On a Friday, about noon, I discovered our sewer line was clogged. I was able to get an appointment with Michael & Son for late that afternoon. Sherman arrived about 4:30, and by 6:30pm everything was working again, and the bathroom was left in good condition. Very professional, swift, and prompt. I recommend Michael & Son!

Stay far away unless you enjoy being ripped off. I had my AC unit serviced during the spring and thought they did a pretty good job so I signed up for a service contract. They came out in October for the first scheduled checkup and told me that my 10 year old furnace was emitting 400 parts per million of carcinogens and that by law it had to be shut off until repaired. They gave me a price of $1123 for a new gas valve, discounted to $955 because I had a service contract. They also said that if that did not fix the problem I would need to have the furnace replaced at a cost of 5-8K, or my whole HVAC unit replaced for 10-15K. Since this was their first visit, and the weather was getting to the point where we would need to start using the heat, the light bulbs went off and I started doing some research. I found the gas valve for our furnace online for $49. I could not find any gas valves for more than $225. I could easily do the repair myself in about 10 minutes. A replacement furnace cost $1500. I then called BGE Home and asked them to come by and do a routine safety check. They found everything to be in working order and measured the emissions at 20 parts per million, well within acceptable levels. Needless to say, I canceled the service contract. I'm giving them 1 star because the site won't let me give them zero. Buyer beware, and be warned!

I would recommend Mike's Plumbing and Heating Services because they promptly responded to my backed up drain issue. The technician was very nice, he evaluated the problem I was having and gave me several repair options, explaining each option. They made the necessary repairs and within a couple hours my drains were opened and my problem was resolved. Their cleanup was excellent, you would never know I had any kind of problem. I paid these people upfront To repair a waterline. They dug up my yard and could not find where the water was coming from. They left my yard with two giant 3 to 4 foot holes for two days. Very unresponsive to texts and emails. I guess you get what you pay for! And they are cheap, cheap price and cheap quality!

Upon arriving in Baltimore, after being away for two months, we could not get the pilot on our water heater lighted. Upon calling AJ Michaels, a tech was immediately dispatched (despite it being late afternoon), and found our older appliance on its last legs. Rather than try a repair with after market parts, he recommended replacement at a reasonable cost. We accepted, and the job was completed by 1:30 pm the next day. Very clean. No water on the floor. Very professionally done. That’s why AJ Michaels has been our HVAC/plumbing contractor of choice for the past 12 years.

Called this morning and they were here before noon to fix the issue. Liam was kind, courteous and professional. We use Alpha Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs!
