagnosing our problem, even having me talk to the 2nd floor neighbors to see if they were experiencing kitchen plumbing issues. Once we were sure where the problem existed, he got to work right away, snaking the pipe and rebuilding the p-trap below our sink. The service was not cheap--$600 for the whole project, but after a while of going on your own, you just want the problem fixed and life to go back to normal. Cung did a great job cleaning up, taking the time to explain to my out-of-town husband over the phone what he did and extensively tested his handiwork to make sure the clog was fixed and the new p-trap did not leak. I would definitely recommend RotoRooter if you need quick and effective help with plumbing.

We had water leakage in a bathroom resulting in seepage and damage on the ceiling on the floor below it. The guys from Roto-Rooter came in for the rescue. Chris identified and fixed the leak within a hour, for which he had to remove the toilet, cut a whole in the wall and fit everything back more professionally than it was installed before. Jason identified the seepage in the walls and floor and made sure no spot was left unchecked and we felt completely comfortable given this is our first such issue with our house. Definitely recommend to everyone.

Called on a Sunday evening, someone was at my house about an hour later to check on the problem (Wayne was the plumber). He diagnosed the problem fairly quickly and explained what would need to be done to fix it. The parts were not available that evening, so we scheduled for Tuesday. Wayne showed up and took a few hours to finish the work. Did an excellent job. Once done he explained how everything worked, any warranty coverage both on the new equipment from the manufacturer, and the work done by him.Completely professional and explained things in terms that someone like me, who knows nothing about plumbing, could easily understand. Will not hesitate to call them again and will recommend their work to anyone that asks.

Sailo was very pleasant and helpful. He actually went above and beyond unclogging the toilet. He also tightened the loose bolts around the base of the toilet and replaced the handle of a different toilet that we were concerned about. Whenever we need any other plumbing work done, we'll be sure to call on Roto-Rooter and Sailo again.

Our Roto Rooter technician, James Lian, arrived quickly and did a great job solving our clog problem, explaining what was going on and what he was doing, making every effort to keep the place clean as he worked, and clean up after he was done. We're grateful for such prompt and effective service!

Very expensive for nothing. They don't have the typical service fee as other companies for just coming (e.g., minimal fee $89). Thought I had an issue only to discover the circuit was tripped. So the tech only hit the reset switch and I was still charged $300. Although, he was very knowledgeable and gave me tips and suggestions. It wasn't worth $300.

Ask for David (Tech#2912). David was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. David was able to get to us quickly and listened to all of our concerns. Other plumers had said it would require a complete remodel to access and address our bath to shower issue. David went out of his way to find the right parts (shower diverter) and was able to fix it in no time.

I called Roto Rooter at 6pm and Van (Tech #3628) was there in less than an hour. He was just fantastic. Access to the pipes in our century-old house is not easy -- we've even had plumbers give up in the past. But Van made it work, and had the pipes cleared in about an hour, even though he had to remove and reinstall the toilet to do it. He was very professional and friendly, and I was able to carry on getting my two toddlers in bed while he was there. He also tightened up the pipes under my sink and gave me some useful warnings and advice on how to deal to future problems that may come up because of the antique plumbing in my back yard. He was great and I would call Roto Rooter again in a heartbeat. Flooding sinks are never fun but this experience could have been a whole lot worse!

I had an issue with water heater problem on June 8, 2018. We called 4 different water companies and did not get a response for over 10 days. I called Roto rooter in who responded immediately and sent someone out to our residency in less than 2 hrs. Very effective and efficient service. John did an excellent job. He not only fixed the drain clog in our laundry sink, but he also checked our other basement drains and found that our sump pump was underwater (and obviously broken) and our outdoor drain was clogged, as well. The following week we had a huge storm and our basement invariably would have flooded without John making those observations and repairs. He was also here within an hour of me calling Roto Rooter.

Had a frozen pipe break around 830pm and Roto-Rooter had Hming - tech #2964 - over in about 30 minutes. Hming was very knowledgeable and explained the issue so that we were able to prevent it in the future.

We had two clogged toilets and a fill valve that needed to be replaced to resolve a leak. Our technician was very punctual and responded quickly, and they offered very reasonable pricing. We’ll definitely use them again.

RotoRooter quickly addressed an awful plumbing emergency. They properly repaired the plumbing the same day, thoroughly mitigated extensive water damage over the next five days, and even invoiced the insurance company directly. Their customer service and quality work made the best of an awful situation. I couldn't be more pleased.

After I placed my call to Roto Rooter I almost immediately received a call saying a service technician would be by within the next 45 minutes. The technician, Zaw (1409), was here in less than 45 minutes. He did a great job diagnosing and taking care of the problem. He was courteous, very careful about covering his shoes so as not to track in mud and did a great job cleaning up. I was very impressed and highly recommend Zaw and Roto Rooter.

Service was fast and prompt. The plumber came over after 5 om which is so hard to find now for any service and we did not have to take off work for it. He had to install a new disposal system under the kitchen sink and it probably took about 15 minutes. Very happy with how fast they responded.

Found out that my master bathroom shower was leaking into my basement. Set up an appointment with Roto Rooter and the technician had to go in between my HVAC system but was able to get it fixed. I would've given more than a 3.5 - 4 **** but the drain cap isn't flush to the shower floor even though the water drains (hopefully I don't hurt my foot on the side that's slightly raised).Technician #2563Update:Technician #873 Lal Sailo came out today to fix the issue with the drain cap not being flush to the rest of the shower floor. I must say that he exceded all expectations and did a wonderful job at no further charge to me. He definitely deserves some type of bonus. Thanks. I give his work 5 stars.

RE: Technician Purcell #3755- I was experiencing a toilet back-up problem for a few weeks after my daughter's birthday party and called Roto-Rooter for help. While I was expecting to have to go through a lot of turmoil getting a plumber to come out, an enormous bill, and a unfriendly technician that wanted to tell me more was wrong with my plumbing than I anticipated- that was not the case. My technician Purcell (#3755) was prompt, courteous, and very knowledgeable. While I only planning on fixing one of my plumbing problems, I actually got both problems fixed all because of the customer experience provided by Purcell and the discount that was provided. He showed customer service qualities that I recall from the 80's and early 90's and fixed both problems. I would definitely use Roto-Rooter again and request only one technician (#3755). He is a true technician that cares about his customers and looks beyond just completing a job. I was lucky to have him as my technician.

Sawng Pi did a great job, very nice and professional. My drain was unclogged and cleaned just within few hours after scheduling the service. Overall very satisfied.

Without any warning, our toilet and shower stall both began backing up at the same time. Our Service Technician came out right away, did a thorough job diagnosing the (yucky) problem, and knew just what to do to get everything working like new. We had a basement toilet and floor drain back up at 9PM on a Sunday night. We called a couple of services but Roto-Rooter was the only one to respond. Our service tech (Kam) pulled the toilet, ran a snake down the sewer drain to clear tree roots, and re-installed the toilet. Kam left the house as clean as it was before the backup. Kam left our house at 12:30AM, the end of a 14-hour day for him. He was professional all the way. I highly recommend Kam and this company. Thanks from Silver Spring MD...!

It took three different technicians three different days and they were not able to solve our problem. We waited HOURS. The first plumber they sent couldn't fix the problem AND tried to charge me more than the agreed upon price after he had to snake through the toilet instead of the basement drain. He didn't explain the additional charge up front and only said he would charge us more after he had our toilet off and sitting int he living room. He didn't fix the problem, so we wanted someone else to come back. they sent someone different that evening with a camera, who said we needed a plumber to come back out - but one was not available. We were told dispatch would call us to set up someone to come out that evening or the next morning. That never happened. When I called the company to see what happened, they had no record that we still needed the work to be completed. We needed a video tech AND a plumbing tech to fix the problem. They told us they had a combo video/plumbing tech who came on at 3 and we'd be his first appointment. He showed up close to 4, but his video equipment was broken - he said dispatch knew that and shouldn't have sent him. He couldn't get working video equipment, so it wasted the entire second day. He (graciously) promised to come back the next day with a video tech. He showed up at the agreed time but the video tech was 45 min late. And then they couldn't solve the issue. We ended up having to call another company who fixed it in less than an hour. The customer service was pretty bad, and so were the wait times -- all in all we spent a few hundred bucks without having the problem fixed, and we wasted three days dealing with it all. The only positive I'll say is that the second technician they sent - Josue - was very nice and tried to be as accommodating as possible. It was the company's incompetence that wasted all of our (and his) time, and he seemed like a genuinely good guy who was knowledgeable.

Bought a house last month, and immediate started having issues with the basement toilet. After weeks of back and forth with American Home Shield and their awful plumbing contractor, I gave up and called Roto Rooter! Finally, PROBLEM SOLVED! Maung was prompt, professional, and did a great job of clearing the main sewage line! He cleaned up after himself, and took all the refuse (mostly old tampon from the previous homeowner...GROSS!!) The toilet in the basement is working perfectly for the first time in almost two months! They are sending out a guy next week for a follow up inspection, to make sure everything is all clear! Overall a very professional and great experience! From the moment I contact Roto Rooters they scheduled a same day appointment and the plumber showed up early in their scheduled window. He was both professional and informative and did a great job.

After a recent big rainstorm in our new home, we noticed water pouring out of our drain pipe like a fountain where it connects with the gutter downspout. Although we screened the gutters after moving in, the pipe was obviously clogged with leaf debris and probably hadn't been cleaned out in years. Suang was assigned to our appointment and was not only right on time at the beginning of our 2 hour window, but he successfully completed the project of snaking our clogged downspout drain in less than an hour. I was also pleased by how courteous and prepared he was by wearing booties inside and even covering the wheels with booties on his snaking machine to prevent dragging any dirt inside the house. Suang was efficient, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly and we were very happy with the service he and Roto Rooter provided. It was also really easy to schedule and the woman who took our call was not only friendly, but also detail oriented making sure she understood exactly what our issues were and how best to address them. It was certainly not an inexpensive visit, but all around, we had a very positive experience and would not hesitate to recommend Suang or Roto Rooter again.

I am a first time home owner of less than 5 months. I was home alone with my two children because my husband is in the hospital. I went down to the basement to get something and found water on the floor in the storage area. I mopped it up with towels and threw them in the washer. The water was still slowly coming in through the backwater waste cover thing in the floor so while I was trying to figure out what to do all of a sudden water started pouring out from under the first floor toilet and down through to the basement, the washer drained. I FREAKED out, called my neighbor in a panic to help me turn off the water. After the water stopped gushing out I started calling around to a ton of different plumbing companies and Roto-Rooter was the only one that was able to come out that night, within like an hour, that seemed trustworthy, and that was able to work on the main sewage drain. My service technician, Kima, was incredible. He told me everything that was going to happen, what he had to do, etc. Understanding what was happening and why and how things work is really important to me in these types of situations. He was so reassuring and thats exactly what I needed. All I could think was that I was going to have to call my husband who was already going through so much and add this stress to his plate. But Kima saved us. Super professional, fantastic customer service, and he somehow made what was a really awful situation seem less overwhelming and totally manageable. I was able to tell my husband today that this happened and that it was all taken care of and how wonderful the tech was and I could see the relief on his face. That meant the world to me. He also said that they will be sending someone back out, at no charge, with a scope camera thing to go in and find out what actually caused the blockage. I don't know, but I feel like that is not a service that I would have gotten through another company. I hope that I don't ever have another incident like this again but if I do, I am calling Roto-Rooter and I hope that I get Kima again. Thank you Kima!!!!! You really did go above and beyond for me last night and I cant say thank you enough.

The plumber arrived soon after the call. Mr. Jenson Van Ray was very professional and answered all my questions while working. He went over all the cost before he began and informed me about the water restoration and video of the pipe, which were at no cost to me. He explained everything he was doing and why. He even helped my clean out my closet so he could get to the crawl space. I felt he was very thorough and reassuring that Roto-Rooter would be there for me through out the process. The very next day the water restoration gentleman, Jason Nelson, arrived to go over all that needed to be done. He was also very professional and made me feel comfortable that my house would be taken care of. He even sat with my while I called my insurance company and aided with all of the questions. He gave a thorough explanation of what is going to happen in the next few days and why it should happen. I am extremely pleased with everyone I have dealt with through out the process during a very stressful time.

Ngura provided excellent service and spent the time to figure out where our ceiling leak was coming from. He arrived within a only couple of hours of initially placing a call to Roto Rooter when I discovered the leak, so I appreciated the prompt service. The water restoration specialist, Graham was also very helpful and came by to assess the damage and make a plan to restore the water damage. He also called my insurance company with me to file a claim.

We had a clog in our main pipe from the kitchen and washing machine and were unable to use the sink or washing machine. The contractor I called was unable to fix the problem and recommended calling Roto-Rooter. Yesterday at around 5:30 PM I called and was told someone would be there within the hour. The technician, James Lian (#2629) arrived within 30 minutes. He was polite, friendly and courteous. I explained the problem and he got to work. He had the line cleared very quickly, showed me what he did and had some helpful recommendations to prevent another clog. (A lint cover for the washing machine hose and some treatment I purchased from Rotorooter to pour down the drain every two weeks.If i have another clog, I know who to call!!Thanks so much for getting here so quickly!!

The technician that serviced my leak was named Van and he was awesome! Not only did he diagnose my leak properly but he explained everything to me in depth and made sure that I knew what my costs were upfront. He skillfully replaced a pipe that was causing major water damage in my home and told me about Roto-Rooter's restoration services to remove the damaged material and kill the mold that had occurred as a result of the water damage. This was great, as I hadn't even known that Roto-Rooter had restoration service available. Van called them before completing the job and they came out very fast and all in all, I had terrific service. Thanks Van for being a consummate professional as well as a good guy. I would recommend Roto-Rooter in a second to a homeowner in trouble, particularly if they can send out Van again.

My water heater malfunctioned while under warranty and the manufacturer referred us to a local plumber with terrible ratings so we decided to call Roto Rooter as they have much more favorable reviews. The person who answered the phone was very professional and helped to set up an appointment for the next morning and we were given a window of 8-10am. They said someone would call 30 minutes before the technician arrives.The next morning everything unfolded as described, someone called thirty minutes before and the tech showed up at 8:00 am sharp. Thomas was very knowledgeable as he quickly diagnosed what needed to be done. He provided a quote, we agreed and he got to work.At the end, he installed our replacement tank to code, without any leaks. There were a few set backs during the install (busted pipe, did not tighten connection enough the first time, etc...) that required the technician to remove the tank three times and extended a 3-6 hour job into a 9 hour install. But, we both remained patient and he made sure he did what he needed to do to install the tank correctly.Though it took much longer than promised to complete the install we understand that things happen and are extremely pleased with Thomas for staying and making sure the job was done right. I highly recommend this company because it is evident that they do what they say they are going to do. Thank you Thomas and the team at Roto Rooter!

We had a clogged toilet which caused leaking as its connected to an upstairs shower. Tried plunging and using household snake, but clog persisted. Set up an evening appointment with Roto Rooter. Kam snaked the main sewer line through the pulled toilet. That worked but Kam went the extra mile and had a restoration specialist, Paul, come over to check out the floor. Additionally, he scheduled someone, Larry, to come over the next morning with a camera. The camera demonstrated the main sewer line was cleared out. Overall, I was very happy with the service and would call Roto Rooter again for basic or complex jobs. The only thing I would ask for improved service is for RR to post approximate costs for different types of basic services on the website so I would know roughly how much it would cost.

Jacob (tech #4534) and Sangtea were great. I had an emergency where I was having major water backup in my pipes. The water would backup and start filling up in my tub, shower, and sinks and you could hear it bubbling as there was a major blockage going on somewhere. The techs assessed what was going on and got to work right away! Come to find out, it was the main line that was clogged resulting in the water not flowing to the sewer. The techs pulled out the big auger machinery and cleared the blockage in no time. They kept me in the loop with what was going on every step of the way. I truly appreciate the great work involved, their friendliness, and their professionalism! I highly recommend them!

The entire experience from calling to report our clogged toilet to when we were notified a technician would arrive to the time the technician was here was wonderful! Their customer service is top notch and they are very responsive. They were able to come within two hours of requesting their services. I had a completely clogged downspout and in the middle of a 3-day storm, I was able to get Tin from RR out the next morning. He worked with me to try multiple paths tominimize repair costs, cleaned up afterwards, and most importantly, solved the problem.

Worked several days to get assistance with backup and plumbing issues due to a suspected pipe shift under property. The company continued to push timelines and not provide proposal by promised date. We had three children in two properties impacted from no water or plumbing. The issue still hasn’t been resolved and has continued to be delayed.

I called two other companies that I had contracts with to repair a running toilet and they couldn't get to me for 2-3 days. Roto-Rooter got to my house in 2-3 hours and did an excellent job fixing the plumbing problem. Should have called them in the first place.

Service was fine, tech pitched $890 price and I said no and ended the . He called back and negotiated it down to $500. Only used a shop vac on the drain and finished in 20 minutes,, did not snake the line and due to discount said the work is not guaranteed. I overpaid no doubt, but needed the job done.Didn’t exactly seem fair, but had me over a barrel. The tech was nice enough but it just felt like I didn’t get much for $500.Won’t call rotorooter again if this is how they operate.

My sewage line backed up at 7 am. Roto rooter was in there at 9:30 and took care of it like pros. Water had backed up to the basement shower and flooded the bath and started to seep onto the carpet. Roto Rooter even had a technician come out to survey the water damage. I highly recommend these guys, my only caution would be the price. They are on the expensive side and I later found local plumbers that did it for half the cost. That being said their service was phenomenal and I guess you pay for the quality of work and service.

My husband and I got married and bought a home about 3 weeks ago. Our kitchen sink started backing up really bad. We called Roto-Rooter and a plumber came out and snaked our water line the next day. He discovered a crack in the pipe line. The following morning a second plumber (with a camera) came out and we discovered the issue expanded into the laundry room - adjacent to the kitchen. The day after that, Larry (a Vietnam veteran - thank you for your service), Mat, and Al were at our house jack hammering our laundry room floor. They were absolutely great!!! As a young couple, my husband and I (24 and 23 years old, respectively) are on a tight budget. All three of them worked with us to find the most cost effective method for starting to find the crack in the pipe. I guess our home has a strange water line and it was difficult to decide where to start with the jack hammer. Mat and Al fixed the issue in less than 8 hours and ended up only tearing up about a 2-3 foot span of floor. It is much better than the idea of having to go from our kitchen sink, under the stove/oven, and through the wall to the laundry room. I had several pipes freeze and burst while my husband and I were out of town. I was very distraught to walk into a water fall come down my stair bannister and monsoon rain in my dining room. Wowwww where do I start????? I started off with a leak in my closet that eventually had water coming up from my floors. I googled a plumber because being a first time homeowner, I was in a panic. Believe it or not, Roto Rooter was the only company that replied in a timely manner. Mr.Sailo(#873) came in the wee hours of the night, gave a dianostic and wrote out a free estimate of the cost. The exit drain to our house was totally clogged. Mr. Vaiphea came as promised, cleared the drain so that we could use our kitchen and bathrooms again, replaced a plug that another plumber had left open, and gave us advice in dealing with the city agency.. It was really expensive...and it felt like it should have cost 1/2 the price I was charged. Also...although the plumber was really nice, I was the one who had to figure out how to get our furnace back on. I was happy that they got to my place within 1 hour and everything was up and running when he left...but given what I’ve written above I just can’t give a higher rating.Update: The shift manager called me and we talked through the issues and he has assured me that on Monday they will make a price adjustment. Additionally he assured that some retraining of the plumber will occur - which tells me that they take their reputation seriously and are committed to providing customers with safe and quality service. Given the customer service follow up, which I deem to be super important (since I absolutely hate poor customer service) I am changing my rating from 2 stars to 4.

Back during the McKinley Administration, my basement drain system was installed and it worked great. People driving by with their horses and buggies no doubt admired the new revolutionary notion of indoor plumbing. Well, the plumbing marvel of 1898 turned into a nightmare day before yesterday, as our main drain line to the manhole in the street finally counter-attacked. While it was fun to watch the dog floating around in the laundry tub in the basement, our experiment with the past -- no toilet or sink use during the crisis -- quickly lost its charm. We had a leak under our bathroom sink and Roto-Rooter was the only service that offered to come Sunday (the same day that I called) without charging for just the visit. Ram was extremely professional and went above and beyond. He cleaned out the bottle trap, replaced the washers on the pipes, and resealed the back pipe with sealant. Everything is now as good as new. The total service cost was 233.20 after applying a $75 coupon from their website. However, the cost was well worth same day Sunday repair, a great fix, and professionalism. I would ask for Ram.

Stayed at my mother-n-law's house for a week. It was the first time anyone has stayed with her that long in her 20-yrs of owning her home.Anyway, near the last day, her main sewage line would not drain. I called roto-rooter and they responded within 1-hr, snaked the line way past the street connection - hitting something solid (rock or concrete) nearly 85 ft away. (the house was only about 20 ft from the street and it was a straight run to the street).Mr. Sailo was 'Mr. Roto Rooter' for us, and he was fantastic, conscientious, courteous, and very easy to work with. To wait at my apartment in Arlington for an additional 2 hours after being told someone would come between 8 am through 10 am for an estimate and then be told $599.00 and $285.00 to snake a drain and replace a pop-up assembly is not only laughable but a complete joke. I can't believe your employee kept a straight face telling me that. I told them they could leave. I will never use your services and let my friends know not to as well. Now if you excuse me, I am going to give a 5 star rating to the plumber who was kind enough to come and charge me only 17.5% of what you all were charging.

Most services show up and try to sell you on everything even stuff you may not need but they were thorough and helped me to be a better consumer moving forward. Had an incredible experience with Dama. He was quick and courteous and provided all the information we needed further mitigation.We had a trip planned and almost had to cancel it when we discovered the basement toilet having backflow issues. Service Technician Maung Nu was at our house for eight hours checking and clearing all exterior drains and downspouts. He worked very hard and did an excellent job. The price is not cheap but the service was prompt, professional, and effective, save for two really old lines that had collapsed. Any line that could be cleaned was cleaned. The technician took great pride in solving any problem and cutting out every tree root. One of the larger machines broke but Mr. Nu carried a spare and he was back up and running in short order.

I had a great experience with them. Van was terrific! He was very friendly and arrived on time for same-day service. Provided good quotes that were cheaper than the competitors while doing an outstanding job of explaining the problem and provided seasonable options.

Mr. Lal Than Kima (#2007) came out within one hour to help figure out a nasty smell and flies coming from our basement drain. Long story short, turned out there was a dead raccoon behind our wood pile that had got caught in a tomato cage, died and maggots ate him up and were washed into the outdoor drain, which was tied to our basement drain. It was disgusting. Mr. Kima was amazing, he figured out what the problem was and got rid of the raccoon and cleaned the whole area up in addition to snaking the drain. Above and beyond! I had Sewer Backflow valve maintenance done. This is supposed to be an annual maintenance requirement. The tech was professional & informative. Left the house as clean as it was before he started. HOWEVER, IT COST $800!!! For an annual maintenance requirement for just one thing, that is way too expensive. He billed it as Snaking out the line. I’m not sure all that was needed. But, they have you over a barrel. What can you do?

I had a very pleasant and positive experience with Team Leader Dama Fanai. He was very professional, friendly and efficient. He answered any questions I had and told me step by step what the process would be for the service. He double checked his work and cleaned up everything after the job which I really appreciate as some companies do not leave things as they found them. What a rip off. Giving a fixed price for unblocking the drain of 800 (what is already insane) and saying it would take him 2 hours to a whole day. When we had signed the paperwork, it took him no more then 30 minutes. Didn't want to lower the price. Totally rip off.

I contacted Roto Rooter a few weeks back to clean the outside drains of my house before this Spring. From the very beginning the process was very smooth and easy. Making the appointment was a snap and the day of the service they kept me inform as to the whereabouts of the technician. James (#2629) did the job I requested and he couldn't had been better. he was detailed, told me what he was doing step by step and completely the job in the estimated time.

Khiangte (7909) did a great job. He called me 45 before he arrived to confirm his visit; he politely and clearly explained the possible costs; worked quickly taking the cheapest approach possible; explained what the problem was and how to avoid it in the future.

Called Roto-Rooter to snake the floor drain and main line into my house. The technician was very polite and friendly, answered my questions and was patient while we talked with the home warranty company. My regular plumber couldn’t come out the day before Christmas so this was a good option.

I was able to get same day thorough service (within an hour) from an expert and courteous plumber, Zo. My tub was clogged and within a 30-45 minutes, Zo had completed the service and payment processes. He also took the time to explain what was wrong and left with suggestions for prevention of the same issue. He also answered questions I had about other plumbing issues.

These guys are real lifesavers! Jason and Paul showed up less than 20min after we called to deal with our flooded basement. Jason located the leaking pipe in just a few minutes! Technician Van Linga (#3517) arrived late on a Friday night within an hour of calling for an overflowing toilet and leaking ceiling. He was able to fix the problem immediately, and also recognized the underlying plumbing issues. I have been having terrible issues with this toilet for years, and have had many plumbers come by, but Linga was the first to recognize a problem in the pipes of that particular toilet that needs to be repaired for long term fix. He was also extremely polite, nice and professional! Thank you!!!

The weather isn't that great today, so I was very surprised and happy that someone was available to take a look at my bathtub drain. It kept clogging up and had a funky smell. There was no fee and the technician (John) wore protective booties, which was very much appreciated. Will definitely use again in the future!

Roto Rooter had a plumber out very quickly on a Friday night. Jacob worked for about 2 hours, was very respectful and did a great job!

My main pipe was backed up and they came within 4 hours did a great job, but it was too pricey, but I was stuck. I couldn't flush the toilet, use the washer without water backing up in my basement. The price was well over 700. But like I said they did an excellent job.

RotoRooter Techninian Donovan Rose just left my house and he was awesome. Very professional and informative. Cleaned up everything as best he could. Would have given a 5 star except for the ridiculously high charges $149.99 for showing up and $599.00 for snaking the drain. But I have water draining out of my kitchen sink ..not backing up in the sink. Plus 6 months warranty on service.

I've used Roto-Rooter several times for plumbing issues. They are great with clean-up and haven't left any messes or stains ( I've used other companies that have left stains on the carpet/walls.) Everyone is very professional and quick to answer questions and provide recommendations. I actually used Len the Plumber at first and they eventually recommended that I use RR.

The good: The guy came out late at night, right when he said he would, and did a good and efficient job clearing the drain. Friendly, prompt etc.The bad: I was charged $60 for a jug of drain treatment that I did not agree to or expect. He just tacked it on to the price he quoted after pouring it into my drain without asking. This is shady - their prices are high enough.As for the pricing - I was anticipating a high but not unreasonable price to come out and clear a drain at 1:00 am on a weekend. That said, was over $500 for 30 minutes worth of work, which seems excessive even by plumbing standards. I have basement tenants so I didn't have much choice. But next time I will get them a hotel room and wait for a real plumber to come out Monday.

Great experience with Lal (#2036) he was prompt, friendly and honest. He clearly laid out our options after we discovered water damage in our kitchen ceiling. He quickly cut a hole, diagnosed the issue (worn wax ring) and replaced it. He wasn't pushy, did not surprise us with anything and made suggestions for preventative maintenance. So relieved that our Sunday is salvaged!

Had great service in changing out garbage disposal, but took less than an hour and the labor was extremely high, $410. I was not happy with the pricing at all. If it was not for the labor costs charged, I would have given a 5 star rating. I am out of town, so was in a bind to get it fixed or I would have shopped around.

i had a very bad backup in my house. I call Roto-Rooter to come out to take care of the problem. the serviceman took a look at the problem to see where the problem had began. And a after he found where the problem was he took care of it. which was on the State side. After he fix the problem he contact the state to in form them of the problem on their end.And the state made a record of the work that was done.

Service was careful with attention to detail. We had seriously clogged kitchen sink drain pipes and the drain snake was not able to clear them. The problem ultimately needed drastic pipe cutting and re-assembly but the Roto-Rooter technician was up to the task. Kim persevered, double checking until the line was clear. Technician arrived within minutes of the end of my given time interval.

He performed the work by himself which was a lot given that sediment had settled in the tank preventing draining and requiring him to carry the tank by himself out of the home with some water still remaining. I had an extremely tough job, but Jeff (#1174) and John (#1275) worked all day to get it taken care of. They were here right on time, very pleasant and worked with me with my situation. They were very professional and did a wonderful job making sure everything was taken care of and put back the way they found it. I could not have asked for better guys to help take care things.

Technician came and suggested right away that we needed to replace our garbage disposal for around $400 or he could 'try' to fix with no guaranty for $290. We said no thanks and he explained that he had come from Frederick, MD to DC and could check out the unit for $100. He ended up finding the issue and it now works. A little dismayed that he started with the highest cost services and only worked his way down after we told him to 'get lost'.

I recently had to have my water heater unexpectedly replaced last weekend and had a wonderful experience with Roto Rooter. I've used this company in the past, but this experience was especially special. Late one evening I noticed some leaking only to realize it was my water heater. I called Roto Rooter and they scheduled something for me on the spot and said someone would come and see me that night. Hours later, despite working overtime on someone else's issue, Min (#1461) comes to my house with a smile at 1:00 am to look at my issue. He quickly assessed and said I needed to replace it. It was too late to start working, so he shut off the water and promised he would come back the next day (on his day off) to personally fix my water heater. As promised, early Sunday morning he comes back and begins working. A few hours later he finished and trained me on how to use my new water heater. What makes this extra special is that Min lives about an hour away and instead of giving the job to someone else he decided to stay local overnight so that he could personally install my water heater and ensure my satisfaction. Had two guys came out tomy house to gave me an estimate. I told them what's is the problem and he gave me and estimate for $1,100 they are a big ripoff. I got the job done by a different company and it only cost me $200. Customer's be aware of these guys.

Refaat and I had several plumbing problems. There was hot water in the condo but not in the shower and the sink in the bathroom constantly dripped. We called another plumbing company and they told us we had to replace the water heater to fix the problem at a cost of $1,900. We called Roto-Rooter and they told us that we did not need to replace the water heater, it was fine. They fixed both problems for a fraction of the cost. The representative was very professional and I was set up with an appointment same day, to repair my leaking faucet and clogged drain. The plummer (Min #1461)arrived within the time frame alotted, and he came off as being very direct and honest out the gate answering all of my questions. The job done was outstanding, while working fast and efficient. Yet, not once did I feel he was rushing to get the job done. He cleaned up after himself and made sure he, as well as myself thoroughly checked his work before collecting payment. (Min #1461) was AWESOME! Overall Im 100% satisfied with the work done and communication, and to think Roto Rooter wasnt my first choice but for what i needed done, their price compared to other the companies I talked to first made my choice EASY.

We had a serious plumbing issue on a Sunday night. I called Roto-Rooter and they had a technician at our house in less than an hour. Wayne, the tech they sent was efficient, knowledgeable, courteous, and most of all empathetic. He was very safety conscious about COVID-19 and even went to the hardware store for a part. Prompt service (same day), but very expensive. $600 to clean out ONE gutter clog. The guy came out with an auger and it took him ~ 1hr. With all the rain we've had locally and already taking my time away from work, I just did it, but it hurt to the core when I can rent from Lowes/HD on a Saturday and do it myself. Great service, fast response. My kitchen flooded because my main line to the sewer was clogged and it was causing water to come up through the flood drain. I called roto-rooter and they had a technician at my house within 90 minutes, which is easily the fastest response to a service call I've ever had. The technician's name was Khiangte, and he was outstanding. He put booties over his shoes before coming inside, immediately identified the problem, and laid tarp down before wheeling in his equipment. He was fast, efficient, and very pleasant. When he believed he cleared the clog, he stayed while I ran water from various sources in order to ensure nothing else was wrong.

1/1/2020 - As the new homeowner and on New Years Day, I had an experience that became very challenging fast. It began with regular house hold chores and ended with me calling Roto-Rooter. After nearly five hours of trying to drain the water of both bathrooms, especially the master bath and me trying to maintain sanity, I reached for the phone and like a blessing, the call was answered promptly. I was told that someone will be out within an hour. Oh Yeah was my thought! However, I looked up at the door was Service Technician Mr. Joshua Boone. Mr. Boone came in and surveyed the situation and I was informed that the problem was a main sewer blockage. Mr. Boone proceeded with an outline all the was needed to be done and that which was to follow. Mr. Boone had to cut into a wall, cut a pipe to drain the system and within the entire time, he was extremely clean and outstanding with his professionalism. Mr. Boone completed the services (Line Open!!! - YEAH!! ) and he then begin to review what been done as he informed me about maintenance. (added a large bottle of drain cleaner). Mr. Boone discussed having a technician with a camera to come out to further evaluate the problem as it appears when he pulled back the cable, it had little root. ( This is complimentary). Well that was not the complete end, I was to expect another technician who is the Restoration Specialist for cleanup and decontamination. Mr. Boone walked me through that process too. It was about 5:00 p.m. and I was to expect some to come out to tear up the carpet that and access the damage underneath the carpet and any damage to the wall (baseboard). The Restoration Specialist, Mr. Patrick Proctor, was another Rotor-Rooter technician who walked me through the process with contacting my insurance company and he too is an outstanding professional person who was most patience with my insurance company, as it seem to take forever for someone to answer the phone. Mr. Proctor too, walked me the clean up process. The technicians for the clean-up, Justin and Brandon did an excellent job in the clean-up; remove the carpet and spray the entire home with decontamination solution; left me a fan and a dehumidifier. What I must say is all the services technicians were outstanding; Mr. Joshua Boone is heavenly blessing and I strongly recommend him as he not only did “just” his job, but he went beyond the scope of the job!

My technician Jacob #4534 arrived literally 10 mins after placing a service call. He was very knowledgeable, nice, and explained everything he was doing and why. I noticed a leak in my faucet that had caused some slight damage to the ceiling below. Roto-Rooter came out right away fixed the leak in my sink by replacing a part and then cut away some of the drywall to ensure there wasn’t a greater issue. My tech Joshua was great! This is my 3rd time using Roto-Rooter and great experiences each time!

The technician was polite and efficient. He successfully cleared a stubborn clogged drain, located the
outlet, and, at my request, extended the pipe so it would empty at a better place. I was pleased with the service.

My basement was flooding on and off for two days, my husband and I thought it was something minor well come to find out we had a clogged drain pipe. Sat Gin was the service technician (#5733) he was amazing I could not thank him enough. Very kind man and helpful, his work ethic was outstanding he wouldn't stop until he figured out why this was happening. After two long humid hours he got it!!! I do not know if you can recommend a technician but in the Maryland area I would recommend Sat Gin(#5733).

I scheduled a plumber but the dispatch at this company, at least in my area (washington DC) is terrible. I ended up cancelling the service because dispatch could not manage to get a technician to me, despite calling several times. I don't recommend this company.

This is the second time that Van , technician number 3628, has come to my home to do not so simple jobs. His work each time is excellent, he thoroughly and patiently explains what the job(s) entails . He 's very aware to keep the work area clean as he works and when the job is complete.

I called RotoRooter to set up an appointment in the next week. They were able to send someone within 1 hour. The technician, Sawng, was polite and responsive. I just wanted to give my sump a check-up and he did so quickly and even did a few preventive things for us. Cost was reasonable.I was very happy with the service and will use Roto Rooter again.

Our water heater flooded half of our basement on a Saturday morning. RotoRooter sent a plumber that evening and the next day replaced it. They were easier to schedule than Home Depot and their price was lower. the installation went smoothly and we were completely satisfied.

Got my toilet valve fixed. The service was great; punctual (the technician came during the designated 2-hour window) and efficient! The technician (VUR #1007) was also very courteous and pleasant. Before he stepped into my apartment, he made sure he put on his shoe covers. I greatly appreciate his service!

I called them at 8:00 am, I explained to them what I saw, what was happening and within an hour of speaking to a representative one of their service guys, Tin, was at my house. O don't recommend this company to anyone. I did use the services and they provide very poor quality. The team they send you are not professionals and they do not know what they are doing. They have ruined my place saying they're going to fix it but when it comes to fixing most of the part they say it's not our job. So if it was in your job why do you ruin my place. Then they do some magic tricks showing their contract that they are only drying company or something like that. I have lost thousands of dollars because of them. Just find anyone else.

I recommend Roto Rooter for your sewer clean-out problems.I had a clogged sewer pipe and needed an emergency solution. As precaution to prevent dirty water backflow, I turned-off the water supply to my home. I could only consider Roto Rooter for an immediate response. On Sunday, I called at 1230p and the technician was at my door by 300p. He's was professional and listened to my assessment of the issue. After the clean-out was a success, I was able to restore my water supply line, take a shower, and relax. I received a call, on Monday, and scheduled for a camera technician to inspect my sewer pipe from my home to the street for further assessment. The camera tech visit is built into the sewer clean-out cost. I won't incur any additional fees for the camera inspection.

I couldn’t be more satisfied and pleased with our experience. We had a pipe burst (same one bursts every winter.). Sawng PI (technician #2097) got out here very quickly. He truly went above and beyond. He replaced the pipe and all the insulation and more. He also had suggestions for how we can prevent this to continue happening. Things no other plumber or contractor has thought of. Such a professional and pleasant man, he clearly cared about fixing our problem stat. With 3 small children getting our water back on in a matter of hours was more than we had hoped for. I had a floor drain backed up inside my basement, Called Roto-rooter and from the first initial call i new service was gonna be great. From the helpful dispatcher all the way down to the technician John(1275) who was very professional. within minutes he was able to locate the issue and went full attack mode. Left no mess, lectured me on the machine he was using to fix the problem and also recommended products to help with future issues. I will definitely recommend this company to Family and friends!!!!!

Prompt response on a Sunday night. Price was initially $300 for a clogged toilet but we basically negotiated down to $200. 1 star off for having to negotiate, but otherwise the guys was very friendly and worked quickly. I just wish they had more transparent and straightforward pricing.

I had a blockage in my main line, so I called Roto-Rooter to send a camera tech out to do a camera inspection, which I specifically asked for. Instead they sent a guy to snake my line (a service I didn't ask for) and he performed the snake and came to the obvious conclusion that it was blocked by something (NO SHT SHERLOCK). So then I called RR's main number to schedule the camera person to come out, and after numerous calls and no shows for days, someone finally came out with the camera. When he came, he didn't have the proper tools to get the capping off the main line to run the camera. I told him to leave, and called another company (John CF) to come out, and they were fantastic. The other company found the problem immediately.My take...DO NOT USE ROTO ROOTER. The communication between dispatch and the field workers is atrocious.

The manager came out immediately to assess the job. She was professional, genuinely warm and personable. I am typically very anxious about having others in my home, but she definitely put me at ease. Within an hour of her leaving, my technician showed up. I showed him all that needed to take place, he explained in perfect detail what he would do and provided me with a reasonable estimate. He cleared the bathroom clog, repaired the pipe in the kitchen and repaired the sprayer on my kitchen sink in under an hour. The stellar customer service, from creating the appointment to fulfillment of the job, and the the quality of he workmanship is what keeps me coming back time and time!

I used Roto Rooter extensively for multiple properties for many many years and they are 100% A+. Dozens of calls over the years and everything is always done to perfection. They are a bit pricey, but it’s done right every single time. Every technician is top notch. Professional no nonsense and super polite! If only every contractor is like Roto Rooter!

We had an unfortunate plumbing issue causing backed up toilets in our basement on a Saturday afternoon. We called Roto-Rooter and in less than an hour Jacob #4534 and Jason promptly showed up and were able to assess and solve the clogged pipe caused by a root infiltration between the main and clean-out sewer.Jason helped me assess the problem and claim with my home insurance and in no time they also set up what need to be done the days after to mitigate the damages from the backed up water.Later on the same day, other two technicians part of the water restoration team (Larry #2553 and Than #1469), came in to install a big dehumidifier to tamper down the water infiltration damage.The day after (Sunday) the water restoration team (Larry #2553 and Than #1469) came back to rip off the basement floor and drywalls needed to be sanitized and clean up.The Roto-Rooter technicians are very thorough and very professional.I am happy to recommend the Roto-Rooter team.

We called Roto-Rooter and 5pm on a Monday and they arrived at our house 2 hours later to resolve problems with our sink. The service provided by Dama Fanai (#1503) was excellent, courteous and polite. There was no commitment that had to be made prior to the visit from the technician which was great.

We called Rotorooter because we were having trouble with getting the drain outside our basement door to clear. Three years ago we had spent thousands of dollars to have the backyard dug up when we were experiencing an even more extreme version of this problem. At that time it was found that the pipe had been broken by a 20 foot root that had grown inside. It needed to be extensively repaired and largely replaced. This time James, #2629, came from R-R and within an hour had removed 10 feet of root! It's raining now but the drain is clear. Thanks, James and Roto-Rooter!

Excellent and prompt service. After my initial call, I got assigned a technician (Maung) almost immediately, and he arrived within 45 min (as agreed upon). Maung was very professional and courteous, and after some testing he identified the issue causing the leak from the tub. He explained the problem clearly and indicated the cost of the repair before proceeding. He was very kind and gave me advice to prevent future issues.

My home plumbing issue required immediate attention. Since I've never required the assistance of a plumber I Googled local plumbers and started calling. The first made me an appointment the following day; the second failed to return my call; the third offered to come out the next Monday. Roto-rooter said they would be out in an hour. The technician arrived in half an hour; determined what the problem was; fixed it and cleaned up afterwards. He was polite and answered all my stupid questions with a great deal of patience. I now have Roto-rooter on speed dial!

I had a manifold that had sprung a leak - thanks to the Homedepot recommended plumber who came over to replace my water heater. After the leak, I called up several plumbers in the area and as usual they would stop by, collect the check for stopping by and would promise to send me a quote for either replacing the manifold or as one of them suggested to replace the whole plumbing system for the house. The fun part was that the Homedepot suggested water heater replacement guy recommended me not to call Roto-Rooter and asked me to call his friend plumber. At that point I was already leaning to call Roto-Rooter, but I still listened to him and lost another $144.00 in the process, just for stopping by.After waiting for a week and half with no water at home, I eventually called Roto-Rooter. Jacob and Xena from Roto-Rooter came over and looked at the task-in-hand and gave me the quote. I should say that Roto-Rooter was not cheap, but they turned out to be the best in business. They sat down and worked for hours and built me a replacement manifold out of copper pipes. Job well done and I recommend (if Roto-Rooter is reading) Jacob and Xena from Roto-Rooter for their exemplary dedication to the task, by finishing the work in spite of them foregoing their lunch.

Me and my wife were extremely satisfied with the water restoration service provided by roto- roofer service professionals. They were on time and educated us about the service they are providing, to make us feel comfortable. I think we all get anxiety when we have to make the dreaded Plumber Call because we know it will not be an inexpensive service. After doing my best research, and several calls I picked Roto Rooter. The First thing I liked was that I could make a FREE Appointment/Estimate with NO PRESSURE to Purchase anything. The Technician arrived right on time which is always a plus in a 2 hour window. Vin was very polite and professional explained to me what was needed, and instead of giving me a price to do the work, he showed me his Rate Sheet to assure me that this was the cost to do the work, and not just some made up number. I told him I had a $75 Coupon and he said Great, I can use that!. I know I needed to get the work done, I have peace of mind now that my laundry room / basement drain is working in case of some type of flood. I feel confident I made the correct decision in picking Roto Rooter and would refer to a friend or family member.

My residence had an emergency drainage problem on a Saturday afternoon, so I called Roto-Rooters to have someone come and resolve the issue. The person who came was named Van. He had actually serviced my townhouse 6 years ago when the main cause of the problem was tree root blocking the drain line and clogging up the water. And today he diagnosed it to be the same issue, so he contacted WSSC directly to inform them of the main problem. He was very helpful in fixing the drain clog, explaining what was the primary cause and how to contact him through Roto-Rooters and/or contacting WSSC directly if it happened again. Mr. Paul Swisher with ID # 1903 did an excellent job. He spent more than two hours to view inside the sewage pipe. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He spent quite some time to explain everything to us so that we can understand the situation too and answered all our questions. I highly recommend him without any reservation.

Mr. Dama Fanai came to my house and did a fantastic job. He was professional and arrived on time. He analyzed the situation, explained it to me, and made a recommendation. I would recommend them for their quality and professionalism, but make sure you do some homework on pricing.*Original Review---The service was fast and professional, but $700 to fix 3 small leaks in a gas line. That's for 1 hr of labor, no parts...that is unjustifiable. Do just a bit of research and go with another company.

Emmanuel was great! He responded very fast with reliable same day service. Emmanuel came through the front door and noticed that my 2yrs old had a play mat covering the living room floor and he put plastic covers over his shoes. He was very informative about what was going on and kept me posted about every step. We had a major clog in our pipes that was sending water from the kitchen sink down to the basement, flooding the sink. He removed a black grease clog. His service was very quick the job was done in less than an hour. Thank You Emmanuel. We will definitely be using their sevices in the future.

The plumber diagnosed the problem quickly, seemed to know exactly what to do, got to work quickly and resolved the issue (a hair-clogged drain).Sure, it may be a relative simply job as far as plumbing issues go, but at least there was no gloom and doom story from the plumber - he just set about doing the work. He even gave me a $200 discount and sold us a bottle of drain cleaner (think a branded liquid plumber) for less than what I would have paid in the store.So, overall, I'd use Roto Rooter again. Oh, and by the way, I love the free estimates.

Roto-Rooter was a rainbow on a very cloudy, rainy day. I was having a Murphys-law-kind-of-day. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. But Roto-Rooter was the most helpful, friendly, and professional company I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. Called on Labor Day and had someone at the home within 2 hours. Great service and diagnosed our issue and is headed back today to finish repairing. Rosiam was great and very helpful!

Messed up the plumping on our kitchen sink and would not stand behind it when we discovered the leaking a few months later. Blamed us for not noticing sooner, when it was intermittent and pooling inside the ceiling. Will never work with them again.

My home experienced a number of plumbing issues. Roto Rooter showed at my home on March 25 around 4pm after having called at 2pm. So they finally arrived and by that time, I was knee deep in 3in of water. So the plumber repaired the broken pipe in the closet and moved on and fix the issues with the toilet, which turned out to be a sewage backup in my front yard, which caused the toilet to backup. He finally finished completing the job around 5:30pm. After he leaves, I had to wait for the restoration team to show up, which was about an hour and half past the time they said they'd be there. So the restoration team goes about cleaning up the water and around maybe 10:30 the same pipe that I paid 798.00 to fix burst again and water is gushing out of the closet. They were able to turn the water of pretty quickly after, I alerted them to where the main panel existed. At that point, they had to call in another plumber who arrived at my house at 11pm and didn't leave until 2:20am. I will never ever use this company again for anything and I definitely won't use their restoration team for any clean up and wouldn't advise anybody that I know to use their plumbing or restoration services. The service sucked and the quality of work was lackluster at best.......

As usual, plumbing issues never happen at a convenient time. To make a long story short, we had a shower that would not turn off in the evening. We had an emergency technician come out but by the time he was able to get here, it wasn't possible to get the part needed.Thankfully, in the morning technician Lal Zaua (2036) was assigned and showed up early. He did a thorough assessment and I could tell he was capable and confident in being able to resolve the issue. He had to leave to get the part and was able to fix it in a much shorter time that we expected. He was also very good about explaining the issue and the solution, so we understood exactly what was being done and what we were paying for. Lal was competent and personable and left a very positive impression for our first experience with Roto-Rooter, and we will certainly call them again and ask for Lal, for our future plumbing needs.

My kitchen sink was clogged on New Year's Eve (11:15 pm) but I was able to hold off calling until the next day. On New Year's Day I called Roto-Rooter and they sent Nicky out within 2 hours. He was professional and explained to me my problem. His assessment was correct. He even showed me how my plumbing entered and exited from the house. Nicky was patient and I never felt rushed or obligated. He did a great job in about 1-1/2 hours, and cleaned up the very little mess that was made. I now have knowledge about my plumbing. I was surprised by the price but it was great service, very professional, prompt and included a 6 month warranty. Overall, I will use Roto-Rooter and Nicky again!

Arrived one hour after call. Technician was knowledgeable and quickly cleared the drain; however, in clearing the clog pulled out part of a tree root indicating reason for clog. As part of the service a technician will scope the pipe and determine the severity of the problem. Once the root of the problem (got to love bad puns) Roto-Rooter techs should be able to fix it. One stop shopping is awesome.

John P. and Mawi did a spectacular job -- on short notice -- effectively addressing multiple problems just before thanksgiving with family on their way to our house -- including a number of leaks, replacing a toilet seal, and successfully snaking out two drains. Quick response and clogged drain was cleared all within three hours... My bathroom sink was draining very slowly. The technician cleared the drain in about 30 - 45 minutes. However the rate was too expensive. Initially he quoted $460, when I said the price was too expensive and that I'd try to find someone else he reduced the price to $380... I believe I was overcharged.

My kitchen sink clogged and stopped draining. I called Roto-Rooter immediately because I was happy with the good service they had provided me a few years ago. A technician named Lal (#1119) was dispatched and arrived about 90 minutes after I called. The quote he gave me seamed a little high at first but I look back at the ole saying YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I got very good, prompt service for a very reasonable price! In less than an hour after the technician arrived, my drain was unclogged and doing what it was designed to do.

Excellent, expert service from a professional! Would definitely use this service again! Hopefully I won't need it.This is my second time using Roto-Rooter. I had drainage plumbing issues in both instances. Josue, our tech was very professional the first time he came out and was able to fix the plumbing issue with one of our lower level bathrooms. When he said he done, I ran every faucet and flushed every toilet in my house to make sure there were no issues. He was happy to stand by while I ran my test even though it was nearly midnight. He promised he wouldn't leave until I was satisfied. Once everything checked out, he was on his way.Now, for my most recent experience today 4/13/16. I started to notice slow drainage in one of my upper level bathrooms. In my attempt to unclog the drain myself, I think I actually made matters worse. I ended up flooding my lower level bathroom again, and put my other bathrooms and kitchen out of commission.Since I didn't have Josue's info. from my first service request, I figured I'd call around and see if I could get someone to come out. First place I called said, two weeks. The next place said, we only work in Maryland and Virginia. Giving up on contacting some other company, I figured I call Roto-Rooter and just ask for the guy that came out last time. They said they couldn't guarantee that he would be available, but they would send someone either way. Also, since I was not going to be able to be home when the tech they where sending arrived, it was important to me that they sent the same guy because he was going to be at my house wife my pregnant wife. I didn't want anyone to take advantage of her and wanted her to be comfortable.Anyhow, to our surprise, Josue showed up again and was extremely pleasant, personable, and professional! He snaked the drains in multiple areas in my house and fixed a leaky faucet that, let's face it, I was completely avoiding having to repair myself. In addition to fixing my plumbing issues, he gave me some great maintenance tips.With all this said, all is well in my home now, thanks to Josue! If I'm ever in need for a plumber, I'm calling Roto-Rooter and requesting him!

I was told by another plumber who had been at our house for a different issue that he noticed the water backing up in our tub, but he would probably not be the cheapest to check it out. After calling around we got several qutoes and several people saying they could come Monday morning (this was a Sunday). Roto-Rooter, however; sent a person to my house within a few hours and the technician, Conrad #1635, was able to diagnose the real issue and do a cost match to the lowest other quote I got. He cleared my drain lines, showed me what he pulled out, and gave me some preventative tips for the future. It was very nice that he showed up on time and was done in a timely fashion.

I called roto rooter for a blocked storm drain. They came and snaked my storm drain. They charged me $400 for this with a 30 day gaurantee. It rained the following week. It flooded again. They snaked my toilet drain. Apparently my 30 day guarantee was good for nothing becuase they charged me $675 for this. I called Roto-rooter about this and they told me that if it was found that the city's sewer system was the problem, then I would not be charged, and they would contact the city. Later that evening the plumber called me to inform me that it was the cities problem AND to ask me for $675. I paid out of courtesy(dumb mistake), and called customer service back. I could not reach who I previously spoke to, and they directed me to a manager.The manager told me I was misinformed and that I would be charged.1. Roto-rooter does not honor its 30 day guarantee2. Someone at roto rooter is lying about the customer's responsibility when the city is the problem. Or, their policy is simply about how much money they can get out of your pocket.I would not go to roto-rooter again, as their policies for protecting the customer are falsely stated claims. I caution other home-owners before calling Roto-Rooter.

Three years ago this January I closed on my first home. A few weeks later I noticed that the hot water hose connected to my washing machine didn't spew hot water like it should. The water trickled out like something was blocking it. I had one of the contractors who worked on the house look at it and he said that he'd have to chop the wall down to access the pipe he needed to access to fix it. I didn't want to put a hole in my new house so I decided to wash on the cold setting until further notice.Well, my dryer broke not too long ago and I finally decided to get it fixed this week. (It's been months.) Since I had to pull the washer and dryer out of the closet I decided to check the hot water hose. Once again, the water trickled out like something was blocking it. Frustrated, I got on YouTube this morning to see if I could figure out how to fix it myself. (I saw a YouTube video online where a plumber snaked a pipe to unclog it.) Maybe a plumber could do the same for my hot water hose, I thought.I decided to have Roto-Rooter come out tonight and try to fix it. (The dryer is being fixed tomorrow morning.) I told them I only wanted them to fix it if they didn't have to chop down the wall. The guy looked at me confused. After an hour or so of tinkering the guy discovered that it just needed a new valve. Three years of washing on cold and it just needed a new valve...Always get a second opinion. That's the first lesson. Still pondering on all of the lessons learned in that moment... Wow. The service is the best you can find period. Maung Nu was very pragmatic and extremely professional. He took care of not damaging the basement with his equipment and his working space was super clean after he worked on clearing the sewage line. He worked very fast in 1 hour he was done. James Lian arrived at my home within two hours of my telephone call to clean the storm drain after a severe rain fall. He worked quickly, professionally, efficiently and completed the task -- 60 feet of cable deployed -- in a couple of hours. Very pleasant fellow as well.

The chain connected to the flushing handle on my toilet broke just before 10:00 p.m. last night, making the toilet useless. Thank goodness I knew who to call—Roto Rooter! They’ve responded to two previous plumbing emergencies that happened later in the evening, including one that happened just a couple of months ago. And once again, they really came through for me.I want to thank Ingrid for taking my call and for her very efficient and kind service. After quickly making sure she had all the info she needed, she assured me that a plumber had been dispatched and would be at my house within the hour.Sure enough, Conrad arrived just after 11:00. He immediately determined what was going on and replaced the chain inside the tank, which had rusted through. Conrad also took the time to make sure all the replacement parts he installed were working properly before he left, which took about 45 minutes. The only part he couldn’t replace was the handle itself because this particular toilet’s handle isn’t a common part, he wasn’t able to replace it, but he offered to see if he could find the part for me—on his own time. No worries, though. The toilet is working great and is even much quieter than before. Thanks, Conrad!!I have to say this—there are several plumbers in my area who claim they offer emergency services, but it’s NOT true. One company even has the nerve to have their customers leave voice mail messages and promise to return emergency calls THE NEXT MORNING. Roto Rooter is the ONLY company that actually has emergency service.Yes, you’re going to pay more, but they are worth every penny! I guarantee you—the cash you save by using one of the “pretenders” won’t help you at all when your toilet stops working at 10:00 p.m.!All I can say is, Roto Rooter, thank you for everything!!!

Roto Rooter was wonderful! They were running later than originally anticipated, but their excellent customer service team continued to provide updates. The technician was extremely helpful and was able to address our concern.

My kitchen sink backed-up just as we were about the leave on a family vacation!! Called Roto-Rooter and was able to get same-day service at no extra charge!! Kam came out and cleared the sink; although it took over an hour to get the situation under control, Kam was a champion!! He explained everything as he worked AND offered suggestions on how to prevent further problems. Will certainly contact Roto-Router for any future plumbing needs!!

The service technician fixed my plumbing issue. 5 stars for Conrad! However, the Roto-Rooter recording and the representative said there was no service charge, but Conrad said for him to start the work, the fee was $299.00....sounds like a service charge to me...Total bill was $315 so I was pleased the work effort was included in the $299.

Our plumber Gary kept in close touch with his office when he learned he would be late, which explains why his review isn;t perfectHe was very courteous, closely examining the problem and informing us of the options. He was able to offer us a small discount which he explained. He was very efficient and didn't rush, explaining the steps one by one.The next time we were visited by Anthony, who was also very courteous and thorough. This was altogether a pleasant arrangement, quite a difference from other plumbers I've had come out in the past! I would be happy to recommend Roto-rooter service for friends and neighbors.

The only reason they didn't get a five was that they were late for my service window (about 2 hours.) Our technician was fantastic and took time to explain everything to me. He figured out a solution to our really challenging plumbing issue - leaking booster pump. He also found rust on our hot water heater resolved that issue.

Two weeks ago they came out to unclog a toilet down which my son had tried to flush many baby wipes. Today it was backing up again, although I thought we had kept him away. Their guarantee is only for one week, but after some discussion they agreed to take a look and credit me if the problem dated back to the first visit which seemed only fair. Alas for me, it was more baby wipes. I paid (not cheap, but no plumber is). For both calls I got through on the phone quickly, the technician came quickly (on a weekend), was considerate, and did a good job. Thanks this time to Van (#1503). Will use again if necessary, which I hope it never is!

He gave a competitive price for the work, had to go 20 feet down drain to clear, recognized that disposal was not functional and replaced with new one, completed job very efficiently and timely, ans was extremely friendly. My kudos to him. I would call for him to come again.

I had the best experience with Roto-Rooter. It was Mother's Day morning and I had water in my basement. I called them and Bonnie answered the phone and was an absolute pleasure to speak with. Within 2 hours Ngura (4386) was at my home. He was super professional, knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything to me, in plain language. He went above and beyond to make sure that my problem was solved. He even showed me an electrical issue that I now need to handle. If not for him, there could have been a lot more damage. Had a great experience with roto-rooter the tech#798 Sohail was very knowledgeable and very professional and went above and beyond with his service . Even tho I was a little surprise by the $460 bill I was still satisfied with the overall service. I still ending up saving $40 with the online promotion . The technicians (all of them including the recovery/mitigation team) were Great. Very friendly. Explained everything. Very helpful. The ONLY reason this was not a 5 star was because it took several hours for them to be about to get to my house. But, in their defense, there were a lot of issues in the area and not one of them could get to my house in a very timely manner.

House developed a drainage problem (completely stopped drain) on Friday evening. Roto-rooter sent a tech out the same night, and he was able to quickly solve the problem. Overall the tech was prompt and courteous. The service was pretty expensive so you might want to call a local plumber if it's during normal hours, but for after-hours emergencies they're a great option.

Josh (tech 5765) was great!!!!! He found and fixed the problem immediately. He explained the possible issues and cost. He's very knowledgeable and skilled. his customer service skills a SUPERB and I'll be requesting him personally for my next plumbing project. Thank you Josh and Roto-Rotor.

Lal Z. # 2036 is a great plumber. He took his time explaining the process and questions I had about his tools. Very pleasant experience. And of course he unclogged my main sewer line. I'll definitely use Roto-Rooter's services again...if needed.

Khiangte and his partner were on time, very nice, completed their work efficently and left no mess behind. Roto Rooter even sent over Jason, a water damage and restoration expert over to use a thermal imaging gun to ensure no leaks or water damage was coming from my unit. 100% recommend.

We had a great experience with Joe when he had to come out and hydro-jet our sewer line for a blockage that was too far down to reach with a snake. He had it taken care of in about 2 hours and didn't leave a mess! We hope we never have to call a plumber for this kind of issue again, but if we do, we'll definitely be calling Roto-Rooter. Thanks!

Really pleased with the response time and professional examination. I was afraid I had a leak in my wall. Both a plumber and a technician came out the same morning I called, examined the area, and determined there was not an issue.

My sump pump failed and my basement had about 4 inches of water in it. I called RotoRooter at around 6am and got an immediate response.My representative, Jenn, came to my house and walked me through the entire process. She helped me get the insurance claim started, explained in detail the services that would be provided, coordinated the plumber and cleanup team, and just made me feel better about the whole process.This will be my go to plumbing service from here on in.

I had an issue with a toilet in my house and Khiangte serviced the issue. I was very happy with the service. Khiangte arrived on time, quickly assessed the issue and explained my options very well. I agreed to have the issue corrected and Khiangte fixed the problem quickly. I will definitely consult Roto Rooter for any future needs.

Horrible! Not only were they dishonest about the work they did and are still trying to charge us for services not rendered but their employees harassed me asking for dates, openly talking to each other about it and asking for information about my home that did not pertain to the work they were called out to do. Only dinged 1 star because they couldn't make the time promised late at night. Rescheduled for first thing in the morning and they came right on time (early even). David did a great job. He was very professional, quick, and helpful with any questions I had. Would definitely consider calling again for plumbing issues.

We had a clogged sewer pipe late at night and we called the company for service. The technician came the next morning and cleared the pipe. He was courteous and informative. He covered the floor and left the premise fairly clean. Another technician came later to take a picture of what is inside the pipe and told us that we have to replace the pipe because it was in bad shape. The crew came in couple of days and replaced the pipe.The technician with the camera and the crew that worked outside were very nice. They finished the job in two days and did what they said that they are going to do. Hopefully we will not have problems with sewage clogging anymore.

The main drain was clogged and backing up into the kitchen sink. It was really late in the evening and none of the plumbing companies were willing to come to unclog the drain, but David and Tony from Roto Rooter plumbing came immediately and unclogged the drain. Roto Rooter is really the place to call if you have water damage and need to get quality remediation. Our sump pump malfunctioned during Hurricane Matthew and water was all over the basement, all of this took place on Sunday morning. I called Roto Rooter and they dispatched a plumber to come out to access the situation. Mr. L.K. was at our home within 45 minutes from my initial call to Roto Rooter. Mr. L K. replaced our sump pump and about 15 minutes after the plumber came on site, Water Restoration Specialist, Jason Nelson (#1599) called.Mr. Nelson is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. He was really accommodating and was at our home within an hour of our conversation. He came over and looked at the crawlspace and the house above in great detail to verify there was extensive water damage and excessive moisture in the structure, all while explaining in very clear terms what he was looking for and why. The Water Restoration Team had an impressive array of diagnostic equipment. Mike (#3603) and Matt(#1247) came every day to monitor and adjust as needed. Jason, Mike, Matt and the rest of the Water Restoration Team were very professional, courteous, and well trained. They paid attention to detail, cleaned up after each day's work and showed great punctuality. I was also amazed by the amount of pictures they took to document the initial conditions and the progress.Compared to other companies out there, I found Roto Rooter a lot more rigorous and process oriented. They know how to get things done and they follow proven methods instead of experimenting around. I would highly recommend calling them if you are looking for that type of professional service.

We had a leak and ended up with water coming down a wall and putting a hole in the ceiling.My partner does construction but was on a job and water damage can be pretty serious, so I called an emergency plumber. I work from home, and had deadlines, so was hoping it would be efficient.I was told the assessment and quote were free. The plumber who showed up spent 3 hours running around the house inspecting every pipe and drain from the bottom floor up (townhouse), asking for my help, making me wiggle pipes and hold flashlights for him.At one point he left to go to home Depot to buy a ladder and came back.He thought it was about 4 different things before eventually deciding it was a small hole in my kitchen faucet that had been leaking. He wanted to charge $780 for labor and $250 for the faucet.Apparently, the quote stops and the work begins as soon as he gets his tools out of his truck, and the entire time he had been in my house he had been on the clock (minus his little shopping trip).The guy took so long that my partner got home from work while the plumber was trying to talk me into a $1k bill. My partner fired the plumber and replaced the faucet in 10 minutes. The part cost $110.
