Best Service Contract in Minneapolis MN

Had them out a year ago for a malfunctioning AC. Didn't know much about it. A couple guys from Erickson stopped by and said we needed to replace the AC unit for a cost upwards of 8k. Thought that was fishy. Asked a second opinion from a different contractor and was quoted $400-600 for malfunctioning vents. Erickson also did a poor job of work on repairing leaky faucet, one job needed a second repair a year later from a different contractor. Shop around and don't take their first offer. I was offered a bill credit for some mistakes they made, rather just wash my hands completely of this company. Warned friends and neighbors.

I called with an emergency plumbing issue on a Saturday evening. They helped me triage the issue over the phone and helped me save hundreds of dollars in water damage and repair. I really appreciated how helpful and kind they were in giving me advice on how to save on an emergency visit too.

Pablo was quick, professional and knew exactly how to solve the problem. He got us up and running and made a couple recommendations for avoiding future issues. Highly recommend and will return as a customer.

Northern Plumbing and Softening were outstanding! Mason was our onsite installer, he was on time, very professional and answered all of my questions, offered thoughtful ideas and answered my Wife’s questions too. It’s very obvious to me that Mason is very capable, knowledgeable and was just pleasant to have come to our home to replace our water softener.

Our Sales Rep was Jon Lund and he is very knowledgeable and professional as well, with many years of experience. He was very timely and efficient at getting us scheduled for repair at our cabin up north.

Be aware, this is my first review about any service, on any platform, but certainly warranted here.The job:Okay so I'll admit I should have gotten more estimates for my project prior to service, but I typically trust companies with a lot of local ads to be truthful and do a good job. Plus, I like to support local companies.In my case I needed to install a basement sink quickly because we just bought our house and were going to do a full remodel on our kitchen right away after moving into the house and didn't have a second sink and I didn't have the time to do it myself.We were on a tight timeline - we moved in and I had a demo planned for a couple weeks after and I work full time with a 1year old - so I called HomeWorks to see if they could help get a utility sink installed since we didn't have one.I called on a weekend, described my project, and they said, Sure! We can get someone out that same day.I thought, Wow, I must have gotten lucky with their availability So I agreed. FYI - Didn't need same day, but they offered and didn't explain that was an extra cost.Once they got there they explained that it would cost $2,500 for the install, which seemed pretty steep, but I thought - having just bought the house - there might be more issues than I thought. Plus they told me there would be a $100 charge just for coming out if I said, No to the estimate - despite not telling me that on the call.After the job was done, they informed me that although the job was 'technically' to code, I should check with another plumber about other parts of my overall plumbing installation because what they had done was not what they normally would have recommend. Uh...What? Still can't explain that.I asked why they didn't tell me that ahead of time, and they said they were just doing what I asked - thanks for that, probably would do it correctly (and BTW a larger job for your company) if you would have made the recommendation.Then after he left I looked more closely at what was done...1. Utility sink - $400 (max)2. Maybe 5-ft copper pipe + valves $100 (max)3. Delivery of sink - ($50 max)$550 in parts$1950 labor/install - 3 hrs. That's $650/ hr.Called after the fact to dispute, they said they've checked with their competition and what they charge is fair.... I guess I chose the wrong profession.Please do not use this company - especially if you don't need same day service. The work they did was fine, but $650/hr is completely unreasonable, and they 100% seem willing to take advantage if you are unaware of your situation.Will never use this company again. Just too many other good plumbers out there willing to be fair and transparent.

Waste, of my time through warranty company, first they blame the tenant, now they said they talked to me this morning, NOT> They should not accept orders if they can not accomodate/or provide needed services in a timely manner. Five days I cannot get back!
