I’ve gone to Durance Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs over the past 10 years in two different houses. They are by far the most professional, provide the best value and perform the best work. Kirk and Adam are the most honest plumbers you will ever encounter. We just had to have a new hot water heater replaced and decided to get several quotes. Durance Plumbing was much lower than their competitors and they did amazing work! Hands down the best plumbers in the DC Metro area, and most importantly you’ll pay the fairest price due to their honesty and integrity. Fully recommend you call them first for your plumbing needs!

I have used ROTO Rooter many times. It's a very good service and reliable. I just wish their were not so damn expensive. 600 dollars to use a snake? Come on guys you make me want to go to home depot and just buy one and do it myself.Lower the price and I won't grumble and will only use you.

Last week I had an issue with my water heater. I called 3 companies, 2 of them told me I needed a new water heater. The 3rd company I called was Plumber In DC and spoke with the owner Mike. He told me over the phone what to look for and diagnosed the issue. He was able to fix it for a very cheap price. I feel like there are so many companies out there ready to scam you. Mike is one of the honest companies left here in DC.

Water heater stopped working. Came out the same day Found a temporary fix and gave us an honest evaluation of the situation. Would recommend him to anyone.

I recently used Capitol handyman for a kitchen renovation project. They do an extremely thorough job, not missing any structural or aesthetic details. Easy to work and communicate with, timely, and honest. My kitchen space had some tricky aspects to it and they didn’t stop until they got everything exactly right. The end result is beautiful and I would highly recommend for any household projects.

In years of using plumbers both personally and professionally I've never encountered pricing policies as opaque as WL Gary's. They charged over $250 for the plumber to buy basic toilet repair parts. They charged for the plumber's time to generate an invoice even though it's automated. They charge for a full day's rental of a plumbing repair device that's stocked on the truck and was used for less than an hour. The basic quality of the real plumbing work appears to have been good, and the plumber was pleasant to deal with, but he did have to return to fix a problem with that expensive toilet repair. All in, I can't recall having felt so gouged by a company's pricing and will never darken their doorstep again.

Called last Thursday to schedule an appointment, we agreed upon 11-1 on Monday. I came home early from work, and took vacation time to stay at home to wait for the tech. No Show. They finally called at 345 asking if they could reschedule. Cant trust someone to fix a furnace, if they cant meet the basic obligation of an appointment. Will be looking for new company to do the work.
