Best Kitchen Remodeling Project in Phoenix AZ

My wife and I purchased our Home, a Midcentury Modern built in 1955 by Ralph Haver in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. The Home had original ungrounded wiring with exposed wire splicing. There were also two rooms that were added by a previous owner without permits.

Ultimately, we wanted to fully restore our Home to its original character, while at the same time, installing all of the safety, amenities and conveniences found in homes of new construction today.

We interviewed a handful of contactors for this task, Steve Shinn from Homework Remodels being one of them. Steve immediately stood out from the group. We found him easy to talk to, prompt and extremely knowledgeable with the historic characteristics of our Haver Home.

With Steve’s help, we nearly rebuilt most of the major components of our Home. When it was said and done, we upgraded the entire wiring and electric panel, installed new HVAC main unit and ducting lines, replaced all of the plumbing lines (both supply and drain lines including the sewer), installed LED recessed lighting throughout the Home, constructed a stem wall, a trench drain and added mini split HVAC units which the City required for issuing permits for the two unpermitted rooms, installed a 16” slider to the backyard, utilized steel beams to remove loan bearing walls in order to open up the kitchen and the living rooms, installed a tankless water heater system, applied sprayed insulation in the small attic, and performed various other upgrades.

We are very happy with Steve’s work. We found Steve’s work to be of high quality and found Steve’s expertise and creativity in helping rebuild our Haver Home to be invaluable.

We plan on hiring Steve in the near future to complete Phase 2 of our Home, which will include all of the finishes.

Amazing experience with Phoenix Home Remodeling. We bought a home and needed to have it completely remodeled. We remodeled the kitchen, 2 bathrooms, knocked thru 2 walls to add pass thrus, added a huge linen closet and turned empty space into a closet. We got multiple quotes and PHR was not only most professional but their prices were reasonable. Jake was an amazing first contact. He had great ideas and having had years of contract experience he knew what was possible. I told them about my timeline and they were so accommodating to get it done on time. They were excellent at communication and ensuring things were done the way we liked and giving suggestions along the way. Their work was top notch! They did the little detail oriented things and it is so appreciated. The end result was absolutely perfect! Ben was an incredible project manager. Mark, Aaron, Steve, Brandon, Garon were all incredibly skilled, detailed, accommodating, courteous, professional and timely! I can't say enough good things about this company! You will not be disappointed if you hire them!

Great place to work and shop ?

Everyone I worked with from the beginning to end was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Matthew Hawkins did a great job of helping me design my perfect dream shower that would meet all my needs and not have anything I didn't really need. Shane Whitmore ensured everything I chose would work out as needed and kept me in the loop on the process. Lyle and William did a great job installing my shower and making sure everything was placed as I wanted. They worked hard with my shower being on the third floor and kept everything neat and clean when they left. I definitely plan to use Dreamstyle again when I am ready to replace my other shower.

Todd Whittaker Drywall Inc. recently finished a project on our home. We had drywall, trim carpentry,and painting performed. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. The craftsmen are professionals. The Superintendent made sure the project was completed at proposed timeframe. We are very pleased with how everything looks. Thank you.

We chose Kitchens By Good Guys to remodel our AZ home. This included the kitchen, master and guest bathrooms, re-pipe plumbing, new flooring, and new paint throughout the home. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice. I can't say enough about their fantastic team! Emily and Simone helped us make design choices for the house and were extremely easy to work with. They went out of their way to find what we were looking for! As far as the remodel itself, we were out of town while it was taking place. Still, everything went better than we could have imagined. Just remodel was at the Home Show and I gave him my number for a free in home estimate. He came out in 2 weeks and took measurements and said he would send me an estimate in about 2 weeks. After a month had gone by, I hadn't heard from Don Houghs. (The owner) I left him a few voicemails and heard nothing. 2 months later I received a text message saying he had withdrawn from the bidding process. When I asked why, he said he was too busy to take on my job. After 2 months? Didn't even have the courtesy to call me and speak with me. Just a text. I wouldn't use this company ever again. Very unprofessional....

We had all of our countertops done – kitchen and 3 bathroom vanities. The installers, Jaime and Brad went the extra mile to make sure that everything came out perfectly. The new kitchen counter overlaid the old one. The bathroom vanities were full replacement of the old countertops. They worked fast and always cleaned up very well. All of the project came out beautiful, thanks to their attention to detail.
