John Baethke is everything you can hope for out of a great plumber. Right on time, professional and they got the job done. Nathan, who came out to do the servicing was extremely transparent about everything he showed up to do as well as informing me about the additional items that needed immediate attention. Great experience, great company and I would highly recommend!!

I've not met too many plumbers that arrive to a service call with a smile. Yet Kelly-2771 arrived on time in freezing rain to my home to repair my leaky toilet. He was kind to me and my ginormous 5lb guard dog. Kelly was able to answer all of my concerns and didn't make me feel rushed. Fixed my issues with ease. Excellent customer service, Roto-Rooter always has the best service and availability. I depend on them for all of my plumbing needs.

Jan from Vanguard came by to fix a leaky pipe. They were able to fit me into their schedule, showed up exactly on time, fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes for a reasonable cost.

I have been contacting them for plumbing help for a few years now and they actually try their best to offer advice to help you fix small problems on your own before trying to charge you for services. They are my go to plumber and I frequently recommend them to others in the Chicago area.

Garbage disposal died and First Chicago Plumbing came out and took care of it quickly. The best part was that the plumber took the time to educate me on how my kitchen plumbing works. I learned a lot and feel like I now have an understanding of how it all works.

These guys are the best! We've used them for various projects over the years and they never disappoint. Most recently we had to get rid of our tankless water heater (providing heat & hot water) which was on the brink of falling apart. John & Chris gave us a range of options from cheapest to most expensive but they never gave us the hard sell. It was totally up to us how much we wanted to spend to solve the problem. I know people use the phrase above and beyond a lot, but Chris really did go above and beyond to make sure the installation was top-notch. I will be a customer for life.

They were very easy to work with and were able to get to my place within 3 days of contacting them. And they arrived well inside the two hour window provided to me. The plumber and staff were very professional. I would highly recommend!

The technician was great. He was at my house when he said he would be. He just had to change out a service line to the stool. I guessed a 15 minute job and he was done in under 5. The service was quick and professional. He answered all questions and was in no hurry to leave until I was satisfied. He also took the time to put ID tags on all of the main water lines in the house and gave some suggestions to keep everything in tip top shape. If I ever need a plumber again, it will be Sam's Plumbing And Rodding.

Matt quoted me the exact price I paid. My water heater was in the basement and was not an emergency replacement - by any stretch, but was leaking. I called him, just before the Holidays, and he worked his schedule as best he could considering the Holidays and running as an independent contractor. I would call Matt again in a heat beat!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mike or call him for another issue. I called Mike about our bathtub (we live in an older condo building), which suddenly wouldn’t drain and had standing water. I couldn’t find another plumber to come out within the day, but Mike didn’t hesitate - he actually got to us within an hour or two. He fixed a tough clog, and talked me through why it happened and what we could expect in the future. A month later, the tub is still draining perfectly.

Plumber was detailed oriented..and professional really knew the trade took time to diagnose the problema and save me a ton of money highly recommended..
