KP Plumbing & Drains LLC Plumber
By far the best plumbing company I have ever dealt with. Not only are they very personable, but very honest and work with integrity. They worked tirelessly to fix a shower leak we had. They explained the issue thoroughly to me and helped me understand. They also were very respectful to my house (they wore shoe booties) and cleaned up when they were done. I 100% trust them if I ever have an issue, again.

I gave them a second star because they responded quickly and the technician was polite, here is why I didn’t give them the other 3 stars. I called because my sewer line was backed up, I wish I could say that this was the first time, but I’ve been down this road before. I had the clean out area ready so all the tech had to do was open it and run his snake. The tech quoted me $85 for the service which I agreed to. After running his snake I noticed the standing water in my garage did not go away. The tech went to his truck and retrieved a nifty tool, similar to a metal detector, and traced the sewer line to the street. Apparently it uses some sort of sonar to find the clog. The tech comes to me and explains that my clog is about 110 feet out(turns out it’s 103 feet out) and his snake only goes out 100 feet and that he doesn’t have the attachment to go any further on his truck and that he or anyone from the company won’t be able to come back until Monday(this is Friday) and that when he comes back Monday, because it’s over 100 feet the charge goes from $85 to $385(I may be off on the exact amount , it was over $300) I’m admittedly agitated at this news as the reason I went with this company in the first place was that they were able to come out today, the thought of my 5 person household not being able to shower, flush a toilet or wash dishes for 3 days was less than appealing, and now I’m being told it’s going to cost me an additional $385, but I told him I understood and that I’d see him Monday. That’s when he asked for the $85 payment. Now I’m getting upset, you did nothing to fix my problem and you want to get paid. I then asked if the $85 will be deducted from the $385 that I’ll be charged Monday. He responded “no, Monday will be an additional $385. “ I told him “so you’re telling me because you didn’t bring the right tools to do the job, not only do I have to wait 3 additional days but I’m also being charged $85.” He replied “it’s not because I didn’t come prepared” I pointed out that he had just explained to me that he didn’t have the appropriate attachment to extend his snake which was the reason he had to return Monday and that because the clog was 10 feet further I’d have to pay an additional $385. I paid the man and called another company who did the job the same day and informed me the clog was at 103 feet. $385 for 3 additional feet, that’s more than $100 per foot. Because of this experience, In the future, they will not be my first choice. In their response to my review, instead of a simple apology, they claimed they did 3 hours of work (he was there for 1 hour)and that I failed to cancel my appointment for Monday, attached is the screenshot of my text to them letting them know I texted and called (left a voicemail) to cancel.Because of their unprofessional response combined with the lie to justify their position, not only will they not be my 1st choice, they will not be a choice at all.

Pierpoint Plumbing Kansas City MO Plumber
**Update: Pierpoint reached out and apologized for the mishap and made it right with me. Updating score to reflect my satisfaction, appreciate the transparency and such.**

I had Pierpoint come out and give me a quote for three issues, needed a new outdoor spigot, pressure release valve, and a water shut off in the crawl space.

Quote went fine, I called a week or so later to schedule someone to come out. Day of my appointment, guy shows up and asks what we're doing. Tell him about the three issues above, says he doesn't have a spigot on hand and will need to run to the store. He's gone for an hour, not the end of the world but comes back and gets to it. He comes and gets me when he's done, tells me about how a pipe in my crawlspace is disconnected and someone will reach out to give me a quote since that's not his job, I pay and he leaves.

I decide to check on the water shut off as I was about to go on vacation and turns out they didn't install the shut off, only the pressure release valve. I call back and ask if they can come back out and install the shut off as well as give me the quote for the disconnected pipe. Lady on the phone is nice and says they'll have the same guy come out and install it and have the quote guy come at the same time.

Next day, guy does show up and fix the issue but the guy who was supposed to give me a quote for the disconnected pipe never shows up. No explanation or reschedule either.

Ended up calling someone else (John from Superior Plumbing KC) who came out day-of and fixed the pipe in less than 30 minutes, so I'm not really sure why Pierpoint needed to have another person come out and give me a quote when it was an easy fix.

Overall they did what I paid them to do, but communication was poor and I'm not a fan of how they seemingly were fine with letting my pipe stay disconnected down there dumping water/waste.

Essary Plumbing Inc. Plumber
Essary Plumbing was really put to the test with our plumbing issue and they passed with flying colors! These guys are the best! They came to find the blockage in our pipes, using a camera to see what the problem was. It looked like one thing, so they pushed with two different pieces of equipment (making two trips in one day!), but the clog wouldn't budge. Acid was the next thing to try, but it wouldn't dissolve the clog, so the only option left was to cut my wall and the pipe (cast iron) to remove the clog. They did and they took great care with my house and its contents, covering things with plastic, cutting the smallest space possible in the wall and removing the clog (a dead squirrel, the first they'd ever seen in 75+ years of combined plumbing experience!). They replaced the pipe and my issue was solved. Best of all, they took the squirrel with them when they left! They really cared about my issue, working late, making several trips, and even coming in on a Saturday to work on my clog because they knew we were inconvenienced by this clog. This was the first time I'd used Essary; they were recommended to me by my regular plumber because of their camera, but I'd recommend them to anyone for any plumbing issue. They are friendly, clean, very knowledgeable, and work hard. They care about your problem and take good care of your home. And if they can figure out a dead squirrel climbed down my vent pipe and got into my cast iron plumbing pipe and get that disgusting thing out, I imagine they can handle about anything else.

Hunt Plumbing Co., Inc. Plumber
They pulled out toilet to fix the drain. They splattered my walls with sewage, tore up a piece of molding and spread the wax ring all over my floor and carpet. They also scraped he rest of the wax ring from their boots or something on the brick planter in my backyard. I learned that when I sat down on it. They did take money off my bill but my house was just remodeled and the damage and 2 hours we spent cleaning up after them was ridiculous. The owner told us that Mr. clean would remove the stains but it didn't. The bathroom will have to be repainted and a piece of trim replaced. It will cost more than they took off of the bill.
