Jan, at Vanguard Plumbing, is the most knowledgeable tradesman I've ever had the pleasure of hiring. He explains in detail what the problem is, works quickly, and does the job right the first time. What he charges per hour is reasonable especially considering the quality of work he provides. Also, Jan is very communicative regarding appointments and is on time. I will always use Vanguard plumbing.

We called John in the morning after a large storm and he came over immediately. Was extremely personable and an actual delight to talk with! Troubleshot our leaky basement and walked us through the tell-tale signs and what to look for. Didn't just do the job, he taught us about the why/how of the leak.

Let's just say I have had a few plumbing issues this year. Everyone has been wonderful from the people who schedule the appointments (Cynthia, Jane, Marty, Holly) to the techs who come out at 2am and at normal times too (Jake, Craig, Tyler, and a few others). Estimates are up front and I highly recommend joining the no drip club where you save a percentage off future work. They also partner with a company if you need financing and that was a huge help. Oh and the dog in my profile picture has never growled at any of them!

In the last year Kuhn Plumbing has done a number of projects for us. These include installing a basement sink and setting up attachments for a washer, repairing a pipe under the kitchen sink, and improved the flow of our shower head. Each time they completed a quality job on schedule. Plus we had a number of plumbers look at our shower head problem, but only Tom was able to dramatically improve the flow.

Joe was very attentive to our needs and thoroughly explained how to maintain our new hot water heater. He also went the extra mile by cleaning up the space of installation and fixing our kitchen faucet nozzle! Amazing encounter! Very impressed with his service!

Had a serious sewer issue last week . John came over very quickly. He assessed the issue and started work the next day. It was a multi day job and his team worked as fast and efficiently as possible to get the job done right. He also helped me navigate with the insurance company to get a quick reimbursement.

The pilot light on my water heater went out and when trying to relight it, it would not stay lit. The technician was friendly and arrived about an hour after I called. He took a quick look at my water heater and said that the issue was with the gas line for the unit and that the whole unit would need to be replaced. He said that they don't do repairs just unit replacement. That really confused me as, according to their website:

We Provide the Following Water Heater Repairs: Thermocouple, Gas controls, Relights, Relief valves, Pilot assemblies, We Do It All!

The unit was 9 years old so it was hitting the replacement time anyways. We also discussed the federal efficiency requirements changes for 2015 and how the newer units are considerably larger. This would have presented a problem for my condo's small utility closet, but thankfully I would be able to still get a new unit manufactured before the new efficiency laws.

The quote for the replacement was $1350. Later in the day I got a second quote from Chicago Heating Repair that came in $400 cheaper at $950. Moral of the story: always get at least two quotes.

My sinks stopped draining and I assumed It was a main line issue. When he arrived he took time to run the water and find out the issue, which really was not the main line. All the plumbing is original to the house and I did not have a proper clean out so he added one after clearing the clog. I really appreciate the recommendation so I am prepared for the future. All was done for a very fair price and as scheduled! I Highly recommend this business for your plumbing needs.

We used CJ Plumbing for some kitchen work. They came out the same day I called to check out what needed to be done, set up a time, and give a quote. Our countertops were delayed which then delayed the plumbing work on the stove and sink. They were still able to come back within 24 hours to do the work. Our stove had no gas shut off so they installed a shut off and connected the cooktop. The plumbing under the sink was all messed up, not up to code, and they did a phenomenal job correcting all the plumbing there as well. Not only efficient, but done very well. Will definitely have them come back for future plumbing work we need done.

This company has been taking care of my sewer needs for more than 5 years. They first came out to replace the sewer pipe from the house to the main sewer because it had gotten full of tree roots so bad that it cracked and was broken. After that they have been coming out every few years to camera it to make sure the roots have not grown back always bringing a rodder with in case it is needed. They are professional, caring, competent, and I trust them. There are not too many companies that you can say that about today...

Would highly recommend this company. They are very professional, clean, respectful, and reasonably priced. They arrive on time, I mentioned I had pets and they were mindful to keep doors closed when coming in and out. They are also great with dealing with older homes and older equipment. I've used them many times and would recommend them.
