We purchased a home built in 1904. The first item of business was updating all electrical to code, some of it was still knob and tube. I called a couple places and initially was not greeted favorably when I explained our needs. Charlie was completely different. He showed up, explained what needed to be done, followed up with estimates, and his crew who spent almost 2 weeks updating our home was very communicative and professional. We will definitely use them again.

DIY basement renovation except for electric, which I don't DIY. :-) Got a quote from Mr. Electric and it was $5K for basic tasks (run electric lines to new lights, receptacles and switches, correct some code-related issues with previous owners' janky/dangerous wiring, install a whole-house surge protector, etc.). Lo and behold, we discover our estimator from Mr. Electric was on commission -- so it was no surprise when Jason from Big City came out and quoted us the work that we actually needed to have done at half the price. All the recommendations Jason made for our project were spot-on -- he could have gouged and up-sold us, but he helped us achieve our vision for the least amount of cost possible. That's the mark of a true professional, and what seals the deal for us as customers.
