I called Rich Matthews at the beginning of December to talk about replacing my ancient (1982) furnace and a water heater that was starting to hurt. Add in that I was trying to do it through Mass Save with a heat loan. Rich came out to my house on a Saturday to look at the job and give us the quote we would need to get the heat loan. He had the quote to me that same day via email and he dropped off a paper copy the next business day. He's forthright and honest and he started teeing up the special pieces we would need while we were waiting for the bank to approve the loan. He was very responsive the whole time and was good about giving me a call for updates.

Because of the jury-rigged nature of the old furnace, he told us it would take two days, possibly three, to get the old one out and the new furnace and water heater in. He replaced the water heater on day one so we wouldn't be without. Then he worked late on a Friday to get everything done right before the temperatures dropped down below 20. The new ductwork, venting, and drain for the condensate are all really well done. You can see the quality of his work. It is well below freezing outside, and this is the warmest my house has been since I bought it. He even came back after the install was complete to change an exterior fitting for the air intake because he wasn't happy with the part he had on hand when he did the job originally.

10/10 I would go back to Rich for any work I needed done.

Ryan was great. He was very professional & knowledgeable. We just moved into our new condo & has no idea how to even turn on our old gas fireplace. He figured it out for us, cleaned it, showed us how to use it, was extremely neat & very pleasant. I was extremely impressed. I would highly recommend them & would use them again in a minute.

Prompt, transparent, and reasonably priced! I have used other plumbing and heating businesses in the area but Narrow Way is the best when it comes to reasonable pricing and good craftsmanship! I had an issue with a newly delivered dryer and needed the vent to be reconfigured in a tight closet space. They were upfront on how they would charge when I called and showed up in the time window. Highly recommend!

We were not getting heat in a back bedroom. Tom came out and found out the previous folks must have had kid(s) who threw down all sorts of stuff down the ductwork. He cleaned our furnace and fixed our problem with a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

After providing good reviews for Ernie, I am now back here since my experience did change.

Ernie installed all the plumbing in my property, including a brand new Navien boiler. His job took 6 months to complete and by then, it was already summer so the new tenants did not need to use the heater.

Fast forward to October/November when the winter started, the brand new boiler started to shut down daily. I immediately reached out to him to fix the issue and like other reviews stated, it was everyone’s fault but his. It took him 7 months to fix the issue ( now again summer time). I still don’t know if it is fixed as the heat does not need to be on.

I spent well over 50-60k on plumbing work on him, and in the end, I looked at the numbers for my last invoice which I paid without reading( my fault) and discovered that I had overpaid him 1650 extra.

After trying to resolve this issue with him, and after I pointed out to him they the items on that invoice were already paid for, he then came up with an excuse as to why he charged this amount, according to him he spent 6 hours at 250 per hour to install a small baseboard on a tiny bathroom that was already installed by another plumber, it literally just needed to be connected, and did not take 6 hours, he definitely inflated the hours he worked on but instead of him being honest and refund the overpayment, he made up 6 hours of work that he never quoted for just to justify not refunding the overpayment.

In summary, Ernie acts and wants to charge like a pro, but his work, lack of knowledge and his sneaky ways of invoicing his customers determined the fraud he really is. If you are thinking about using him just be aware. Slow work, too many excuses and incompetent.

He did a very good job Michel is very honest and his prices are fair I will definitely recommend this company to my family and friends he is very hard working if can give him 7 stars I would and I am very satisfied with his work and he is very fast.

I had a new heat and hot water unit installed in my house recently. The owner of this company is the most professional plumber I have encountered. Nice new truck, clean clothes, all brand new tools and fittings laid out in organized boxes. He was on time and finished the job ahead of schedule. This is not a fly by night operation. Wayne helped me save time and money by allowing me to send him pictures of the water main piping a home inspector said needed to be looked at. He was very quick to call me back and to tell me exactly what was worth fixing vs leaving as is. I appreciate Wayne's honesty and will definitely call him back if I ever have other plumbing issues.
