The job was done fine but it's clear they overcharge. The prices are ridiculous for the services offered. They’re on the highest end possible for all services. Additionally, the 100$ service charge whether or not services are accepted is akin to forcing customers to accept awful prices or suffer a 100$ loss. This feels especially criminal as it is not explained before the technician shows up. Even if a customer found an honest and fair company to use afterwards with the blanket 100$ charge it makes the prospect unattractive, which is I'm sure, the company's intent.

Personally, the technician diagnosed that a 12$ component had failed. And charged 400$ to replace it. Took the man all of 10 minutes. I tried to argue the ridiculous price and even referred to other companies’ prices for such services and he just kept saying, cost of doing business”

Finally a plumbing company that cares for the customer. Stop using the big box companies that only care about the $$$. Use family & locally owned companies.

I put in a request for an estimate at like 9PM, Dave's father (who was incredibly pleasant) reached out to me within 20 minutes and made my appointment for my estimate the next morning. Dave came over and was very professional, polite, and a genuinely enjoyable person to talk to. I would absolutely recommend their services and will be using them again for any future plumbing projects.

Michael M, the technician, made installing a new pump in my a.c. unit a priority. He was thoroughly professional, very friendly, neat and orderly and got the job done in a timely manner. Highly recommended.

UPDATE. We were supposed to have hydro scrub and Picote applied. I had such high hopes based on their sales guy. First they showed without calling, we were told they would call while on route to us. We never received the contract/work order and the techs that showed up had not reviewed it so they didn’t do the kitchen hydro that was part of the project scope. They had already started the Picote so could no longer do the kitchen because the Picote can not get wet for several hours. They did promise to come back next week, but I am not confident of that. But the biggest issue was they flooded my main bathroom and hall with disgusting overflow, not just once but twice. They told us this was due to a “low flange”. Though we never had any issues with it. To their credit they added a flange cover. They did a cursory clean up but we just had LVT installed in that flooded bathroom. It’s unknown what will come of that water getting under there (it was a lot of overflow!). The water in the bathroom closet was never cleaned up till we did it so sat for several hours. They told us they couldn’t clean the overflow that came up thru the tub (since the Picote cat get wet) but should have done so immediately after the overflows or at least with some cleaner and a rag! We haven’t received the promised video of the before and after. Outside area not returned to prior state (where they went into the clean out). Overall super disappointed. Credit them for doing the hydro a couple of times to get pipe cleaned. . Original post: Jonathan was and professional for our estimate. I'm overjoyed to have found Jeremy Knipe, the owner of Northern Plumbing. He hydrojetted my drain lines, which were filled with gunk. I'd been having continual problems with the toilet in my master bathroom, which had overfloweed and backed up into my shower and bathtub mutiple times since I bought the house about four years ago. My kitchen sink was also nearly plugged. Now the drain is fast.

It's not only that Jeremy did a great job, but he exudes integrity, which to me is the most important trait in any tradesperson. Something I didn't realize is that the licensing requirements for plumbers in Florida are very weak compared to those up north. Jeremy is from Boston, where requirements are far more stringent than they are here in Florida, and where Jeremy had extensive education in plumbing.

Jeremy is also very personable, and took the time to explain everything to me and to answer all my questions.

I've found my (hopefully) permanent plumber!
