Matt Barton was a courteous, professional, extremely knowledgeable plumber.As a retired teacher, who still enjoys learning, Matt taught me everything about the diverter in my bath/shower to tankless water heaters. I would call him an amazing teacher!!!I will ONLY use A 1 for my plumbing needs! Before arriving a text was sent with Matt’s picture. He and his helper wore masks. I called Rob to come out in the Winter of 2011 to convert some old washer/drier connections to the new standard. He told me the job would only take a few hours and it'd be done. Three hours later he was finished without ever having to go under the house. He hands me the bill and it's a whopping $2000. I was taken aback by how he figured he could charge this much. This was partly my fault for not receiving a quote beforehand but his predatory billing scheme is a sign of the kind of business he runs. I kept the refrigerator magnet he gave so that I could recommend my friends and family not use him.

Superb service from a very friendly technician. After buying a washing machine, I found that the drain pipe overflowed when the washer tried to drain. The technician, Shawn Prunty, told me it was because my house has porous old cast iron pipes that can clog over time. He snaked the pipe, but when it still wouldn't drain, he snaked it again and sent a camera up the pipe to make sure it was clear for no extra charge. Before he left, he told me how to prevent future clogs, and even advised me on what toilet paper to use 😂 He was a genuine guy who provided genuine service. I can't ask for more than that. Very pleased!

When I called him for about 3 of my plumbing jobs, he was always early, walk me through from start to finish. He was very reasonable on his prices and he is my go to plumber. This is the man to take care of all plumbing and gas issues and projects.

He went above and beyond with consideration, like fixing the kids’ bathroom first in case they needed to use it while he fixed the larger problem. This company did not perform as expected, it failed to do the job(s).

My elderly parents, 85yo and 90yo with health issues, required plumbing repair at their home. 1. The bathroom toilet cast iron flange needed to be cut off and replaced because the subfloor had been replaced. 2. The bathtub required clearing the drain and 3. a new sink faucet installed. I called Newman’s because they had positive customer reviews for their professionalism and high rating. Initially they promised to be at the house the next day, I called late the following day to see why the plumber hadn’t arrived.... subsequently someone was dispatched late to my parents home. I conferred by phone with the plumber regarding the work effort and cost prior to starting the job. They estimated the drain and faucet would be $150.00, and the flange replacement as unknown until the number of hours were calculated in. Since I was out of town we agreed to transact payment by credit card phone. Later, after the plumber had completed some work he presented my mother with a $XXX bill which she paid. Why didn’t contact me as instructed IDK! I called the next day to inquire and didn’t reach anyone. I called the following Saturday and talked with the owner that was aware of issues the tech experienced, but didn’t have much information regarding what was performed. I indicated the tech had arrived late work on the following day worked on the toilet drainage pressure, didn’t resolve it, and presented another $XXX bill of a similar amount. The owner couldn’t contact the tech for more details and indicated he would call Monday or the tech would call back to discuss the issue and cost.... it’s been four days and I haven’t received any explanation from anyone!!!
The flange repair was completed. The bathtub drain was augured and not cleared; left in a messy state with black debris. The toilet drain was augured to improve drainage pressure and clear any obstruction—not fixed. The sink faucet replacement was never performed.

Bottom line— they presented 2 separate invoices for essentially the same work effort, one each day and would have billed a third time if allowed to return. They took advantage of the elderly—- unscrupulous and unprofessional!!
None of this testimonial can be rebutted by the owner because it’s true.
