My household had a terrible experience with D&F Plumbing, and I wanted to write this review to hopefully prevent others from having similar experiences and to help the company change. I'll do my best to be brief and objective in highlighting the issues with this company and our plumbing experience. We had plumbers Aaron and Brandon come to fix a leak we had been experiencing from a pipe leaking through our ceiling.Aaron initially quoted us $1300, when he opened up our ceiling and saw the issue two days later after the assessment, the price became $3500. They then worked on it for about 12 hours that day. They left on a few occasions for between 30 min - 1 hr each time without communicating where they were going. Aaron frequently seemed frustrated at how challenging the job was telling us at different points that he was frustrated, had tried every trick in the book, and that it was the hardest job I've ever had. Totally reasonable for a job to be hard, but they did not bring in any back-up or admit that it may have been a job outside their scope. The end result of their job was a pipe jutting outwards from our wall rather than within the wall, excessive demolition of the wall and ceiling beyond what was needed, a hole in the wall in the adjacent room to the pipes, a toilet put back in the floor out of alignment with exposed cracks in the floor, and to top it off one of the pipes leaked periodically for at least that evening, we had to put a bucket down. I've attached pictures of some of this. They left the house very dirty without cleaning up various leftovers of drywall dust and debris. Aaron did not say anything about the hole in our kitchen wall. The way they finished this job will require us paying contractors and plumbing much more than we would have needed if we had gone with another plumber initially.Aftermath:The next day, we initially called to complain about the plumbing job, they said they would get back to us with someone more in charge of the business, they never did. Instead plumber Aaron shows up at our house unannounced that day. He sat around our living room waiting for my landlord to finish up with counseling sessions he already had scheduled. It was very awkward to have a stranger, in Covid times especially, milling around our common areas. When asked why he was here he stated “I thought I would just come by, this isn’t the kind ofthing you talk about over the phone, so I thought I would come in person.” When my landlord did talk to him, he was highly defensive. We have tried reaching out to the company through a good friend's assistance who is a professional contractor, they have been evasive with him and have not gotten back in touch with him or us about this debacle of a plumbing job. He tried to visit them in person from the address listed here on google, he could not find any business at the address named or related to D&F Plumbing. Maybe they moved? It was very odd they didn't tell him that wasn't their address when he told the receptionist he was going to come talk in person. We have had two contractors and another plumber come inspect their work and they all agree that it was poor quality work and that they were trying to overcharge us for what they were doing.D&F Plumbing, there is still an opportunity for you to put this right. If you reach out to me I will connect you to the contractor who has been trying to get in touch with you. For everyone else, I would recommend you go elsewhere for your plumbing needs, at least as of now, this was a terrible plumbing experience for us and I wouldn't wish it on anyone else. It's sad that a company would put us through this and not communicate or try to make right their plumbing job during a time as difficult as this for all of us.Terrible Plumbing Experience with D&F Plumbing - Go With Another Company
