It's almost like a bait and switch, they come in and say we can get this fixed for a start price of $489.00, then $789.00, then $989.00 then $1689.00! After replacing 11inches of galvanized pipe it jumps up like every foot! Plus I showed them the T connection where it was leaking and they proceeded to replace 11 inches of pipe BEFORE the bad T fitting, which now is leaking even WORSE, I asked for an estimate to replace ALL the exposed galvanized pipe, tech said oh I can only quote you replacement in STAGES or SECTIONS! LOL yeah 11 inches at a time for $500.00 a foot! What a RIPOFF!! You'd have to take out a second mortgage on your house to replace old pipes like that! Save yourself ALOT of wasted TIME and MONEY call a professional plumbing company like I ended up doing, HOFFMAN BROTHERS came out and replaced ALL the old pipe in less than 7 hrs and the price was AMAZING!! STAY AWAY FROM MAPLEWOOD PLUMING!!

Great local family-owned company! I needed a wall knocked out to repair a leak from the upstairs bathroom, and they made the repair a lot less painful than I expected knowing a wall and ceiling would be ripped out. Ended up using them again a few weeks later for a new hot water heater.

Service was provided within two days of reaching out for non-emergent water heater installation. I bought the water heater from Lowe’s so only paid labor and permitting, and they had the cheapest rate of companies I looked at. Work was done promptly and efficiently, with no snags related to either the plumbing or the billing.

I purchased a very expensive boiler (20k) last winter for them for our radiator heat.  They came to try to fix the old unit and said that our only option was a new one.  After some debate, we moved forward.  The installation itself was OK.  They left the basement door open for most of the time, and I had to ask them several times to close it because we were freezing.  I tried to ask them how it was going while they installed it, and they would barely respond.  Given the cost, I don't think this was unreasonable.  After the install, it stopped working completely after about 7 days.  I was pretty upset. They sent out a technician off hours who had no idea how to fix it. It turns out that the reason it stopped working was because the exhaust valve was installed incorrectly.  Apparently, it wasn't windy the day of the install, but there was more wind later on, so it needed to be installed differently.  Yikes. It works well now in terms of heating up the home.  I will say that the cost savings from this unit were not at all what they told us. The salesman made all sorts of claims about all the money we would save to run the unit.  All of that wasn't true.  It is cheaper to run our forced air units (although the radiator heat is much better; it heats evenly, there is no dust blowing around, etc.). We do love the radiator heat, but it isn't cheaper.  Maybe it is cheaper than a 50-year-old boiler, but he knew that wasn't our situation.  We weren't using the radiator heat at that time, which is why they were there in the first place.  All of this was really disappointing, but today, after switching back from Hoffman, I had someone out for a separate issue, and he was asking me about the unit.  Apparently, we could have gotten a similar unit and used it for our hot water as well.  He said it would have been another ~$1,000 (compared to getting a new $3000 water heater).  I remember the salesperson mentioning that as an option very briefly, and I expressed some interest.  I don't really know what happened in that particular part of the discussion after that, but at the very least I didn't understand the options, because it appears like it would have been a no-brainer based on what I am hearing today.  I have no idea what to believe on this particular issue, but it just added to my overall disappointment about the experience, which is why I am writing this review.

Not sure how their plumbing skills are since they never showed up. Scheduled an apt. for a tuesday morning, never came. Called them and they acted like I never made an apt. but said he could be there in the afternoon, again no show and no calls. Called them back and they said their busy til thursday... uh what? no thanks
