My clients needed a new disconnect installed for their AC unit, in the middle of the heatwave, of course, and Green Box was able to squeeze us in within 24 hours of me calling them for an appt. They were proactive with what needed to be done and came prepared with the correct parts they needed. I work with many different contractors in my line of work, and these guys will be first on my list to call. Total professionals! On the way out of the appt, I asked Mike (the electrician) if he knew someone who could service a gas fireplace that didn’t have any type of model number attached to it, and he poked around the fireplace, told me he couldn’t remember the name of a place that could help me, but told me he’d call me if he did remember, and he called me about an hour later with the contact info! He didn’t have to do this. He went above and beyond and I love nothing more than to be able to send this level of service to my clients. I’m a fan for life.

Emily in Dispatch was amazing. She listened to my leakage problem and actually got me an appointment the very next day. Doug was our plumbing technician and he was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He problem solved a part that did not have a replacement available. I am fearful that with all their great service I might not get a future appointment as quickly, but kiddos to the Apollo team for making a bad situation without any water in the house a fast and professional fix. I will call them again for plumbing needs and have already started telling my friends about my great experience.

Do yourself a favor and read the other 1 star reviews. I don't write 1 star reviews often. And I've taken a week to really consider whether I should but I wished I would have taken the other reviews to heart and hired someone else.

I recently moved into a new place in Portland and had 2 simple tasks for a plumber. Connect a cold water line to my water filter and assemble 2 bidets to the toilets. My plumber in Seattle did these things in less than an hour and charged me $50. It was a completely different story with Detemple. Tom V took 4 hours and charged me $744!

The water filter didn't take too long but Tom said the bidets didn't fit my toilets too well. One he got to work and the other he decided to go back to the shop and find a new toilet seat and it really doesn't fit like it should but he decided he'd force it and spend 3 hours on this job.

Unfortunately, my building only allows residents to use 2 plumbing companies. The other had worse reviews so I've let them know my experience and have requested that residents be allowed to find another company with much better reviews.

J&M services/Portland Gas Piping were absolutely stellar to work with, start to finish. They ran a new gas line for an electric-to-gas range conversion. They were professional, timely, friendly, and excellent with follow-up help when I was installing the range myself. I can't recommend them enough!

The crew showed up 15 minutes ahead of schedule and though I was a little apprehensive of how young they were, or at least appeared, I was quite quickly impressed with the technical knowledge and skills Thomas and Nick delivered. They did an outstanding job of the highest quality and our new heat pump and air handling system was installed, duct modifications made, and running by 3:00 PM the next day. A truly professional job by professional employees. This company is the definition of service.

Beware of the pricing. These guys are the contractor that home depot uses and they take advantage of home depot credibility. They ripped me off and charged me much more money than their first quote and also compared to other providers. I only trusted them because of Home Depot. They also told me I can return the water heater at the installation time and even gave me a form to sign, but later when I called them they denied having such thing. Do your research and don't select them just because of Home Depot.

tl;dr undisclosed $300/hour traveling fee after hours is ridiculous.We had a plumbing emergency. When we called they told us that because it was around the holidays and after hours, there would be a $300 dispatch fee which would go towards services rendered. When the plumber finally showed up, he quoted the entire project would cost $850.We asked for an itemized breakdown, which he was reluctant to give. $300 was from the dispatch, then there was a travel fee. He told us he's not supposed to tell us how much they charged, but finally told us that they charge $300 AN HOUR FOR TRAVEL TIME. Then the added $250 was for parts and labor. None of this was disclosed to us (especially the $300/hour travel fee) and we would not have called them out if they would have been upfront. We told him these were not the terms we agreed to and refused to do work with their company.When we called them the next day to say that these fees were not properly disclosed, the woman on the phone laughed at us and called us liars multiple times. We had someone come out and do the same job the next day for $150. Do NOT do business with this company.
