Best Routine Inspections in Columbus OH

I recently had Dan and Mike from Plumbing and Drain Professionals do some repairs in the house I am renting. They did such a wonderful job and were so accommodating that I felt compelled to contact you to tell you. Dan and Mike were incredibly professional and efficient in their troubleshooting of a very serious gas line problem. They were also pleasant company and kept the noise down to a dull roar. And not only did Dan and Mike perform miracles in this old house, but they were also willing and able to explain everything they were doing to a lay person and clean their work areas! They did a wonderful job, and in a really short amount of time. I couldn't be happier with the results.

We hired Benjamin Franklin due to the pretty solid reviews on google. And while I'm pleased to have a new toilet successfully installed and an existing one repaired, I'm less than impressed with the care taken while in our home.

1st Issue:
We opened the garage for them to enter and exit while they worked. At some point they decided to use the front door to enter and exit, which we had not unlocked or suggested they use. This is because we just repainted the front steps two days prior, and we didn't want anyone stepping on them.

2nd Issue:
It being a rainy afternoon I would have also expected for protective coverings to be worn on their work boots... so that additional mud/debris/feces wasn't tracked into our home, and they weren't worn.

3rd Issue:
The toilet we purchased ahead of time was sealed as I unsealed it after they got here... the parts they told us were missing were inside the box, so at this point I'm not sure if the newly installed toilet even has everything it needs.

4th Issue:
As they were leaving we checked the toilet that was repaired and attempted to flush it. It was clogged and I had to ask them to come back inside as they were already leaving.

All in all this wasn't a great experience by any measure. The quality of service and attention to detail was just not there. It's highly unlikely we'd choose to use this plumbing company in the future. We just spent the last two hours scouring the inside of our home and the freshly painted front steps to remove the mud/debris/feces that was left in their wake... Not to mention that we were advised at the last minute that it would be up to us to rid ourselves of the old toilet now sitting in our garage.

I needed an AC person cause my AC froze and was blowing hot air. Mike came out and explained my problem and some possible solutions for the future. He informed me of options on my furnace which is getting very old. Didn't try to sell anything but he was so informative, I will be calling him and the company this fall when looking to purchase new units.

I thought that Eddie was a very responsible and knowledgeable person! He helped me replace a ruptured pipe in my basement that could've caused some serious damage. He did it within a timely manner and had a fairly reasonable price. I would definitely recommend West Plumbing and Rooter services to all my friends and neighbours as I do to you all!

A friend of mine recommended Evolved and they helped us get our gas line up to code. Austin was responsive and professional. Will definitely reach out to them in the future!

This guy is very unreliable. He came to my home gave me a price and said he would have someone else come out to work on it later and he would call me to let me know what time the person would be over. i waited 3 hours before i called and asked him if they were still going to come he said he would call back and never did. he is very unprofessional and im glad i went somewhere else.

I hope you NEVER have an issue like we did the past few weeks. If you do, your first call should be to Chuck’s. 4 inches of standing water in the basement. Water level extinguishing the pilot light on the water heater. More rain and snow on the way.

We had 2 separate companies come out to snake the drain at our rental. The first guy was a small operator and was surprised when he couldn’t fix the drain issue. He was a solid guy, who I’d call again for small drain issues. This was a bigger issue and he was humble about what he could and couldn’t do.

The 2nd company is a large and local outfit that we've used before with success. Two days and multiple methods including the snake, jetter, and camera to see what the issue it. Then, they get their jetter stuck. They were 82-feet from the house, which was almost to the main sewer.

Multiple calls to the city. We get the drawings from the city and discover that the main sewer is 17-feet underground. Ok, now what? Company #2 now informs me that IF the issue is at 17-feet, the scope is too large for them. Shouldn't they know where the issue is? Calling other contractors to get estimates on what it’s going to cost to excavate the alley and fix the issue. I’m stressed. It’s going to cost HOW MUCH $$?!?! And, only a few outfits can successfully do this work. We’re going to need permits- $$$. There’s even more drama to this story but I’ll refrain from smearing company #2. Let’s just say, we’ve already spent $950, for 2 days’ worth of nothing and the problem isn’t fixed. Thankfully, our tenant was very patient and understanding.

So, we choose to have Chuck’s provide an estimate to pull a permit and excavate the alley. Prior to preparing the estimate, they schedule an on-site visit in order to determine the depth of the problem. And guess what. Chuck’s sends Cecil & Gerry to assess. These were the same 2 guys that company #2 called to get their jetter unstuck. I kind of knew then that these good ole boys had a lot more experience and I regret not calling them first. Unfortunately, company #2 wouldn’t let the “other” company try to snake the drain last week when they were on-site.
And, here I am writing this review for Chuck’s Septic and praising the experience of Cecil and Gerry. In less than 2 hours, they had the drain unclogged, had their camera all the way into the main sewer and my problem was…dare I say it… FIXED?! No excavation necessary. I’m overjoyed.
We learned a lot through this experience. 1. If the plumber uses a camera- request that they record it!! You’re paying for it, you should own this data 2. The homeowner is responsible for the sewer all the way to the tap-in point, even if the clog is in the alley.

Their site says 24hrs but it took them 4 days to come out for a call. Their excuse was that they were out of the office for the weekend. The appointment window was 1pm-5pm. The tech didn't arrive until almost 6pm. When the tech came out I explained that the water heater pilot light had kept going out. He didnt check any lines or open up the panel to check the components. He simply lit it again, said that it was fine since it stayed on almost 10 minutes. The same night the pilot light was out again.
