We have used Mr. Dodd for over 30 years because we can always rely on excellent service. He has completed several HVAC jobs for us during that time. When you call James Dodd Heating Cooling and Plumbing, the phone is answered by his wife Carolyn. With her pleasant manner, she does a thorough job getting detailed information about the HVAC problem. When Mr. Dodd arrives, he has a base of information to assess the problem. He then prepares a detailed work order including the material needed to complete the job, the amount of time to complete the job, and the cost.

Over the years, Mr. Dodd has replaced an entire HVAC system in an older house we owned, completed a tune-up on an existing system (several times), replaced just a part of an HVAC system rather than the whole system, and this week, replaced a gas hot water heater for our home.

Several years ago, Mr. Dodd hired his grandson as an assistant. The two work as a great team. So, when you call Dodd Heating Cooling and Plumbing, the same team arrives to do the job every time.

Our latest plumbing problem had the team arrive, check the type of water heater needed, and locate where the water heater was in the house. The Dodd team was back in a short period of time. They removed the old water heater, installed the new water heater, and hauled the old water heater away. From start to finish, the job was completed in a timely fashion.

When Mr. Dodd left to purchase a new water heater, he could have easily stopped at a nearby Big Box store. Instead, he went to a wholesaler and purchased a higher quality water heater at a much lower price.

Austin Byers was fantastic. This is our second encounter with him and he is prepared to tackle any problem and ensures the homeowner is aware of each step. Austin found himself on the heels of our experiencing horrendous contract work on our deck, so we were extremely suspicious and questioned every step Austin took to resolve our AC not cooling our home. He at all times was very professional and answered our questions to satisfaction. Austin was sympathetic toward our anxiety and at no time reacted defensively towards our questioning each finding and/or testing required to troubleshoot our problem. He recorded on video his findings which validated what was required to fix the problem. We appreciated upon reflection his genuine efforts to identify our problem and sought as much detail from us that may had shed some light on the sudden failure of our AC unit. His professionalism and understanding and not reacting to our suspicions and constant questions had a calming effect that we much needed in light of the contractor nightmare we were facing daily. Austin not only identified the problem but patiently advised us about the part needed was a special order item and it would take a few days and that someone with AM would follow up with a phone call to reschedule a technician's visit to get our AC up and running. Amazingly, Austin actually said we could request he return and complete the service call! Kudos to Austin with much thanks and appreciation for understanding our suspicions were not directed towards him but were a matter of emotional distress caused by another person(s). Austin maintained complete composure at all times, smiled, and listened and asked pertinent questions that assisted him in diagnosing the problem. In spite of it being late on a Friday afternoon, he completed the service call with an attitude that he would not abandon the project until he had satisfactorily identified the problem/resolution. Austin, thank your kindness and hope to see you again. We highly recommend AM but more so Austin Byers for HVAC services and emergency call services.

I want to highly recommend this company. They are the most professional plumbers we have ever encountered. Rob, Tony and Brian replaced the Quest piping in our house that had given us issues for years. They were knowledgeable, extremely pleasant, and hard-working. They went above and beyond to make sure all of our plumbing issues were met. I can't say enough good things about these guys! If you need plumbing services, call them first. You will not be disappointed! So glad we found this business. We will continue to use their services.

The technician that arrived at my location had an apprentice in tow. The tech seemed very confident he could do the job....very cocky. He then criticized the manufacturer of the item he was there to repair and indicated Why did I buy this cheap item? It is a lowes/home depot item. And He wasn't surprised it broke. Then he proceeded to quote me a price of close to 200.00 for the repair. When I said no thank you I will wait he said What did I think the price was going to be? I have him a price of what I thought was fair and he accepted that price without hesitation. I indicated why did he price it so high before and he said Do you want the discount or not? I took it and he put my part in. He was done in under 10 minutes. I can't say that I am thrilled about the experience...what I can tell you is chew them down on price because he didn't appear to want to leave when I said no thank you and the price became more reasonable after that.
