SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! This company is FRAUDULENT. I placed a call to them because my furnace wasn’t working properly, not broken but it simply wasn’t staying on long enough to heat my home properly (cut on/off after 3seconds). Two technicians came out, turned my furnace off and the technicians pretended to take pictures to “look for the problem”. They never turned the furnace back on to see what I had described. After taking pictures for 35minutes, they told me that because my furnace was 19 years old, I needed to purchase a new one. They said there’s a small crack that can “potentially” become dangerous and separation that could “potentially” cost lots of money. They asked if I had a husband or spouse that could help me with the cost of a new system and when I said no, they immediately contacted the company to forcefully set up a consultation for me to speak with someone about financing a entire new furnace. They gave me an estimate of $20,000. I kid you not, $20K for a FREAKIN furnace that wasn’t broken but simply not performing properly. They left my home and still never turned my furnace back on. At this time, my home was 66 degrees and I have two children here. They charged me $104 just for that visit WHICH THEY DID NOTHING. After crying my eyes out about the stress of possibly having to pay $20K, I decided to go on YouTube and see if I could figure it out on my own. I came across a video that said to try wiping off the burner sensor, so I did, and guess what IT FREAKIN WORKED! I was scammed out of $104 and bullied into consulting about a new system. I’m definitely going to contact the BBB regarding this company. Safe to say, thanks to me, my children and I are warm and safe for another night. To all single, unmarried women, please be cautious with companies like this because they pray on us in hopes to scare us into purchasing/financing really expensive equipment instead of actually helping us. I pray that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Oh, and if they try to lie about anything in this review, I recorded the entire interactions. WORD FOR WORD!

The whole team worked so well together to install a new furnace for me. This is an investment for my house that provided the crew with work when everyone is a little on edge about the pandemic and it is one less worry for me. Their confidence in the product and backing everything with a 10 year warranty gave me the confidence that I made the right decision.
Horizion was very timely in arriving, diagnosing the problem and performing the work needed Technician Robert was very direct and honest about what needed to be done and what the costs were. Scheduling staff arr great and very flexible too! I will use Horizon again for any future home plumbing issues.
Apologies for the delay, as I realized I didn't leave a review when I swapped out my air filter! Nate was great - awesome service, answered all questions, super satisfied!

Service was good and professional for HVAC. However, they greatly over charge for parts off the truck. My compressor required a new capacitor 40/5uf 440V AC 50/60Hz. I was charged $421 for a $20 part. Afterwards, I bought 3 capacitors on Amazon for $68 total! So when that part goes out on my second compressor I will have parts on hand for future use instead of having to buy a $400 markup on their capacitor part in the truck. Recommend all home owners keep extra AC compressors on hand for that reason.Several days after this review was posted, I was contacted by a Horizon manager regarding this post. I was given a refund in the form of discounts amounting to $259.00, because I complained online about their exorbitant price for a $20 capacitor. When I asked the manager about their regular charge for HVAC capacitors, she confirmed that $421 is Horizon Services standard price for a capacitor and asked me to update this post with the discounts received.
Horizon was amazing and came out with an hour of me calling. Matt was extremely knowledgable and friendly. I’m so thankful he was able to fix my unit and I can sleep in the AC tonight!
The catastrophe of heat not working properly, what an ordeal! The service I received a few weeks ago from Horizon was far above my expectations Our Technician Sean(sp?), was quickly able to identify the problem with ease. The company has upfront pricing, which is much needed with all repairs. So kudos to Sean and the team at Horizon....

Summer check up om my air conditioner. The technician was very knowledgeable, explained everything he did and had me look at what he was doing and why.Very polite, well dressed, clean smelling and had a good sense of humor.He power washed the system. My HVAC Humidifier was leaking and I contacted Horizon Services based on their online reviews. The day before my appointment they contacted me to confirm the appointment and then called me just prior to the Technician arriving. Just before the HVAC Technician arrived, I was able to resolve the issue. Daniel Novak was the HVAC Technician and he was extremely professional. I explained that I was able to fix the issue and he offered to check everything to make sure there we no other issues. He also provided tips and insights to keep my HVAC and humidifier working properly. Dan Novak was great and I would definitely recommend Dan and Horizon Services. Because of my experience with Dan Novak, Horizon Services has a customer for life and I will be calling to request Dan for any future HVAC needs.

We have had a terrible experience with Horizon. I waited to post this in the hopes that our issues would be resolved by now. People make mistakes and I will always give someone the opportunity to correct it, but it's been over a month now. Our heat would not turn on back in early November. They sent a brand new inexperienced tech to look at our system. That did not go well. After a 2nd tech came out, they determined we would need a new boiler. They got to our house at 7AM for install. At 11PM they still were not finished and I needed to get up for work the next morning, so we asked them to please wrap up and leave - just make sure we at least have hot water in the morning. The heat was only working on 2 out of 3 floors in our house when they left. No one called to follow up or send someone back out to double check everything. They left a mess in our basement. Melted metal pieces and spilled oil stains all over the carpet. My basement currently still wreaks of oil and this is where I do my laundry. We called the office several times and they kept saying someone would call us back. We reached out to our sales rep who answered immediately. We sent him the pictures of the carpet in our basement. We finally heard back from a customer service rep. They sent a tech back out to get the heat working properly on all floors. The customer service rep said he hadn't received the pictures from our sales rep and asked us to send them to him. Annoying that they don't communicate with one another, but fine, we sent the pictures again. He said he would schedule a contractor to come out and replace the carpet in the basement. Which is great, but also a huge inconvenience since we'll have to move everything out of our basemenet in order for the carpet to be replaced. Nothing else was offered to us after everything we've experienced. My husband sent several emails following up on the carpet replacement but no response. A random person from the office called us today and said they have been trying to reach us. We have received no emails or phone calls/voicemails until today. Overall extremely poor communication and customer service. I hope they will be able to resolve this for us soon.

I called Horizon Serviced because I wanted to get a quote to replace the toilets. Brandon was the plumber who came out and he was kind, courteous, professional, walked me through everything and answered all of my questions. I would definitely like Brandon to come back to replace the remaining two toilets in my house when the time comes!Brandon gets 5 stars, but I put only a 4 overall because they're a bit on the pricey side, however, I know plumbing in general is expensive (I had a bit of a sticker shot when I saw the cost yesterday!). I will still be using them again!

I am very pleased with the services and technical educations that I received from Mr. Carl Robinson, the Horizon technician. He serviced and helped me to learn about the AC, Heater and the dehumidifier. He made a list of the future possible problems and prioritized these problems in order to know and get ready for them that, I am grateful for that. I am looking forward to seeing him for the future services.
I filled out a request to have someone look at our outdated, inefficient heating system and they sent an AC repair tech who was there to do a job we didn't ask for and had the worst attitude. They then tried to charge me for their mistake and the best part is, I still didn't get an answer about my heating system.
AC out for 2 weeks (90 degree heat) while i was waiting for another company to come. Other company (i usually use) told me they could not come out till 7/14! Saw Horizon trucks in the neighborhood and decided to call and see if they could come sooner. They came out the next day! Joshua was able to diagnose the problem right away and replaced the worn out part. AC working great now. Will be using Horizon Services from now on.

The service tech came said he would do everything that we needed he fixed the leaking faucets we had all except the bathtub faucet. He couldn't get the faucet off to fix the drip told us he would be back to fix haven't heard from him. The fixture in the tub is now losing its finish my husband sent a picture to horizon still haven't heard from them Horizon contacted us today and r coming Wednesday to fix the problem I will keep u posted they came and replaced the tub drain

Very disappointed with the company. Came to my home to fix a problem... 48 hours later problem hasn't been fixed, therefore still no heat.Called first thing in the am to have the problem remedied and they're telling me to wait a minimum of 24 hours to have a technician to come check the issue.It's 10 degrees outside - Absolutely unacceptable service for a customer.If a company is supposed to provide emergency services, then they shouldn't expect you to wait 24 hours when the weather is below freezing. If they are unable to provide a service that they promise, then they should refer you to another company - try to accommodate the customer in an emergency situation. Not have Crystal, the scheduler, tell me on the phone that anyone who calls in today, whether they have heat or not, will have to wait until tomorrow for service. WHAT?!?!? You're a heating repair company.... why am I, or anyone else, waiting until tomorrow.If I were able to give ZERO stars, I would. Go with another company, don't waste your time and money with Horizon.

Great experience all around. I had a full replacement of my heat pump and blower. They were quick with scheduling and explained the entire process before they started. Technicians were very professional and knowledgeable. They did an excellent job.

I must say that the service technician (Larry ?) did an amazing job not only reconfiguring my Nest thermostat to the heat mode, but he also made it possible that the AC mode worked as well!! Our technician (Shawn) was professional, prompt & communicated clearly what the issue was and the options to resolve it. Once we committed to getting the work done he completed it thoroughly. If we ever needed service again I'd definitely request him specifically.
I have had a service contract with Horizon for the past couple years and they have never failed me. Today a young tech named Bacary came to tune up my a/c system and this guy was awesome! I'm 72 and have had a couple a/c tune ups -but none more thorough than today. He was polite, professional and extremely tidy, clean-cut and very knowledgeable. He explained to me every procedure and answered all my questions. Most impressive is how he spoke so highly of Horizon and stated he was proud to represent such a good company. Not many young people feel that way, today. That speaks volumes for Horizon!

Horizon Services (Baltimore) gave us an estimated time of arrival and they were there within the time frame promised. Our service tech Daryl was very friendly and professional. It turned out that our issue isn’t something Horizon handles, but Daryl took the time to explain what we needed to help us understand how to proceed from here. Will definitely call Horizon Services again for future needs.
I wish google come up with -ve stars for businesses like this!After 5-6 visits by Horizon’s different techs recommend different troubleshooting which cost me almost about $1500 (including replacing roll out switch) and my google nest thermostat has the same error message, ‘no power to R’These techs do not know anything about dampers (one tech told me, I heard it for the first time) & they cannot rectify the problem with my HVAC tripping rollout switch.They could not figure out why my HVAC is overheating and tripping the rollout switch!Now, I requested to talk to the manager when I call and I never received a call from the manager named Carl!! I had a few conversations with their help desk and asked them to have their manager call me back, NO RESPONSE!!!I think they DO NOT care about the trouble you are going through and just care about money!! WORST SERVICE EVER

Just used Horizon today! Tyrone and his crew were fantastic! Very professional; ensured he went over everything and answered all questions; very kind! Was able to get my HVAC problem diagnosed and fully solved in a matter of 3 business days which took a lot of worry off my plate! Would highly recommend Horizon; the entire team from start-to-finish showed a lot of care and professionalism!
I will never use horizon again. They wanted to charge me 400.00 dollars for a 30.00 part. Plus the 98.00 for coming out. Once I spoke with the technician about the outrageous cost for the part, he asked what I thought I should be paying. As I told him I have no problem paying but it should be a fair and honest price.My bill went from $500.00 to 200.00. How many more people are they ripping off?
Friendly, Courteous and knowledgeable technician came and did the repair in a timely manner. He also came already had the part in his vehicle.

I am in the process of a first floor remodeling project where all the internal walls were removed or cut back, the plumbing in the walls, ice box water line and gas line needed to moved. Kevin G. was the guy for the job. He used his experience to relocate the sink, dishwasher to the island, moved plumbing, gas and ice box water line. It was a tough job, but Kevin G. got it done in a timely manner. He was polite, pleasant and always had a smile on face. His many work areas were always kept clean. I would definitely use Horizon on future projects because of Kevin.

I called and asked to have a dishwasher installed. I was told they could not give me an estimate over the phone. It would cost $89 for the technician to come out to give me an estimate for the work. I agreed. The technician looked at the job (remove the old dishwasher and install the new dishwasher. He did not have to haul the old one away.) He said he would have to call his office for a quote. When he returned he said the install for the new dishwasher would be fourteen fifty. I asked did he mean one thousand four hundred fifty. He said yes. Then he explained that it would cost $500 to remove the old dishwasher. I had no words to respond. Finally I asked, It will cost $1900 to take out the old and put in the new dishwasher. He said yes. I declined the offer. I suspect that was the goal all along. Instead of Horizon declining the job, they priced it so outrageously that no one would accept it. And they still get their $89. So I spent $89 to be told it would cost $1900 to make the dishwasher swap. Other plumbers told me upfront that they don't do dishwashers which also meant they did not get the $89. I will not ever call them again.
HOMEOWNERS BEWARE. We have had Horizon come out twice to check our HVAC system, and both times the appointment ended with the technicians convincing us we had to replace the entire system. Fortunately, both times we got second opinions: the first time it just needed a top off of the freon, and the leak was not bad enough to warrant a system replacement. They were also going to charge us $250/lb for the refill. The company we got a second opinion from charged us around $100/lb.The second time we had them out was just yesterday as a free maintenance check which came with the service plan we had with them. During that call, the technician told us our compressor was broken and the whole system needed to be replaced. We had not had any issues with the system, but the technician told us it was not worth fixing. A technician from another company came out today for a second opinion and showed us we only needed a new capacitor, which was very reasonably priced.The technicians we have met with have been very friendly but are very definitely salespeople trying to sell you something you don't need. We were told by the first Horizon technician that a full system replacement will be somewhere between $12k and $25k. We were later told by other HVAC companies that that price was outrageously expensive. We will not be using Horizon again, and I recommend you look elsewhere for HVAC services. Horizon's business practices are clearly predatory and looking to make a buck off of people who don't understand these systems. I wouldn't trust them.
I would highly recommend Horizon Services and in particular Robert Whitley. My Water Heater went up today and I am so glad I called Horizon Services. I found Robert professional and very thorough. Thank you Horizon Services and Robert on a job well done!
Mr. Antwarren Snell, the technician you dispatched was very thorough and took the time to explain what he was doing at a high level as he worked. I had asked some fairly technical questions about the HVAC control systems. He did a great job restoring our old unit to service. We have decided to replace the older unit and have moved forward with Horizon for the installation and future service. Mr Snell's high level of professionalism and knowledge was a major factor in our making the decision to go with Horizon.
Andres Hoyos was our service technician on our 5/1 call and he did an excellent job! After replacing the blower motor in our furnace (which was leaking oil) he tested the A/C and discovered the compressor fan motor on the outside unit was not working. After troubleshooting the motor which included replacing the boost capacitor we concluded the motor had failed (it was 12 years old) and needed replacement. He had to order the motor since it was not in stock. He returned on Wednesday 5/6 in the pouring rain to install the new motor. The replacement motor was also defective (spinning at very low rpm) so he had to call Carrier to find us another motor. After they gave him the runaround on the motors availability he drove all the way to Gaithersburg to pick it up. After returning he installed the new motor (once again, in a driving rain) and the repair was complete. He literally went the extra mile for us and treated us like a family member. We are very grateful for his efforts. I hope Horizon realizes what a great technician and person they have working for them. Thank you Andres!

Very over priced. I had a new ring and bolts placed on one toilet and was charged $397 plus the service fee of $49.50 for 30 minutes worth of work. When I asked for an explanation of why it cost so much I was told I was paying for everyone In the company. I would not recommend them or use them again.
Shaun and Chuck were great at what they do. They found the problem asap and got our heat back on rite away. And without costing us a ton of money. Very good service and definitely would recommend to others.

Got this new heating and cooling system put in less than one month ago. I've had nothing but problems. Spent $11,208.00 with this company stating they have been in business for over 40 years. For 4 days straight after installation which took 3 PROFESSIONALS over 11 hours to install, the thermostat would not respond to the temperature I was trying to set it to. Woke up every morning with the temperature being at 57 chilling degrees. So in the summer, I had to put the heat on to bring the temperature up to where the kids and I were not freezing. A technician came out at midnight after 4 days of hell, spent over 2 hours and could not fix the problem, so he shut the system down. The next day another technician came out and said he fixed the problem. We went on vacation and left the system running only to come back home last night and the panel was black. Another technician came out last night, said he couldn't really find a problem and left after about an hour. System was working okay. Woke up this morning only to find a BLACK SCREEN AGAIN, the system had shut off AGAIN. Called the company they told me they couldn't send anyone out to take a look at the system because they were booked. Take a look at the pictures below. Temperature in my house with KIDS, DOGS, FISH, and my daughter's FERRETS 89 HOT DEGREES. HAD fans blowing, window units to try and cool the house DOWn. DISAPPOINTED is not the WORD to describe my DISGUST with HORIZON.
My service technician, Caleb, was outstanding. He arrived to my home on the earlier side of the estimated window I was given for his arrival (and Horizon responded to my home in under a day from from the time I called to schedule an appointment late and in the middle of the week). He listened to my description of the problem (no air conditioning and just warm air coming out of the vents in my home), indicated his hypothesis as to what the issue was, and went through all the steps to identity and mitigate the issue. He was correct in his guess of what the problem was.He was able to identify the issue quickly, explained what would be needed to fix it, and fixed it efficiently, describing the parts required and why it was needed. I failed to perform maintenance on the unit (it is newer) and was so impressed with Caleb and Horizon that I decided to sign up for a service plan. I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Caleb and Horizon!

Kevaughn was truly wonderful. Whenever I have a call like this, I expect the worst and to be upsold on everything, even those things that are not needed. Kevaughn came in, told me the problem, how to solve it, and his recommendations. He left me feeling 100% comfortable in my decision, and I've already recommended Horizon to 3 other people for service.

All the single ladies……AVOID AVOID AVOIDTbis place sent a very unbalanced technician to my house. It was about 9 PM and I was alone with my two young boys. This man had zero emotional regulation and tried to quote me a $3000 repair. When I called my ex-husband to have him talk with this person, the man was rolling his eyes, and literally jumping up and down, and totally annoyed that another man, my question his “expertise” — which was completely exploitative. Worse the company has been completely unresponsive to my calls for a refund which I believe I am due as the “technician” told me nothing I didn’t know and was just trying to upsell me a new furnace. Awful awful place. Avoid unless you have a man around to negotiate with them.

The service tech was at my house at 8 AM on a 92 degree day, after my call for an AC repair the night before. The needed parts were overnighted and I had another 8 AM service visit to install the parts. Andres, the service tech, was professional and efficient, polite and personable. Before he left he cleaned the unit and double checked to make sure everything was in good working order. I was pleased with the service and happy that my AC was fixed and cooling my house again. I will definitely be using Horizon Services in the future.

This company is awesome! They didn't try to sell me services I didn't need like companies I've hired in the past. The technician was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time answering all my concerns.
I called Horizon for an emergency AC repair when BGE failed to keep their appointments after 3 days of trying to get them to come out. The soonest I could get was the following day in the middle of the night, however, they said they would call if they had a cancellation. This morning, they did, so the appt was bumped up to early afternoon. The tech that showed up on time and professional, Carl Robinson, not only diagnosed and fixed the problem right away, but was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered us some optional maintenance benefits that we should look into in the future. From the initial phone call, to dispatch, to Carl, Hoizon Sevices went above and beyond what is expected of customer service these days. The price was more than fair and the work was stellar. I would AND WILL ?? recommend them to anyone needing plumbing, heating or AC work. Thank you Carl and Horizon Services!

Came to my house to inspect AC for issues. Charged about $90to come out and tell me I had a broken compressor and quoted me around $4000 to fix. Had another AC company come to get a second opinion and turns out it was a broken capacitor which they fixed for about $260. Basically paid around $90 to get lied to. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Purchased a new furnace from Horizon, installed late October. The installers were absolutely fantastic, and are the only reason I am giving more than one star - they deserve the credit.Now, for the negative experience. Our salesperson convinced us to go with a built-in humidifier, for an additional cost. That was fine, but while it shows on our receipt, it was not provided on the work order, and obviously, not installed. I called about it, was told they would send out an email to investigate, and it might take a few days. Fast forward 3 weeks later, and I heard nothing. I followed up, was told that they’d send out an email (again.), and here we are, 36 hours later, and no follow up. I guess I’m out several hundred dollars.Also, a cautionary tale: Certain financing options will land you a line of credit. When applying for the credit, our salesperson must have entered our income as monthly instead of annually (confirmed after checking our new credit line account), which meant we were only approved for a lower amount (the exact purchase price of the furnace). Sadly, the credit line company also charges a fee, which put us over the limit right off the bat, before our first bill. Because of this, we were assessed an over-limit fee from the credit line. Make sure you ask your salesperson to physically see the screen of the credit application while they enter your information, and confirm it before they submit it. It will save you quite a bit of money.I’ll be doing my a/c next, and due to my experience, will look elsewhere. Readers, I suggest you do the same.Confirmation: Steve Andrew 21206

Have had previous positive experience with Horizon Services on older equipment at my farm. Sign up for GOLD service with them in my new home. Furnace went out and tech came out and properly diagnosed pressure switch issue.They quoted me over $400 for the switch part and $145 labor. Just had it fixed by local licensed company for $177.00 parts and laborDO NOT USE this company. This was ridiculous and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Price gouging by definition.I hope this post helps others from being taken advantage of.
We were forced to use Horizon as a condition of the purchase of our house, which needed both the furnace and air conditioner replaced. I had received multiple bids anyway, and Horizon was by far the highest. They lied in writing about the efficiency of the air conditioner, and did not tell me until after it was paid for and installed. I had filled out the rebate forms for Horizon and sent them to them ahead of time after they had told me the rebates hadn't been published yet for this year, which was demonstrably false. Right after the installation, I inquired about when I should receive the $300 BGE energy efficiency rebate for the AC, and they told me it was not 16 SEER as they had said, but actually 14. The gas furnace on the other hand did qualify for the rebate, but the paperwork must be submitted by the contractor (Horizon), and after several emails and phone calls to Horizon, they still never submitted the paperwork over a year later, a loss of another $250.In defense of their high prices, they touted their excellent installation quality and service. Both the electrical and plumbing inspector from the county found issues which had to be corrected by Horizon. Moreover, they set the flow rate of the fan too high, so the ducts would make a loud pop every time the system turned on or off. The first service technician that came out said there was nothing he could do about it. When I got them to come out a second time, I had to explain to the technician that the fan speed was adjustable and show him how to adjust it.Avoid this company at all costs.

We had a great experience with Horizon!We hired Horizon to replace our 6-year old HVAC system. Yes, only 6 years old! We have lived in the current house for 10 years now and every season (not year, SEASON) since the day we moved in something was wrong with it. At first it was the original system that was the problem. We had a home warranty and kept paying them to keep sending someone out to fix it. Every. Season. And every time something else was wrong. Finally, 6 years ago we bit the bullet and replaced the system, again through home warranty. We even paid extra out of pocket to get a slightly better system than what the warranty was willing to cover. The installing company was not our choice, again because of home warranty. Long story short, the new system worked properly for about one season (even then it required a tech to come back out and fix the quantity of freon in the system, since something was off). And every season, winter and summer, since the new system was installed there was some other problem. The indoor blower flooded the basement twice due to some issue with the drain pipe. The coil had to be replaced. The house was not being cooled in the summer (even couldn't get it down to 76-77 degrees on an 85 deg day!) no matter what the techs the home warranty sent did! We called the original installer about the problem and have received no calls back, not sure if they are even around any more. One of the techs that came out even got electrocuted by the outside unit!So we dropped the home warranty company, never again will we use them. We saw the Horizon trucks in the neighborhood and decided to give them a call. They came to check the system and said the coil needs to be replaced. Again. At this point we were very upset by the whole situation. The tech explained that there must have been some debris in the lines (that were never replaced when the new system was installed) that must be causing these repeated failures. That our compressor sounds like it's 15 years old and not 6 (another company told us the same thing 2 years ago). That replacing the coil (very expensive!!) will not prevent the outdoor unit from giving out in the next year or two at most. That it may not get rid of the debris in the line even if properly cleaned out. We were not prepared for the cost to replace the whole system but did not have a choice.We decided to hire Horizon to replace our HVAC because of the promises they made. Yes, everyone makes promises so we knew we were taking a chance with these guys. They promised to replace the entire system, including the lines. They said that our unit was undersized and that they can install a bigger system (the previous company and home warranty wouldn't do it). They promised to provide a catch tray and sensor so our basement won't flood again. They promised to do a neat install without unnecessary disturbances to our basement. They promised to have a clean worksite and to complete their work quickly and efficiently. They promised our house will feel great afterward. We told them our past experience left us quite dubious but partly because we wanted to believe them and partly because we didn't have a choice, we went ahead. Well, we have had the system for almost two weeks now and can say that they fulfilled all of the promises they made. The installers were courteous, patient, very careful in these COVID times and efficient in getting the work done. They walked us through every change they made and answered all our questions. They left a neat and clean space behind them.Yes, the jury is still out on the longevity of the system but the 10-year warranty (in writing) they gave us on parts and labor helps put some of those worries at ease. In the meantime I write this from the comfort of my cool 75 deg and 48% humidity house (it's 82 and 67% outside) and consider it money well spent. I would highly recommend Horizon for your HVAC install.

Had a AC installed earlier this year. Installed next day. This is where they get you. Have been having issues since the install. Service tech are scheduled days after you call. Haven't been able to fix the unit in almost 8 months. Their managers will give you a story that they are going to make it right. No follow up and will won't honor their guarantee. Their online chat and online scheduling never get a call back need to call for everything. Will never use this company again for any services all talk no service.

Sent me a gift card to change my review, but didn't send the gift card. So I'm leaving my review again.We bought the most expensive unit and had issues a year later. The screen said call horizon so I did. They sent out an employee and he literally said he won't do anything. He got mad and then spent the rest of the time on the phone complaining. He did look at the electrical panel downstairs for our outdoor lighting. I told him multiple times the panel for the AC was in the attic where they installed it but he never looked and told me to hire an electrician and left. So my husband looked at it and all it needed was to be powered on/off.Called a few months later for a different service. The lady had given us her business card and told us to call if we needed anything. She was like why are you calling, this isn't the number for that. So we called the main horizon line and they didn't get back to us until after we hired a different company to do the work. They called us a second time after I told them I already had the job completed by a different company.Overall, unreliable and poor customer service. They did install our HVAC within days of ours breaking so that was great, but that's it.
Had them come out for a quote on a new split system as ours is 24 years old and currently not working. The salesperson Jay was nice and appeared knowledgeable. He did ask to remove his mask while we discussed the quote for the new system, which I obliged but left my mask on. So far so good, despite the potential increased risk of Covid 19 transmission.However, he started with $16K retail for the new Lennox system, then said no one pays retail and brought price down to around $12K. Then he said if I made a decision immediately and had it installed the next day it would only be around $11K. This was a real turn off for me as I do not like this type of negotiating. How does the price of a system change that much if I decide to install it the next day. Also as you can see the quote/agreement is barely readable. Most reviews online are good for this company but I am probably taking my business elsewhere based in my experience.The owner called me a few days later after Ieft my review. He apologized and provided clarification on why pricing was adjusted based on installation date. He provided his number should I decided to use Horizon. Excellent service recovery.
Scheduled an appointment for a tune up 3 weeks in advance, they tried to reschedule 3 days before but when I asked to keep the original appointment they said they would call me back if they had to cancel it. They never called me back and did not send a technician the day of the appointment. When I called the next day they said they cancelled it because they don’t service my area which makes no sense because I called to make my appointment and when I scheduled it they confirmed that they do. I’m very upset that I waited 3 weeks for no reason.

Had a tech come out earlier this week to have a look at our plumbing because we were experiencing issues with our washing machine spilling water onto the floor. The tech brought in an auger and found a clog in the pipes, but later backtracked and said the clog wasn’t the problem and the pipes would need to be replaced. Before leaving he assured my fiancé that the washer could still be used for small loads without issue. When I attempted to do a load of laundry, I found that the washer was half full of water and when I set it to drain it immediately spat water all over the floor - the tech had fixed absolutely nothing and the washer was most definitely not safe to use without risking water damage to my home. The tech clearly was not competent enough to diagnose the problem, let alone fix it, but of course he had no problem taking our money and lying to our faces. We were totally ripped off by Horizon and I am shocked to see so many positive reviews of this company, especially in light of the fact that we’ve spoken to multiple other plumbers since who have all confirmed that Horizon is overpriced and incompetent. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We got a whole HVAC system install. Pricing wise, Horizon did a better job pricing and financing than other companies we looked into. They had the system we wanted in stock and ready to install and were able to do a quick turn around install. The installer (Chris) was great. He showed up on time, explained everything he was going to do, did a great job installing our system, and then spent a good deal of time walking us through what he installed and how to work the new thermostat. He took time to answer any questions we had and was really nice. Overall he was a great guy and I appreciate the work he did and the way he did it. Horizon does a great job every time we've needed them and I highly recommend them.

Service was professional and on time. Technician performed work as quoted and identified other issues on the old piping. He quickly fixed the original leaks and the newly identified spots for the original quoted price. Extremely happy with service and professionalism. I will definitely use them in the future! Only gave them 4 out of 5 stars because they could not provide service same day as advertised. They set up the appointment for the following day and were on time and called to let me know the technician was on his way.

I made an appointment back in April for an AC tuneup. They were completely booked until the end of July. They waited till the day before my appointment to tell me that I was out of their service area. So,I waited 3 months to not have my air conditioner checked and didn’t have a chance to make an appointment with another company. The lady told me that unfortunately sometimes they just don’t check. Like what? Complete garbage. Completely frustrating. You would think that a company as big as this could make an exception for someone that waited that long and it was their mistake.

Calvin installed safety shut off valves for my gas stove and dryer. He is knowledgeable and professional and because of him and the level of his work I will be using Horizon in the future.
Servicemen are nice, but they’re out to rip you off. They quoted me $3600 for a blower repair that they couldn’t “guarantee” to fix the issue. Also quoted 10k for an entire HVAC repair. We ended up using East Coast Heating and Cooling who replaced our entire system for a fraction of the cost in a timely, respectful manner. Whoever calls me a thousand times a day for the $80 fee I apparently “owe” (think her name is Stacy) is considerably rude. It’s actually hilarious yet disgusting they get away with charging the prices they do. It’s a scam.
Excellent and very professional service. The installation of the new AC and heating system was done professionally by this experienced crew. I am very pleased with the new system.

On this visit I had technician come out to check the water heater. The water at times would go coldafter being on for 5 minutes. We kept having to turn it all the way to the left to receive hot warm water.The gentleman that came, explained after checking things out, said that everything was normal andbecause we have 22 gal water tank that it takes a bit to not only replace the water used prior to the next usage but also toheat it up. He was very professional about it very punctual.

We had a terrible experience with a Horizon Services technician who overcharged 17x the actual rate of AC repair taking advantage of our lack of knowledge of AC parts. The technician quoted $1,300 for changing an AC capacitor and a contactor, which we later learned together cost only ~$80 (and that is if you buy the original parts!). That means he was charging us $1,220 for 10 min of labor!! We said that number seemed too high and he brought it down to $700. It seemed suspicious we went down so much, I should have trusted my gut. We understand labor has a cost, but it's clearly not $600+. We're always happy to pay fair value for services, but this is plain abuse of customer's trust. Just wanted to let everyone else know to be wary of dealing with this company.

Axel and Devon did a great job! Gas heating and 3 1/2 ton AC replacement completed in one day, even after a couple of twists required some tweaks. Knowledgeable and friendly. Very pleased, so far. Found company in the Montgomery County Five Star Rated guidebook. Scheduled install for 2 days after first call and estimate(in the same day). All contacts have been friendly and knowledgeable.
When I bought my home a few months ago, my home inspector advised me that the HVAC system would probably need to be replaced sooner rather than later. Still, I was hoping to ride it out another year or so. But on Friday, a burning smell hit (and not the dusty HVAC first seasonal use smell). A wonderful tech came right out and gave us all of our options. The repair would have been a bit pricey so we decided to bite the bullet and replace the whole system now rather than gamble with a repair that may or may not carry us for a while. I was so stressed! The issues started on Friday and I had my new system by the end of the weekend. Dave and his team were amazing! They made an otherwise stressful experience very pleasant. Friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated to doing a great job. They were very respectful of my home and were even friendly with my neighbor. They took the time to explain how to get the most out my new system and even explained why I had some inconsistent temps with my old one. They cleaned up so well you would never even know they were here! I even saw one of them on hands and knees in my driveway making sure no screws, etc were left behind. Look, if you are reading this with the goal of finding the cheapest price, these guys might not be it honestly. But if you are willing to spend a little more for quality customer service and guarenteed peace of mind - then these are your guys & gals. I will not use anyone else for my plumbing/HVAC. And I love knowing that I can call them day or night and someone will come right out under my new systems parts/labor guarentee. Keeping people on the ready 24/7 is not cheap. I understand why they may charge a bit more up front. But the peace of mind is worth it to me. And I would highly recommend Horizon. Especially Dave and his team. Good, friendly, down-to-earth people who understand how important it is to still provide excellent customer service in a world that has largely moved away from the old customer is always right model of doing business. Awesome job Dave & crew! Horizon should be proud to have you on their team! I would score you higher if I could! :)

Kept getting coupons in the mail for the A/C tuneup so I figured sure might as well have it done. First Tech that came out did not do the complete job was just trying to sell a new unit, however Horizon stood behind their services and sent out a different tech who was very thorough and did a great job. Wish the first time it would have been right but I feel that's the tech not the company's fault .

I had my AC service (routine check) on September 15th by Horizon Services. Technician Giovanni Vivrar came out, went downstairs to the unit and told me that the drain was a little clogged and that he cleaned it out with his brush. He said that all was well with the unit. For the 16th and 17th the weather was cool and there was no need for the unit to come on. On the 18th while cooking dinner, I realized that it was really hot in the house. Checked the thermostat and it was reading 82 degrees. AC not working at all. Called Horizon as they advertise 24 hour emergency service. I explained that I have severe medical issues (asthma, respiratory issues and that I sleep with a breathing machine and cannot be without AC. I also explained that I was leaving town the next day and I needed someone to come out. They told me that they could not send anyone out until the next day between 3-7. I asked for the manager and was told that he would not be available until after 10 p.m..Sorry but we can't send anyone out. Got back in town on the 20th and called them from the road as we were heading home. They sent technician Tavon Caldwell out who spent about 90 minutes trying to diagnose the problem. He basically told us that we probably need a new unit. As the unit was put in in 2011 I could not understand why. He also told us that there was NO freon in the unit and therefore the unit was probably gone. He advised us to call BGE Home because they put the unit in. Called BGE Home, they sent a technician out. He was here abouit 30 minutes and unit was fixed. Problem? Clogged drain. Freon at correct level. Unit working fine. He also advised me that if and when I needed to call again to tell the that I have severe medical issues and that would give me Priority Service. Needles to say, I cancelled my contract with Horizon and will never use them again. They are rip offs. DO NOT CALL HORIZON IF YOU WANT HONEST SERVICE.

I have had good experiences in the past but the tech came by and seemed rushed and completed two tune ups on my heat pumps in about 15 minutes and never checked the indoor units. I'm used to techs checking coils capacitors etc.UPDATE..I called and they agreed the tech didn't follow their checklist and without hesitation refunded the amount I paid.
We were extremely happy with the timeliness and work provided by Andres. We will be 100% certain to use his services in the future.
I saw that they claimed they called me about this but that is not true. No one called me about the excessive cost for installing this valve. I guess they reply just to hide the fact that I feel that they way over charged me. My pressure reducing water valve became clogged up. It took the rep who was a very good guy less than an hour to replace it. When he said it would cost me $800 I told him I would think about it and look for another company. Then he said you were having a special and took $100 off the price for a still extreme cost of $618. Since I didn't have any water flowing into my home and I was having a Father's Day event the next day, I had to get it done. I think charging someone $500 for an hour job is a crime.

A tech came to my house and fixed the problem by replacing the capacitor. Upon leaving he said that all of the pressure and chemical levels were good and that everything was running smoothly. Less than 24 hours later my A/C unit stopped working completely. A new tech came to my house and told me that my compressor was broken and needed to be replaced. I am not saying the first tech broke the compressor, but it is very odd that he said everything was working fine and then less than a day later it was broken. Very disappointed.

This is my second home visit to tune up my air conditioner, my technican, Antwarren was very professional and polite. Was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I would like to recommend him to all who need Horizon services and would like to request him in the future.
Nobody enjoys having to replace a heating and air conditioning system, especially when the weather is calling for a week of record breaking temperatures. But that is just what we had to do. I first called at 4:30pm on a Friday, after two other companies told me that they didn't work after 5 and didn't work weekends. Horizon came out at 9:30pm. After a thorough inspection, it was determined that my 25 year old unit was not able to be revived. An appointment with Rebecca was set up for Monday. Rebecca was great to deal with. No pressure. And I do mean she applied absolutely NO pressure. I don't deal with sales people that like the hard sell. Instead, she went over a number of options and let my wife and I decide what was best for us. She could have pushed us to a larger purchase, but she didn't. We set up an appointment for yesterday. Jonny Diaz's crew arrived promptly at 8am, just as scheduled. They immediately went to work and, without exaggeration, they didn't stop all day. They had a lot of work to do to clean up years of deferred maintenance on my part. They finished up at 8:45 pm. Jonny went over every part of the system with me, giving me tips and instructions on how to handle any issues that may arise. The craftsmanship, and I do mean craftsmanship, was amazing. The system was buttoned up as neatly as any that I've seen. They were professional and as nice as anyone could want. I don't normally do such reviews, but this experience was one of the best I have ever had in the years that I've owned my home. Additionally, I've been a real estate agent for over 21 years and I can assure you, I'll certainly recommend Horizon Services to any of my clients. I'll sure be using them myself from now on! Evening on a Sunday they did answer the phone and offered to come over to fix my ac wow how great but after the diagnosis which I didn't know anything about pay 700 that I didn't have I'm disabled I look up the part to see it only cost 20 so I feel ripped off to pay 1400 an hour so be careful with this company 3996525 invoice

I was extremely impressed with my Horizon technician Clifford. His knowledge and communication skills were exceptional. I signed up
for Horizon’s Priority Partner Plan, primarily because of the expertise and professionalism shown by my repair technician.
In a nutshell, boiler shutdown by a company I did not trust. I called Horizon for a second opinion. Eric S. came out assessed the same unfortunately, however he showed pictures of my boiler and there was no question it was on last legs. This was 2 days before Christmas and FREEZING temps were on the way. Horizon had someone within the hour at my home to measure and give estimates, and could have it installed THE NEXT DAY! Todd gave us many options on pricing and finance. the next day the 2 man crew came in and showed 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. EVERY Horizon employee was professional and courteous. They made sure they kept my home clean while working and left the basement looking better than when they got there, lol. They made us feel that our business and our needs were the only things that mattered. I AM A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE! Thanks again for making sure the family that was coming for dinner on Christmas day was nice and warm.

Andres was awesome. He discussed the problems/plan of action in a manner that a 10 year old would comprehend. I'm thankful that his knowledge was able to save us money in the long run, as replacing equipment is more costly than charging an A/C unit properly.
We were Horizon customers for years. As recent as 2020, we had a whole new system installed in our old house. At that time we would have rated them 5 stars. We purchased our new home in September 2021, and had Horizon come out in October to look over the two units in our new home. One unit had a leak, they filled with freon. In May 2022, Horizon comes out for normal service via our service contract we transferred from our old house. The same unit is in need of freon - we have a leak!Scott comes to our house on May 20th, we agree on new Lennox unit, but have to wait for parts - we understand the impact COVID had on all parts of our lives. So we wait patiently.We finally receive a call, text, and an email stating Horizon will be at our home on June 8 to install our new unit - my wife takes a vacation day.June 8 comes - but Horizon had NOT. We call at 9 AM, customer service says they will call us back. At 9:58 AM they call and tell us the installers are getting our equipment together. From this call no one showed up and no one calls us back!!! Complete failure - nothing at all from Horizon. I call Scott on the 9th - he's mad, and states, they used your air handler on another job because that job made more profit!!! That's what he said. Chris Dunn, Scott's boss, never called - in fact no one called. 100% of all out reach was initiated by my wife. Chris has a YouTube video on how to save on your utility bill. Thank god it wasn't on customer service, integrity, or morals - Horizon did not possess them with long term loyal customers.If you have character, integrity, and value humans - do yourself a favor and use a different company. Horizon failed at every level possible.NEVER again will they be used by me, my family, and any of our friends.Epic FAILURE, Horizon, epic!

We had several issues. A toilet, two facets, and a valve that needed to be replaced. Jonathan, got right to work and handled the problem immediately.
When he left everything was done correctly, we are very happy with the results.
I could not have been happier. After a bad experience with another company Horizon came out on a Saturday to make sure I could have AC by Tuesday during the hottest week of the year. Repair and install techs were both knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly on time.
My Tech Calvin P did an exceptional job explaining the issue and cost to me. He worked with me to get the best price and completed the job as fast as he could. My new water heater was installed quickly without causing a major inconvenience to my family. Thank you very much for your diligence and professionalism.

Horrible experience. My system was screwed closed because the repair guy lost my inserts to close my filter in. Instead of telling me, he used screwed. When I called the company, it took 3 calls to have it fixed and after that I could not once get a supervisor to call me. There was no real apology. I guess I'm still supposed to be waiting for a call from March.
I scheduled an A/C service call for a week in advance but then got a call 1 day before the appointment asking if we could reschedule. I wasn't giving in to the request and was told that the techs are running behind and they will keep me informed. I got a voicemail the next morning (i.e., morning of the appointment) at 5am to call back. When I did, they told me there has been a mistake and that they do not service Baltimore City area, hence canceling the service call. In total, I had 4 calls with them, which were all answered quickly hence 2 stars for the experience.

We loved our technician, Joel Meltzer- 5 stars! We are mixed on how Horizon handled fees and on their response time- 3 stars. Here's the good stuff first: Joel did an exceptional job with our colossal drain backup. He went above and beyond in time and service, to clear the drain. Two and a half hours of hard labor: snaking down to the main drain, cutting and replacing sections of pipe both underneath the kitchen sink (we used drano and caused the pipe to crack), and in the main pipe down in the basement. With the unexpected additional cost to replace the cracked p-trap under the sink, Joel applied a coupon to keep the cost down. The total repair was just over $200, which we found extremely reasonable, since a more standard drain cleaning would cost that, and would likely not take 2+ hours to get done!Now the questionable: changing fee quotes. We called Friday afternoon and were quoted a flat rate of $99 to clear a drain. We didn't immediately schedule, and when we called back just a few hours later we were quoted $199 for the *exact same service*, which we found disturbing. While we were told Horizon would honor the first quote, there was no explanation given for the different price, on a same-day call for the same exact service.Finally, the disappointing: response time. Part of Horizon's appeal is 24/7 service. We were offered a same-day response on our first call, but just a few hours later we were told it would take two days for them to come out. We get it's the weekend, but that was a huge disappointment from a few hours to a couple of days. Then on Sunday they canceled our appointment. They called to say they were dealing with a gas leak and had to reschedule until the following day. So all total, it took not a few hours, but 3 days for Horizon to send someone to us. That meant the entire weekend without running water in the kitchen, not good!That being said, Joel was exceptional; the work and the cost were extremely reasonable. We would use Horizon again, with the hope that the response time would be better. In the future, I would be sure to ask if their fees change based on time of day or week, because that flat rate change with no explanation did bother me, even though they did honor the first quote.

*****See update below-My husband had identified that the heat was on and working but the blower was not running (we could hear the pump running and warm air barely came out of vents, where it usually blows). The tech tried several solutions before telling us that our programmable thermostat was the cause for our heat not to be working. He offered to put our old thermostat in for us and that that would turn the blower on. He informed us it would cost $270 for him to install it, or we could. He left while my husband was installing it. The blower still is not coming on. (No heat. It's 18 degrees outside.) When I called to ask for the tech to be sent back to our house to try something else, the scheduler called him. The tech said we had declined service. My husband signed paperwork that says he accepted service, not declined. The next available appointment is 24 hours later at a time when I will not be home and the scheduler was not sure wether we'd have to pay the $79 dispatch fee again. Will not use Horizon again.***UPDATE -- We received a call from Horizon's service manager who apologized to us immediately and promised to refund our dispatch fee to our credit card. Thanks for satisfactory and quick customer service when something went wrong!

Adrian and Dequan removed my old furnace and AC unit and installed a new one, as well as a new thermostat in a single day. They arrived on time, explained to me what they were going to do before the entire process began, answered all the questions I had, and left me feeling assured I hired the right company to do the job. They identified, troubleshot, and communicated problems they encountered while fitting the new system in my mobile home in real time, and educated me about my new system and how to maintain it properly. I am VERY happy with my new HVAC system and the professionalism of these two technicians. Job well done.
Paid $300 for labor for a tech to install a $18 part and it took a hour. At first the tech didn't want to put a new part in, but I said I needed my heat on, he was inexperience and didn't understand the issue, he made many phone calls and then replaced the pressure switch. They had a same day appointment and came on time which was the strongest suite that this company has.

The tech they sent was knowledgeable, on time, and personable. I have done all of my own past AC repair (mostly replacing the capacitor). It was hot, and I could not get to it, so I called them. They responded same day. The tech got there 10 minutes before the window, and in 15 minutes he was gone. The 4 stars is from the price - a bit steep IMHO, but I honestly don't know how it compares to other emergency repairs (since I have always done it myself).Kudos to their customer relations manager as well. My system is 19 years old - time to replace. I will be getting a quote from them.

He insisted. He came back and told me I look like I have a lot of Money lol He said I owned 1,300 (I said no) he said can you 900 ( I said no) he said 200 and he advise the system was broken still. The 200.00 was for him to check on the system only. My heart is hurting. I'm on a fixed income. My kids are cold and it's dead of winter. First and foremost! Don’t let the commercials confuse you! What a scam! All support is on the front end and not in the back end. They are only looking for the bottom line. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as well as the state and as a business owner myself, I have never been more disappointed! Ultimately, we paid $296 PER HOUR for 90 minutes! They charged us full price $444.00 for replacing a flush that was removed and discarded (by us), then charged us for the valve that was shut off and the removal of a NON-EXISTENT TOILET that was removed the day before! It’s not about the money, it about the character of the business. They couldn’t even provide a receipt for the check they cashed. When we complained -3- days later they promised to have a manager call me the same day. DID NOT HAPPEN! Again, for us it was not about the money IT WAS ABOUT THE TOTALLY POOR PERFORMANCE, MAYBE FRAUD THAT WE EXPERIENCED. STAY AWAY FROM HORIZON!!! Still waiting for a call….

I have an update to my previous review. I got a call about a day after the review posted from a representative of Horizon Services. She apologized and explained to me what may have happened and promised that they will make amends for my loss in time and effort in preparing the utility room for service by sending me a gift card. True to their word, i got a $50 gift card from them a few days ago. They have a customer for life!!! I already scheduled an inspection of my heating system with them in October. Thanks Horizon Services for your responsiveness,Sincererly,EugeneSatisfied CustomerThe overall experience was great. The only negative was that I had an appointment on Monday and nobody showed up nor called. I therefore had to call again and reschedule the appointment. Anthony Frost came to my house this morning to fix a plumbing problem ,leak. under my kitchen sink. He was fabulous. Not only did he explain what had to be done, but I got an exceptional warranty on his work. He also took the time to explain information that I had concerns about my hot water heater . I bought a partner plan from him also to save on discounts in the future. I give him the highest review possible.

Having been without heat for one week and in the process of dealing with an obviously sub-par contractor I telephoned Horizon. Frustrated and agitated I vented some of my frustration on the young lady who took my call. She maintained her cool and professionalism throughout even though I may have not. The service tech arrived way sooner than I expected, looked at my system and prior to fixing anything gave me an overview of what I needed now and what I would likely need in the future. We worked out a price which I thought was fair, he fixed my system all within 3-4 hours of my initial call. Very satisfied.

Replaced water heaterHad called several companies for bids on water heater replacement. I had remembered our neighbors having some work being done by Horizon and had seen their service van in their driveway which generated my call. While Horizon was the last to be called they were the first to respond - same day and in hours. They had the greatest sense of urgency to address my needs. Tim was excellent !! After my conversation with him there was no question who was going to replace our water heater. He also did a thorough safety inspection and found there was also an issue with our sump pump. Recommended that it also be replaced and provided us with 5 quotes on the various options. Special kudos to Tim for doing such a great job and gaining and enthusiastic customer for your firm !! We were up and running the following afternoon ! Awesome service ! Thank you and Happy Holidays !!

I made an appointment after 11pm for the next day and your technician Mesfin was at my house before 8am. He quickly diagnosed the issue with my AC unit, took the time to explain the issue, and had it repaired within the hour. He was curious, professional, and respectful. He wore protective gear the entire time. Payment was a breeze with the use of a tablet and emailed receipt. We had an AC tune up a couple of weeks ago, and Horizon was great. The technician came out on time, was knowledgeable and pleasant, and didn't attempt to sell us any products or services we didn't need. He said the AC was in good shape after the tune up, replaced a dirty filter, and went on his way. Horizon also honored a coupon for a lower tune up price, even though it had expired. Would definitely use again!

I find it rude and unprofessional for Sean the one that was smoking outside and drinking his Powerade that's provided by the company disposes of his bottle in my parking space. There was a trash can right there! They also left a Bge meter or something that they removed in my front yard instead of taking it as they did the other things. They left the old ac inside cover in the yard as well. Careless and unprofessional for such an expensive job I expected better. Sean, Rico and I don't know the other guys name, bad business for having me to clean up after you.Update a customer service representative contacted me and addressed my concerns, she was sincerely apologetic about my experience. I appreciate that customer service is very important.
Horizon installed a new HVAC system in my home. Since the installation I’ve had technicians come out for routine maintenance. The technicians are always polite and well informed. The office staff is always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Horizon.

Ron had visited me because I had plumbing issues with shut off valves. He clearly explained what needed to be done and gave me the assurance. I was pleased with his professionalism.
Basement was flooded and I was frantic. Of the 3 companies I called to replace my sump pump, Horizon was the only company that was able to show up the same day. Always a positive result when using Horizon Services. Have used this company for heating and plumbing issues. Always professional and affordable.
We were in need of a new water heater so I had 2 companies come out to look at the job and bid. Mike at Horizon gave a comprehensive quote that included replacing leaking pipes near the water heater as well as problem solved and gave options for replacing the 75gallon tank that we had. The other company agreed when I pointed out the concerns that Mike had , but they really didn't even consider the additional work that needed to be done. Mike did a fantastic job with the install, and cleaned the place after. He will definitely be the one I request the next time I need any plumbing done.
Clifford came on an emergency call for a carbon monoxide leak in our boiler. He was quick, professional, courteous, honest and knowledgeable. He got parts and did the repair next day. Will definitely use Horizon again but specifically requesting Cliff who luckily covers our area anyways!
When we woke up to a flooded basement and a burst water heater, it was such a relief to hear a real person on the other end of the line at 7AM. Horizon sent Gregg over to address the issue. He was such a lifesaver for us! Not only did he help us quickly replace our water heater, but he also walked us through submitting an insurance claim and finding a clean-up service. We are so grateful!
Their appointment practices are horrendous. When selling you on their product, they tout the expansive crew that will be able to respond faster than anyone. Its a lie to sell you something. I know first hand. I called to set up a routine tune up. I was given an appt within 2 weeks. I was quite pleased...until she saw I was on a warranty plan and not paying. She changed the date and offered an appt 4 months. She claimed there are different techs for warranty customers but she would not answer if a tune up was the same with or with out a warranty. I asked for a supe and was told there are too many people waiting in the queue to take the time to address my issue. A supe will call me back within 24 hours. Of course, they did not. I have emailed them and called without a response. I still do not have an appt and I am sure times are out until December in the week this has been going on. I just want a respectable appt time. If they couldn't do that, why bother with them at all?

We had a Gas smell flowing threw our home, gas leak was detected by the technician at Horizon, he found that things were loose on the valve and he tightened them up, and now the stinky smell is gone, he was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable and fixed the problem. If I could give 0 stars I would! I made an apt and received 2 text sayin they would show up ata certain time and they NEVER showed up and supposedly tried to call me and leave a voicemail but I didn’t have any missed calls or voicemail !! They don’t honor what they have on their website and the First Lady I was speaking with just transferred me to somebody else! Very unprofessional !! Save money and time and call a different company that cares about their reputation!!!!!

A/C unit was dead when I got home from work, but I didn’t make the connection for a few hours. Finally realized our fan stopped spinning and called horizon right away. They had someone out to assess the problem within a few hours. The 24 hour technicians are great in an emergency! Definitely recommend!

We called Horizon for a second opinion when another company told us our entire AC system was shot and needed to be replaced for $14,000. Our Horizon technician, Shawn, found the actual problem in just a couple minutes: a single frayed wire likely damaged when we lost power during a recent storm. We are so grateful to Shawn & Horizon for their honesty and the fix to our AC! I will recommend Horizon & Shawn to everyone who needs a reputable AC or heat service. Jake was extremely professional and kind! He and his team arrived on time and immediately got to work. They laid out mats and cleaned up after themselves. Throughout the day they would tell us the progress of the installation and at the end of the day Jake walked us through our new unit and thermostat. I purchased an AC unit less than a year ago and since then there have been about 10 service calls. I also purchased a warranty. Horizon said they were going to fix it, then that they would replace it. I have been without air going into a month without any assistance. I call and managers say they will call back and no does. This is not how you should treat customers. It is the middle of the summer, this is the worst service I can imagine. It is amazing that I was able to get the sale done in less than 24 hrs. and the installation in a week. But their customer service has been so poor. No manager has made any effort to fix this. Service tech after service tech has told me that it needs to be replaced. What was the warranty for? I would not use this company again and will tell everyone else the same. This company needs to make this right.

The technician Steve arrived on time, found an open parking space so as to keep our driveway open, wore slippers to keep our house clean, was kind to our dogs, gave a good explanation of what the service included and how long it would take before beginning, and then did exactly what he said he would. I promise, you will not be disappointed. I have high standards (when you're paying thousands of dollars, you expect a certain level of professionalism), and my expectations were exceeded. They left the work area (my attic) cleaner than they found it. How many companies would do that? I can't speak highly enough of this company or these technicians. Jay Rosengarden (the salesman) was also a pleasure to deal with - No gimmicks, no typical salesman smoke and mirrors or trying to sell me what I knew I didn't need. Working in the construction field, I know the field techs are a reflection of the company as a whole, and I can confidently say Horizon is an excellent company.02AUG20 - Once again, I cannot speak highly enough. Calvin responded to a call about a sewer gas smell coming from the sink. He troubleshot it down to a bad Studor vent, and had it cut out (the previous owners glued it in place) and replaced in less than 30 minutes. I always recommend Horizon to anyone that asks.
The tech, Andres, is a pleasant fellow that has years of experience in the field. Most importantly, he had a genuine concern to give me the info I needed to make a decision about how to proceed. No pressure or hype.

Misdiagnosed problem as bad main board. Wanted to sell me a new furnace. BGE Home came out next and found problem was dirt on ignitor. Their whole service model is show up, tell customer there is an expensive problem and upsell a new furnace. What a scam.
Mr. Whitley and Marvin came to our house and they were extremely knowledgeable about our 1949 plumbing and how to repair our leaks without major renovations or breaking the bank. All of our questions were answered, they arrived on time, & they were efficient. We felt blessed to sum it up. We are certainly happy we called Horizon Services.

Our heater stopped working, and Horizon was able to have a technician out within an hour. Mesfin was punctual and friendly, and most importantly, was able to resolve the issue during the visit. Horizon may not be the cheapest out there, but you get the quality you pay for.
The Horizon technicians found dangerous cracks in our system which they pointed out to me. The next day they replaced the entire unit and hot water heater. This was done, as promised, the very next day and we are very happy with the quality of the units and the technicians who installed them.
Tony R. the Horizon Service Rep. came to my home Columbia, MD. He was outstanding in his professionalism, attitude and make sure to inform me on all options. He performed a danger check of the furnace and made sure to inform me of the dangers of carbon monoxide. Overall great help.

Horizon Services is very professional and do excellent work. Their communication was really great and they were able to do the work really quickly. They weren't the cheapest quote that I got, but I felt like they would be a great company to build a relationship with. I wish the fee for the quote was waived for going forward with the work - but that is my only complaint.
My tech Matt Steele was AWESOME! I appreciated his timeliness and his determination to fix my leaky faucet. He was on time, professional and took all necessary measures to complete the job. I really appreciate the reasonable quote to include a warranty for the work, which is something I wasn't getting from other quotes/bids. Will absolutely use Horizon again and give Matt and Horizon a five-star rating.
UPDATE: after calling and filing a request to speak with customer relations, I received a call back and they have agreed to send a technician back out to fix my AC at no additional charge.------------------Original review below:Pro: was very responsive and came out very quickly. Technicians were very kind and walked me through explaining the problem with my AC.Bad: was charged $300 and AC wasn't fixed. They wanted to charge me another $400 to actually fix the problem because they had to replace a part. I can literally purchase the part for $15 and I am confident it would take about 5 minutes to switch in the new part.Extremely disappointed in the amount of money I was charged to literally just find the problem.
Technician arrived on time and was able to replace a dead hot water heater the same day, working late to make sure the job was completed and everything was working - did a great job!

Matt Freidenberg from Horizon Services helped get our A/C back online quickly. He was professional and efficient in getting to work and analyzing the (fortunately simple!) issue with the system. We had a service contract with another provider but they could not get out to service our A/C for at least a week. We called Horizon on a Saturday and they came out the next day. Given that we were entering a 95+ degree heat wave, that is the kind of excellent service we like to see.
it wouldnt let me pick no stars, I paid them to clean mold from my blower and install UV lighting after they told me it needed it on a regular check up before the fall, they dragged the entire ac piece outside down 3 flights of stairs every step you heard the unit slam on the steps, it didnt work when hooked back up, then was told the motor was broke after they dumped 100 gallons of water on it in the parking lot, on the motor replacement almost 2 weeks later, they removed the blower unit and changed motor, why didnt they remove the blower and take it outside to clean in the first place for the cleaning? Now i have no ac, Run from this company. Now my unit is broke and the coils looks like someone just kept hitting it with their knee, ive bin in construction for 24 years they are complete clowns, dont forget to check them on the BBB its even worse there.

Horizon Services was extremely professional and timely. They took time to explain everything in detail and were courteous, respectful and honest. For such a big investment (new AC and Furnace) we felt completely comfortable with Jonathan, Austin and their team. We have been happily recommending them to our neighbors! (June 2018)A year later and we have not been happy with Horizon. Upon sale and installation, the Horizon team told us that we would notice a significant decrease in the temp difference between floors and the moisture level in our basement. The temp differences are just as bad as before we got the new system and we are still dumping our dehumidifier daily. (June 2019)
Our technician Josh was extremely professional. Not only did he ensure we knew what he was working on, he spent time to educate us on what we could do for interim maintenance.

Not only did he perform the scheduled maintenance, but recognized a broken component and provided the repair to the electrical box located near the compressor unit. He even went so far as to ensure my circuit breaker was correct for my A/C system. Horizon routinely goes above and beyond whats necessary, and consistently provides outstanding service!

Came out for a seasonal service yesterday ( we had an old inefficient system so replacement seemed out best value ). That same evening a system design specialist came out to give us a full quote and then today a brand new HVAC was installed. Everything happened quickly, efficiently, and professionally. The Annual service review of my Heat Pump and Air Handler were very helpful to know what problems we were incurring and would start to incur. I've been with another company for years and they weren't as thorough as Matthew. He was very thorough and gave his professional opinion and technical review of every aspect of our aged system to identify why it wasn't cooling at peak efficiency.
Horizon did a wonderful job installing a new furnace and AC unit in our basement. They had a hard time threading new copper pipe from the outside compressor to the unit but they stayed with it and got it done. I wish I could remember the installer's name but I have since deleted the text messages. A minor issue (not with the installation team) was with the resulting holes in the drywall and weather Horizon will pay or contribute to fixing the holes. It was an acceptable value but we needed a competitive bid from another company to get Horizon to the right price. Overall, very satisfied.P.S. I just was able to recover the names of the installation team (Axell, Warren and Brandon), they were very good!

My A/C was not putting out any cold air and I called to have a technician come out and see take a look. The service assistant mentioned that a tech could come out the same day which was great. They mentioned that it would be a $89 dollar charge to come out and diagnose the problem. I had just purchased a home and electrician had put in a new thermostat. The tech showed up and was very friendly and professional. He took a look a the wiring on the furnance and mentioned that some of the wires were not wired correctly. The HVAC system is five years old so it was working fine. After he connected the right wires together he mentioned he had to charge me for labor which is understandable. He came back to me with his Ipad and showed me that I owned him $530 for labor. I was going to tell him to put the wires back the way they were because that amount is excessive considering the problem. No hardware replacement, leaks or other failed components. It is connecting wires which the tech showed me. I have properties in Ga and for that price I could have flown my HVAC tech to MD to do that work for equal or less. I will not be contacting this company again for work. The prices are very excessive. I think the good reviews are due to customer service which the tech was very nice but it seem like the company push them to be salesmen and get as much money as they possible can from the customer. I did not want to dispute this with the tech that day. You got with this company be prepared to pay a hefty fee after the $89 fee. Never again

We had a sink hose burst under our kitchen sink and they were able to get someone out less then 24 hours on a weekend. Technician Mike R. Came out on time and was amazing! Was extremely pleasant and helpful.He fixed the busted hose and was able to replace the faucet also on site as well. He was even able to also give us an estimate right away on a repiping the house and a few other things we wanted to fix. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Horizon Services came highly recommended to us by our neighbors. Our technicians Joseph and Sterling arrived on time, answered all of our questions and did a great job installing our HVAC unit. We are on contract with Horizon Services. They make sure you are happy with all aspects of the install. They will come back if there are any issues after the install. I would highly recommend them.

The team of technicians that installed our air conditioning system was great. They were very courteous and personable. Once we contacted Horizon, we didn't have to wait days for the technicians to come. They arrived early in the morning, worked all day, and were finished around 4 pm. Matt is quite knowledgable and answered all my question and concern. This is my first year to try Horizon and I hope to have a lasting relationship with this company. I've have bad experiences in the past, and so far I'm happy with Horizon.
Had to get a a/c unit installed. Only one guy showed up who was an absolute saint. If I could rate him five stars I would. He wasn’t able to finish the job alone and horizon was supposed to send someone else out to finish it. This was on July 2nd it took 3 phone calls to actually get someone scheduled and they no call no showed so wasted a day of work for me. I’ve had better experiences with Comcast customer service which is setting the bar extremely low. I think I’d rather have my house at 100 degrees instead of dealing with this awful company

Update: Overall I can't really recommend them, but at the same time there are also much worse alternatives out there, so in that respect they're better than some.Original Review:To be determined so far. The install on a system one step below their absolute top of the line option took a full day longer than quoted. After the end of the first day there was no communication regarding when the installers would return. It took an hour of calling the next morning to find out they would be coming back that day. Furthermore 90 minutes after the installers left the system shut down due to a fault. Earliest a tech might be out is 3 hours, potentialy 7 (putting the tech there at midnight). At this point I've lost a full extra day of pay, along with an unknown amount if the tech isn't able to resolve the issue until some unknown time in the morning.Update: The tech actually arrived relatively early in the time window to fix the problem. As it turns out the installers failed to fully test the system. The line to move water that had condensed on the coils was kinked and not allowing the pump to push water through the line. Given that a premium system was purchased and the installation to twice as long as expected, overlooking a pretty simple final check like this is somewhat disappointing.Overall the quality of interactions decreased markedly once work had started. Overall I've had much worse interactions with other HVAC contractors. At the end of the day I'm ambivalent about recommending them, they're not good, but not bad either, simply mediocre.

Amazing is all I can say! We just had our Lennox XP20 installed by Horizon services & we're extremely happy with the installation crew & product. All 3 of the installers: Cody, Jake & Norman did such a phenomenal job!!! They arrived on time just as scheduled and were very professional at all times. They were thorough in completing the work and were very patient in answering all of our questions. We were impressed with their on-site cleanup as well. Thanks to the excellent work done by Cody, Jake & Norman, we can now enjoy our newly air conditioned home!!! From Mike Pilarski, our HVAC salesman who provided the the cost & schedule information, we are very happy how he organized & coordinated everything to go very smoothly. From beginning to end we're definitely happy customers & we highly recommend Horizon Services...wish most companies operated like this!!!
Installation crew and salesman were professional and knowledgeable. Installation was performed in great detail and communicated throughout the process. I hope the Lennox air conditioning system performs just as well for the next +10 years!
The only A/C repair facility that would come withing 24 hours of requesting during a hot spell. Very capable technician and quick repair.

The service I was happy to have but Disappointed in the payment process. I was told I was being charged $295 for fixture to my thermostat. I signed off with the knowledge of being charge $295 but did not recieved a reciept after my transaction. I called to have the receipt sent to me after a few hours of not getting it. When i finally get it, i find that they charged me $400 for extra fees I was not aware of. Now I feel bamboozled. I will not be using their services again. I basically was charged an additional $100 that I was unaware of tech fees and service fees that I was told was included in the price that I signed off on. The entire invoicing process is unprofessional. I will not be using them again.

This has been the second time I used Horizon Services. Our technician, Shawn, arrived during the window, diagnosed our issues, and made the repairs all very quickly. As a novice engineer, Shawn continuously answered my badgering questions while performing diagnostics. I learned a lot about my system, and a lot about a wonderful veteran of the US Navy.
Barcay was able to come out late in the evening and diagnose and quickly repair the problem with poor visibility and lot of bugs within the same day I needed the repair.

Excellent service to replace my water heater. Tim, the technician, was professional, polite, and friendly and answered all my questions. After Tim left I noticed the hot water was a little brownish. I called the office after 9 pm and to my surprise they connected me to Tim who was at home. He gave me advice to address the issue and even offered to come to my house that night! I told him it could wait till the morning. His advice to run the faucets for some time cleared it up, and everything is fine now. I'm impressed with Horizon's and Tim's responsiveness and dedication to getting the job done right. I highly recommend Horizon.

My first experience with Horizon and it ended horribly. My heat pump (14 yrs old) quit a few days ago. I called Horizon since I've been receiving lots of their mail and the reviews were glowing. Carl came out next day and diagnosed the issue and was very kind and explained everything, all the while with undertones of you probably should just get a new system (ok, fair enough). Can't complain about Carl at all. He was professional, courteous, etc. One issue he found was the disconnect switch ($15 part at Lowes; would cost nearly $600 from Horizon; way too high, but OK, I can understand; I would have paid it). Carl got power to the system w/o installing the disconnect (which saved me $600, so I really appreciated that), but then he found the blower motor was not working. Long story short, his recommendation was to replace the system since the cost of repairs would be too high to dump into an old system (fair enough). 4.5 stars for Carl. Great guy and I was getting a great vibe about Horizon, until I met the sales guy.Now comes the horrible ending. Sales guy (purposely not naming names here) comes in around 5pm and the moment we sat down it was hardball, pushy sales. He was very condescending and disparaging of other HVAC companies. Made it seem like Horizon was the only game in town and they are the only ones who do the best work (fair enough, that's his job). Then he shows me emails about how several trucks are going to be idle the next day and it's gonna cost the company $80K in payroll. I did not appreciate the condescending tone and his attitude stunk. My wife was not pleased by his attitude either. The moment he realized I was not an impulsive buyer, was entertaining other quotes and wouldn't sign on for a next day install, he sounded quite upset and totally uninterested. This is not what I expected from such a highly rated company. 0 stars for the sales guy.I'd like to give just 1 star, but overall I'll give 2 stars since my experience with the technician was VERY good.

Consumer beware! Do not use Horizon Services for your plumbing or HVAC. I have been nickeled and dimed by them.First they installed a new furnace, which seemed great but then come to find out the AC condensation line was not installed properly. I only found this out 5 months after the fact, when the AC was being used. Horizon came out to install a a new pump but I had to pay for it?? It was their installation error in the first place. Talked them down to $500 from $700, only to find out this part is $35. And it took about an hour for the service to be completed. I was not provided with an itemized invoice.Then about a month later, I needed a drain cleaning so I called Horizon. They were unable to clear the clog after having them out twice, but again, I was still charged for the service that they could not provide? The technician that came out did not have the tools he needed to even get the job done. I had to ask a neighbor to borrow the tool. And all they wanted from me was to have them replace my pipes, to turn a $150 job into a $2k job. From past history with this company, we said no to pipes being replaced and to just clear the clog. But the technician's boss would not allow him to do that so he left without clearing the clog. So, after three days of not having working plumbing (I couldn't even stay in my own home), I had another plumber come out in hopes of clearing the clog. He was able to do what two Horizon technicians could not do in a matter of minutes. Horizon charged me for a service they couldn't even provide.
Micheal's performance was excellent. Asked first what was the problem. Looked at each area needing repair. Listeeds to all of my questions and answered each very professional. Got first hand answers from boss on anothrr problem my house had that another technitian would have to look at.Micheal was very polite and scheduled another appointment to complete the job at hand and schedule the other technition to come and check my furnace. I thank Horizon Services but especially Micheal.
I first learned about Horizon last year when I saw a plane flying an advertising banner across the horizon. I looked with binoculars as we live in rural country and saw the name horizon plumbing. Because of the cool advertising and guaranteed service, I thought I would call them the next time I needed service. Well in May of 2015 our sink stopped up royally and horizon came to the rescue, even getting on our roof to clear out the vent pipe. Great professional and clean cut service guy with proper identification and orange booties to keep the house clean. With the yr guarantee I had no worries when just recently the same clog occurred. They came out speedily and fixed the sink very quickly free of charge, apparently just a small issue this time.I will be looking into the heating and air estimates as well and will update posting.Highly recommended.

I have used Horizon for several services in the past month. Unfortunately, I needed several repairs at the same time. My most recent service was regarding my sump pump spraying water outside my home. The tech, Robert Whitley, was professional and knowledgeable about plumbing services. He took the time to clearly explain what the issue was and what needed to be done to resolve it. He made every attempt to ensure he covered everything before he left. He went above and beyond. I really appreciated his courteous service and professionalism on the job!
Calvin was prompt, professional and extremely competent. He explained what would be done and how it would be done. I am very happy because the entire experience was positive.
Horizon is absolutely fantastic company with reliable service. My A/C was not working and they sent a technician within 2 hours of my telephone call. The technician, Shawn Monroe was very knowledgeable and professional. He restored our A/C within one hour. The charges were very reasonable. We are so happy to have Horizon for heating, A/C, and plumbing repairs. We used horizon few years ago for a heating problem. It also was a fantastic customer service. I only have good things to say about the service technician, and the same day service. That was terrific. But I do take issue with the pricing.I woke up with a wet kitchen floor due to a defective garbage disposal, and naturally I panicked, since I am 80 years old, and have no one to help me. I remembered the ads on the TV for Horizon same day service so I called immediately. I was told there would be a 49.50 charge to come out. Thinking that Horizon prices would be competitive with the market, I agreed. What a shock! It was over 600.00 for the job. I let the technician do it since I didn't want to to pay the service charge for nothing. In retrospect, I should have paid the charge and said goodbye. I would have been ahead of the game by letting Home Depot do the work for about 300.I really think Horizon should be more upfront with their prices which seem to be overinflated.At my age and situation in life, 600 is a LOT of money for me to put out at one time. I've learned a lesson--------get several estimates! I was so impressed by all the ads on radio and tv, but I'm afraid they don't tell the whole story.UPDATE-----After speaking with the Customer Service Manager at Horizon, I am changing my review from one star to 5 stars. I was very impressed and somewhat surprised by how anxious the company was to resolve any issues their customers had. They certainly resolved mine in a most timely manner. The service rep was not just informative, but pleasant and empathetic. Horizon Services will be my go-to-guy whenever I need a plumber.

He has been to my home once for a tune-up of my system and my rental property twice for necessary repairs. During the recent cold weather emergency, my two year old Horizon installed furnance shut itself off because a pipe froze because of an incorrect installation of the humidifier on my furnance. It took Horizon three full days to get to me. Imagine no furnace heat for three days. This started on Christmas Eve day. I had no heat over Christmas. Stores were closed so I couldn't buy space heaters..I had one small one and a friend loaned me one.Otherwise all my pipes would have burst. Don't expect warranty work on holidays. You'll be waiting just like I was. And don't believe advertising that says they respond 24/7. It just isn't true.

Kevin Green came to check on a suspected leaking toilet. He was on time, polite, clean and conscientious. We have used him in the past and will request him in the future if and when an issue arises.
Excellent experience with a/c tune up. Technician Carl Robinson quickly assessed our unit and provided excellent adjustments and recommendations consistent with our needs.
The technician came, did all of the inspection and maintenance on our furnace. He showed up on time, with a mask on, and protective footwear to avoid getting our house dirty.We had asked about some recommended maintenance that would have cost around $300 that a technician had recommended before, and he pointed out a more severe issue, and said not to bother until we fixed that. After totaling up the issues with our 13 year old system, we asked about the cost to replace, and he was able to set us up with an appointment to find that out as well.
TL;DR - I was the customer from heck, but all 8 of the Horizon personnel I worked with were friendly, patient, and incredibly professional. They bent over backwards to earn my trust and confidence, and delivered superior results!Our furnace stopped working the day after Thanksgiving. I called Horizon in the morning and they had a tech, Shawnte, to our house shortly after noon. Shawnte was great. Very friendly and very fast. He quickly advised us that the furnace shut off because a roll out switch had been triggered. This condition typically happens when the heat exchanger has been cracked, and it can result in very high levels of toxic gases in the flue. I watched as Shawnte checked the exhaust gases with a probe, and the readings were in the thousands of parts per million when they should have been below 50. Shawnte's boss, Carl, then came out with a camera designed to check for cracks in the heat exchanger. I sat with them as they inspected the heat exchanger and found a series of cracks exactly where they predicted they would be.They had a sales person, Rebecca, out to me that evening. She put a very thorough system estimate in front of me, based on the options I wanted. She answered almost every question I asked, and, when she didn't know the answer, she called Carl, the service manager who had come out to my house, to walk me through the details of the system, Horizon's parts and labor guarantees, and how their installs differentiate them from other HVAC companies in the region.Later, when I decided I couldn't foot the entire cost of the very nice system I had Rebecca spec out for me, she came all the way out to my house AGAIN (on a Sunday!!!) to help me pare down when I was seeking, sweetened the deal with discounts, and even had me speak with her sales manager, Cameron. Keep in mind that my conversation with Cameron happened at 7:30pm on a Sunday night! In the end, I agreed to a system that was still very nice, much more efficient than the system I already had in my house, but without all the bells and whistles I thought I could afford.Horizon had a team out *the very next day* to replace my system, and the team, Adam, Tim, Sean, and Dominic were just incredible. Friendly, informative, and patient. They even stopped in the middle of their work to answer questions I had about the system they were installed, etc. They worked for 12 hours to get it all done that day, and Tim and Adam stayed late to walk me through all the ins and outs of my new system and thermostat.Definitely recommend!!!
Horizon was very responsive and quick to come out. They cleared a clogged drain and repaired a leaking pipe. Price was very reasonable. I will definitely use them for all my plumbing needs.
My AC stopped cooling and I called Horizon. They came promptly and on time; the technician was professional and seemed competent. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a damaged capacitor - this literally took 10 minutes or less. The price to replace the capacitor was in excess of $400. I have replaced capacitors previously and knew the repair was very simple and quick, taking less than 15 minutes, and that the part (the capacitor) costs in the range of $15. I thought the estimate of more than $400 was quite excessive; I declined. I was then charged an additional $89 for a total of $178. I was taken aback by this - it is not the case that the visit is simply $89. It's $89 to knock on your door as the tech told me. Anything else, including the estimate itself, costs money: thus, an additional $89 for the less than 10 minutes of diagnostic work. I simple purchased a new capacitor and replaced the old one. Total of $178 + $15, but still far less than Horizon would charge. Poor value; deception in that there is a cost to the work estimate - that is not included in the $89 knock on the door charge. Very disappointing.Addendum: Unfortunately, no text and no email sent from Horizon has a job number associated with it. And no receipt was sent following the tech's visit. So I cannot include a job number here - none was sent as far as I can see.Addendum 2: Based on the same review placed at the Horizon website, Horizon contacted me by phone, asked about the issue I had with them and in the end reimbursed me $89 (the fee for the work cost estimate). So in the end, I did pay $89 for the visit, as Horizon advertised. I was very impressed by their willingness to listen and kind reimbursement.

Horizon services are above and beyond the expectations that one would have for someone who comes to do repairs on your home. The technician was very professional, efficient, knowledgeable and took the time needed to evaluate my entire system before giving me a diagnosis on the problem of my unit. I had seen the advertisements on television I was very very intrigued and now that I've had the services the advertisement is 100% correct .they are on time , efficient and they certainly do give you the attention that you need in order to have repairs done properly

*Edit* Company reached out with apology and did best to make things right.Sales, upselling, not thorough, not thoughtful, and all around bad experience. I do not post reviews normally but this is an exception.I know this isn't the technician's fault completely, but it was overall bad. The technician came and checked our AC unit for a few minutes then quoted me nonchalantly around $1,000 to change the circuit board. No details, just out of thin air as I assume he figured I'd just go for it? Quickly googled the circuit board and it was around $200 from the manufacturer. I asked for some explanation and it was sometimes it just happens to electrical parts and we need to charge for labor (okay, I can get my head around that). I said that price was way too high and ultimately negotiated to $600. He changed it in minutes and left... I should have said no in hindsight. The unit then continued to leak after he left. They came back out and confirmed the issue was the condensation tray and a back up of dust. The air filter was dirty but there was no offer to clean up the carpet that the water leaked onto, no offer to make it right, no apologies, and the initial inspection was obviously not thorough and THEN on the second visit they tried to pitch a $740 upgraded EZ Trap pipe.I would not recommend this company and won't be using their services again. I am mostly understanding but this was 2 situations that were handled poorly.

The Master Tech, Andres, got to work immediately and did a thorough evaluation of the system. He would discuss any problems with me and show me exactly what was going on. I was very happy with the service I received and immediately signed up for the yearly maintenance plan.

Company is a crock!!! Called for service heat was not working, informed us service call charge. Ok, no problem like $90. They sent some young kid (who did not wear shoe covers as advertised on their website) but anyway. He performed a maintenance service which was not needed at the time and did NOT fix the issue!!! He did not tell us this Prior to doing the work OR give us an invoice or receipt. I had to call this place 3 times to get one. Still waiting for supervisor to call backDo not use this company!!

The Horizon tech, Andrew was very friendly and highly knowledgeable about my AC system. This was the second Horizon AC tune-up I've had. My system needed a few parts replaced, which weren't cheap but overall still an excellent value as Horizon guarantees your AC for the rest of the cooling season. I will continue to use their services and recommend them to others.

I was thrilled with my experience using Horizon. We had our heat turn off during very low temperatures. I tried to call a local provider and could not get a call back. I decided to call Horizon remembering their commercials. I was shocked how responsive they were to my issue. I had a great technician, Ben at my home within 24 hours. He identified the problem quickly and was very informative during the visit. I already scheduled a followup tune up for both my systems, which Horizon scheduled for less than a week away. I always thought this company made a pretty large promise to live up to in their advertisements but from my experience, they exceeded it.

didnt get a chance to write a review when Giovanni came out last Fall to tune up our heat pump and air handler for the winter but he is very knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions I have during the service. This time he came out to look at our heat pump which began clicking loudly for the past 3 days since we turned on the AC. Turns out the clicking was coming from the reversing valve because freon had leaked out to about 20% pressure when the norm should be 70%. He was patient to diagnose the problem and ultimately advised a new unit as the most cost effective solution since our unit used old R22 refrigerant so we'd have to replace in 2 years anyway. I was very satisfied with both service calls and would recommend Giovanni to anyone.My only annoyance is the inflated cost of parts Horizon is willing to charge, which is not a reflection on my review of Giovanni. However, to replace a capacitor for $266 when I can buy it on Amazon for $15 is outlandish

Jovan was very polite and professional. He worked well with me and my husband. He answered our questions and explained the problem in simple terms so I could understand. My husband knew what he was talking about, but I didn't. He was very patient and a great service person. I would be happy to have him return if there are any issues with the heating system in the future, or for the yearly maintenance.
Horizon services came out to repair my heat pump during the terrible cold snap. They had difficulty diagnosing the problem and had to return daily for several days in order to get it repaired. The technicians were professional and always arrived during their scheduled appointment window. There were some mistakes made by the company in diagnosing the issue which Horizon admitted and took accountability for. Although it’s not ideal to encounter errors with a professional repair I appreciate the fact they owned their mistakes instead of sweeping them under the rug. Throughout everything they maintained good customer service. I would use and recommend Horizon services again in the future.

I called on a Monday to schedule two separate appointments on Thursday, one for plumbing one for an electrical ground. I was told that I only needed one appointment, and that the same tech could do both. Thursday came around, the appointment window passed, and still no call. I called Horizon back and was told the tech was “running late”. I understand that jobs can take longer than expected, but a courtesy call is all I wanted. Half of my day spent waiting for someone who never showed up. Friday morning comes, the tech arrives, and they tell me that they can only do one of the jobs. I called Horizon specifically to make 2 separate appointments, and they told me only one was needed. After calling back AGAIN, they offered to set me up with another appointment for an electrician, but I refused. I will not be giving Horizon any more of my money and will be discouraging people from giving them business. Use a small, local business instead. They will actually value their customers.EDIT:Horizon's response to my original post is directed to a Ms. Castagnera, who apparently also had some concerns with the service provided.
Kevin was an excellent technician. He showed me the many reasons why my water heater needed immediate replacement including the leaking and corrosion of the unit. He was very personable with myself and my child who was in the home with me during the replacement. He explained the necessary code upgrades that needed to occur due to my older water heater as well as how to operate the new unit. He kept his work area very neat and clean as well.
Professional, courteous and complete my HVAC system was replaced in one day with minimum hassle. Joe and his crew explained the new system and thermostat to me and my wife with patience and attention. It was a pleasant experience having them in my house to do the work.I will definitely use Horizon Services again if the need arises.

I had a tech come out for my water heater. He was very nice. He thought he noticed an issue with my AC unit and offered to call someone in and waive the dispatch fee unless I was getting work done. I made it very clear I could not pay that dispatch plus get my water heater fixed. My AC had been running fine so I almost said no. The AC guy came in... said he didn't see any problem at all but took out my filter and said it was dirty and he would give me a free one from the truck. But when he came back he had a filter 2 inches too small but put it in anyway and said for me to just go grab a new size myself. Okay no problem. Then he charged me the dispatch fee anyway. I called the office to find out why I was charged when I was told I wouldn't be- you know because I'm not the one who thought there was a problem with my AC unit- and some man rushed me through my scenario and proceeded to mansplain to me about dirty filters as if I don't know anything. I got the hint- he wasn't going to acknowledge what the first tech told me so I hung up. Apparently an incorrect filter put in by them was worth 90 dollars and I still have to go buy the correct one myself. The vent makes a whistling sound now because it's got the wrong size on it. I would give 0 stars if I could. Go somewhere else especially if you are a female whose husband is at work during the visit.
Stephen and Gavin came to finish hooking up a/c to power, and installed and programmed new thermostat. They did a great job and answered all our questions. 👏 (Our new a/c and furnace had already been installed by Reggie and crew, 👏but we had to get a new breaker box installed) Awesome job - definitely recommend!

We had just moved into our house at the end of the summer last year and the AC worked fine. Tried to turn it on this year and no cold air. Horizon was able to come within two days and on a weekend no less. No charge initially just to come out which was great. The technician Chris was on time and was able to get our system up and running again. Overall great experience.
Tech came out to diagnose my AC unit. After narrowing it down to a TXV he gave me a quote of $3200 and then said I might as well just get a whole new system. In the age of google I checked and found the average cost of this repair to be about $800. I found another company to do it and they quoted me at $750. This company is garbage .stay away

So far, so great!We have had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with the headache of a cheap HVAC system that was poorly installed since living in our home (not by Horizon). We bought a flipped rancher almost 3 years ago and with everything new and renovated; we were not expecting to need to buy an entire new HVAC system within a few years!We first encountered issues within the first year of living in our home with 3 small children, one being a newborn. This is important because temperature control is a necessity with little ones! It all started when we first noticed water marks on the ceiling of one of the kid's bedrooms and then within a few days the ceiling had collapsed. Long story, short. It turned out the air handler, located in the attic was installed incorrectly. After a big fight for them to do so, the contractor of the house had the problem fixed by a subcontractor who had terrible customer service. We only were able to get this resolved by the contractor because this happened within a year of living in our home. Otherwise, the HVAC did not come with a warranty. Unforunately, this is not the end of our HVAC story.Horizon was recommended to us this past year when our A/C failed during a heat wave. A motor was replaced on the air handler and we had it repaired. We used them again this winter when we turned on the heat and our unit turned into an icebox (see picture). It was discovered that a major leak was happening and a repair would set us back a few thousand. We knew that getting a new air handler and unit was the smartest option as we no longer wanted to service a cheap, poorly installed system. Unfortunately for us, we had to get this done right before Christmas but once we met with Horizon to discuss our options, they were able to install the next day! We've had the pleasure of enjoying an efficient system with an excellent warranty with a honeywell redlink thermostat, a fabulous Lennox unit and peace of mind!Thank you Horizon Services! Everyone, the service technicians, sales, installation crew and management- you guys are the best! I only wish we had you guys install from the start! We are looking forward to cashing in the cruise for 2 that came with our new heating system-just another bonus of choosing Horizon!

The men who placed the unit and replaced the ducts were great. There supervisor not so much, he decided to climb on boxes in my closet and smashed and knocked stuff over and didn't tell us. He could have either asked us to move them or apologized. He just left and didn't say anything, we found them like that the next day.We've had some random noises since and the same person was sent twice to listen and instead of waiting he would say he doesn't hear anything, would make a few not funny jokes and then he would leave.
Our new outdoor unit stopped working yesterday and I gave them a call and had a service tech out the next afternoon. Come to find out the outdoor unit failed ( which doesn't happen that often ) they are now working on getting a new unit to install by Saturday. They are fast to fix and honor their warranty and to get our heat back up and running as quick as they can. They have treated us great from day one. They are a great company and they hire our vets. Which I like and will continue to support and use Horizon services.

The first time I used Horizon was for a oil boiler furnace install. I was blown away by the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the installer.Someone who took pride in their work. During a recent annual service cleaning George S. was thorough and very informative. He pointed out that my aging oil tank had some signs of possible failure and recommended I look into getting it replaced. He was informative on some options I would presented with and what to look out for. Thanks!

I discovered late one night that my indoor HVAC was leaking water. I called around to a few different companies and horizon was the only one I could get to come out (others quoted me weeks out!) They had a great answering service that took my information after hours so I could rest easy knowing it would be taken care of. The technician Michael showed up the very next day and fixed everything, as well as installed an extra safety measure to avoid this in the future! Michael was professional, knowledgeable, and had great customer service. I will definitely think of Horizon FIRST should any future issues arise!

Continuing problem with 1 of three mini split units not functioning as designed while under labor and parts warranty. Told by mechanic it might be circuit board. As problem occurred intermittently the supervisor did not approve replacing the warranted part. I overheard the conversation on speaker phone. Recently I called them out again and mechanic confirmed it was circuit board. $163 part evidently frequently is a problem with Mitsubishi. Part is warranted but they wanted $750 in labor for about 1 hour or 2 of time because my labor warranty has expired. They also refused to provide me with the new replacement part so I or another mechanic could easily replace it. They are unprofessional and unethical in doing what is right in this matter.
Horizon helped out in a very worrisome situation and left us with great confidence in the repair.

They quoted me $3800 to install a part that is readily available for $510, and is likely free from the manufacturer - a full 50% more than my next highest quote.
If you all haven't found or used Horizon Services, yet - and you need HVAC or plumbing services, they are well worth looking into. Great experience. Great technician - Giovanni! (Wiped down our equipment; wore protective booties around house; very patient.) Just finished my heating unit service, and I already scheduled them for my summer A/C service. Look them up!

Went with Horizon less than a year ago to install a heat pump and air handler. They charged $16,000. The sales rep assured me that I was paying for a quality install. That was one of the reasons they charge so much. Fast forward 10 months to one of the coldest winters we've had. Our new AC is struggling to heat the house with the thermostat set to only 65 degrees and our heat running constantly. We had Horizon come out to check on it. It turns out not all the heat banks were activated during the initial install. So much for quality install.

This is the 4th time I have tried to fill out this section. The...keeps going back to Google with no options to return! So, because the technician deserves it, I will try again...Our door bell works at times but not this day. I really appreciate the technician's efforts to get in touch with me. He presented as an appropriate young man who was quietly comfortable in his ability to do his job. The plumbing issue proved complicated. He discussed the problem and options with me. I was not looking forward to moving a lot of stuff to get access to the tub from another room. He made another trip to the basement and found an option. The technician went to his truck a couple of times looking for options as well. The clog was difficult to clear. Afterwards he explained the issue.Did the work take longer than expected? Certainly. He remained focused on the job, not the clock. I respect him for that.I believe the problem was solved because of the technicians professional approach to his job. I sincerely say that he is a bright young man with the ability to go far because of his desire to learn and to get it right.

The technician provided by Horizon Services of Maryland to provide a tune-up for my AC system was a Matthew Radley. He was very polite and thorough in his work. At the end of the project, he took time to explain to me what the test results meant from the diagnostic equipment used. I would be pleased to use Mr. Radley again for my fall tune-up.

Our water heater went out at night and a friend suggested calling Horizon because they used them before. We called at 9pm and had Calvin at our door before 9am the next morning. He did a great job and was able to get out water heater replaced the same day. Would definitely recommend them for hot water heater work.As a side note the automatic text message updates letting you know the technician is on their way and their ETA is really helpful.

I would never waste my time calling Horizon for service. Had a problem with my heating system and call Horizon and when the person showed up he said he could not fix the heating system and he suggested I look in the yellow pages and find a competent plumber. I ended up fixing the issue myself and for a few hundred dollars rather than the $1000’s he said it would cost to get this fixed. He left knowing my heat was out and could care less. Spend your time to find a qualified and trained plumber.
My technician Gilmer arrived on time. He worked quickly and efficiently. My problem was a minor one that was solved right away. I'm very pleased with the service and will use Horizon again.

Called Horizon Services today to have a service tech look at my furnace. The Tech (Daniel Creasy) arrived and was professional, polite and friendly. He troubleshot the furnace and determined what was causing the issues we had reported. I showed my wife and I what was happening and what was causing the problem. He told us what options we had and didn't try to push us into wasting money. If I have any issues in the future I will be calling Horizon Services and request Dan. What got what we asked for and couldn't be happier.

Wayne did a great job of figuring out why the furnace would not function. It tried to start but soon shut down. After a few checks he thought it might be starved of air. An examination of the unit revealed that the intake pipe was clogged with leaves. His long experience with HVAC repair served him (and me) well.
This is a company I would recommend every time someone needs help with their AC. Their quick response from coming out & diagnosing my problem with my old unit to the quick installation of a new one. I can only say these guys are fantastic

Shawn was absolutely fantastic. I really appreciated that he had a fresh pair of shoe covers instead of re-using covers from other people's houses, and he was meticulous about removing them and putting them back on as he went in and out of the house. He was also very detail-oriented and pointed out some issues that I (and other technicians) had never noticed before, and he gave me some suggestions to improve my system. He also replaced my capacitor quickly and gave extra attention to the inside of the exterior units. I hope he's able to service my units when it's time to do the fall maintenance!

Needed a new water heater in a hurry! Horizen Services sent Ron and he did a great job. A couple of logistical issues delayed the arrival of the new unit but Ron was able to fit it into a very small space (thanks Ryland Homes) and it is working spectacularly.

Horizon Services was one of the recommendations from Angi (formerly Angi's List). They responded right away and set up an appointment for that afternoon. A tech became available sooner so we took that appointment instead. James was excellent. He was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He worked hard to complete the task, which ended up being more difficult because the faulty part had become lodged in place. The final price was a little above the estimate, but James had to go out and buy a replacement part, so that was entirely consistent with what I would expect. I will not hesitate to call Horizon again.

C’Don was a very courteous technician who showed up early and diagnosed our leaky faucet issue within minutes. Like you, I am a homeowners who wanted to hire a reputable company to replace my HVAC. I was taking bids on whole house replacement of failing copper pipes with PVC. James from horizon impressed me with his honesty, knowledge and manner and that was a big factor in Horizon winning the bid. He and his team did a great job with minimal impact to walls and ceilings and the system was up and running the same day. I woke up to no heat and called Horizon after seeing their TV ads... they lived up to every word!! The technicians were awesome and knew their business! They diagnosed and fixed an electrical issue on my furnace in a matter of minutes, literally about 5 minutes. There was no, let's replace this and then replace that try this and try that. It was clear that these guys are true professionals. Super fair pricing and on-time arrival. I highly recommend using this company!

About a week ago my AC stopped working and after doing some basic research we discovered that our motor had stopped working. During this time the weather was extremely hot and my house was over 90 degrees. So we did some research and discovered a 24 hour service called Horizon Service which had excellent reviews online. Horizon came next day and a tech named Matt arrived at my door step and after he looked into my AC unit he informed me that the motor was not running. Matt knew how hot it was in the house and also discovered I had two small children that required a cooler house. Matt proceeded to call someone at his truck and presented me with a quote over $2700 dollars to replace a motor and a module. After discussing with my wife we agreed that was insane. The next day my wife ordered a module and motor for our specific AC unit that costs $209 dollars. My incredible wife installed the new motor and for the past couple of days we have enjoyed a 71 degree igloo and saved $2500 worth of Horizon Services. All I can say is what happened and for people to be careful from company’s trying to take advantage of a situation. Their outrageous quote did help us save $2500 by NOT USING THEM.PS: Horizon Service charged me $79.50 dollars to come to my house for 20 minutes to present me that quote.

EDIT: I was satisfied with Horizon at the beginning but didn't make it through the process without them DRASTICALLY changing my opinion.The tech came out to look at the system and tell us it was ruined. The next day a sales consultant came out. I thought everything would be done on the install day. The day prior another random company called to say they had to come to line the chimney. That was the first I heard of that. The install is done and they say the chimney company will finish everything. I take yet another day off of work for the chimney people to come. THEN they tell me Horizon has to come back to reconnect the flue pipe and that they would be there shortly. Apparently Horizon didn't get that message because then someone called to tell me to schedule for NEXT WEEK. When I expressed my frustration that I wasn't told about the chimney people or Horizon coming back they said take that up with your sales person. When I asked the tech why the AC wasn't turned back on they blamed the chimney people. The guy on the phone said someone else would call me to schedule because apparently he was incapable of doing so. Zero accountability and clearly the left foot doesn't know what the right foot is doing.

Matt (the Horizon Technician) did a complete and thorough examination of my furnace, heat pump, and thermostat to identify the malfunctioning of my furnace properly. He was also very courteous and knowledgeable in explaining his final report of his inspection of the entire system. Great job by a great person to assure a great experience with Horizon.

Horizon services tech Bryan Livingston took care of our plumbing problem quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend him and will use him again should the need arise.
Don’t drive near their vehicles unless you want a busted windshield. Driving down I-95 when I passed their business truck, license plate Delaware “E88090”, driving next to the fast lane. No clue why they’d be driving recklessly with a trailer in the fast lanes but they were. As I pass, rocks began to blow off the truck bed, one smashing into my windshield and cracking. As I tried to get the drivers attention, him and his passenger looked the other way and drifted into other lanes to get away. Driving recklessly to get away. Thanks to my dashcam for capturing evidence of these lowlifes subsequently putting others in danger. My experience with Horizon Servicies was wonderful. Our technician, Carl C. was friendly and knowledgeable. He had our air conditioning up and running in no time. He explained what was wrong, in addition to the current overall condition of our old unit. I appreciated his honesty and recommnendations. I definitely plan to use Horizon for all our cooling and heating needs in the future. I would positively recommend them to family, friends and others!
Highly un recommended. This company charged $100 to come diagnose the problem and then told me it was gonna cost $4000.00 to fix the issue.I contacted a second company and they didn’t charge me to come out and look at it at all and then ended up charging $1525. I know every company has a different pricing but that’s just ridiculous. They diagnosed it exactly the same but we’re charging $2575 more. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Carl was Great! Our heat all of a sudden stopped working one night and we called Horizon. They set us up with an appointment first thing the next morning. We have two young kids and their rooms dropped down to 50 degrees overnight. Carl figured out the problem with the furnace, gave us our options, and performed the work right on the spot. I had a hvac installed on Wednesday in a condo the salesman Scott was awesome and the install was flawless. Tyrone and his crew did a great job and explained everything that they were doing. Only issue i have is the heat isn't currently working. They are coming out on Monday to see whats going on. I would 100% recommend them to do any work.
They best part was they installed everything in one day and super nice. But they damaged my dropped ceiling. Was told they would replace it. I've called several times with still nothing done. I shouldn't have to repair damage they did!!

Our heat went out in the middle of one some record cold days here in Maryland and of the three companies we called Horizon was the only one that was able to come out to service our furnace within 14 hours (the other companies were giving us 5 day to 1 week out timeframes.) So that was a huge plus.The tech that came out was knowledgeable, found the problem quickly (our capaciter was fried), and fixed the issue quickly. We were very happy with the price (the $80 service call fee was waived, so we just paid for parts and installation.)Very happy with the service.
I had my outside heat pump and indoor furnace unit replaced yesterday...Both of the technicians, Thomas Frock and Joseph Mistretta arrived on time and after looking things over, started work immediately...I was impressed that cloths were laid down to protect our carpets throughout the process...Both Thomas and Joseph worked hard to de-install the old system and install the new one. And showed us the new thermostat and how to access its features and functions...Also, the effects of the new unit were felt almost immediately...My wife and I love our new unit and Horizon Services !And I also want to commend Rebecca O'Neill, Comfort Advisor, for her involvement in the process from coming out to see the old system and setting up the removal of the old system and the purchase and installation of the new one as well as the follow up call...It was a pleasure in working with her !Horizon Services also replaced our hot water tank in March and we were very impressed with the plumber and process and that led to selecting Horizon Services for replacing the heat pump...I highly recommend Horizon Services !

The techs just left. They spent almost 20 hrs over 2 days (14 hrs the first day. Taking almost no breaks to plug away at the job at hand) completing the install and I wanted to say thank you. Adam, Dom, Sean, and Austin were a pleasure to have in our home. They were more than professional the whole time and busted their @$$ to make sure everything was not only right but neat. Being a tech at one time myself, I know how hard it is working in someone's house and all the challenges that come with that. They treated our home like I believe they would treat their home. The sales rep Rebecca was thorough and pleasant. She described my different options and helped find a solution that best fit my needs and budget. She helped find rebates to save me money, as well as coordinate the date and time for the install.The technician Jorge showed up on time and assessed what needed to be done for a difficult full HVAC system replacement in my home. He explained the work that needed to be done and got started immediately. During the 16 hour install, Jorge and Alex were very professional, patient to answer any questions and thoroughly cleaned up when the job was completed. Before leaving at 11:45pm, Jorge took his time to explain all the work performed, as well as describing the features of the new thermostat. I'd highly recommend Horizon and their quality technicians.
Had two A/C and furnaces replaced. Technicians worked 13+ hours in 90+ degree heat and still had time and patience to pay attention to details and show me how everything worked. Technicians and sales staff were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

We had an HVAC issue that was causing water issues in our basement. We called Horizon on Saturday night, and my husband stayed home from work to meet the contractor who came out on Monday morning. Ben Austin was the service technician, and my husband called me when Ben left to let me know how friendly, honest and knowledgeable Ben was. We purchased a home this past May that has radiators and a boiler. We are used to a furnace and vents, so this was different. We scheduled a heater tune up with Horizon Services. The technician, Giovanni Vivar, arrived on time and went right to work. He answered all my questions and listened to my concerns. We also used Horizon services for an AC tune up in the summer. The workers are courteous and knowledgeable. We will use Horizon services again in future.

Jose Silva was the technician who came to inspect the problem we were having with our 16 year old A/C unit. He was prompt, professional and courteous. We have not worked with Horizon before but based on our interaction with Jose, they have our business to replace our old system with a new one.
This company likes to pull the old bait and switch. Called them to have them replace two faucets on a double sink for us on a non-emergency call. They said the ball park pricing for this might be around $500. We set up the service call and The plumber comes out and has only a single option of faucets and says he won't do the job for any less than $1000. They still charged for their $65 visit. Unethical bunch of people.
These Guys at Horizon, you just can't beat. They have been doing a Great job on all my service work for a few years now. Here lately they replaced a Hot Water heater that B.G&E. did a very bad job on installing the last Two and B.G.&E.didn't Even put a drain pan OR a drain line on these heaters and they were installed on the second floor of my house. Both went up and completely ruined my upstairs hardwood floors on the first AND second floor, also my dining room wall was soaked along with the wall to wall carpet. i'm just telling you all this because this damage could been avoided if B.G.&E. WOULD HAVE DONE THE JOB CORRECTLY, like they claim to do for their customers.
Horizons Services are great! Our technician, Gregg Colbert handled our plumbing emergency - a burst pipe in the kitchen, with a quick assessment of the problem. First thing he did was install shutoff valves so we would be have water to the rest of the house. Otherwise, we would have had no facility to use overnight. He returned the next day to attack the cause of the problem by cutting through an old drain to reach the broken pipe and fixing it with precision. Hats off to Gregg - he really knows his profession and performs in an outstanding manner.We vote for a raise for Gregg!!

person answering phone had no clue what services they provide(used them before), so I asked to speak to tech. or mgr. reason maybe I not asking about service needed correctly, she got back to me in 1 min or so and said none of managers were available.....HUMMMMMMM
Horizon is outrageously high compared to local highly rated, respected independent plumbing companies. This isn't based on personal opinion or hearsay but actual facts. I received fee schedules and per/hour rates from three other local reputable plumbing companies over the phone after making the mistake of calling and scheduling Horizon first only to receive an outrageous estimate. We had a pinhole leak from a nail piercing. We cut the drywall ahead of time and provided access to it. All we needed was a plumber to come in and cut the section out and replace it with a 2-3 copper joint. We received a laughable quote of $483. Not a single other plumber exceeded 40% of this quote. We ended up with quality work, excellent customer service, and a very fair price of $158.25 total. Look in the photo at the 40 minute job they wanted nearly $500 for. Horizon has a great scheme going where they charge the mandatory fee just to show up, provides a cost of 200%-300% above the average cost and collects their fee for nothing. It's quite apparent they're dependent on customers that simply don't know any better or use the fact that they are at the top of the listings on the search engine results. The photos show the total amount of work needed, the quote, and the fee for showing up. As an independent contractor I understand the industry's practice of requiring an appearance fee but in this case I do not agree with it as they are nothing more than price gougers that far exceed their peers rates that are considered fair and reasonable. To be fair, I'd love to know if other reviewers, that claim they received a fair price, are able to provide info as to what they have to compare their costs to. I'm going to end the day hoping this is simply a case of a tech misquoting a job, which is understandable, but not excusable when it costs a customer. For the record, the wall will remain open for anyone in Horizon's management to view and justify their quote.

Shawn and his assistant trainee were the consummate professionals. They quickly diagnosed the problem and returned my gas heater to full operating status without draining my wallet. I rate them as one of the best techs to have ever worked on my house. True friendly and courteous professionals. Horizon is now my place to go for heating, AC and plumbing repairs.

We had no heat and couldn’t figure out how to get it running. Horizon came to our rescue. Andres Hoyos was our tech. He was great because he took the time troubleshooting and explained to us what he was doing. Once he located the problem, he offered several suggestions to fix our system. Yes, it will be expensive to replace the parts; however he gave us a clear explanation of the costs. His customer service skills are top-notch. We felt comfortable with the work he did. The technician Calvin was very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to the water heater replacement. The only thing I’m not excited about is paying $3600 to replace a 50 gallon water heater. After researching I definitely overpaid by a lot. The reason I chose Horizon is due to them working on Sunday and wanting hot water after the water heater broke on a Saturday.
They are great for PM services. Very Thorough. Matthew was very professional and took the time to highlight areas that could cause problems down the road.
I have a service contract with Horizon. Matt has been to my home twice to service my unit. He is polite, punctual, respectful and does a good job.

There were quite a few hiccups in the process that just seemed like communication wasn’t really a thing and I’d call and have to get passed around to several people before anyone could find an answer. Finally got installed, went smoothly and professionally-couldn’t ask for better! I want to give zero stars due to the lady I had to speak to regarding my final inspection. But that’s not the company’s fault that she’s rude. Overall, we are pleased with our purchase and can’t thank the sales and technicians enough, but I’d rather never have to deal with some of these people on the phone again. Ever.

Andres was on time. Knowledgeable about the system and took me through the good and bad of my current system. Was pleasant and answered all of my questions while solving the problem with ease.
I made an online appointment for a leaky pipe underneath the sink for 01-08-2022. A few hours later I received a call telling me that there was no plumber on call for that day. When I said that the appointment should be canceled, the woman on the other line told me she would check and get back to me. When she got back to me , she told me there was a plumber, but not for the time that I scheduled. When I said that would not work for me, the woman said Fine and hung up the phone on me. Rude, unprofessional, and even though I have used Horizon previously, I will never use them again. Promptly got an appointment with another service.
It’s only been two days but I’m pleased so far. Dominic and Glen were great and we’re very helpful in answering my questions. I gave the company four stars because the salesman said it would only take a few hours to replace my furnace, AC and water heater but they were here almost 14 hours. Although I received a $200 rebate, I just saw a $1600 coupon. I hope I didn’t qualify because I’d be really disappointed considering how much I paid for that system.

Well, I kept hearing Horizon's ads on the radio for 24/7 service, we make sure our technicians can work nights, weekends and holidays. So when our hot water heater went up on Christmas Eve afternoon, they were the first one we thought of. After calling and getting an answering service, we finally got a response early evening saying that nobody could come out until the following Friday (6 days later). Called BGE Home and they could schedule us for Tuesday. Granted it was 3 days down the road, but twice as fast as Horizon. And there is no option for zero stars.

Great work. I was very impressed with Cody. He did an amazing job. I would highly recommend him for any job. They cleaned up their work and the finished work looks and works great.
The Horizon technician proposed $11,000 to get a leak fixed and $1,300 to refill the coolant for our system. I ended up using another company where all the work was done for under a thousand dollars. Unless you’re made of money I’d recommend to get a second opinion before authorizing Horizon to do any work.
Joshua, the tech who was at our home, actually helped to install our system several years ago. He has been back - at our request - for annual spring/summer and fall/winter tune-ups. We will request him when it is time for our 2021 spring/summer AC tuneup. We ALWAYS get a professional job from Joshua and Horizon.
Rob was the right guy for the job! He assessed the issue accurately, ordered the parts, and came back to ensure that my stubborn leak was resolved in no time. We are very grateful for Rob and the Horizon team.

Very difficult to obtain a tuneup appointments for a customer who has a contract. And it's worsening. Calling at the beginning of October, they have no openings till mid- December. Calling at the beginning of May, they have no openings till mid- July. Close to an appointment day, they call and ask to reschedule because don't have a technician. But you have already made plans and adjusted your day schedule to be at home for this appointment! The customer service is rude, no one from management calls back to address concerns. Good luck if something breaks, estimates for replacement they provide- astronomical.Update: do not use this service. I remained with this service despite prior doubts but few days ago, we had technician Caleb who diagnosed a freon leak based on the pressure drop. This was during a cool day. He told he does not know where the leak is coming from and that both, inside and outside units, must be taken apart to find a leak. However, at the same time he provided me with the cost of over $3,000 to replace the coiling. I was confused and asked if I can get a second opinion. He said yes but suggested to at least fill up the system with a pound of freon. He said it will be $600. I was shocked and asked for negotiation. The reply was How much you can pay?. I was shocked even more and wanted to bolt out all together. But Caleb scared me by saying if freon is not replaced, my system will freeze. I ended paying $200. Today, I had another HVAC company at my house who did not find any freon leaks at all! I am very angry and waiting for Horizon manager to call me. I am requesting a full refund and will end my contract
Nathaniel from Horizon did a thorough repair of our central air conditioning system. It was a complex problem. He solved it. He was willing to go the extra mile. He even waited for a special part to be delivered so he could complete the work the same day. Due to complexities, we needed a new thermostat. He came the following day to install it. He is fabulous. My central air is now working due to Nathaniel at Horizon Services. We had been using window units for years to supplement a defective air conditioning system. Who finally took the time to fix it? Other companies wouldn't fix it. Nathaniel and Horizon deserve praise for a great job!

Adam & Dominic did excellent excellent job. They took their time to do the job correctly and clean. They did a lot of work at my home and left everything clean and tested all the sensors before leaving. Horizon is always on time and with outstanding technicians! I have had to call them out twice for various issues and both times they arrived on time, repaired what was wrong and totally cleaned up everything. Pleasure to work with them!

My cooling system is intermittent and I called in advance to schedule a complete new system install from Horizon. Horizon called to reschedule the appointment two times. Neither times when it was re-scheduled, was I ever asked the urgency of my existing system replacement and seemingly I was bumped to the bottom of the work order list due to higher priority tasks. So lesson to the wise, scheduling ahead does not pay, I think you will get better and faster service if you use state a critical (emergency) need. I am surprised a Big Ticket item like a new HVAC install is pushed to the bottom of the list.

Had a great consultation experience with Chuck when replacing an old HVAC system- he was very thorough going over replacement options and was able to answer all questions I had. Andres Hoyos is AMAZING. He told us information about our heating system that nobody took the time to inform us about before. He showed us more in-depth information about our thermostat and the heating system itself which allowed us to make a decision to replace a faulty (or near-inoperable) component. He didn't push us to make the decision, he simply told us what he observed and provided evidence to support his concern. Previous technicians did not perform the steps Andres took in servicing our heating system and the evidence showed it. He was meticulous, thorough and dedicated to providing the best service to our system he could. If possible, we would love to have Andres as our technician for future services on both our A/C and heating systems. He is TOP NOTCH and very knowledgeable....definitely a great asset to your technician team!!!

Work was good. Notification was not good. A reminder call came from non identified number the night before for an appointment that was made last November. Also sent a tec who had not had his COVID shot without permission to do so. He did wear a mask while he was here. But I should have been asked before I let someone in my house.

Well, I cannot attest to whether their plumber would have actually done good work, but I can share a cautionary tale about my experience with the company. I had a leak in my hot water tank and after calling a few places, Horizon could make it to my house the fastest (next day). They called and said he would be arriving soon and almost 1.5 hours later we had an orange truck at our house. Not the worst thing, but not the expectation given on the phone. He said we needed a new tank and that the cost would be $2464.We were told we could get a discount for purchasing a service plan, and it would be 15% off. I looked at the numbers and said that's 13%, not 15%. Assuming he just wrote it down wrong, he went back to his book and on the printed literature from his company telling him the price, it was the amount he had written. After I checked my mental math and proved that it was in fact 13.1% not 15%, another red flag flew. The price seemed high even with the 15% discount (that I had to pay to get) so I said we would pay the fee for them coming and look around at other places for a better price. That's when the plumber offered to come and do the job on the side for $1000 less. He said he would be there on Sunday morning at 10:30. In the end he never showed up. What's weirder, he changed his name on his voice mail, like I wouldn't recognize his distinctive voice, and shut off his phone and mailbox. What a coward. All it would have taken is a simple, sorry, gained some scruples and decided not to screw over my boss. But, no. Moral of the story is, Home Depot has a contract with D.W. Bahr Plumbing and they came right away and did an AWESOME job for $1800. I would recommend using that service.

I've used Horizon for installing and maintaining my HVAC system and fully intend to keep doing so; every tech I've interacted with has been extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and happy to explain what they're doing as they do it. Lloyd & Butch were awesome! They installed a new HVAC system complete with ducts and thermostat. They were very personable, knowledgeable, and appeared to both be expert / master HVAC technicians. Matt & Bocari recently visited our home to assess functionality of current attic A/C & heating system. While there is a “diagnostic fee” for the visit I did feel it was worth it given that we now have a thorough and detailed analysis of the current system (~19 y/o) understanding how to move forward. Though they were new to me -Matt and Bocari continued the same great service we received from Horizon in March 2017 when our basement HVAC & hot water heater system was replaced.
I have used Horizon Services for AC and Heater maintenance for many years. I am very satisfied with all techs that have worked in my home. I call them every Spring and Fall and will definitely call them for Fall 2023.

I called on a Sunday night, they came the next day, were on time an thorough with the job. My technician was very friendly and explained the problem, answered my questions and gave me options. He paid attention to details. I have already recommended Horizon to others and would call them again.
We woke up Saturday morning to the sound of our smoke detectors going off and a burning smell. Our heating unit was making an odd noise so we called Horizon Services. They quickly put us on their schedule for the today. We received an email notifying us that Shawn Monroe would put our technician and also provided a photo of Shawn. Upon arriving, Shawn, in orange shoe protectors, made friends with our dog, Leo, and listened as I further explained our situation. He followed me to the furnace and set to work to find out the cause. A bad blower motor was the issue. Shawn also looked over the other parts of the unit to determine if the motor was the only problem that needed his attention. He showed me a cost breakdown before heading to his truck for the replacement parts. There was heat back in the house within the hour and Shawn walked out after cleaning up the work area. I was very happy that Horizon Services could get a technician out to the house that day and for having Shawn being our tech. A very knowledgeable and respectful technician. Thank you...

Our nearly 20 yo AC went out at the peak of Maryland summer and Horizon Services was still very responsive. The sales person (Chuck) was on time and knowledgeable and helped us select a larger system to help address the temperature gradient between the basement and upper floor by Installing a larger unit with larger ductwork. The install was only two days after the quote, and the installers (Derek) arrived on time. I checked to make sure that the right equipment was delivered; however, the replacement box that the unit sits on that the warehouse sent was the same size as the previous one. I explained that I wanted larger ductwork as agreed upon and called the sales person. Horizon fixed this and sent out a new (larger) box and did a really nice job completing the install to include routing new lines, installing larger ductwork, and adding breakers (12+ hours in the heat). Overall I am happy with the service.
Shawn did a great job of diagnosing the issue with the gas furnace and fixing it same day. They had the parts in stock same day. The other company could not figure out how to fix the gas furnance, but Shawn at Horizon did. Professionalism all around. The horizon prices might be higher than the competitors but the service is top notch. You get what you pay for. Very satisfied!
Very well done. Replaced our existing heat pump system as specified by our contract, explained all work done after completion, and provided advice on thermostat usage, filter replacement, etc.

I just had Baltimore county come out to review the installation of my new furnace and air conditioner. They told me the wires were all neatly installed and tied down. As well as everything being sealed. I give Horizon an A+. Very happy!

My 15-year-old water heater started leaking and flooding my basement, so it was time to get a new water heater. I made an appointment with Horizon Services for the next morning and Calvin showed up promptly at 9 AM. Calvin did a very professional and efficient job of replacing my water heater, by removing my old water heater, installing a new water heater, a drain pan, some new piping and cut off value for the water heater. He was done before 1 PM. The new water heater was installed properly, it is working great and I'm pleased with the installation and how it works.My only concern and complaint is the price. Now, I will admit that I should have done more research before Horizon arrived. Horizon originally quoted me a price of around $3,500 to replace the water heater. After a bit of time, the price was dropped down to just a bit over $2,900. Since I knew I needed the water heater, I agreed to the price. However, when I was talking to a few other people, they suggested that the price seemed very high for a regular installation of a new water heater. The price of the installation of a new water heater and removal of the old water heater should have been less than $2,000.I had also asked about what the cost of a tankless water heater would cost and he quoted over $9,000. When I talked to a friend, she said she was able to get a tankless system for less than $1,000.My concern about Horizon is that their prices are way too high. Again, I should have researched a bit more, but I will say that later on finding out about the prices, it has left a bad taste in my mouth about Horizon Services. Calvin was very professional with the work he did, but it was also overpriced. I would encourage people to negotiate the prices lower (try to cut the price in half) before agreeing to any work.I might be willing to use Horizon again, but I will also be leery in the future of dealing with them.
I had an issue with my boiler and baseboard heat for over 5 years. Tried a few service companies with no success in fixing it. Clifford knew what to do and how to fix it properly. He took the time to do a great job! I highly recommend him and Horizon Services!

My hot water heater sprung a leak on a weekend and I was leaving town in two days. I called Horizon and they were able to send someone same day. The dispatcher said the plumber would have water heaters on the truck for install. This was not true. The plumber did NOT arrive within the window I was given. This is supposed to result in no service charge however since this visit was just to quote an install the late arrival guarantee didn't apply I guess. Tim quoted me a price which was pretty steep and I'm sure more than competitors. However with a small window I went ahead and had Horizon perform the install. Tim went out of his way to come in early the next day on a Sunday and do the install. He did quality work. So I'm thankful and appreciative of the work done. Just very expensive.

Had a great experience with Horizing after only using our home warranty program for years. Our Technician, Matt F., did a great job describing the work needed and always asked if I had any questions or concerns. My heating system now works as it should be and we are ready for winter.
Johnny was a soft speaking, hardworking technician, not the pushy, high-charging type of a guy. He listened, he was patient and very comforting, and kind. He helped me make phone calls to the water supply company in order to figure out what the problem was and patiently waited for their people to come over to turn off the water. He cleaned up the leaked water meticulously after the work was done. Johnny has won my trust. I liked the ladies in the Horizon office as well because they responded to me promptly, and notified me as soon as there's a change in scheduling. I would highly recommend Horizon to family and friends.

The Technician, Jonathan, showed up on time. He was pleasant and knowledgeable, and he cleaned up the area were he was working. We were grateful he was able to unclog our sink/pipe. I would definitely recommend Horizon Services.

The entire project was on time, as expected and included educating me on the new equipment that was installed. They were polite and professional including preventive care team, estimator and installers.
UPDATE: Stand up company! Gave us our money back and more. The tech that gave us the “quote” was dealt with and they ensured that it was not a representation of their company. They made good on their word. I will call for future service. Thanks!Called them to come out and look at the furnace in the basement. Told me that I was going to have to replace it--$4,000+. The tech performed some diagnostics and showed me some, rust. Got another person to come out to dx the furnace, pulled out a pin, cleaned it with a $1 bill and charged me $50 for coming to my house. Said the unit was fine and to keep cleaning the filters. Been working great since then--no problems and no need to replace the unit! Just saved myself $4000.

Get a second opinion. The technician came did not check the components properly then recommended a full system replacement for over 13k. I I called a family friend and it was a blown capacitor and the refrigerant was low. Took less than an hour to fix for$500 bucks. These guys are crooks. Don't use them!

I can't say enough about the professionalism of the crew that installed my equipment. I am a therapist and was working remotely seeing clients. They could not have been more respectful to this sensitive situation, even given how long their day turned out to be. I was extremely impressed and pleased with my experience. Sean and Joe were exceptional. Sean was extremely personable and took exceptional time to patiently explain how everything worked, the purpose of all the different parts and pieces, what expect going forward as well as what to do. It was apparent that he takes great pride in his work and that he truly cares about the customers, speaks highly of his employer (Horizon) and is a very genuinely kind and honest person, not to mention very hard working with great attention to detail. As I said, I am highly impressed and very glad I went with Horizon. I was originally hesitant as I know the price was a bit higher, though I don't believe exorbitant, but the quality of work and equipment was worth every penny. I definitely feel like I am in good hands! I will now consider using them for my plumbing and other needs in the future. Highly recommend Horizon for AC/Furnace needs. Oh, and I don't want to leave out my sales person, Todd Warren, who always patiently took my late night calls with questions and concerns, providing me with honest, experienced and educated responses, not just sales jargon or telling me whatever he needed to say to make the sale. It's hard to know who to trust, but I feel the team I received was excellent from start to finish. And they even were able to install a few days early!

This is the first time I used Horizon Services and they were GREAT! They were able to get out to us in a timely manner which was appreciated as our air conditioning was not working and it was hot! Matt showed up right on time. The company also sends you a link so you can track when they will be at the house with a picture of who to expect.Matt was courteous, knowledgeable and patient. I have little knowledge of home repairs and he answered all of my questions. He explained things in layman terms so I could follow along. He took his time to uncover the issues and worked on each item until our air was back working. He was very kind and an expert in his field. He instilled confidence and created a life long customer. Our furnace stopped working on a very cold night, I called a Horizon services and set up a time for the tech to come out here and check the problem. The tech arrived on time, he was very professional,and very helpful. I explained to him that I think I figured the problem out, he called his office and they gave a choice to do a tune up on the system for $89 or they can leave without a charge since they can’t change a propane regulator at the in ground tank. I decided to let them leave. Very honest, and upfront. I would use this company again if we need future services. A++++++Thanks

We are pleased with pinhole water pipe leak repair by James, Technician, especially completing the job in one visit. He ensured no further leaks before he left. This job was made difficult trying the locate the leak behind drywall and nonstandard pipe installation due to 1970's house development.

The techs. Damon Allen and Yonas were excellent However The price of the part they used to fix our furnace cost $82. new online but Horizon charged us over $900. for the same part. It seems like extortion when your furnace is broken and it's 17 outside.
With Horizon we always receive excellent work, completive prices, and superb customer service. Joel explained what needed to be done to repair our toilet, and did so promptly. We do not use any other company for our plumbing needs.
We worked with Shawn, Todd, Steven, and Dominick. All were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. No one wants to hear that their HVAC needs replacement, but knowing it's going to be done right and backed by great service and warranty really helps take the sting out of spending thousands. Highly recommended.

I've been using this company for my HVAC needs for about a year and a half. They helped maintain my old Carrier furnace and Carrier central air conditioner for a while, then they installed a new Lennox furnace for me and they now help to maintain that in addition to my existing Carrier central air system.They are always professional, and for the most part their technicians are knowledgeable. The last technician I had, Steve, was outstanding! When it came time to install a new furnace in April of 2022, They gave me a good price on the installation, and when there was a problem with the new system they fixed it within a day of me telling them about it.I took one star off of the review for two reasons. First, some of their junior technicians could use some additional training. I think you run into that sort of thing with any company. All of the technicians I've worked with save for one have been good. The one who wasn't was OK, but not great. The main reason I deducted a star though is that their repair services for existing systems not installed by them can be way over priced. If you have a system which they installed, they'll give you a good price on the install and at least so far they've stood behind the installation. If you ask them to repair an existing system which they did not install, though, you might end up paying more than you would like.Over all, the quality of their work is outstanding and the company is very professional. Just make sure to do your homework on repairs of existing systems.

We have a two zone house and Horizon did an outstanding and very cost effective job of replacing both of our systems two years apart: one heat pump, and one gas forced air / AC. In both cases, the jobs they did were significantly better than the original installs. New top of the line intelligent thermostats were included with both systems. Steven, George, and the rest of the crew are experts in their field.
So glad I picked Horizon!! My A/C stopped working on a 90 degree day. The first company I called couldn’t get anyone to me until almost a week out. I called Horizon and they had an appointment for me the next day. Their tech, Antwarren, arrived to the minute he said he would and was very professional and courteous. He explained everything and walked through step by step all the options. He was able to quickly get my unit up and running again and had the part I needed in his truck. I was so impressed I got the regular service plan which I usually don’t do, just because I now trust Horizon as a company to take care of my HVAC needs. Will absolutely recommend to friends and family.

Caleb showed up, listening attentively to the issues at hand, and began asking relevant questions to narrow down the problem with my AC unit, both the heat pump, and main unit inside. After checking my freon level, finding that it was sufficient, he found that the drain tube on the main unit was clogged.Long story short, Caleb clean out the tube, allowing water to drain, allowing the system to stay on, cooling down the house.Thank you Horizon, and Caleb.
Anthony was by far the best technician that we have had come into our home. He was professional, answered all of our questions and did a fantastic job, i am confident in the work that he did and i am extremely please that he was able to take care of this for us. Would recommend Horizon and Anthony to anyone out there experiencing an issue, he took pride in his work and came late at night to help us fix an emergency problem, before leaving he made sure that we understood everything about our problem how its fixed and the warranty that came with our service. Our experience with the entire Horizon team turned a bad situation with out existing A/C unit, into an exceptional end to end experience, which was both fast and worry free. It all started with Andres, who was both knowledgeable, friendly and was able to give us a temporary solution, while handling our questions and concerns, before handing it over to Chuck with the sales portion of the process. Chuck was great in understanding our needs and coming up with a proper solution, without trying to oversell us anything we didn't need or want. Finally Cody and Jake, were knowledgable, efficient, quiet and returned our basement and back yard to the same condition they found it in. The work and quality is exceptional, all new hardware and did not short cut anything. There is no question that we will use (and refer our friends) to Horizon for any future needs in this house or any others we may move to in the future.

My technician, Bacary, was very nice and professional! He knew what he was doing and any questions I had, he answered them. I am very happy with Horizon for their service.
Stay far away unless you enjoy being ripped off. I had my AC unit serviced during the spring and thought they did a pretty good job so I signed up for a service contract. They came out in October for the first scheduled checkup and told me that my 10 year old furnace was emitting 400 parts per million of carcinogens and that by law it had to be shut off until repaired. They gave me a price of $1123 for a new gas valve, discounted to $955 because I had a service contract. They also said that if that did not fix the problem I would need to have the furnace replaced at a cost of 5-8K, or my whole HVAC unit replaced for 10-15K. Since this was their first visit, and the weather was getting to the point where we would need to start using the heat, the light bulbs went off and I started doing some research. I found the gas valve for our furnace online for $49. I could not find any gas valves for more than $225. I could easily do the repair myself in about 10 minutes. A replacement furnace cost $1500. I then called BGE Home and asked them to come by and do a routine safety check. They found everything to be in working order and measured the emissions at 20 parts per million, well within acceptable levels. Needless to say, I canceled the service contract. I'm giving them 1 star because the site won't let me give them zero. Buyer beware, and be warned!

I was very disappointed. I have my ac and heating service. After he finish I had to go on line to get the invoice. He stated I needed a new air compressor . He never explained why. I had another company come out ..They said my compressor was fine. HE WAS TRU TO HUSTLE ME.

BEWARE OF ADDITIONAL CALL FEE. I called this company for an AC that was blowing warm air. Appointment given was between 4-8 pm and was told I will be charged $89.50 diagnostic fee. Tech came within the time frame given. Wore shoe covers before entering my house and was very thorough with the diagnostics. After the diagnostics I was charged $180. I was surprised the price doubled and was told by the service tech that I was to pay additional $89.50 for himjust to knock on my door besides the $89.50 diagnostic fee. Felt misled.
Andres had our system back up and running g in no time , much appreciated in a 95 degree day in May. He was professional, friendly and explained to us all the details of the problem and the fix.
Our technician Matt was fantastic. I'm a teacher and appreciate it when people performing home services teach me what's going on, not just tell me what needs fixing and how much. Matt took time to talk through things and show me how my system works (and doesn't work). Horizon was responsive and reasonably priced. We're really happy!

Do NOT use Horizon Services! Earlier this week the technician told me it would be $11-14K to fix my system since my compressor was bad and I needed a new indoor or outdoor coil or both. He passed me off to a sales rep who came out and tried to pressure me into purchasing a whole new system for $6-7K but only if I agreed to it that night! I had a friend of a friend come out today who said my compressor is completely fine and I just have a tiny leak on my indoor coil that his detector barely registered. It only cost me $300 for him to diagnosis and recharge my system. So unless you’re the type of person who gets a nail in your tire and replaces your whole car...do not use them!!!

My 28 year old heating system went kaput on the coldest night of this year and thanks to Horizon Services and specifically to service technician Andres Hoyos my family will be warm this fall and winter. His repairs will also help reduce my electric bills in both heating and air conditioning I didn’t realize just how bad my system was failing. Andres was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and determined to find and correct my systems problems. He did so in one day at a very reasonable price. It’s great that you can still find a company and employees that are so devoted to doing a quality job. Signed on to their Priority Partner Plan to maintain my older system. Thanks again Horizon.
I used Horizon last year for my AC tune ups, I have 2 units. When the Horizon technician came to my house, he spent 20 minutes trying to upsell me on service plans, etc. . I was turned off by how salesy he was, I called for a technician, not a sales guy.He told me I had a freon leak and they could replace my unit or fill it with freon with no guarantee how long it would last. I opted for the freon for $300.00 as opposed to a new unit, cot $4,000.00. I had my ACs tuned up by another company this year (because the technician was more like a sales guy and I didn't like the experience) and no leak found, both units reported working fine. In addition, we've never felt the house being too hot or the air not working either.I researched the reviews for Horizon before I called them and was really surprised by the experience I had. It's a shame, I felt I was taken advantage of and I threw $300 out the window.
Matt Friedenberg was extremely knowledgeable, personable and efficient during his visit. He quickly identified where my heating system was failing and provided a short-term fix while awaiting parts for a permanent solution. He comes across as being very honest and interested in the best interests of the customer.
Horizon Services did a great job installing my new heat pump. I would definitely recommend them.

Had to unexpectedly replace my hvac. From the initial service call to the technicians installing the unit, everyone did an awesome job. Josh#1, Josh#2, Adam (and his coworker, I didn't catch his name). I had my inital service call on Wed, consult appt on Friday, and installation on Sat (4th of July). John was extremely informative and went out of his way to go over my entire system.If I need Horizon, he is who I ask for.
I will never use Horizon again after our experience with their HVAC team. I booked an appointment for a smart thermostat installation in January. The technician that came out messed with the wiring for a while on our indoor units and thermostat, and, after a couple hours, ultimately came to the conclusion that our smart thermostat was broken. The regular thermostat that had been installed worked with the heat, so he suggested we order a new thermostat and install it ourselves. When he left, the regular thermostat remained in use. This part was fine, as the wiring was supposed to be set up to make it simple to put a new smart thermostat on and saves us money to buy it elsewhere. So, we buy a brand new smart thermostat and install it, still working fine with the heat. However, we have discovered in the warmer months that the A/C unit outside would not kick on. The indoor unit would run, the thermostat (we tested both the smart and regular thermostat) registered that it was trying to cool the house, but the outdoor unit just wouldn't cooperate. My husband suspected this was a wiring issue near the indoor unit, as the outdoor unit had power running to it, is less than 1 year old, and the thermostat wiring was correct. We decided to go with a different company to see what the issue was. The other company diagnosed and corrected the issue in less than an hour, and verified that the thermostat wiring was correct and the wiring by the indoor unit was not. The technician from Horizon came out here and messed up the wiring and left us without A/C and without the working smart thermostat. I'm starting to wonder if our initial smart thermostat was not broken, and if we spent $200 on a new one for no reason AND we paid Horizon $300 to come out here, only for them to mess up what was working correctly before they got here.TL;DR- We spent a total of $500 for Horizon to simply install a smart thermostat on a perfectly working, brand new HVAC system, and were left with no smart thermostat and no A/C. We spent $500 to have someone come out and mess up our HVAC system and then had to pay a different company to come fix it.

We fortunately chose Horizon for our Furnace replacement and A/C services. The service received was exceptional .Starting with Jonathan Radulski as our sales consultant to the one and only Joe Mistretta (God of all things for Customer service) went very very well . Bob and Kerry from Wertz completed the chimney insert very professionally .Shout out to the TEAM JM5 from Horizon services for a job very well done and with minimum intrusion into our daily life. Joe Mistretta and his team is really a blessing to the company and he is one reason i might chose your company for my other services in the future.P.S. The installation manager from Horizon is an MIA and refused to even acknowledge repeated calls due to service disruption caused by the installation manager. He just refuses to talk to clients. Was really disappointed with the support the excellent floor team of Jonathan and Joe were getting from the installation manager in the office.I believe and will recommend this company for there services as long as you do not have to deal with their office .
My Service Technician did an outstanding job of diagnosing and repairing my heat pump. He explained what was wrong and what he had to do to make the repair. I could not of been more happier with my service.

Shawn diagonsed and fixed a heating problem that a previous (now fired) company was unable to accomplish. Horizon Services consistently provides excellent service from prompt scheduling through job completion. Dave was so patient explaining all work performed and future needs.
If possible, I would give NO stars at all. The Company charges $79.50 to come and inspect your air-conditioning. They give you coupons to discount repair charges by 40 to 80 Dollars. The guy asked me to pay $266 for a Dual Run Capacitor, which had failed in my external unit and said I need to replace the Fan, which will cost me another $1100. I said NO way and replaced the Cap myself which costed me $5.67. Now you know, how they rip you along with nice catchy coupons. You may be better off with small handyman, who would fix the stuff for a lot less.

Jonathan did an excellent job installing an under counter sink in our bathroom. I have no complaint what-so-ever about his work! We had the replacement sink, so all we needed was installation. My reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the fact that the initial quote for the job was VERY high. We did not accept that quote and he went out to talk with someone in the office. He came back with a price of almost $200 less for the job. I do not appreciate when businesses play this game. The original price quote should have been their best and fairest price for the work.
Installed new humidifier. Went over and beyond as the area to install was a tight corner! Professional experience. Highly satisfied customer. Horizon is wonderful to work with.

You would think I got paid to say that but it’s just refreshing to deal with a company that really takes customer satisfaction seriously. Matthew is the latest technician to provide outstanding customer service and workmanship. A++Update: Make that 4 years and counting. Still providing A+ service with the latest visit from Andres. I received a notice on my phone of a problem with my heating system at 1:30 PM on Sunday (Christmas Eve). After checking a few things I called Horizon. Tech was there by 2:30 and was able to quickly solve my problem. With a house full of guests I did not need a problem and Horizon solver it quickly and professionally...and everything was covered under warranty. Wow.

Used Horizon for the instal of our new HVAC unit and furnice. Setting up an apartment online to get an estimate was very easy. The salesperson and the Installers where very responsive and respectful of our space. Horizon gets one star bc of poor responsiveness after the sale and initial installation. When the installers left, I was told that someone would return with a piece of copper tubing to finish hooking up my humidifier. I have called 3 times and have not heard back. I cannot run my humidifier without it. Even a call back to explain the delay would be better than no repsonse. We are 3 weeks out from initial instal at time of this review.

We had a utility/sink drain back up into living space on a Friday evening and we couldn't get it to stop. I called Horizon, as their advertising indicates that situations like this are addressed right away. The scheduler informed me that the next available appointment was 4 days later. I reiterated that this was an active and unhealthy emergency and the response was that no one was available for 4 days. Doesn't sound like a quick response to me. I called one of their competitors and got an appointment for the next morning. Still had to bail water for a few more hours, but at least not for 4 days. Bad Form, Horizon, Bad form.

Horizon worked out a new water heater fast and with a very helpful and kind technician. We had a good experience before with Horizon for the AC, but we are happy to say that we will contact them again for any water heating problem too.
I am way beyond WOW on how awesome this company is ran and how respectful and friendly the employers are!! They are working on installing our brand newly built furnace and air conditioner as I am typing now!! We made one phone call which led to a two day talk and installation process, just TWO days!! They were up front with cost and the entirety of what they are going to be doing. These guys are so easy to talk to and very friendly and helped us beyond what they had to do!! They worked all day into the night until they were completely done and had explained absolutely everything 100 percent to my understanding. They came across a problem with C02 with our water heater also and we have someone out the very next morning to take care of it!! They came in and made sure everything was completely finished and ran perfectly before they left. The guys cleaned up all their trash and extra parts as promised. I would recommend them to anyone who is in need for any new furnace/air conditioner or plumbing needs!! Thank you Horizon for being more than what you were already hyped up to be!! I am one Happy and completely satisfied customer!! I can't thank you enough!!

Our technician was Deshaun Logwood. We called for service due to the A/C unit on our second floor not working. Deshaun was beyond punctual as we were given a time frame of 2-6pm on today, a Sunday, and he was here by 11:30am. Once Deshaun was here, he was able to identify the problem within a few minutes. Once he told us the issue and we decided to move forward with the repair the job was completed within the hour. Deshaun was very polite and was able to explain the problem in easy to understand terms and was able to show us what the problem was.

The best service I've ever had! I made my appointment with ease, I realized I would be running behind to be there and had the best customer service experience! The dispatcher was so nice and they were able to accommodate me due to my circumstances. I didn't think it could get any better but then I met Kevin!! Just wow he was sooo nice a knowledgeable. He had me laughing the whole time and he walked me through each step. He was on time and he got the job done quickly. He even cleaned up when he was finished. Kevin was the absolute best!!!!

I had a furnace tune-up done by a Horizon technician. The work was performed in a professional manner by a skilled and friendly technician. I have used Horizon in the past for other HVAC service/repairs and have always been more than satisfied with the quality of their work.
Thursday my AC went out, Friday they came out to check it. It was bad news. A 15 year old system that went kaput. Jay the salesperson came on Sunday and he was wonderful. On Tuesday the most amazing technicians spent an entire day installing a new system. Much thanks for taking care of my home and treating it as if it was their own. I hope if this happens to you , the techs that are assigned to your home are Reggie, Corey and Tyrone. Tyrone walked me through the new installation equipment and the new thermostat. Everyone answered my questions and we are cooler and better for it. Again, an extra shout out to Tyrone and Reggie.

What an amazing annual AC maintenance service from the wonderful customer service call to verify my appointment to the serviceman showing up and working on our unit. Shawn answered all my question and this made me remember this company because of all the companies I've hired companies before for our annual AC maintenance and this was the first time a company explained their process of checking our system. I will be calling back for our Fall heat maintenance. 5 Star Service from start to finish. I highly recommend them.
First time using Horizon and must say that service from the first initial phone call to the company was well above other company's we have tried in the past. Second technician karl was excellent from start to finish. Everything was straight forward pricing was average with other companies. We used a competing company in the past to service and maintain our unit. Due to some issues, I switched to Horizon last year and purchased their PM package. For this visit, Andres arrived to perform just a routine PM. He was professional and respectful of our home. What impressed me greatly was his knowledge. He clearly studied our history and gave tips and tricks for a long standing issue we have experienced with temperature variances between floors. Andres offered multiple suggestions on how to potentially address this without spending a ton of money.Andres also informed us of the air purification side of the business which is something we were not aware of that Horizon did. With Covid and the fact that my Mother who lives with me is a severe asthmatic and suffers from COPD (never smoked in her life), we were very interested in this. I’m essence, a UV light is installed in the ductwork that helps sanitize and deodorize the air. Andres gave us multiple suggestions on how to best use this (continuous fan or not). Jury is still out on if we can feel anything different but it’s only been a few hours. While installing, he also identified a major source of air escaping from the duct that we would have never known about. He took the time to seal the area well.I trust Horizon to offer fair and honest pricing, qualified technicians that do not try to rip you off and services that prolong the life of our HVAC unit. Andres is a great technician and I would highly recommend him.

As soon as they came they noticed the age of my air conditioner and instead of fixing it started telling me to replace the unit. I am very disappointed with the service.
Couldn't be happier that I hear these guys on the radio all day and tried them out, my a/c cut off around 10:30pm on 7/20/2017, they had a tech to me by 1:30am, His name was Daniel C. and he was EXTREMELY professional and a pleasure to deal with as was the dispatch lady who took my call, He explained everything he was doing and allowed for me to pepper him with questions about my system while in the past others just wanted me to leave them alone (I want to know as much as possible about my system), when they say they come stocked for any job that is no exaggeration this guy had it all, he took his time and made sure everything was good to go before leaving the job, 5 stars is no justice to the service I received! Thank you guys and should I need service in the future you are my first call - Update: I had to have a call back but wasn't really something that was there fault but more of an unforeseen issue, they came back out and fixed at no cost of course and things once again are working wonderfully
I had some scheduling issues at first with Horizon. They originally lost my appointment and never called me back. Once I got that resolved, Dan showed up promptly, professional, friendly and took care of my repairs quickly while explaining everything he was doing and what was wrong. I would definitely recommend Horizon.
Scheduled an apt online for the following morning. Got a call almost immediately that they could get me in that evening if I wanted to. Steve showed up on time and was wonderful to work with. Couldnt fix it that night, but promised to come back the next day with the correct part and even found us some discounts.

Mike was the plumber that we had and he was excellent. He kept me informed all along regarding the work he had to do. Mike is very smart and knowledgeable and he is always on time! He goes above and beyond and he won't give up until the job is done correctly! Mike is really something else.

Many companies promise same day service but change their tune when called, not Horizon! Horizon delivered same day service for my broken hot water heater. I was offered several options, including changing the layout of my laundry room to afford more space. Robert Whitley was professional and courteous. We use Horizon for our annual AC service as well. Completely satisfied with the work and price.
The install crew did a great job with the new furnace installation. The attention to detail and the thorough job to rewire from the breaker panel to the furnace to bring that part of my house up to code was much appreciated. I am also very thankful that all the additional safety switches were included with the install.
I appreciated the salesman’s/consultant’s product knowledge and ability to explain so well. I ended up purchasing a new furnace. Not cheap! However I don’t tend to go with the cheapest items for my home. I was very impressed by the installation team’s attention to detail and craftsmanship. I wish i had taken a before and after pic of system thats how different it looks! They also cleaned up very well. I am very pleased with Horizon

Horizon Services, particularly my technician Ben, provided exceptional service to me when my heat went out. My heat went out late on a Friday and they were here by 8:15 Saturday morning. Ben was very thorough, explained all of my options to me, and my house was warm when he left.
It was raining in my kitchen and Horizon Services saved the day!!! The technician that came out was very professional and he explained everything in detail. The work was of the highest quality. I would highly recommend Horizon services to everyone.

6/30/20. I just had my new HVAC installed by Steven Schubert and his partner. My local neighbor has been my AC technician for over 10 years unfortunately he retired and is probably in Florida by now. Found these guys in the neighborhood with their trucks and decided to call them late Sunday night. Estimate, financing and HVAC all completed within 2 business days. Great HVAC service so far and I am keeping cool. And Steven played my favorite country music from Colorado.

My technician Jada was absolutely amazing! He was polite and very knowledgeable about my plumbing repair. He was also extremely polite. We appreciate his service.
The technician who came to our home in Kingsville, MD was Oliver. Not only was he extremely professional but went above and beyond! He came for our annual AC check up and when we mentioned an ongoing concern that was not addressed to a prior service check, he was more than happy to investigate. We were told it was the damper. A very annoying sound that just did not sound right, it has been a clanking/squeaking sound for over a year and a half when the heating or AC powered down. Oliver listened, removed the cover, and practically crawled into the heating/AC unit to discover a wheel was loose and about to break off. After diagnosing the issue, he fixed the broken part. We are sure this will prevent major problems in the future. Exceptional Technician, Exceptional Service!

Customer Service took my information and entered into their system and explained the service charge and proceeded to set up a time/date to come out. But I insisted for the same day service so I was switch to another operator who handled same day appointments. The new operator picks up the line and states We DO NOT SERVICE THE CITY and disconnects the line. Rude
They quoted me over $900 for a pedestal sink basin replacement. I just had the sink replaced by another company for $234. Completely outrageous! Don't waste your money.
They have deceptive business practices. They send me several mailings that I can get free plumbing inspection but when I called them, they denied owning the mailing and said that they will charge me if they send dispatch to my address. Here’s the add they sent me. Very deceptive!!
My experience with Horizon has been second to none over the years. I am always at peace knowing that technicians are always a phone call away, even very late at night. I have elected not to search elsewhere for services provided by Horizon and will enthusiastically recommend such to friends and others whenever the opportunity arises. Kudos go to the entire Horizon staff, particularly the call receivers and dispatchers and indeed the technicians, who are always extremely pleasant.

David did an excellent job of replacing my entire HVAC unit. After the job was complete he explained to me how to maintain the condensation drain/pump, air filter and Humidifier. Enjoying my new indoor climate and lower energy bills.

While their prices are not the lowest their customer service, quality of install, and 12 years parts and labor are unmatched in this area. I had a full heatpump system replaced and the installers did a great job fitting everything into my somewhat snug hvac closet. During the install I also called horizon to have a inside shutoff valve replaced. They had a plumber to my house within 2 hours and he did great work. I have used them for a few years for my hvac service but I am definitely using them in the future for their other services.
Bryan Livingston arrived quickly on a Sunday morning after we discovered a broken and leaking PVC connection in the trap under the bathroom sink. He replaced the PVC trap system, and at our request also replaced the cut off valves, water supply lines and replaced the valves in the faucets. All this was completed by 11:30 a.m. Service was polite, clean and efficient, as advertised.

Have used Horizon Services for my Heating, A/C and Hot water tank repair needs. Jovan Simpkins is an awesome professional, an is skilled at doing his job and getting the job done well. I asked for him for my HVAC service needs and he was excellent, he fixed the issues and I haven't had any problems.
Fantastic plumber. Tim did a great job on a very difficult faucet replacement. Old one was corroded and needed quite a bit of work to remove.
