Best Water Service Repair/replacement in Saint Louis MO

Brett called me within ten seconds of me submitting my Angie's List request for HVAC replacement contractors, no joke. He arrived on time to our scheduled meeting the next morning and did an incredibly thorough job reviewing my complicated and whacky zoned heating/cooling setup, teaching me and answering questions along the way. He provided tons of information - I could immediately tell he wasn't just a sales guy but had tons of experience actually doing the work in the field - he saw little things I had never noticed and offered reasonable solutions without any pressure whatsoever. In fact, he advised really practical advice that I'm certain saved me time and money.

I ended up deciding to repair my broken AC unit in the short term, using Dunn's repair guy, with which Brett had shared his notes from our meeting to get him prepared in advance for the issues I was facing and to be sure we addressed all the little things he saw when he was here.

Brett called to follow up with me after my tech repair appointment to ask how it went and to see where I stood with repair vs. replace. I decided to repair in the short-term while I wait for quotes to come in to see what it would cost to replace. When I am ready to replace, whether it's soon or down the road, I would not hesitate for one second to consider Dunn. After this experience, I feel like I'd get great service, thorough analysis of my system, the right hardware proposed for the house and zoned heating/cooling setup that I have, and a fair price.

I can't say enough great things about Steve from Anytime Plumbing. I called him because my water heater Literally exploded. He called me right back and said he would be there first thing next morning and he was. GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT personally, knowledgeable about all plumbing and he did an excellent job of replacing and updating my water heater along with a new regulator at a very reasonable price. Didn't show up, then lied about knocking on the door and no one answered. We're outside working on the lawn so I'm pretty sure we would have seen him walk up and knock on the door. Plus cameras are around the house 360. Don't ever do business with these trifling people...

I purchased a very expensive boiler (20k) last winter for them for our radiator heat.  They came to try to fix the old unit and said that our only option was a new one.  After some debate, we moved forward.  The installation itself was OK.  They left the basement door open for most of the time, and I had to ask them several times to close it because we were freezing.  I tried to ask them how it was going while they installed it, and they would barely respond.  Given the cost, I don't think this was unreasonable.  After the install, it stopped working completely after about 7 days.  I was pretty upset. They sent out a technician off hours who had no idea how to fix it. It turns out that the reason it stopped working was because the exhaust valve was installed incorrectly.  Apparently, it wasn't windy the day of the install, but there was more wind later on, so it needed to be installed differently.  Yikes. It works well now in terms of heating up the home.  I will say that the cost savings from this unit were not at all what they told us. The salesman made all sorts of claims about all the money we would save to run the unit.  All of that wasn't true.  It is cheaper to run our forced air units (although the radiator heat is much better; it heats evenly, there is no dust blowing around, etc.). We do love the radiator heat, but it isn't cheaper.  Maybe it is cheaper than a 50-year-old boiler, but he knew that wasn't our situation.  We weren't using the radiator heat at that time, which is why they were there in the first place.  All of this was really disappointing, but today, after switching back from Hoffman, I had someone out for a separate issue, and he was asking me about the unit.  Apparently, we could have gotten a similar unit and used it for our hot water as well.  He said it would have been another ~$1,000 (compared to getting a new $3000 water heater).  I remember the salesperson mentioning that as an option very briefly, and I expressed some interest.  I don't really know what happened in that particular part of the discussion after that, but at the very least I didn't understand the options, because it appears like it would have been a no-brainer based on what I am hearing today.  I have no idea what to believe on this particular issue, but it just added to my overall disappointment about the experience, which is why I am writing this review.

I would have liked to post a review on a water heater install by them but after three calls to them - and none returned - I could never get them to send somebody over to take a look at my job. This despite the fact that I'm about three minutes away from their office.
