I highly recommend Alvin with Serieux Plumbing. My wife and i hired him to hydro-jet and scope our main line in our 110 year-old home in Curtis Park. Alvin was up front from the beginning, charged us a fair rate to hydro-jet our main line and scoped out our pipes with his camera to verify they were in good condition. This was a major source of stress for us, and Alvin approached the situation sensibly and honestly. We haven't had any backups since hydro-jetting our mainline 4 months ago. I'm also crazy busy in grad school and he was able to handle this for me over the phone while I was in school. He's also a consummate gentleman, and my elderly mother-in-law--who lives with us and dealt with Alvin directly--was impressed with his professionalism and friendliness. Our water heater had a major leak. We called VanGo Rooter who was very professional and prompt. After explaining our water heater leak problem over the phone, VanGo Rooter sent Paul to assess the problem. Paul was very professional and explained what the issue was. We knew our water heater was too old and needed to be replaced. Paul confirmed that the water heater needed to be replaced due to the tank having a big hole at the bottom caused by rust and deteriorating water heater tank. Paul was able to replace our water heater the same day. We are very satisfied and happy with Paul. We will definitely use VanGo Rooter for future plumbing issues.

Today's experience...first of all they were prompt with a callback and someone came right out to give an estimate. After recieving an estimate for $745 to turn a gas pipe 180 degrees the homeowner balked. Went and got $20 worth of parts and a $20 wrench and completed the project in an hour...we had to turn off the gas and the estimate actually said that it was extra to relight the pilot light on the hot water heater...buyer beware

We have a toilet leak, this company came out twice, fixed the leak, and a little while after they left BOTH TIMES, the leak was back. Worse each time. We've been dealing with the issue for almost two months. It takes two weeks to schedule each time. You'd think that if you don't fix the problem, you'd send someone back out QUICKLY, at the very least two days, but no. My father in law just had surgery, so going upstairs was not an option for him, so we've been unable to turn the water off this entire time, soaking more than 6 towels per day.

Hopefully, this third time, when they finally get around, they can actually FIX the problem! Lets hope!
