Woke up to a wet garage floor and water heater was leaking. Called South End Plumbing and by the end of the day I had my tank water heater removed and a tankless water heater installed. I was going out of town the next day and they saved me of worries and coming home to a mess. They are great and will definitely give them all my plumbing business from now on!

Our water heater broke in March of 2020. John Gallagher convinced us to spend almost $7,000 to replace that electric one with a state of the art gas heater. He was honest about the pro's and cons and I made an educated decision after discussing with him as well as consulting with several friends. By buying the heater, we removed the ugly heater from our laundry room, giving us more space there. John did the installation that same day and we were pleased with the results.

It did reduce our electric costs but increased our gas costs, and we use a little less water than before because we paid extra for one bathroom to heat up the water within 10 seconds (instead of about 60 seconds). Overall, I'm not sure we saved any money, though.

However, I started smell gas after a while. The gas company always warns you to take this very seriously b/c it could indicate a dangerous leak. (A couple here in Charlotte died a few years ago when they had a gas leak that destroyed their house.). I called John and he returned my call a couple of days later. That was disappointing. He said he didn't know anything about it and that I should call the manufacturer's local rep. Disappointing again. When I did call, the rep said that John should be handling that for me, so I called John back. He said he did some research and found that smelling gas is a known problem with this equipment, but that's it's normal and I shouldn't worry about it. So I called the gas company (which I should have done in the first place). They came within 2 hours and said there was no leak. I think John should have been aware of this issue and should explain it to potential customers. Smelling gas is supposed to be a warning of a dangerous problem, but now I smell it all the time and don't have any sort of warning that there might be a leak.

You can change the temperature and set the times for the quick-heating through the internet, which is really cool. A couple of months ago, Renai, the manufacturer, sent us an email that we needed to update our module, but we couldn't find the controls as described in the email. So we called John and left a message. We waited two days and left another message and he didn't respond again. He still hasn't responded.

I had a leak under my sink and water was everywhere, I called and spoke to Jackie explained my situation and she was a
Miracle worker!! She sent Chris out and he was so nice and fixed everything and I was good to go back to work!! I also worked with Keith and Cole on the first water issue and they were also wonderful!! I am so pleased with them from my first call till they left my house! Any further plumbing issues I have, they will be my only call!!

They came within 2 hrs for emergency drain cleaning . Quickly isolated the issue and repaired very promptly. Absolutely stellar performance!!! Very personable worker. Highly recommend.!

We had a leak in our irrigation system--water was pouring out of valve in our front yard. To make things worse, we could not get our water turned off, and our yard and neighbor's driveway were quickly being flooded. I called around to several emergency plumbing services, but nobody could come out for several hours. Finally, I found Payless Plumber. They had a technician at our house in a matter of minutes. He not only turned the water off but also fixed the problem with our irrigation system, which other plumbers we talked with had not been able to do. And all for a very reasonable price. We will absolutely use Payless Plumbers for any future issues and plan to recommend them highly to our friends.

Might not be the cheapest, but they saved me money because other companies were unable to diagnose the problem and had recommended far more extensive repairs. All employees were extremely professional and polite. Will use 10 times out of 10.

They came out on a home warranty call for our clogged kitchen drain. We had people out before that took about 5 minutes and said problem solved and it wasn't. Joe took his time and did a great job. He was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend.
