I called South End Plumbing to see if they could replace two water heaters in a 3-family building as soon as possible. I spoke to Patrick on the phone. I described the features that were important to me and he suggested one that I thought was great, exactly what I was looking for. They said they would be here by 6pm with two water heaters to install. They called at 5:50pm to say they were running late and would be there in an hour. They arrived at 7:30. Patrick was angry and said he should have charged me more. I showed him where the water heaters would go and he said he would do it, and it would be about three hours. The brand name on the water heater they brought in was not the brand name we had talked about on the phone. When we asked about that, they said they were honest plumbers and would not stand by and be called cheats, and they put the water heater back on the hand truck and started wheeling it away. I said tell me about this water heater -- maybe it has the features we discussed -- and I went to look at it but one of them stood between me and the water heater and said you're not going to see any of the numbers on this thing and they wheeled it out. On the way out they were rude to a neighbor who was just trying to get up the steps to his home. They both seemed very angry at me because they were here late in the evening, even though I only agreed to all the times they suggested. And nobody accused them of being cheats -- maybe the model they brought met all the requirements we discussed -- though I'd say it's kind of suspicious that they wouldn't even let me look at it after they had brought it into my basement.

Wonderful plumber. Very knowledgable. Good work. Came within the hour on a Sunday. Would call him anytime.

I’m never calling this guy again. Rude, condescending and unhelpful. Joke is on him. We manage, rent and sell hundred of apartments and condos in the south end. He won’t get any of our business. None. Tip for local businesses: treat and talk to everybody with respect. You never know who the person on the other line is.

South End Plumbing, more specifically owner Wayne was breath of fresh air when we questioned another companies largely plumbing repair bill, that we received for an exorbitant cost. He was able to quickly jump in to give us an honest assessment of our situation and properly advise us of what our options and nexts steps should be. Our previous company simply had suggested repairs for our issue which ultimately weren't needed for that issue. it's nice to realize that there are still business owners out there in this field, who truly care about their reputation and keeping customers. Who take pride in their craft and doing a good job, its not only about how much $$ they can milk out of unsuspecting customers.As many have written here-we found Wayne to be extremely informative, educational and most of all an HONEST straight shooter. Exactly what you need when dealing with plumbing & heating issues in the middle of a New England Winter! I would easily recommend using South End Plumbing.

Water pressure in our shower was extremely low - found South End Plumbing through Google search and called Wayne. He asked me to send him a picture of the problem. Called me back, knew exactly what the issue was and was at my home within 2 hours (in the time frame he gave me). He was able to fix the problem quickly and get everything working again. Terrific experience, quality work, would definitely use again.

Wayne was great. He was punctual, communicated well and tried to help us over the phone beforehand to save us some money. Despite having to still come out, he waived $50 off the bill because he was able to fix it quickly.

I've used south end plumbing twice and both times Wayne has been incredibly timely, respectful, and helpful. Strongly recommend.

I spoke to Wayne about a non - functioning gas oven. He asked how long my tub drain had been slow.

I again explained the problem with the oven. He asked how many units were in the building and where the water shut off switch was located.

This went on for several minutes, interrupted only by his long - winded explanation of the changing design of gas stoves over the past 30 years.

Wayne was very, very confused. I will look elsewhere.

Wayne is GREAT! I called for a garbage disposal repair and he came over within a couple hours and fixed the issue within minutes! He is friendly, professional and made me laugh! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Wayne was fantastic. My in sink erator was broken (or so I thought). Glass had accidentally gone down and gotten stuck. I called South End Plumbing to schedule someone to come. I got an answering machine and left a message. Wayne called back a few hours later and said he could try to help me over the phone for free! So he talked me through it (ended up buying an allen wrench from Homed Depot) and followed his advice. He even offered to come later in the evening if it didn't work. Wonderful and friendly service at no cost!

I had work in an old building in the back bay done and Wayne took care of them in a jiffy, despite the old pipes and tight quarters. (Shower valve, toilet valve and flapper, sink shutoff conection and drain. )He was very honest and upfront from the initial phone call, until the delivery of the invoice. Wayne was very responsive and accommodating to my schedule. I had used him a handful of times before and he always is professional, prompt and honest. We had an old garbage disposal to replace (maybe 10 years old). Wayne was in and out within an hour, even while having to adjust the ground wire that was too short (previous installer). Thank you again Wayne. Always a pleasure.

I called Wayne on a Sunday regarding a leaking kitchen sink faucet that was in need of replacing. We exchanged photos of the problem via text messages and agreed on an approach to solve the problem. We set a time for the next day and he arrived early, was quick, efficient, clean, and helpful. I would highly recommend using his services again for anyone in need of a honest friendly plumber.

Our water heater went just a week ago (last week of February, when it was super cold!), and it left our basement inundated! I called Wayne to see if he could replace our hot water heater that day. Thankfully, he said he could be there by 12pm, and he also offered the service of pumping the water out (for an additional fee). This was really helpful because another company told me they would not put in the water heater until I called yet another company to pump out the water from the basement. That would have left us without a water heater for 24+ hours! Wayne worked hard and got the job done by about 5pm. It was great to have hot water the same day. Extra props that he did all this on such a bitterly cold day!

Wayne is incredibly helpful. He diagnosed the the problem quickly and solved it equally as fast. It was clear to me that Wayne takes pride in his work and pays attention to the fine details to make sure everything is done just right. As an example, when setting valves for water flow, Wayne explained to me when it is important to make sure the valve is not completely locked. He explained that this can lead to the valve becoming stuck, which can lead to damage in the future. Wayne also offered to show me what he was doing and explain why so that I have the tools to troubleshoot in the future if I need to. He also provided other tips with regard to plumbing that seem generally helpful to know (and I was unaware of) to avoid small things that can lead to costly problems.

Overall, I highly recommend Wayne. I will be using him for all future plumbing needs.

Called on Tuesday, problem solved on Wednesday. Had a toilet slowly seeping from below. Plumber arrived early after alerting me by phone (!). Discovered a broken cast iron flange that had been seeping for years (wet floor board edges) . What looked at first like an insurmountable and costly expense (time and money), plumber fixed with modern parts in a few hours. So relieved (as will be my downstairs neighbor!) Explained problems and process for me all the way through. 2nd time I've used them.

He was kind and patient is understanding our issue with our laundry room and was able to fix our pipes in no time! I found South End Plumbing on Yelp and called because my garbage disposal had stopped working and my sink was getting backed up. Wayne answered my call at 6:30p and by 7:00p my disposal was working again...and the best part...it cost $0!!!! Wayne walked me patiently through every step of how to diagnose the problem and fix the disposal on my own all over the phone.

Cue the scene, my garbage disposal is broken and keeping the dishes area clean is starting to become a nightmare. I didn't know what to do and, like all of you, looked up some good reviews to find the right person for the job. I'm pleased to say that Wayne was on time, highly professional, and an all-around great guy. I know who I'm calling for my next plumbing issue :D

Called Wayne and his team this morning for an issue with my disposal. Team was super quick and helpful getting the issue fixed.

Great service! Talked to me on the phone for over an hour helping me decide whether a plumber or a washing machine tech were needed. Other plumbers would have just come and charged me but he was a stand-up guys and took the time to be kind. Could not recommend enough.

Wayne made it easy to schedule, even though it was the holidays. Came right when he said he would. Had everything in his truck he needed to finish repairs. Very thorough, knowledgeable and worked quickly. Great troubleshooter and plumber!
