I woke up Sunday morning to see the street flooded from my water main. I just had a plumber “repair” it 2 days ago and it burst again! I called Mr. Degan on Sunday to leave a VM. He called me back within 10 min and said that he was at church and would come to me in 1 hr. He did come and fixed the leak the same day. I had water again in 5 hrs! Mr. Degan was a God-sent to me! I called several other plumbers before I reached Mr. Degan and they all were either too busy or gave me a crazy estimate of $1,700 (from Conway Services)! Mr. Degan fixed my water main for $375! Mr. Degan is a deeply religious man and he treats his customers like God would want him to do so. Unfortunately, you will not be able to find such an honest plumber. Did I say that Mr. Degan was God-sent to me?!

On Sunday, March 20, 2022 sewage at our house started to back upin our tubs when the toilets were flushed. We also had standing water in the shower. This problem had occurred in the past; however, the water eventually drained out. We did not think there was a major issue.This time the water did not drain and every time the water was turned on in the tub more standing water with sewage remained. We had read very good reviews about Smith Plumbing; however, it was already late in the afternoon on Sunday and they were not available to come to the house. John, who was on call, did return our phone call promptly and was very helpful. He advised me on what to do and even gave me names of others to call if we needed service immediately. On Monday morning March 21, we were called first thing and Ethan was at our house by 10 AM. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained our options with prices. Because the job was going to take specialized equipment to either place a cable in the cleanout pipe or use a jett to clear the pipes, Ethan called two other employees, German and Daniel, who came to the house a couple of hours later with the equipment. German was very knowledgeable as well and explained the problem in detail in terms we could understand. Using the jett was more powerful and expensive than the cable; however, German did not pressure us into one or the other. We ended up using the jett and the problem was fixed. We even saw video of the newly cleaned out pipes. We were extremely pleased with the service we received from everyone at Smith Plumbing. They seemed genuinely concerned about getting us back to normal and making sure we were satisfied. We will definitely use them in the future.

Deceptive business practices. Asked for kitchen faucet installation and estimate on leaking basement drain. Was told that two plumbers would come if required to do the job. Since job was a simple kitchen faucet installation, only one plumber was needed. But one plumber came and along with his very inexperienced apprentice. They charged $80 per hour for each for over five hours. Plumber was competent and polite, but left house with faucet failing to shut off properly and without giving estimate. I called the office about 10 times asking for assistance with persistent leaking faucet and for the promised estimate on basement drain. Receptionist was invariably polite, but the return call she promised multiple times from the manager never came. We finally had to call another plumber to fix the faucet and the basement drain. Exorbitant prices. Terrible value. Horrible customer service. Very disappointing.

I experienced a clogged sink issue after Thanksgiving. Four days later, after leaving messages for two plumbers I had previously hired, I had still not heard back from them. I called Anthony, the plumber, on a Sunday. They were available on Monday. The issue was resolved, the professional showed up on time, and there was constant, transparent communication throughout. After the problem was fixed, extra care was taken to keep the area neat and secure. Caleb performed admirably. strongly advise. Excellent support!
