I never leave reviews, but James & James Plumbing are great and professional! They arrived on time with all the necessary tools to install our water heater and quickly got the job done. I had an indoor drain pipe dilemma that needed remediation. They responded quickly to my request for service and provided a scheduled time for their technician to arrive. Josiah did a great job from start to finish; he explained what was needed, how long it would take, and provided tips to ensure the problem wouldn't reoccur. $325 to replace a max $20 fill valve on a toilet that took one hour of work is just crazy. Full Stop.
Why didn't I push back on the invoice at the moment I was asked to give my credit card you ask? I didn't want to make a scene in front of my invalid mother and her caretaker. To the latter, $325 would be 16 HOURS+ of my caregiver's wages if she needed to address the same issue. No wonder folks are fleeing SF to more affordable places.

Twenty year old kitchen faucet leaking, wasting water. Called George Salet. Got same day appt. Mike arrived wearing mask and donned foot coverings. Very professional, explained the problem clearly. Provided options the company could offer. Had to drive back to shop to get an adapter when our old infrastructure did not fit new hardware. Mike ended up staying until 6:30pm and left us with newly installed faucet and clean sink and work area around it. It had to be a bit frustrating for him but he remained professional. We are very thankful to have gotten such good same day service in the midst of a pandemic!

I've had 3 different emergencies, clog, another clog, and a leaking compression valve, Ace Plumbing has sent 3 solid guys out to do clean out and fix my old valve, would definitely use again. They are on-call on the weekend, I was happy to get a quick response on a Sunday!! Thanks Bobby!

Daniel showed up on time 9 a.m. Thursday, cleared out the tree roots that seem to be the cause of the clogged garage to street drain, and tested it afterward. The entire job was done in under an hour. Very professional. The job was done with 60 day service warranty (one service recall). My wife was very happy with the job performance.
The cost is high in my opinion at $365/hour. Daniel did tell my wife about the cost/hour upfront and the wife did agree to it. I am open to any correction on my perception on cost since I do not know current typical average rate. My prior data points were that these kind of jobs should be in the $100-150 range, and I am willing to pay up to $200.

I initially called to have one of their plumbers come by for a free quote, and the work turned out to be even less than I expected. Carl had all of the materials in his truck and had the water shut off, the pipe fixed, and the water back on in less than 30 minutes. I'm seriously blown away by how easy and affordable these guys are. Will definitely be calling them again in the future.

The technicians did a awesome job! They were thorough and informative while working and got a completely blocked line flowing better than it has the entire 6 years we have lived here. They got the work done and charged less than a third of what another company quoted us for a base price. Would use this company again.
