We live in a 1940s home in uptown Vancouver that was having sewer problems. We had multiple sewer backups into our basement that was really getting frustrating. We had several plumbers come out and tell us our old pipes were collapsing and being infiltrated with tree roots. Their solution was to dig up our whole backyard and replace the pipes - that were about 9 feet down in some places. The cost of this? Over $15,000 and we would be left with a ruined backyard and the cost to replace all the established trees and landscaping. We started to search for another solution. In our search we came across David at Sewer Renewal. He came out and discovered some things that we didn't know and worked with our neighbors (whom we shared a line behind our house) to do a multi-house job. David and his team were professional and problem solvers. When the first way didn't work they found a second way to fix the problem. They worked with the city of Vancouver to determine which lines to fix and which the city was responsible for while giving us top quality value. Sewer lines are not exciting but what is exciting is knowing we won't be getting back ups into our basement and that our home is resellable in the future. Our water heater tank reached its end of life very dramatically in April of ’23. Needing to replace it ASAP, we called a few plumbers and after sending a quick text with pictures of our situation to Courtney at Sutherland, we were on a call with Ti. Ti took the time to explain the pros and cons of multiple water heater systems, leading us to land on two viable options followed by prompt quotes in our inbox.

Because we switched from a natural gas tank to an electric tank, Sutherland handled scheduling an electrician as well as the tank removal/install. Both appointments went smoothly, and Cameron and Jack who came to install the tank were so professional, kind and efficient. It was very clear from all of our interactions with the Sutherland team that they are true to their word, highly skilled, and live up to their motto of providing best practice over simply going for the minimum standard.

Had River City look at septic. Pleasant, professional fellow Ricardo. Most septic tank uncovered. Dug 10 minutes, found lid, level in tank very low. No need to pump. Will charge service call he said. Was there an hour. Bill comes, show 2.5 hours.for digging. $ 245. Wow. I have called twice and talked to folks. Waiting for supervisor to call me back. I e-mailed a few weeks back. no response. They seem busy and unhappy. Last person said she was going to swear at me. Why? Because their reason for bill is fiction.Have not paid, hope to get resolved. Be careful.

Watch out for these guys! Tailgating and speeding in a construction zone... Very dangerous on the road today!

Smitty's Sewer was recommended as a company able to deal with a potentially broken storm drain pipe. They were responsive and fitted us into their schedule both for the initial evaluation and for doing the work (turns out we needed to have a rain garden installed to avoid the broken storm drain). In December 2022 when everyone is scheduling into January Smitty's was ready to take on this relatively small job almost immediately. Mario made the whole thing seamless and our larger remodeling plans were not disrupted but greatly helped by his responsiveness. The company was on time, professional, kept the area tidy, communicated well, worked hard, and provided cost effective service. We will definitely reach out to them in the future for drain cleaning and other pipe related services. Thanks for the good work and happy year-end holidays to all!

Bruner plumbing will definitely get my repeat business after they fit me in within 30 minutes(!) of first contacting them. Granted my problem was small but still needed attention. The technician, Robert, was very proficient in correcting my problem and the price was very fair, all things considered!

Precision Plumbing fixed our leaking main quickly, effectively, and at a very reasonable cost, the same day that we called him. Another plumbing company gave us an estimate that was as much as a small used car!

We have used Mr. Rooter on many occasions,In Portland and in Bend. The reason we are committed to using Mr. Rooter is they never disappoint. From scheduling to the plumbers they make sure you are well taken care of and very accommodating for YOUR schedule. The other evening a plumber was scheduled late in the afternoon to accommodate our tile setters timeline, the installation of the shower valve was tricky...he stayed until Midnight to get the project done!!!You could not ask for better service!

We had a clog down our drain pipe for our washer and Jeff got it sorted out in a few minutes. We tried getting it unclogged with a rented equipment from Home Depot ourselves but with no success. You gotta let the professional, Jeff in this case, do what he do best.
