Rooterman of Columbus

So my home warranty company sent them out to me to diagnose my hot water heater. They never contacted me to schedule an appointment, I got the appointment date and time from my home warranty company, which i thought was odd) A guy showed up on the scheduled day and between the time the was allotted. He did his estimate and had me sign it and gave me a copy and stated that it would be a few days before i would hear back from the warranty company. Long story short, I got the approval, but when i called to schedule, no answer and left a voicemail. of course NEVER heard back from them, So ended up having another company come in and replace. so if this is how they treat Home Warranty customers, wonder how they treat paying customers. all i know is I would not call them for anything !!!!

My home warranty company contacted this company to fix a leak in our shower. A tech came out, told us the faucet needed to be replaced, and said he would be back in a week with parts to fix it. That was eight weeks ago. Since then I have called this company three times directly, our warranty company has contacted them twice. I understand issues come up but I can’t even get a call back or update.

DO NOT USE. If your warranty company assigns them, ask for a new one. They came out, inspected our water heater and said Yep you need a new one, here is the estimate $359 for the things the warranty company doesn't cover, sign here and we will order, could take 2-4weeks because of pandemic to get the tank in. I called to follow up, no answers (multiple times). Finally I got ahold of someone and he said Im busy but Ill call you back. Our warranty company got involved and also couldn't get ahold of them. I left multiple messages. Its over 2 mos now and no water heater, no response and they closed the ticket with the warranty company like they had done the work. Warranty company is going to take care of us with someone else but this company is not real.

The company was dispatched to fix my furnace from my warranty company. He showed up late to the appt, introduced himself as the plumber. Diagnosed it as a bad igniter said he had to order and would be in touch in 1-2 days. Took about 5 days still no call. I had to call him, voicemail was full. Sent someone else out, a completely different company. The guy said the igniter was fine and diagnosed it as a bad gas valve and bad board. I told the warranty company i wanted a second opinion. Come to find out, it was NONE of those things. The next company had it fixed in one quick service call.

So i Scheduled an appointment for them to do 2 repairs on my shower and faucet. I researched and saw all these bad reviews. so i called the day before to ensure they were still coming, they confirmed they would be there between 9-1 next day. So i took Next day off work and no one showed for the appointment. At 1pm i called and they said someone would be there they were just running late. So i waited until 3 i then began calling again, but was getting all calls ignored until i called from a different number, the call was answered on the first attempt... They said they were still coming just running late. I continued to wait no one ever showed up and i called multiple times with no response. Believe all the bad reviews, they completely wasted my day with zero remorse or care what so ever. Now i have to set time with another company and waste another day off of work. Terrible buisiness, i will forever tell people do not use them now

Their site says 24hrs but it took them 4 days to come out for a call. Their excuse was that they were out of the office for the weekend. The appointment window was 1pm-5pm. The tech didn't arrive until almost 6pm. When the tech came out I explained that the water heater pilot light had kept going out. He didnt check any lines or open up the panel to check the components. He simply lit it again, said that it was fine since it stayed on almost 10 minutes. The same night the pilot light was out again.

I filed a claim with my home warranty company for a plumbing vent issue we were having in May 2020, and was unfortunate enough to be assigned RooterMan to work with. i’m pretty sure the home warranty company picked the absolute worst business in Columbus to contract with so they could get out of their obligations, because that is exactly what happened.

RooterMan sent a tech to look at and diagnose the issue, he told us we would have to have a smoke test done to identify where the problem was coming from, and that it was obvious work needed to be done. From there it was radio silence. A couple weeks after he was here we called the warranty company to see what was going on, and they told us that RooterMan indicated that nothing needed to be done and they closed the claim, which directly contradicted what the tech told us while he was here.

I called RooterMan to see what was going on, and over the course of two weeks, called and spoke to the owner four times, and every time he was completely clueless about what was going on with his own business and said he would give me a call back each time (spoiler alert, he never contacted me once). Finally he had obviously started screening my calls, and I know this because he was dumb enough to answer after I immediately called from a different number. It’s now been over three months and I’ve still yet to get that call.

Thanks to the unprofessionalism, lack of care, and terrible customer service, I’m now in a permanent limbo with my claim, which I’ve accepted in just going to have to pay for myself. Save yourself a lot of headache and look for literally any other plumber in the city to work with.

Rooterman of Columbus was assigned to assess the cause of a leak by a home warranty company that we placed on Friday, August 28th. They were scheduled for Monday August 31, 2020 between 1-5pm.

I called Monday morning to confirm, and was assured someone would be out. No one showed up. I called shortly after 5pm Monday evening asking for an ETA, and was told they would check and call me right back. No one called me back. I called again around 6pm, they said they wouldn't be able to make it out that day and rescheduled for 1-5pm on Tuesday, September 1st.

I called three times on Tuesday, couldn't leave a voicemail due to a full mailbox and no one showed up. No one has called to follow up or reschedule and it's now September 9th.

I would not recommend them to anybody! They came to our house a few weeks ago to fix our garbage disposal, & our hot water tank. They fixed the garbage disposal, & it works great. The hot water tank? Not so much! They changed the setting on the HWT, & we thought that's all that was needed, but soon after they left, we noticed that our HWT was slowly dripping water onto our basement floor, & has been ever since. My husband called them, left a voicemail, & told them what was going on, & then I left them an email on their website, saying the same thing. We've heard absolutely nothing from them! We even paid them $75 for the service call for them to come out the one time that they did, & now, we can't get them to come back out here again!

I called many times and left voicemails to have my garbage disposal fixed. They never returned my calls. If you need plumbing fixed urgently go somewhere else. I waited over a week before contacting somewhere else. I did not have a professional feel from this company.

I had a backup in my basement the evening of the Ohio State-Michigan game. I tried calling several companies and not many answered. I reached Rooterman of Columbus and they were on another call and said they could come by late that evening or first thing next morning. As the flow of backup had slowed I told then the next morning would be fine. They showed up on time, fixed the issue, and were very reasonable considering it was a weekend service call. They were respectful of my home and even put on little booties to make sure nothing was tracked int the house. I highly recommend these guys!

7 times I had a scheduled appointment. 6 times no one called and no one showed up. 6 times I had to call them to find out what was going on. 6 times I was told they rescheduled the appointment without communicating that with me. The technician was great. The owner/manager was unresponsive, unhelpful, and does not know how to run a business of any sort, let alone one that deals with customers and schedules.

Absolute joke and a thief- he pulled permits and never completed the project and completely didn’t do anything with the gas lines that were on his contract. He didn’t do the work that was started to code and never completed anything— the owner is a liar. Everyday was a new excuse as to why they couldn’t do their work - (that had been paid for btw) All this company can do is install hot water tanks and snake drains... children playing plumber And business owner

I was assigned this contractor by my home warranty. They were not responsive to my voicemails and they were a no-call/no-show to the appointment that was scheduled.

I could give them 0 stars if I could - they don't know anything about plumbing - Please stay away even if they offer you service free of cost - complete waste of time and money !
