Have used A J Michaels for years and years and highly recommend them!

We have used AJ Michaels numerous times including new AC and Furnance both done with great professionalism and quality work years ago. We recently had the AC worked on as it was not cooling and after a deep cleaning outside and system check, it is now very cool. We just had our Refrigerator water line replaced as it was running slow, it now takes a few seconds to fill a glass of water. To Donna and team of Matty and Greg they are the best, high quality work and very friendly, I would recommend to everyone. Keep up the great work!

Needed a new AC and Heating system to cover 4500 sq.'. A.J. Michaels installed a high efficiency Carrier Infinity Series. They treated me like Family; Professional, Courteous, On Time. Would always recommend 1st.
Better than that, they were 20% lower than BGE Home for the same system!!!

Unfortunately discovered that we needed a new compressor and air handler - one of two in our system. But AJ Michaels worked with us to install quickly during hot weather, and with great care and personal attention. Very nice attentive experts. Responsive to questions, concerns - professional and trust-worthy!

Edit to owner's response: First, I understand that there needs to be a permit pulled. What I don't understand is why it took Chris Darr over three weeks to get back to us and only after constant calling (he blames an office mix-up). What I don't understand is why Mr. Darr and everyone else at the office says that they have record of the work, but no contract. We have the financing paperwork here at the house. Mr. Darr knows the work was done. So you saying my mother failed to provide a contract, seems to be a superfluous claim. What I don't understand is how the city has been out three times and says it's on my side, I paid an independent company and I have their report saying it's on my side (which I showed to your people), but you're saying that you have your doubts that you're even responsible for it? What I don't understand is the job supervisor getting crappy with my elderly mother on the phone yesterday when this entire thing has been mishandled by your company from day one. These are the things that I have problems understanding... not about the permit.

If I could rate in negative, I would. The run around and complete disrespect I have seen these men give to my elderly mother is appalling. Work has a lifetime guarantee, but good luck getting anyone at the company to do anything about it. Almost two months later from the initial call, and not one thing has been started. Every time we call and say that they need to come out and fix the pipe because it is washing away our yard, the water bill is so high we can't pay it, etc., we are told that they'll get here when they get here, and everything else is not our problem. The one gentleman even told my mother that he wished there wasn't a lifetime guarantee on the work because she keeps bothering him. So sorry that you don't want to do your job, but our livelihood is being affected and her home is being ruined because you all are playing around instead of doing the work.

I regret doing business with this company. They replaced my dead furnace two years ago. The installation was ok, and had no issues for a while other than noticing a lower performance compared to the previous one, but that was bearable. Recently however I had a problem they are supposed to fix (while the furnace is still under warranty) and things became complicated. The crew had to came to my place 4 times for an easy fix. This means that 4 times I had to take some time off work. Far from ideal. Missy over the phone is very nice, though.

If you are looking for a company that you can trust, you have found it. From Paul coming out to look at what was needed to getting me a quote quickly . Very professional at installation,(Brian) clean, friendly, even the VP came out to check how it was all going. Best price from the 4 I had quotes from. I picked the RIGHT company for my HVAC. I also manage a small Condo building and will use them, if needed for plumbing issues.

We had to replace our entire HVAC system which is never a good thing money wise. Michaels came out and assessed what needed to be done, and to my surprise left without making a pitch but with a promise to send me an offer.

They sent an offer, and it was a good deal (well better than our existing HVAC guy) considering the time of the year. They did have a problem getting us on the calendar quickly, but came back to us and pushed us in seeing I was set for surgery and needed AC after I came home. Didn't want to be laid up and immobile without AC. I am very happy they found a way to get it done.

The installation team showed up early and as far as I can see did a very good job. It was a father and son team which I think is a good thing.

At present, 5 days after the installation, all is well !!!

The AJ Michaels team that came to my home not only completed the work detailed in the proposal but they left the premises in a much better state than when they arrived. The work order provided all services necessary to pass the Howard County inspection and it was completed on schedule. We also had run new water lines above the slab in my home which was built in 1976, this required moving the washer / dryer and the installation of new outdoor water spouts. What amazed us was that they actually cleaned the dryer duct and provided guidance for future care. Excellent job. We highly recommend this company for service, Sincerely, Al and Darlene Striano.

The sales staff was very professional and maintained communication every step of the process. The installation people were on time, professional, and after installing the new AC and Furnace, left my home clean. I expected them to be here all day, but they finished in the early afternoon. And by 5PM, I have a cool home again. Thank you.

They installed my new heat pump a full week after they told me they would install it knowing it was summer and the temp upstairs was oppressive. Once installed the heat pump stopped working a day later and once again, I had to contact then for an emergency service call. They put too much fluid in the line and we endured several additional days without air conditioning. Not a pleasurable experience. My other estimate was only $200 more and I should have gone with Blue Star.

I have used A.J. Michaels for 15+ years. Just had to have a boiler replaced and they were my first call. The team that handled the install was friendly and professional and did a great job.

I have used AJ Michaels for years and was happy with the service, until recently. I own several rental properties in the Baltimore area and I am constantly repairing/replacing HVAC units. I had AJ Michaels come repair an AC unit. It took server days before I got a call telling me they need to get parts. It took another couple of week before they told me they were unable to get parts. Once they sent the service call bill, I was able to Google the make, model, and parts needed, which I found in a matter of minutes. When I told them I was able to find parts, they acted surprised and were supposed to get back to me regarding ordering and installing the parts. I finally called another company, which came out, replaced the capacitor and recharged the unit……NOT THE PROBLEMS LISTED ON THE INVOICE, no special parts needed! I will never use them again!

We recently called A.J. Michaels to replace our terra cotta sewer pipes with new pipes. The price was reasonable and they did an outstanding job. I've seen other houses getting the pipes replaced in their front yard and the plumber rips up their entire yard. That's the way it was done 30 years ago. Today, it should be much cleaner. A.J. Michaels dug a reasonable hole at the house and a hole at the end of the yard ONLY. Now I have to do a little landscaping and cement work, but once that's done you'll have no idea they dug up my yard. And the water in my house is flowing again with no backups! I highly recommend them! In fact, I've called them several times before. They also replaced my clean water line years ago. Both times profession service and I'm a satisfied customer.

It's rare that I leave a review, and I don't think I've ever gushed about a contractor, but A.J. Michaels deserves a great review for going above and beyond in every way with the purchase and installation of our heat pump.

Beginning with the quote, A.J. Michaels came in far lower than the other two companies I had come in. Paul, the estimator, actually looked at what I had and listened to what I wanted to accomplish. He was the only one who provided a quote for a job that would fully satisfy my goals, which were getting off of oil heating and removing the oil tank. I'm still not sure why I couldn't get anyone else to agree to do that.

As for installation, Kyle and DJ, the technicians, were polite, professional, and friendly. They came on time, laid plastic down on the carpet to make sure they wouldn't stain it, showed me what they were going to do, answered all my questions, and respected my need for them to wear masks. Most importantly, they went out of their way to respect my need to work in my home office while they completed the installation. They even made sure that we had heat before they left the first day because of the cold weather.

Since the installation, which went very well, they have contacted me to make sure that I was satisfied with the job, and even brought a small box of cookies by as a thank you. I don't know about the rest of you, but I generally find it hard to get a contractor to show up at all, let alone provide such an extremely high level of service.

We've had our heat pump running for a month now, in cold and hot weather. It's extremely quiet and does a much better job regulating the temperature then the old oil furnace and AC unit ever did. Best of all, we've gotten rid of that heating oil smell and have a lot more room in our utility room since the tank is gone!

I would highly recommend A.J. Michaels for every single aspect of their performance and price.

A.J. Michaels quoted us $23,571 to replace our boiler. The cost of the replacement parts is around $5700 retail, so that's $18,271 in labor and miscellaneous expenses. We did not opt to go with them.

Always great service, great people doing super work. Been using them for a long time, and have never been disappointed!

Unhappy with the overall experience. Called days ago to schedule a plumber to come handle our main line issue, he (brian) was scheduled to come between 12 and 4p with a call when he was 30 minutes out. I took off for this and kept our dog in the crate while we awaited his arrival so there would be no issues. At 340p I had to call them to see what was going on. No updates from Brian or their office. Amy tells me Brian was going to call me shortly, he is about 15 minutes out. I say how unprofessional, what happened to the 30 minute away call, an update or something. She back tracks and says I'm just giving you a time, he was going to call. Repeatedly asks if we want to cancel. Apparently you don't value my business if you are so quick to cancel. I agree to have him come out anyway despite the inconvenience but after I think it over, we cancel. Only good thing was they were cheaper than some places and provided an upfront cost, well range. Would suggest working on the custom service because it was nonexistent.

We had a great experience with A.J. Michaels. They were quick to respond - getting a person on-site the day that we called. Although there have been delays in getting one of the components in the cooling, our delay was not very long at all. In the meantime, they filled up our system with freon and provided us with A/C Window units to make sure we were not suffering from the heat. They provided quick installation, and in no time, we had a new heating and A/C System. Our installers - Kyle and Chuck were great - very friendly, educated us on our new system, and provided outstanding work. My neighbor referred me to A.J. Michaels, and I will definitely refer my friends to them. They are a First Class company!

This is the second time Ive rated AJ Michaels 5 stars. We did extensive research before choosing them for a hybrid heat pump and water heater install. The proposal gave us what we needed and what we wanted in a system. Price was very comparable to competition, but mostly I trusted their word based on my previous experience
The chief technician Cory, was very respectful, knowledgeable and clearly wanted us to be satisfied, He came across a problem and called in another technician( his supervisor I think) to confer. The problem was solved and they proceeded. I asked him to delay the installation of the compressor because rain had caused my garden to be muddy and I didnt want my garden to be trampled on to get the unit in place. They agreed to install the next day and it went very smoothly.
We are very happy with our new system and I once again feel they have earned a 5 star rating.

Horrible customer service. I had an entire heat pump system put in 11 years ago. The compressor died last year. The technician came out and suggested replacing the compressor and that it would last about five years. The cost of the compressor and installation was almost $2000. Less than a year later, the new compressor died. It took A.J. Michaels almost a week to come out to tell us the new compressor died and had the gall to charge $99 for the visit. They then informed me that the compressor was only on a 30 day warranty. This was never presented in any paperwork that I was given. I was told that I would need an entire new system and the most they could do was give me a $320 credit. I spoke to a rude and condescending manager named Jim who gave me a lengthy explanation about why he didn't need customers like me and that $320 was all he would do for me. Needless to say, I filed a complaint with the BBB and went with a different company that fully backs their work.

Because of the age of my system and a few other problems I was
experiencing, after hours of obtaining info about HVAC installations,
I chose A.J. Michaels to do my replacement because of their reputation
online and a recommendation from the Carrier Corp. that the were
factory authorized to install their equipment. The two employees of
A.J. Michaels used coverings and other means to keep my carpet
and other paarts of my home clean. After about 6 hours, the installation
was complete and they explained to me how certain parts of the new
system worked. the new replacement equipment looked great and
I would definitely recommend A.J. Michaels to any of my relatives,
friends or anyone that is having heating or air conditioning problems.

Called for an estimate on a specific gas test. They wanted nearly $2000 for a 2 hour test. Called 4 other plumbing companies and they all averaged $600. These guys pricing is off the charts. Do they subcontract all their work and then the subcontracts subcontract one more level down? 3 times more expensive then other companies, 4 times more expensive then an independent plumber.

AJ Michael's proved me with the best price for my mini splits and boiler. They were prompt and courteous.

I woke up to find I my hot water tank leaking. I went to the manufacturers website (AO Smith) to find an authorized dealer. AJ Michael had good reviews so I gave them a call. Within a few hours they had Paul come out to look at my hot water tank and give me an estimate. Since this was my first experience with having to replace a hot water tank I wanted to get at least one more estimate for price comparison. I called a smaller company, they came out and gave an estimate that was several hundred dollars higher. I went back and called AJM, ordered the tank and the following day they came out to install first thing in the morning. It took a few hours. I'm very pleased. The guys were professional, even put down plastic on the carpet so they wouldn't get it dirty when removing the old hot water tank. I appreciate that level of detail. The new one was installed and they also replaced some pac pipes that were leaking right above the hot water tank. I had some questions about temperature settings for the new tank vs. the old and the guys were able to explain and also double check the factory set temp on the old compared to the new. Added info. that was great. I'm very pleased with the service and the follow up a few days later from the office. I'd recommend AJM and would look to them first if another need came up.

After calling a few companies to install a new A/C unit in my condo and getting the run around, I found A.J. Michaels. They were the most professional and courteous; and prompt at returning my calls. Beginning with the sales department, followed by customer service and finally installation; the entire company was truly courteous and professional. I could not ask for a better scenario and will be both recommending and utilizing A.J. Michaels for future needs.

Our old gas boiler failed in early March, when there were plenty of chilly days. We received several proposals and chose A. J. Michaels. Their estimator returned calls and emails promptly and provided fair and understandable answers to my many questions (we live in a house built in the 1800s - nothing is ever simple!). Another company recommended a more expensive boiler that would have added little to efficiency, one took over a week to send their estimate, and another never even called back despite knowing we were without heat. A. J. Michaels replaced the boiler the same week that I called. The workers were professional, polite, and efficient. The unit functions well, and they cleaned up the area completely before leaving. We are very satisfied.

Team showed up on time to replace our 50yr old HVAC. They got to work quickly and did an excellent job taking out the old , solving limited space issues and getting the new unit up and running. They thoroughly explained future maintenance needs. Highly recommend.

My mom and aunt, who are from out of state and needed a plumber for a family tragedy, called AJ Michael Plumbing as a second opinion. (Water was backing up in the drain in the basement) I am SO glad they did!! The first company didn't even check anything inside and was ready to dig up the back yard and charge them over 6,000.00!! Your employee, unfortunately my mom can't remember his name, went directly downstairs, checked the drain, cleaned it and fixed the problem for $79.00!!! I got multiple estimates on switching from oil to gas heat and installing a hot water heater, along with adding an additional heating zone. AJ Michaels had the best price. Paul came to my home and we discussed in detail the various options. We talked on more than one occasion, just to make sure that we had a clear understanding of what I wanted. They were highly organized and had great communication with scheduling everything to complete the project, which also included installation of a chimney liner and the removal of my oil tank. This was a huge project. The technicians Rick, Ricky, and Anthony did an amazing job. Very professional. Quality workmanship. They completed the project, and I was incredibly happy with the results. I felt that they definitely went above and beyond. AJ Michaels is a quality company, and I would recommend them.

Outstanding service, response, and professional care. Also the nicest bunch of people in the business. They have done all heating and plumbing in my home for over a decade, installed boiler, HVAC, serviced, and repaired. This is an exceptional group of folks. They have solved problems that other plumbing/heating professionals told me could not be done. For example, they installed air-conditioning system and vents in the attic of my 75 year old home when others said it was not possible.

I had a hot water heater go down in a rental unit of mine on a Wednesday. By Thursday morning AJM had a tech out to look at the unit and had a new unit installed by Friday morning. Needless to say that my tenant was ecstatic! Everyone, from the receptionist/service coordinator to the tech, was awesome to work with. They were professional, friendly and accommodating.

Our water pressure was low. David and Nick arrived promptly as scheduled, quickly diagnosed the problem, provided an immediate estimate, and replaced the pressure valve, correcting the issue. They checked all sinks and showers and cleaned up before leaving. Great service. I recommend them highly.

Great service, they always call before the technician(s) arrive. Technicians are always happy to explain things so you understand what is going on and how things work, so you know what they’re fixing and why. All work done was very neat and everything cleaned up very well when done.

Professional, competent and courteous. Hired AJ Michael’s to install a new replacement boiler for my homes one pipe steam radiator heating system. AJ Michael’s team installed and piped the replacement boiler in accordance with manufacturers specifications and corrected near piping and return errors made long ago by another installer. Home now heats fast with 12 hot radiators with no hissing or noise. Thank you Jack, Boddie, Paul and Ryan.

I did not realize how fortunate I was to have included A. J. Michaels as a company of interest when shopping to replace my HVAC unit that had stopped working. I had received a quote from three companies and A. J. Michaels provided me the best offer. The sales agent who worked with me was very pleasant and helped me determine which model unit was suitable for my condo under the brand name I preferred. There was no hard sell or pressure, which allowed for a comfortable transaction. At the same time, I contracted the company to provide scheduled maintenances for my HVAC unit and have always been highly satisfied with their customer service representatives and service technicians. They put forth every effort to please their customers, in a most pleasant and patient manner. Anyone who is shopping for a new heating and air conditioning unit and/or services should begin with A. J. Michaels, because it’s unlikely you’re want to look anywhere else.

AJ Michaels showed up on time and did a great job overall and they had the best price for my boiler replacement as I had many estimates with a broad range. Also, their customer service was very good as they communicated with me thru out the process. They lent me some space heaters as I had no heat prior to the install--old boiler broke-- and they even filed the warranty for my boiler!

Awesome install of multiple mini-splits! My house has some pretty high walls, and they tackled the job perfectly. Very happy customer here.

The guys got here about 7:30am we were told they would start at 9:00am. Aside from my wife and I being taken by surprise we didn't mind them starting early. I believe their work was done well and they cleaned up and finished about noon. They replaced both the water heater and sump pump. The guys were very nice and curitous. I definitely would deal with AJ Michael's again. From sales to scheduling and installation a very pleasant experience.

It was a long and frustrating search to find a company who could expand and service my high velocity air conditioning system. Once I found A.J. Michaels, my problems were solved. They added new lines to my system in a professional, efficient and friendly way. Everything from assessment to scheduling, to installation, to clean-up was perfect. They are my new AC company!

I can't say enough positive things about the A J Michaels team. I'm sure there are a lot of companies that will happily install an HVAC system, but A J Michaels actually listened to what I needed and came up with a system solution that met my needs. A.J. Michaels replaced my entire heating and cooling system with one designed specifically to meet the needs of my small ranch house. The cost of the new system ended up being the same as replacing my air conditioning unit, only (the original issue), due to A.J. Michaels’s expertise with rebates and energy programs. In addition to the new HVAC system, A.J. Michaels sealed the air ducts throughout my home with a new product called Aeroseal. My home is now extremely energy efficient. More important, my home is now extremely comfortable, room to room and season to season!

Everyone we interacted with at A.J. Michaels was amazing. Shortly after getting quotes our water heater failed. Chris, our initial contact, worked hard to get us a temporary unit and get us on the schedule. The guys who came to instal our new high efficiency boiler and water heater were amazing. My wife and I contracted with A J. Michaels to install a new air conditioning unit (including air handler) and a new not water baseboard furnace (with major design upgrades, including pumps instead of TACO valves). The system was expensive, but we chose it because we believed it was worth it, if properly installed. We were not disappointed with the final product. The installation was truly exceptional. The wiring, plumbing and all related hardware was installed with great care and attention. The plumbing crew showed up promptly each morning and worked efficiently. They treated us with great courtesy and were open to any questions we might raise. I highly recommend A. J. Michaels for any heating or air conditioning work that needs to be done in residential property.

Technician came and identified problem within 5 minutes, AC was up and running in 20 minutes, so, no problem there. The trouble, I am experiencing is the company terribly overcharge for parts. FOUR times over. Motor run capacitor was replaced, $ 280 were charged for single part. On eBay, same exact part number cost $ 71 and shipping is free. This is WAY to much. You do the math.

In our new to us house the previous owner had installed a sub par heating and cooling system that would never operate well. We contacted AJ Michaels to see what could be done. They came out and evaluated the situation. He quickly came up with a solution. It was not the cheapest up front but, It will save us a ton in the long run as it is way more efficient. The quality of materials and workmanship is top notch. These guys know what they are doing and they know the product they are selling. After going through a few seasons now we have a home that is so comfortable and costs less to heat and cool. Great company to deal with.

Had 3 estimates for a big plumbing job. A.J. Michaels came in with the best price. Everyone I dealt with was professional and courteous. They did a great job and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

When my heating system - furnace and boiler - collapsed a few weeks ago (temperature in the 40s, then 30s), A.J. Michaels came the same day to inspect what was wrong, and within fifteen minutes sent a very personable and knowledgeable employee to explain my options, the costs, and how long it would take. I sent their estimate to my nephew, who checked it and told me it was a fair price (under ten thousand $ if I paid on installation, about $600 more if over time). They installed the new boiler the next day, and then the furnace two weeks later, also in just one day. The men could not have been more polite and helpful, careful not to let my cat escape, and cleaned up well afterwards. I have been dealing with this company for over twenty years, and am totally satisfied with their work. I would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing and heating, as an honest and hardworking company who does a good, personalized job. I have seen many of their workmen when they've checked my furnace and AC over the years, and they clearly enjoy working for this company. One even came back to work for them after he had tried another company.

Horrible Company. Installed a commercial boiler $45,000 (yup thats right 45k) that didn't work from day one. Than stated we needed a pump and sensor. Replaced both another $5,000. Still does not work. Send out their technician (young kid) who obviously has no idea what he is looking at as he spent the whole time on the phone with his boss and taking pictures. DO NOT PURCHASE THE SERVICE PLAN - they do not honor it. They came out once to start the boiler for the season and told us it would cost an additional $1400.00 to replace parts on a boiler they installed the year prior! Service is horrible, attitudes horrible and do not honor any warranties or guaranties. BUYER BEWARE. We had to contract another company to fix the bad installation.

We are owners of commercial real estate in Baltimore Maryland. It was your company. We own real estate all over the world and have never had such horrible service that your company provided.

At this point, I can't see bothering with quotes from other plumbers. We have had AJ Michaels in my home for three jobs, and all three were done with courtesy, professionalism, and accuracy...and the price for each job was reasonable. The most recent job involved Corey and Jack, and I'm to the point of requesting them for anything we do in the future.

Go with AJ Michaels. You won't be sorry.

Great people to deal with from the office to the sales team to the service techs. If needed I will use them again. Quick response and got my needs taken care of fast.

I think if they had charged less money, I wouldn't have been so annoyed with the low quality of the work and cheap materials. We paid about 13k for a bathroom remodel. They gutted and redid the bathroom about 5 years ago.

Pros: Great job on the green board walls. The electric is all wonderful as is the plumbing, which are the major points. They did come out and fix the wood in the window (mentioned below) so I appreciate that a lot

Cons: I wanted a recessed medicine cabinet. They did not inform me that this would make it lopsided from the counter top. It just doesn't look right. But I can live with that. They used WOOD TRIM on the window in the shower (#oldhouseproblems) I am not a contractor, but I have many friends and family in other areas who are. You don't use wood in the shower. It started warping. I appreciate that they replaced it with plastic but why would you use wood in the first place? The tiles on the floor were not installed well. If tiles are not firmly installed into the grout/glue/stuff, they will crack easily. Tile is supposed to be super durable. We don't drop tons of heavy things in our bathroom. We walk on it. We've probably dropped a shampoo bottle or a hair brush. There is no reason that the tile should have as many hairline cracks as it does. Now we have a dent in our tub. I'm not even sure how that can happen unless you use the cheapest tub possible.

tl;dr: They cut corners or just didn't do it right for other things, and charged a lot. I definitely can't recommend them.

EDIT: I was not aware of their warranty. It is good for 10 years. After contacting me via my review, they came out and replaced the tile with sheet vinyl at my request. They replaced the splitting vanity as well as added quarter round on the perimeter of the room. They said the dented tub was not their fault.

I still can't give them 5 stars, but I am much happier with the work and I think it will be a lot more durable. The carpenter that came out this time seemed a lot more experienced and knowledgeable than the one that came out the first time. I am adjusting my review to 3 stars because I'm I'm still frustrated that we had to go thru all this, I am happy that they stood by their work and made it right.

My boiler died and although it's a busy season for this work A.J. Michaels was prompt about the repair, showed up on time, and the technician even made extra trips to help me decipher a new thermostat and resolve a problem with the on-loan space heaters. The company also did my central air system (in a 100 year old house) over a decade ago and I've yet to have a problem with it. The office support staff is sympathetic and answers calls promptly and with meaningful information and updates.

My husband and I called them out to install a water heater that went fine also to fix a pipe that was dripping in my kitchen almost a a year later we had to call them back because water was dripping under my new cabinet, they came back out, thinking it was repaired it's now dripping again and they won't come back out without another payment called another plumbing company they showed us the stripped materials and they never secured the pipe so the water leaked from under the sink spent lots of money with this company wouldn't recommend them to my worse enemy, Customer service was horrible and nasty wouldn't listen , we ask to speak to a manager just because you answer the phone doesn't make you and expert on repairs . This was the 3rd time this has happened. Apparently not fixing properly??

Dealing with A J Michaels was as good as it can be. The were courteous, efficient, timely, professional and to my observations, did an excellent job. And, it was for less money than I had expected.

Work performed was to reconfigure and replace the ductwork for AC unit which was promptly completed. We can notice the difference in the cooling of the home. We feel the work will save $$$ in electric bills and make the AC unit run more efficient. Which we had done it long time ago!!!!

Had a pipe burst in my house a year ago and called AJ Michaels to come out to give me an estimate to replace the ruptured pipes. The guy that came out was polite but wanted to charge me almost three times the rate of another local plumber. Stay clear away from this company. These guys are crooks and give honest plumbers a bad name.

My 32 year-old air conditioner failed in early August during 90 degree heat. I received a quote from another company that seemed inflated with a promise to beat any competitor's price by $100.

By contrast, A.J. Michaels gave me what seemed to be a fair/competitive quote up front. In addition, they offered 3 loaner room air conditioners for our use (so that my kids and I could at least be comfortable in our bedrooms until the central AC was restored; with installation scheduled about 10 days later). The A. J. Michaels crew both installed and removed the room air conditioners so that I didn't have to lug them around myself.

The A.J. Michaels crew confirmed their arrival ahead of time, arrived promptly on time each day (a two day installation) and were courteous and hard working (they seemed to work diligently without breaks, at least whenever I saw them). They finished the job ahead of the time they said they would and they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. They reviewed the use of the new HVAC system with me, explained the maintenance schedule (how to change the filter, etc.) and assured me that I should call them without hesitation if I have any questions or concerns.

The new HVAC system works quietly and very well and I am very pleased with the job A.J. Michaels did, I appreciated the loaner AC units and I feel like I had the work done at a fair price. Over-all, I'm very pleased. As a footnote; the estimator told me a story of how well he has been treated as an employee of the company. It's nice to hear that a family-owned business (or any business) has great corporate culture and cares about it's workers.

This company was incredibly responsive to my request for a quote to replace my oil-fired boiler with one fueled by natural gas. I received timely, professional and quality service in doing so. Will use them again, when needed.

AJ Michaels transitioned our boiler from oil to natural gas. They were on-time, informative, courteous, and completed the work in the expected window. Not only was the work professional but they went above and beyond to finish all the workspaces. They coordinated the new boiler delivery and city inspection as well. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

We were very pleased with A.J. Michaels work replacing our old boiler. Everyone I dealt with was courteous and efficient and careful to explain the process. They scheduled us promptly and completed the work in the time promised. When the model on which they gave the original quote turned out to be back ordered, they substituted a more expensive unit at the same price (with our prior approval). Ours was a messy job and they were careful to clean up and avoid tracking dirt through the house. The new boiler is working great and we are ready for winter. I would use A.J. Michaels again and I give them very high marks.

Basically they came out to my rental property to fix a leaking toilet and snake some backed up drains - $500 later the drains were clear, but now that they have been out three times for the toilet issue and it is still not resolved, I was then told it would cost $425 for them to send a scope down the same toilet which was snaked a few weeks ago to really figure out what was the issue - not planning on calling them back

I use AJ Michaels for all my HVAC. I recently had a Mitsubishi combo heater/AC unit put on my three season porch to make it useable all year. The entire experience was exactly what I’ve come to know and expect from AJ Michaels - professional, prompt, done right, and done well. I have the maintenance plan for spring and fall on my main HVAC systems (both installed by AJ Michaels) and can’t say enough good things about it. I won’t use any other company - this is who I trust and who I’ll always go to.

Throughout the bidding process, A.J .Michaels continued to refine and recalculate their solution to fit our needs. We ended up deciding to make a complete transition from oil-fired heat and water to gas. Their work was all done well, on-time and on-budget. Great product, out standing service

This is the second time that we had A.J. Michaels work to replace our boiler and we LOVED their service and we are VERY happy with the results. We would sure recommend them to everyone!

I called a couple of places before choosing AJM and I’m glad I went with them. The work was professional, fast, and I am very pleased with their work. They put together a system to address my specific house (the system I replaced was mismatched for this house). Even though the heating system that I replaced was still working, I have noticed a remarkable difference in the operation of the new system as opposed to the operation of the heating system that was replaced. I would definitely recommend them to address your HVAC needs.

The installers took the time to lay down paper in the hall way so they would not get anything dirty when they were moving in and out of the house. The technician, Kyle was wonderful. He knew just what the issue was and provided us reassurance that the project would be done properly. He took extra time to show us the existing setup in the attic before they started work and after they finished the work. They stayed to let the system run for at least 20 minutes to make sure it was functioning properly, while checking things in the outside unit. They were professional an patient. Kyle answered all of our questions. AJ Michael's sent over window units while getting the work scheduled. Would recommend AJ Michael's for all your heating/AC work.

Great honest service. Reasonable prices. They did a somewhat complicated installation for me in an old 1840s baltimore row home. Removed old system from roof, ran all new lines outside in protective conduit, work all looks great, everything was left clean. Helped me save money by letting me know I did not have to replace heat and cooling, just cooling portion. Took the time to talk through options, discuss efficiency, etc... when I thought there was an issue I had to put in a call late on a friday night and the guy actually answered his phone and was following up. Kind of amazing. (ended up being tenant issue with breaker off)

We use these guys regularly for our AC/heating maintenance. So when our water heater went out this morning we gave them a call. Not only did they make it over a full 2 hours before they were originally estimated to come out, but they're installing a brand new water heater for us as we speak. Can't give them enough compliments -- they're great! And $1800 for a last minute water heater install ain't bad either. We will continue to use them as long as we live in the Baltimore area.

We have been customers of AJMichaels for over 20 years and have always been very happy with the service we have received. AJMicaels are always very responsive and go out of their way to help with any problem we may be having. We needed our furnace replaced and it took longer than usual to get all necessary components (due to production and shipping slow downs associated with Covid) and they provided us with several portable heaters. They also kept me in the loop as to when the work would start. They were able to start on the date they promised.They cleaned up after installing the new furnace (it looked better than before they started!). I highly recommend!

My furnace wasn't working properly this winter. It's newer, installed in 2011 as part of a large renovation. It worked or I assumed it worked. Obviously, this year has been colder than the last couple. It became really apparent that the heat probably never worked right. I searched endlessly online to figure out the issue. I had one repair company come out and take a look. The guy tinkered and cussed, but left without solving the problem. A.J. Michaels was referred by the manufacturer. They were able to set up an appointment within a couple days (shocking.) The technician diagnosed the problem immediately (a pipe that wasn't installed properly,) gave me direction on how to fix it and then ensured there weren't any additional issues. I made the fix and everything is running perfectly. Great experience. A huge load off my mind. Couldn't be more happy... and warm.

I have don’t have many good things to say about this company. My first interaction with them went well enough. They installed a heating and air conditioning system in my house in 2017. At the time it was a pleasant experience. They did a good job – clean and professional and the price was Ok. So it was an obvious choice to call them for help when my gas furnace started blowing cold air 2 weeks ago. My contract with them also states Includes a full 10 year parts and 10 year labor warranty.

The problem with my furnace was as follows: It was blowing cold air and flashing code 13 “LIMIT CIRCUIT LOCKOUT”. After turning off the power, waiting and then switching the power back it appears to work fine for a few hours or even a day, but goes into “lockout” again, restarting the problem. Going through this once I thought that it was just a fluke and canceled my first appointment with AJ Michaels just to find out that the furnace started blowing cold air an hour later. I called again and an AJ Michaels technician came the same day at noon. He spent about 20 min working on the furnace, said it is fixed and left. I paid 305$ for this visit. Later the same day the furnace starts blowing cold air again and flashing code 13 “LIMIT CIRCUIT LOCKOUT” like the day before.

I called AJ Michaels to find out what exactly was done for 305$, ask about warranty and schedule a follow-up appointment. The lady on the phone said:

1) The system was checked,

2) The tripped flame rollout switch was reset

3) The BLOWN control board FUSE WAS REPLACED

She also said someone was poking around and shortcut the system and the blown fuse is evidence of it, so WARRANTY VOID.
Logically I had a question HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO RESTART A FURNACE WITH A BLOWN FUSE?

All my attempts to get answers from the company by email or phone call had failed. After 3 day going back and forward with emails and calls I decided to cancel my upcoming appointment (I was put on a waiting list for a week) with them and seek the help of another contractor.

It would be fine by me if the warranty was voided because I didn’t have yearly maintenance with AJ Michaels. But fabrication the blown control board fuse was too much…

The issue was fixed by another contractor in 5 min for 60$. I was relieved and angry at the same time. It was combination of a clogged air filter and damper was at almost 70% closed which caused the furnace to overheat and shut down on a limit control.

I would not recommend AJ Michael for service or repairs.

Probably saved my life. I bought a house that was 2 apartments and had a general contractor convert back to a single family home, including combining 2 gas meters into one. Contractor did such a bad job - it was dangerous and illegal. I would never have known unless I had called AJ Michaels for an unrelated issue. Paul noticed the issue immediately and they fixed it so it is now safe an legal. Very helpful and professional.

Technician literally listened to what the problem was and told me I didn't need a tech, I needed a sales person to install new ducts. He was here for 10 minutes and never took out a tool and the company charged me $199.

Replacing one's Central AC from afar is not ideal. The staff of A.J. Michaels accommodated the complexity of the situation and installed a new unit with minimal disruption. We are very satisfied with their service.

This past summer my ancient AC unit in the basement needed servicing. The staff was very professional, efficient and the unit is working great now. Showed up on time for starters so that was a pleasant surprise as some vendors don't. Very good value at a great price. The repair guy even gave me some great tips for maintaining the outside unit as well as the unit in the basement. Highly recommended company.

My boiler and central air went out, so I assumed it was my thermostat. I changed the batteries and they still would not turn on. I called AJ Michaels who sent out a technician. He briefly acknowledged that the thermostat was functioning, but didn't look at it closely. He assessed a $1,600 boiler repair. I told him there was possibly an electrical issue with the AC unit because there had been a spark in close proximity to it. He was at the house close to three hours, cut into my wall to get to the unit and take it apart and still could find nothing wrong with it. After fixing nothing and cutting a big hole in my wall, he charged me $375 for his time and recommended an electrician and boiler repair. Days later I found out the spark had nothing to do with the AC and my boiler was fine. The batteries I had put into the thermostat were old, and all I needed was new batteries in my thermostat. This I figured out by myself. I felt stupid for not realizing it $375 and a big hole in my wall sooner, but I couldn't believe the technician didn't check this first AND fabricated a boiler repair of a new aquastat I didn't need. They also recommended an AWFUL electrician that did eventually fix the spark, but tried to up sell me like crazy. I will never use this company again.UPDATE: in response to the message they posted (below), I called AJ Michaels, and confirmed it was indeed their company that I worked with and they did find my account. So my review is not based on another company with the word Michael in the title.

22 years ago, AJM retrofitted my 120 year-old house with a modern. two-zone HVAC system. Since then, I faithfully used them (and only them) to maintain and repair the system, notwithstanding some fairly egregious expenses and waits for appointments. About 5 years ago, one of the zones began to fail, and after 3 technicians and $2200 in repair charges, they gave up and told me I had to purchase a new system. Without any sort of credit for $2200 in failed repair expenses, the new system cost over $8000. A couple years after that, when I went to sell my house, my buyer's home inspector provided me photos from my attic (again, only frequented by AJM technicians over 20+ years) that show bottles, cans, HVAC debris and other trash deposited by the true professionals at AJ MIchaels over the years. Then they wonder why I didn't want to work them again on my new house?

A satisfying experience from beginning to end. Got a rapid response to my inquiry to replace a sunroom heat pump/air conditioner. The salesman arrived as scheduled, took measurements, and provided an estimate. I signed the contract and contacted the office to schedule installation. The installers arrived as scheduled, replaced the old unit, and left with a successful install. Smooth operation from beginning to end.

At last! A company that provides excellent work for the homeowner, and has courteous and honest employees as well as fair pricing and timely service. They've done a lot of work for me lately, do small and large jobs, and have detected a dangerous problem in my home that was not in their purview and for which I had to locate another, specialized company who confirmed their observations.

Complicated relationship with this company. I had them install a heating and air conditioning system over 20 years ago. About 5 years ago I had problems and called for service. There was no record of my installation and the lady on the phone made it seem like she did not believe me or it didn’t matter that they installed the unit. Regardless, the service people came out and of course I got a lecture to replace everything, the unit was too old though this was the first problem I had with it. I had several problems in the next two years and the spiel was always the same, we have no record of us having installed your system, we will send someone in two weeks and when the people came out to fix the problem, you need a new system. I finally had enough and now have a BGE Home contract and for the last two years have been very happy. My last inspection the service man said I have a great system that could last another 5 years.

I had them replace a hot water heater in our condo. They were able to install it the next day and everything went very smoothly. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Rescheduled maintenance at the last minute 3 times after 4-week lead time each time service was rescheduled.

So I had my landlord call in for no heat. The dispatcher wouldn't allow any wiggle room on the schedule being that I work for a living. So I'm trying to get home in time to meet the techs but with all the construction in Baltimore, I got caught up in traffic. The dispatcher didn't care & rescheduled & now I have no heat for another two days.

I've used AJ Michaels twice, once for minor boiler update and most recently for ductless heatpump (mini spilt) installation. This was a fairly big job, 4 days, and the workers were very professional and thorough. Seems to me they did a top notch job. I'd definitely go to AJ Michaels again.

Disgusted in the unethical performance. They did not Even attempt to fix the issue in 100 degree weather. They estimated $7,500 on a new system that should only cost $5,000. I called another company who fixed the issue in half an hour for $150. Horrible experience.

Our hot water heater decided to stop working on Thanksgiving Day. The next morning, AJ Michaels was at our house, but told us since it was a holiday weekend, we probably would not get a new heater until the following week. They saw that I had dishes from a huge feast that needed washing and a house filled with people who needed showers. Wasn't I surprised when their truck was in our driveway two hours later with a new heater! Technically, they were closing at noon, but two men worked late to help us out. THANK YOU!

I could not be happier with the services provided by A.J. Michaels with an install of a dual zone HVAC system (Carrier) including insulation and sealant to make my home more energy efficient.

My energy bills are 53% lower than last winter and my smart system is cleaner and much quieter than before the install.

The crew who did the work respected my home as if it was their own. They prepped areas for work and cleaned up afterwards making the areas look as if they weren't even here.

My wife and I are originally from Baltimore, but had moved away more than a decade ago. Recently, we purchased a second home so that we could spend quality time near our daughter and son-in-law, who are starting a family in the Baltimore area. The home was built in 1930 and it was clear after a few weeks that it was very drafty. This was confirmed after receipt of our first few utility bills, including reports from BGE showing us that our electric bills were as much as 58% higher than all homes in our area and 175% higher than those homes deemed efficient.

Under BGE’s Home Performance Program, we were able to select AJ Michaels as a prime contractor for the needed upgrades. We didn’t hesitate to choose them based on our excellent experience with them in decades past, and we are happy to report that they expertly guided us through selection of various energy upgrades, and performed these projects along with some excellent partner companies. The work included a new A/C compressor and updated air handler, sealing of the A/C ductwork through an incredible technology called Aerosealing, air sealing and insulation of the attic, including cleaning and disinfecting of the attic space (very important to us with my wife’s asthma), encapsulation of our crawl spaces and rim joists, and insulation of the exterior and foundation walls. We are benefiting enormously from this work, and the data shows so far that our electric bills are lower than the efficient homes in the area. We wholeheartedly recommend AJ Michaels.

We had an AJ Michaels Sales Person come out to our Home and review the work that had been done by a competitor that had left our Heat Pump in our Central Air system in poor condition. They recommended a solution and implemented that solution before they said they would do it and did everything I expected and our system is working perfectly. Their Engineers are knowledgable and polite and our home is cool...

Can't rate their quality of work since they never showed up to perform the repair when scheduled. I was given the time slot between 12pm and 4 pm. I called at 3:30pm making sure they would be out like scheduled. Apparently they never actually scheduled me and only put my info in. The customer service lady transferred me to her manager ( or at least who I assume is her manager) who was anything but apologetic about the situation. So I called an other company to perform the repair since AJ Micheals is not reliable and provides poor customer service!

The guys came out quickly and fixed everything. AJM always does a great job and they are very responsive when I call. It’s great to have a plumber I can trust. They also did a great job Keeping their work area clean and wearing masks while they were in the house.

AJ Michaels was responsive and professional. Their pricing is transparent i.e I knew what portion of my bill was for parts, labor, and service fee. Ricky and Antoinio diagnosed and solved the problem quickly. They were also friendly and on time.

The new heat pumps work well, installation looks great. Workers were prompt and efficient. I will certainly use this firm in the future.

HE seemed very friendly - we set up a free estimate appt. I confirmed the time twice the day before. He never showed - and did not even call. What a waste of time.

Waited 4 days to get a quote and they would not itemize the quote. I had to call to ask why I hadn't heard back from them. I think one star is too high of a rating

Our experience contracting AJ Michaels to replace our heating and air conditioning equipment was terrific. We are old fashioned in that we want excellent service and to be treated well at the same time. They delivered on both of these from start to finish. We have an excellent new HVAC system which was fairly priced (compared to competitors) and we were treated respectfully. Well done!

I used AJ Michaels about a decade ago to replace my main furnace but recently realized I need something better for A/C on the 3rd floor in the summer. They just completed the installation of a Mitsubishi mini-split system, 3 separate ones for 3 rooms, and did a great, professional job. It took 9 working days, and it was hard work, but very well done.

I have used them for two major installations. The furnace and a replacement of our HVAC system. In both cases, they did an outstanding job. They were efficient, courteous, and very professional. They are also very competent. I have no hesitation in recommending their services as I am planning on using their services to keep the equipment up, and service it. A.J. Michaels did a great job for me. My townhouse was losing both the ability to cool and warm my 2nd and third stories. Air was escaping from the original ducts. A.J Michaels re-sealed all of the ducts and the improvement was immediate. It was so nice not to hear anyone complain about how hot it was, even on my third story. They were prompt, professional and neat. Great company.

Wow! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the extraordinary service and workmanship of the AJ Michaels team. From start to finish, every aspect was great! We live in an older home. The AC unit was mounted on the roof and the vibrations were incredibly noisy. They came out and moved the unit, repaired our system, and now we are soooo happy. We don’t hear the AC at all. They stuck to their estimate both price and time wise. And they took great care to protect our floors and clean up after they left. Fabulous!!!

I bid this project to 4 separate contractors all were given the same instructions. A J Michaels was the low bidder and well exceeded my my expectations. They treated my house as if it was theirs, the mechanic and helper {Mathew and Jacob} were both knowledgeable and thoughtful. The project took 4 days in the middle of winter, they supplied heaters at no cost to keep house warm during installation. They cleaned up every night and the finished piping looked like a work of art [very neat and plumb]. If there were more stars to rate them I would have given them a 10. William B Braid

The old metal pipes in my living room ceiling were leaking. Also, pipes under my second floor shower were leaking. Some pipes in my upstairs bathroom had to be rerouted. My house is about 75 yrs old. A. J. Michaels send plumbers out as well as a carpenter. It was a labor intensive job and they were working in my house for several days. I do not see any more leaks so I assume my plumbing has been fixed. The problem is that when they were finished I had a mess of dust to clean up.

My nice wooden floors were covered with dust and it took me several days to vacuum and mop. I am 76 years old and I just had surgery so not only was this a hardship but my wooden floors still look dusty.

The plumbers did lay some plastic over some of my things and put some paper on my wooden floor. And I moved many items out of the way. But the carpenter was not so careful. The carpenter did some drilling and sanding and I do not think he bothered to cover the floors on the first or second floor in the area he worked in. The paper covering my floor the first day either was moved or after several days got pulled up before the carpenter finished and no other effort was made to cover my floor and that's why there was so much dust.

During the coldest time of the year I was having problems with my heating system, however, I did not have any heat in my house at all. I called several heating companies to come out to look at my gas burner/ boiler. One company informed me I need a piece for my system that would be very costly, I would be better off purchasing a new boiler system. They tried to convince me to purchase a new gas boiler for over $6,000. I called AJ Michaels and they send out the most pleasant, personable, and, professional representative that they could find, Mr. Neil. He worked and worked on my gas unit until he got it back into working order. He also informed me, yes the unit needs that particular piece, but it will cost a little over $1,000.00, and no, he stated I did not need a new gas unit. Once the piece is applied to the unit, it will be good as new!! The $1,000.00 is a far far cry from $6,000. Thank you Mr. Neil and AJ Michaels you have a customer for life.

The technicians were very professional and knowledgeable. They arrived on time and worked diligently to install my new steam boiler. They were responsive to all of my questions.

I had an old furnace from 1942. Paul gave me an excellent quote that was lower than all other companies. I converted from oil heat to gas. The service were well coordinated from a Asbestos removal, removal of furnace, oil tank, placement of unit and chimney liner. Michael and his crew complied with covid precautions. They were on time, friendly and professional. They cleaned and gave me details on how to use my new unit. The experience was great especially considering that it was such a huge job. I’m a happy camper.

If you don't mind an annual heat wave AC outage in the sweltering concrete jungle of Baltimore, these are your HVAC professionals. Also, the telephone operator dispatchers are friendly and seem to genuinely care about whatever AC difficulties you might be having. The technicians that arrive to your home, however, leave much to be desired. I inquired of the gentleman who diagnosed my AC compressor as being shot what I can do in the future to prevent a future compressor from suffering the same fate. His response: leave it to the professionals. Mind you, these would be the same professionals that installed the ill-fated initial compressor less than 3 years prior. Now, I might not be a professional, but I'm pretty sure compressors should last more than 3 years.

We replaced our heat pump and made the house more environmentally sound. This was an excellent experience throughout, from planning through execution and, ultimately, cost substantially less than anticipated.

This is my first ever review. I felt I had to write a few words on how much of a positive experience I had with A.J Michaels. From the time I started calling around to different companies, when I contacted A.J Michaels the Customer Service rep was knowledgeable and very kind (actually pleasant to talk to), the lady turned me on to the salesman Paul M. Paul was great, with 30+ years in the business, he was very experienced and upfront about everything. Paul wasn't pushy or overbearing. Than we move on to the installers, Rick & Ricky. They were totally awesome, kind, experienced, timely and walked us through exactly what they would be working on daily. Overall I can't speak more highly of a company.

Our second good experience with A. J. Michaels for a major installation. This was for a hot water heater, and the rep talked me through a number of available options and responded promptly to my follow-up questions about hybrid units. He offered a good price on good equipment, and the installation was expert and on-time.

I tried to have AJ tune a new boiler and they said no problem we do this all the time.
Then they never kept there appointment and showed up an hour outside the appointment window.
Then tech said he would not do the work because he did not do the install of the new boiler.
It clearly states how to tune the boiler in manual and states it needs to be done and checked annually.
But Ed at AJ said he will not do it because of liability reasons.

What a joke these people are the most incompetent heating and cooling company I have ever tried to work with.

I will stay clear from them forever.

We had a sewer line that was not installed correctly by the builder; the technicians who diagnosed and repaired the sewer line did it within a limited amount of working space (crawl space) and completed the job in less than 3 hours; my wife and I were delighted with their professionalism and attention to detail.

This is my second time using AJ Michaels and both experiences have been really great. The plumbers showed up on time, scheduling was easy, the job was done right. They will continue to be my go-to plumbers. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Quality of work is superior

We have had A. J. Michaels replace both our hot water heater and our furnace/air conditioning system. Both jobs were completed on time by professional people. The jobs were exactly as quoted, and the installers were the best!! I would highly recommend this company and will definitely call them again!

We used AJ Michaels maybe 9 years ago to replace out AC/Heating Unit. They id a great job. This year, we used them to install a Mitsubishi split in our Master Bedroom. They were professional, affordable, polite, timely, pretty much everything you could ask for. We'll use them again if a project comes up.

Corey and his team came and installed a new heat pump for me. They did an excellent job and answered my questions. Because they came with three man team they were able to do the job in one day. Jason the salesman did a great job in making sure I got the appropriate system for home. I would recommend Jason and Corey for your HVAC needs.

We used A J Michaels to repair our gas fired boiler system and now used them to replace our rooftop ac unit. They were very professional, on-time and courteous. Their work has been excellent.

Upon arriving in Baltimore, after being away for two months, we could not get the pilot on our water heater lighted. Upon calling AJ Michaels, a tech was immediately dispatched (despite it being late afternoon), and found our older appliance on its last legs. Rather than try a repair with after market parts, he recommended replacement at a reasonable cost. We accepted, and the job was completed by 1:30 pm the next day. Very clean. No water on the floor. Very professionally done. That’s why AJ Michaels has been our HVAC/plumbing contractor of choice for the past 12 years.

So impressed with my overall experience having a new HVAC system installed (converting from electric to gas as well) that days later when my 3.5 year old HWH started leaking and I found out the plumber who installed it had a disconnected phone, I called AJ Michaels and was so thankful that they not only serviced that type of HWH, but they sent someone out the same day. They are now on speed dial and my go-to for all things HVAC and plumbing!

I set up an appointment with AJ Michaels over a week ago for 2pm or later on Friday. I called the office on the morning of the appointment to confirm that they will need to come after 2 pm as i was not home before that time. They confirmed and assured me that they would show call and show up after 2pm. I receive a call from AJ M. at 12:15 that I missed. I called them back at 12: 32 and was told by M that they have decided not to show up today because i missed their call. While trying to explain the situation to M i was transferred mid sentence to the dispatcher and got disconnected without the dispatcher answering. I called back and explained to M that this was extremely unprofessional and that I didn't think i would want them to come and fix the issue with my HVAC. She did not seem to care. Judging from this interaction, I think i got lucky and dodged a bullet here. Zero on Customer service.

A.J. Michaels has become our go-to plumbing company, so we have used them for all kinds of things -- shower plumbing replacement, sewer replacement, water heater, drain cleaning, boiler checks. They really know what they are doing, and they are supremely professional. Increasingly I believe you get what you pay for, and these folks really deliver the goods.

We contacted A.J. Michaels when our water heater was leaking. They were able to send an estimator out within a couple of hours to give us a free estimate and he gave us a price on the spot to replace it. This was our third estimate--including one from our home warranty company--and it was by far the highest quality product as well as the most competitive price. We had an A.O. Smith heater (the same brand as the one they were replacing that had lasted over 25 years) installed that same day and the two gentlemen who came to install it were efficient, courteous, and careful. They covered our white carpet, covered nearby sprinkler heads, and completed the job in under three hours. After they finished, they took the time to answer our questions and explain how our new water heater works, which I really appreciated. I HIGHLY recommend A.J. Michaels and can say they will be the first call I make the next time we have any issues!
