Not a terrible experience, but won't call again. Had Golden Rule come out a while back to fix a few different issues. Scheduling was fast and easy enough. Guys were friendly. Got the normal warnings to fix some potential items, but were not pushy about any of it. The problems I had with the service were minor, but added up.
Turns out the work was not under warranty due to some specific issues. You probably won't run into the same problem. Then the price was around 30% higher than originally quoted, again due to some trouble that they ran into. Understandable, but of course not great. Work was done outside, but guys didn't wear masks and were spitting off my driveway as I'm right next to them signing my receipts.
So you may or may not be bothered by any of that. For me, there are too many other plumbers around to try Golden Rule again.

Cape Fear (and Kevin Blasingim specifically) saved the day today. We woke up to no AC with the temperature rising pretty quick. On top of that we had on and off thunderstorms all day. Kevin arrived during the time they said, set up a canopy by our AC unit, and diagnosed the problem in no time. He took the time to explain the situation professionally and showed that he knew what he was talking about. He had it fixed and up and running very quickly and we couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s great knowing my kid will be able to sleep comfortably tonight and that we were taken care of. Jason from 3rd Generation Plumbing went above and beyond to install our kitchen sink and faucet after the big name retailer (no names mentioned, rhymes with woes) we paid to install them proceeded to bungle the process for two months. He persisted in following up with said retailer and kept us informed, even while he was on vacation. Then when he was finally cleared to install the sink, he discovered that the DIY countertop tile job by the former homeowners was overextended and required additional work to trim away before the sink would fit. He dealt with this as well despite the extra time and effort involved. Final result looks great and we are very happy with it. Throughout the process Jason was courteous, helpful, and professional. We highly recommend this business and plan to use them again in the future.

I was shopping around for testing a backflow protection valve and this company was reasonably priced. My valve failed and they were very accommodating and willing to work with me to get it remedied. Will always use them for my properties!

Perhaps I'm not a handyman, but I can tell a good job from bad. The story: I bought a toilet tank kit to replace the insides of the tank and I thought it would take me one hour max. Maybe the kit didn't quite fit, or maybe I'm just that bad, but at the end of the ordeal I had leaks from various places, plus, I broke the shut off valve. Spent about 5 hours laying on the wet floor. At this time, around Christmas, it's been hard to find someone to come over, especially at 9 PM. Well, they did and all I can say, it was amazing. Kind of like an emergency surgery (and in fact, I think surgery is a kind of plumbing) - full focus on the job, actually running (not walking) back to the truck for supplies. Give me the scalpel, except give me the wrench, in this case. I am impressed.

My mother-in-law called to have someone come out and look over the plumbing in and around the house for leaks because she received an unusually high water bill of over $50. Typically she pays around $30. The gentleman came out and looked around the bathrooms and kitchen and then, without asking, replaced two floats in two toilets, which were fairly new and not leaking. He charged her $309.

My mother-in-law didn’t think the floats were the issue, but waited for the next water bill to make sure. She soon received the next month’s water bill of $908. Finally, a family member came over and after much looking under the house and anywhere there was a water supply line, they found a faucet in the back yard was on and the attached hose was leaking. They turned it off and the problem was solved. My mother-in-law called the plumbing company and spoke to a young lady and told her how the man replaced two good toilet floats, didn’t look around and how much he charged. The young lady basically said there was nothing she could do.

I called today and spoke to the office manager. I let him know what the service technician did when he came out and he said that if he would have talked to her, he would have come out and looked around. He also said for her to call and talk to him if she had another plumbing need. I told him my mother-in-law was a little gun-shy now of Carolina Plumbing and I didn’t think she would be calling them again.

My main frustration is that the service technician didn’t look around, didn’t ask where any supply lines or outside faucets might be or look under the house at all for water leaks. In my opinion, this isn’t good customer service and borders on taking advantage of someone who doesn’t understand plumbing.

Do not use! I chose John Hutchins’ company because he seemed very knowledgeable and was priced reasonably. The project started off well enough to get the big draws, but then started dragging and dragging. It was like pulling teeth to get them to do work. Finally they just stopped showing up. I had another plumber come in to finish the job. The mistakes he had to correct from John’s guys have cost me thousands of dollars.

We were in need of a plumber quick as I work in an office with two other ladies and couldn't use the bathroom. I called Anthony and he was out fixing our toilet in a few hours. He really came to the rescue for us! I would highly recommend AP Plumbing.
