I had a plumbing leak, called, and was given an appointment early the next morning. They arrived on time, were friendly, and informative. I asked if I could schedule maintenance on my HVAC and they were able to service it the same day. All around great customer service experience from scheduling to execution. The service is great. The people are are too. Scheduling is great also. But it’s gonna hit you in the pockets a little bit. But you get what you pay for.

This was not an easy fix recessing a natural gas line into the wall for a new gas stove. The guys both were professional and timely the only issue was lack of the proper box that like everything was out of stock so had to be ordered to finish this job on Monday. I will be using them for my next project replacing a toilet that I discovered is leaking. Thank You!

Reviewing again because this seems to be the only way I can get in touch with the owner.To follow up on my original review, we were never contacted before the holiday weekend. As we're the consumers PLEADING to have a conversation about an $1,800 dispute, we were each waiting by our phones last week.The owner's promise on their website reads: My employees and I know how to get the job done, and done right (the first time). Because we charge by the task and not the hour, our customers always know they’re getting an honest price and a great value. --- This couldn't be more inaccurate.We finally got in touch with the Service Manager 7/6 after we threatened legal action, and we had about three conversations with him throughout the course of the day. Not once did they apologize for our experience or their mistakes.Most importantly, we still had our original thermostat in the home; in order to double check their work, we replaced THEIR thermostat with our original thermostat. Turns out, our original thermostat works fine and AC has been cranking ever since, indicating they replaced a part that was never malfunctioning and charged us (we're estimating) about $500-700. They offered to refund us about $800 of the $1,800 we've paid - once we return the thermostat and to account for warranty pricing on the Board (which they never initially honored). We don't find this solution acceptable or fair. And would be naive not to question the other charges, since they replaced a perfectly working thermostat - less than 3 years old. As of 7/7, we have countered and asked for reimbursement on the ACF Board they claimed to be malfunctioning, and are willing to pay for the original diagnostic fee + clearing of the lines. We've even offered to remove any negative reviews if reimbursed for what we believe is fair.We have repeatedly asked for a breakdown of parts versus labor in writing and they refuse to provide.We have yet to receive closure,. I am not in the business to destroy other companies' reputations, but simply informing others to be vigilant of this type of service. We have given American Mechanical countless opportunities to make this right and we're very frustrated at this point.

We have used Blessings Plumbing in Virginia Beach several times in the past 5 years or so.
First time was a foundation shift under our home resulted in broken / bent sewer lines needing to be repositioned and strengthened. Also had to rebuild the adjacent toilet flange arrangement, due to that foundation shift. It has worked perfectly since then.
Then, we moved our (tank) water heater from the kitchen to a tankless water heater in the attic. HVAC guys had run too light of a gas line when they moved the furnace to the attic. The Blessings plumber immediately recognized that problem and corrected the line to the proper diameter to allow for the greater flow need for both those appliances in the attic. Their installation was very neat and clean. I love having an endless hot water shower!
Most recently, my parent's condo had a toilet backup multiple times over the course of a few months. Each time I called them, they were there as quickly as needed. Even on a FRIDAY NIGHT! My father is in in-home hospice right now, and having his toilet functional is critical to him being able to stay out of hospitals or nursing homes. It was unusual for a toilet to clog these few times in such a short period. The first time, I was able to clear it myself. The next two time required their professional touch. Each time they had to remove the toilet from the floor to snake the drain, they reinstalled and cleaned up after the work completed; it looked as if they hadn't even been there. The problem was eventually traced to the sewer line beyond their building, with at least 3 separate breaks / shifts in that line, which was catching the stuff being flushed and causing a back up. They had the right equipment. A 100 foot plus drain snake, and a 100 foot plus camera to find and mark the trouble spots on the surface. When the utilities were dug up, their marks on the surface were directly over the sewer line faults, that were at least 4 FEET BELOW the ground!
Could you find a plumber for a cheaper price? Yes. Would you have the confidence in knowing it is fixed correctly? Probably not. Each service call with Blessings Plumbing has absolutely been worth the price. They are professional. They know what they are doing. AND, they do it right.
I am impressed with Craig Blessing and all his crews that have taken care of me and my family over the years. (They are who I call to take care of my own parents.) I recommend them every time one of my friends ask about plumbers.
I WILL use them for my future plumbing needs.

I called Rob to come out in the Winter of 2011 to convert some old washer/drier connections to the new standard. He told me the job would only take a few hours and it'd be done. Three hours later he was finished without ever having to go under the house. He hands me the bill and it's a whopping $2000. I was taken aback by how he figured he could charge this much. This was partly my fault for not receiving a quote beforehand but his predatory billing scheme is a sign of the kind of business he runs. I kept the refrigerator magnet he gave so that I could recommend my friends and family not use him.

John Newman and his crew came out on a short notice and solve my problem and no time they did an excellent job very clean courteous and polite. I will recommend them to anyone and we use them again. They Rock prices were really reasonable considering I had another plumber come out and quote me about $800 more and told me it was going to take two or three days to do the job when his guys took care of it in about a half a day. I am quite upset because Betty's name is still being used and they do not honor work that had already begun in North Carolina saying they have been taken over by Atlantic and Atlantic doesn't have a NC license. This unit cost $5.300.00 and we can't get a company in NC that will take over Betty's contract. We even paid for labor & parts to be good until 2021. We trusted Betty's and want to know why they can't acquire a NC license to honor their contracts if they are going to continue advertising. Where does that leave all the rest of the people that trusted them in N.C. I lived in Newport News all my life and referred Betty's to everyone I know. I can't even get Betty's Supervisor or owner to call back to talk to them. Help somebody!
We have been dealing with this over three weeks. The water of condensation falls straight through to the duck work and pulled it down. My husband is in his 80's and crawled under the house and saw what has happened. The drain is not clogged. The water just goes straight through. We shut off the unit so no more damage can be done. We don't want to mess up our warranty knowing this. Here is a warning to all residents in N.C.

I just wanted to leave a quick note and say how awesome Ray was. I needed some maintenance done on a natural gas hot water boiler and to my surprise Ray showed up within two hours of me making the phone call. He quickly diagnose the issue, ran to get the part, and had it installed perfectly and under two hours. I certainly was not expecting that level of service and I will definitely use A-1 as my go forward. Everyone was incredibly easy to work with.
