Best Repair Project in Phoenix AZ

We used Arrowhead Deck & Pools to replace pool tile and update pool equipment. They showed up on time for all appointments, completed all work on schedule and were very professional throughout the process (I wish all contractors held themselves to AD&P’s standards).

My wife and I purchased our Home, a Midcentury Modern built in 1955 by Ralph Haver in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. The Home had original ungrounded wiring with exposed wire splicing. There were also two rooms that were added by a previous owner without permits.

Ultimately, we wanted to fully restore our Home to its original character, while at the same time, installing all of the safety, amenities and conveniences found in homes of new construction today.

We interviewed a handful of contactors for this task, Steve Shinn from Homework Remodels being one of them. Steve immediately stood out from the group. We found him easy to talk to, prompt and extremely knowledgeable with the historic characteristics of our Haver Home.

With Steve’s help, we nearly rebuilt most of the major components of our Home. When it was said and done, we upgraded the entire wiring and electric panel, installed new HVAC main unit and ducting lines, replaced all of the plumbing lines (both supply and drain lines including the sewer), installed LED recessed lighting throughout the Home, constructed a stem wall, a trench drain and added mini split HVAC units which the City required for issuing permits for the two unpermitted rooms, installed a 16” slider to the backyard, utilized steel beams to remove loan bearing walls in order to open up the kitchen and the living rooms, installed a tankless water heater system, applied sprayed insulation in the small attic, and performed various other upgrades.

We are very happy with Steve’s work. We found Steve’s work to be of high quality and found Steve’s expertise and creativity in helping rebuild our Haver Home to be invaluable.

We plan on hiring Steve in the near future to complete Phase 2 of our Home, which will include all of the finishes.

We needed help with a roof leak. Mikko came out personally and evaluated the problem with the leak, shared what he saw with us, and did the work the next day. We were very pleased with his promptness, professionalism, and the timely completion of the work. His drawings of the job to be done and his estimating process is right on so that all parties , Homeowner, Contractor and most important, the crew building the job know exactly what to do. I am extremely pleased with the services the Handyman Connection provided. Lew did some electrical work, added a locking latch to my attic scuttle hole, and did some minor roof work. He used creative problem solving techniques to get the job done and in a timely manner. What really comforted me was he has a tremendous amount of experience in the home building field, due to his own contractor business that he works during the regular year. I appreciate the experience Russ and his team has. He provided good advice and great workmanship while working through the small or big projects.

It has been 9 months since I did the Epoxy coating. There are random yellow stains from the elements that will not be removed. The upper coating has been peeling off from wear and tear.

The team was good to work with when they were doing the job but I have called a few times to see if they had any suggestions on how to remove these stains and there hasn't been a response.

The customer service is some of the best I’ve ever had. This was my first time getting anything remodeled and owner took time to explain everything step by step so I wasn’t in the dark about anything! He went above and beyond my expectations for my patio remodel and I couldn’t be happier!
