If you are like me when it comes to repairs I am just used to opening my wallet and let myself be robbed because of not being mechanically inclined. I got three estimate for repair to my AC unit and was given a range of 3000 to 5500 dollars being told this was needed, that was needed and so on. Anyway with money being tight I tried one more estimate and contacted James Dodd Plumbing and Air. The office staff was very friendly and was able to get Mr. Dodd himself out there the same day. So what the other repair places made seem like the end of the world turned out that just a minor repair was needed and the cost was minor. I was so relieved. So yes 'Virginia' there is a honest repair man out there. If you are looking for honesty, professionalism and people that follow through go with James Dodd Plumbing and Air.

Having Scott out to give me an estimate was a complete waste of time. I was looking for an estimate on replacing old ducts with new metal duct work. He kept talking about installing Flex duct, which I was not interested in, and then finally gave me an inflated ridiculous price estimate for the work. I sent him packing. I since received multiple estimates for the same work, at 10K less than,his quote! A shame, as I have used American Mechanical for years at other properties and found them to be good quality work at fair prices.

Run, don't call. The plumber sent out did not know the system, and the cost was 3 times as much as it should have been. Then the plumbing part failed within 60 days, and it was returned to the warehouse where the owner got a refund for the bad part. This was verified from the manufacture. The owner promised a refund and to adjust my bill. Never happened. He is still promising to return the money he pocketed from the manufacture after 5 months. I called in another plumber to repair my issue after waiting weeks for Blessings. Having an answering service is not customer service. Stay away.

Me and my wife just moved into our home and we were experiencing electrical issues in 2 bedrooms. Sam, our technician, came out and was able to diagnose our issues rather quickly. The two technicians that came out to my property were some of the most professional people I've ever met. The young lady in particular (Meg) I want to give a great thanks to. Meg unselfishly exhausted all options until she was satisfied with my request of getting more pressure in my shower. I've never seen an individual who was that persistent in finding the solution to the problem. There was a gentleman with Meg and I believe his name was Ryan but could be wrong. He was unbelievably remarkable as well with his expertise!

I am quite upset because Betty's name is still being used and they do not honor work that had already begun in North Carolina saying they have been taken over by Atlantic and Atlantic doesn't have a NC license. This unit cost $5.300.00 and we can't get a company in NC that will take over Betty's contract. We even paid for labor & parts to be good until 2021. We trusted Betty's and want to know why they can't acquire a NC license to honor their contracts if they are going to continue advertising. Where does that leave all the rest of the people that trusted them in N.C. I lived in Newport News all my life and referred Betty's to everyone I know. I can't even get Betty's Supervisor or owner to call back to talk to them. Help somebody!
We have been dealing with this over three weeks. The water of condensation falls straight through to the duck work and pulled it down. My husband is in his 80's and crawled under the house and saw what has happened. The drain is not clogged. The water just goes straight through. We shut off the unit so no more damage can be done. We don't want to mess up our warranty knowing this. Here is a warning to all residents in N.C.
