Best Clogged Pipes in San Francisco CA

James and James plumbing is by far the best plumbing outfit I have ever come across. I have had numerous issues with plumbing and James and James have always been there to save the day! Toilet was plugged and leaking at floor. Ron removed the toilet and showed me that part of the the wax ring was missing. He also showed me that there was standing water near the top of waste pipe which he said indicated that the waste pipe was blocked. He ran a snake down the waste pipe and found roots were blocking the pipe. He cleared the pipe, replaced the wax ring and reset the toilet and flushed several times and everything flushed good with no more leaks. Ron cleaned up the area really good before he left. Ron was very friendly and professional and would highly reccomend his service again.

I started the job myself below the sink and got stuck. David and Jerwyn were on time, professional and clear communicating fix options and costs. They fixed leak under sink and installed shower parts I had. Friendly, helpful and I learned some helpful plumbing tips!

Do your homework before hiring any plumber so you know what the job should cost.

I hired A-1 to snake my water line that was backing up into the garage, they were fast a d did a good job. It was $500 for the service
]]however they should have checked the shower in the garage as well.After they left that evening we discovered the line was backing up into the garage shower so we called them back..They refused to return u less we paid another $500 they said on e they left the job the case was closed and they did. Not warranty their work. Il Ne er work with them again they did not even offer a discount.

Please be forewarned. Smelly Mel's Plumbing does not deal in good faith when something goes wrong with their work. I would highly discourage hiring them for anything. We were awarded $1,000 in small claims court because Smelly Mel’s cashed a four year old check after a previous small claims judgement with them was settled. It has been a year, and they have broken the law as they have not paid the judgement. If they ever pay us what the judge awarded us, I will take down this review.

unprofessional and irresponsible

Of the plumbers we got quotes from, the were not only reasonably priced, but prompt, responsive, and clear in explaining the rationale between the work they do and don't recommend. Several other plumbers recommended more drastic work, but they respectfully disagreed and told us why. I respect that honesty and professionalism and would recommend them.

These guys are great, they replaced a water heater about a year ago. Gave me an estimate based on a photo I sent them and stuck to it. 2 flights up and a tight space...they were very efficient. I called them back last week because of a slow draining tub. They came that same day and fixed it within an hour. They are clean and courteous.
