The Bob Oates guy spent a half hour checking out the problem and concluded it needed a $2K+ replacement. That's a lot so I got a second opinion. In less than two minutes, the other guy proved that diagnoses wrong...over the phone. 45 minutes of work and a cheap part later and it was fixed for $200ish. I don't know if Bob Oates was intentionally dishonest or just incompetent but consider getting a second opinion yourself.

Update: I received a follow up call after a couple of weeks and they were very apologetic. It seems that the technician may have been newer to the company and should have given additional options in the estimate (which they admitted was high) and should have performed the simple test up front (which they obviously did not). They offered to put a credit on my account which I appreciate. So my experience may not be indicative of the company as a whole.

We had our oven range hood and an outdoor light installed by 2 fixers. (Jacob and Torch) They were so kind and helpful. We will absolutely be using Fixer again. It's just amazing that they are true handypeople and can help with so many projects around the house.

My sewer line main drain clogged on a Friday afternoon. They dug it up and they fixed it on a Friday night. They do good work but they're very expensive they charge extra for everything that they do. They had me at a weak moment in retrospect I would have went to a hotel and and bit it out and got a better price.

I've used Greenhouse Plumbing twice. 1st time was about 3 years ago when one of the water pipes in front of the house was eroded by the tree roots & they assisted in establishing a new water line via pipe lining (a no dig & less costly solution to replacing broken water pipe). Second time was last week when one of my water pipes in the crawl space started leaking. The service was quick & efficient & the technician was able to reschedule to an earlier time since it was an emergency. The company called & made sure I was satisfied with my service a week later. I trust Greenhouse Plumbing to handle all my plumbing needs.
