Over the phone he asked me to check something before he came out where I would be charged. With his advice I was able to get my outdoor faucet working. Excellent service!!!  I used Angie's List and after having different companies to come out to show their products and offer estimates for installation of an entire HVAC system, we decided upon Guy Smith Heating and Cooling of Virginia Bch. They offered a highly qualified system and a more appealing payment plan. From Blake, the sales representative, to the actual technicians/installers, they were all prompt, courteous and professional. I personally want tothank the technicians for their HARD WORK ethics and professional installation of our new central air and heating system. Already, we are super happy with its performance!  Lastly, be safe and exercise precautions while going in and out of people's homes as we live through this COVID-19 pandemic. Blessings to all!

Robin at Baybreeze made a shocking number of mistakes when hired to fix an exterior gas leak, dragging out what should have been done in 3 days to a full 3 weeks.

After ‘fixing’ the leak the first time, we learned from the city that his work failed inspection, and the lines were still leaking. After ‘fixing’ it a second time, VBG turned our gas back on, but the technician discovered an uncapped line spilling out beneath our deck. Had the technician not caught this and corrected Robin’s negligence, the consequences could have easily been catastrophic for us.

After coming out a third time, the leaks were finally fixed and the lines capped, but he proceeded to install a valve he’d removed earlier for no clear reason (it wasn’t the one leaking) in the wrong spot, and we ended up once again with gas cut off to our gas pack furnace, and our tankless water heater.

After all of this was finally settled, he proceeded to overcharge us by about $250 above what we’d agreed upon, citing the cost of a second pressure test (a test that would not have been necessary had he simply done his job right the first, or even second time around).

Robin was full of excuses at every turn, but all in all, based on my experience he and his company did not demonstrate the competence or reliability necessary to safely work on natural gas. I feel he left my home and my family at risk, and I cannot recommend that anyone hire him in the future.

I called A-1 at 1000 this morning, technician Mike arrived at 1200. In 2.5 hours he installed three water shutoff valves and flex hoses for two toilets and a sink, and also rebuilt and reinstalled two 70 year old toilets. The original 70 year old brass flushing valves on both toilets were corroded solid to the tank, but Mike worked with care, and was able to remove both, saving my original-to-the-house, color coordinated 1955 porcelain toilets. I was thrilled, thought it couldn't be done without breaking the porcelain. He also had to saw-off one corroded bolt. Mike worked efficiently and clearly is an expert in his field. Thank you, Mike!!

Brandon W. Came out and got our system up and running in a timely manner! Our previous company (that is no longer responding to my calls) had not been able to accomplish this in the last 4 months, with techs coming out every couple of weeks. I’m so glad that I reached out to the manufacturer and they recommended American Mechanical. I now have a company that is reputable, knowledgeable, and has great employees!!

This company has done more than just what they did this morning. They replaced my hot water heater and replaced my ignitor when it went bad under warranty. They will continue to get my business. And I thank you guys for the speedy work ythat you do!

It is never difficult to get them on the phone and I really appreciate that. The staff is very professional and helpful. I did not wind up needing a leak detection service yet but if I ever do in the future I will definitely be using their services.

This company is local and I couldn't ask for any better service. When I called they actually answered the phone and scheduled me right away. The owner and another guy came to do the job and I had a ton of stuff to ask about the plumbing in my 1962 home. They fixed the washing machine backup into my kitchen sink without any problems. I asked if they could give me an estimate on replacing my main line and rerouting my pipes since I live on a slab and they measured everything and gave me an estimate right then. I was shocked, I kept saying they didn't have to do it right now but they assured me it wouldn't take long at all. I was very impressed with their willingness to help me find a solution, the price of the estimate and the price for this service call. I won't ever have to search for another plumber because they are the best in my opinion.

Jim is awesome! We highly recommend him. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. And what we love is that he also educates us on plumbing issues and how to resolve it. He is definitely our plumber for life! Thank you Jim and his crew

You have a customer for life. Curtis and Dean are as professional as it gets. They looked at the situation and got straight to work. They gathered materials and before I knew it they were at the door asking me to test their work. I wish I would have called this company sooner.
