Rating Buckeye Electric is difficult because there are two different components. The electricians are top notch. They are very courteous and perform high quality work. I would rate them a 5. The management, however, needs vastly improved. Twice, no one showed up when scheduled. I totally understand projects take longer than expected. What is not understandable is no one from the company contacted me. After the first time, I would have thought they would have been more responsive, but they were not. No one contacted me when they did not show up the second time. There was never any conversation about what could be done to ensure that the customer was happy and would be a repeat customer. Despite the outstanding work the electricians performed, I doubt I will use them again due to how the company treats its customers.
Didn’t need to schedule far out for the estimate and during estimate ended up figuring out one of the problems and fixed it quickly then and there and for a very fair price. Hope the other estimates come back good and we can use them again.
Update: Super fair pricing and wonderful service. They came back with an estimate and were able to schedule the work quickly and easily. Edgar and his coworker both did the estimate and the actual work so they knew what we wanted and did exactly that! They are efficient, nice and polite young men. I am so impressed by their work and will use Buckeye for any future electrical needs.
I will look elsewhere next time. The quality of work did not meet my expectations as seen in the pictures. Over cut drywall, stripped screws, cracked switch, light fixtures and switch covers not flush, found pieces of grounding wire and fiberglass in each of the rooms. In the 8 hours they were here, they did not finish two of six requested items on the quote.

Owner: You were notified that you would or may need drywall repair after installation, as you admitted in your call to me. You mentioned no other issues with the installation. We gladly fix any issues and warranty all of our work. We service over 800 customers per years so yes, mistakes happen, and once we are aware of the issue we will gladly make any repairs - As you notice from our many 5 star reviews, we do great work, however every once in a while we run into a difficult situation. I suggest reaching out to the office instead of google. Job was completed on 2/12/21. Im curious why you wait till 3/8 to post a review, and why you mentioned nothing about a broken switch or any other issues when you called me about the drywall. Please make sure you get out and enjoy the warm weather!

Thank you for the reply. You are correct. A week later during our phone call you did mention that drywall repair may be needed after installation. It is my mistake for assuming that it wouldn't be for careless workmanship.
I am sure that you and your employees are capable of great work, but this was not an example of that.
From the time I accepted the quote to install complete was about 2 days. I put off the installation for a long time since the previous owner of my home drywalled around our electrical panel. Buckeye Electric found a unique solution with minimal drywall alterations. I was completely blown away after they left and really wish I called years ago.

TLDR: Buckeye Electric of Upper Arlington (BEUA) fulfilled our electrical needs quickly and thoroughly. By far the best quote we received for the work. Inspection passed with flying colors. Would recommend using them.
Our home inspector mentioned we should think about upgrading our panel for safety reasons. Our former panel was a Pushmatic 150AMP panel, which, if you look up info on them, it’s not great. We wanTed to replace that panel and upgrade to 200AMP service and have fan installed in our master bedroom.
I did not grow up in the Columbus area, so I had no idea who to contact for electrical work or what to expect to pay. My father worked construction his whole life and had many connections. I asked him to reach out to his electrician friend back home to get an idea about what to expect for the cost of the work (this quote I could trust).
After hearing back from my father’s electrician, I set out calling/emailing numerous Columbus area based electrical companies for visits. I received multiple quotes, all varying in price. BEUA was very close to the quote my father’s electrician told me. I knew I could trust that they weren’t over charging and gave an honest quote.
BEUA came out the following week and replaced the panel and installed the ceiling fan over the course of two days. Panel was replaced on day one and took a few hours. Tony and Tommy did the install, and were very informative as to what was happening and when power was being disconnecTed and reconnecTed.
During the ceiling fan install, Tony informed us that the down rods we purchased didn’t fit the fans we purchased, so my wife made an impromptu visit to ‘Orange Big Box Store’ to exchange the fans. This was really the only hiccup and was our own fault. We ordered the fans and downrods on our own, and didn’t realize downrods weren’t universal…
I would recommend using BEUA if you have any electrical needs. Thank you to everyone at Buckeye Electric of Upper Arlington!
P.S. Always get multiple quotes as we found out one ‘highly raTed’ company quoTed us the work would cost over 3x more than what my father’s electrician would have charged us.

Called for a quote for my grandma and Papaw. Everything went well. They said if they like the quote they can preform the service that day. Excellent! They're old and resistant to want to spend money but always do at the end and I saw the awesome ratings! Unfortunately no one showed up for the appointment and no one called. Just please give out courtesy phone calls because they planned their whole day around that. It's to set up their ring cameras because they wouldnt be able to defend themselves if anything were to happen. They attempted to call but got a voicemail. Which is fine but it's the next day and still haven't heard back.

I called for after hours service (7:30 PM) and Dan arrived in an hour to swap out a worn our breaker to get us back up and running again. I called another place, and their after-hours service charge was MORE than my total bill with Buckeye Electric that included the visit and the work.

I get that other calls may be “more important” but I took time off work to get my issue resolved. Very unprofessional.
Edit: You should just get rid of your online appointments entirely then. It makes no sense. I would have appreciated any sort of communication from you and your team. My point stands. Maybe don’t send emails saying the “job has been scheduled.”

Be using Dan and his team for sometime now. They did a room addition for me. Wiring, fixtures, panel and such. Price was right in the ballpark and on schedule. I have worked with Dan for over 30 years on projects and he is always the first person I call. Sometimes he may not have time but I definitely give him the first option to bid. I am very happy with the service provided! First their scheduling system was super easy. I did it all online and my appointment was confirmed via text. Second, I reached out on a Friday and had someone here first thing Monday morning! Third, they showed up and got the work done same day. They were very professional and great to work with. Buckeye electric called me back to help me understand how I incorrectly wired my GFCI outlet. Apparently the wires supplying the power go to line screws on the new outlet. There's 4 screws. 2 line and 2 load screws. The outlet didn't work because I had them on the 2 load screws but the green indicator light was lite indicating the outlet had power but didn't work. It does now that I have them on the line screws. When we got off the phone he said Merry Christmas no charge. I'd recommend Buckeye for all your electric needs!

We had this company come out to run electric to a new outdoor kitchen island we had installed. 10 days after they installed it we no longer had power. It took MULTIPLE attempts to get in touch with them over a two week period before they finally responded that they were unwilling to help. When pressed further, they agreed to come out and take a look at the problem, only to blame it on another contractor (whose work was completed before the electric stopped working). They said they took before and after photos to be able to prove they completed their work appropriately, but refused to provide said pictures and went silent. Completely unreliable and unprofessional company, as you can see by their childish responses to any unhappy customer review.

Was able to get them schedule in the morning for an appointment later the same day. They were able to fix an outlet that wasn’t wired properly; in and out under 45 minutes! Techs wore shoe covers and masks without being asked!

We basically had all of the electrical, which was mostly original, updated throughout our 1920s home. We were very pleased with not just the quality of work but also the professionalism of the entire team and their level of communication. We will use them again in the future.
We were very excited and thankful to work with the team of Buckeye Electric to install our NEMA 14-50 outlet for our Tesla charger. I knew going into the project it wouldn’t be easy, and I was nervous about how expensive it was going to be — the distance from my basement circuit breaker to where my car gets parked is over 50 ft and would require a significant amount of trenching. But the team took the project head on and made it happen at an affordable price. These are good people and a pleasure to work with. Professional, on time, and considerate (they put on shoe covers when they came into the house without having to be instructed to do so). We will be using them for all of our future electrical needs and 10/10 would recommend them to anyone looking to install a EV charging system.
Buckeye did great work. Had them replace a few light fixtures and install some new fixtures and receptacles. Not only was the price good, but they were responsive during the quoting and scheduling process.

I schedules two appointments. First one they didn't show up as he said the technicians don't want to work past 3:30 cuz it's Friday (even though appointment was scheduled between 3-4) and second time just didn't bother showing up or offer explanation or apology. And from the reactions of the business owner to the comments here I can see that he is not professional nor stoic, the way he will probably react to this review as well.

They came in, ran new wires, installed a new switch, 3 ceiling cans and were out in about 2.5 hours. Anthony may look young, but he knows his stuff!! I asked him a few questions so I could be a little bit more educated - was kind enough to show me a few things. Definitely recommend and I definitely will use them again!! Kind, professional and work is done perfectly!

They came out and gave a quote for free, thoroughly discussed the project and we're open to any questions I had.
On the day of the work, they we're meticulous about the layout of the recessed lights and worked diligently to complete the work in a day. Their efforts resulted in minimal drywall repairs and looked great when completed.
I look forward to having them out for the next project.
I called 5 different companies and had varying experiences with regard to responsiveness, availability and cost. Buckeye exceeded my expectations from my very first interaction. On the day of service they were right on time, friendly and and worked quickly. I would call them again without hesitation the next time I need something done!

I texted the message service the company uses for a quote and Dan texted me back with the estimate in 15 minutes just like they say on their website. The estimate was very reasonable and the time frame was great.
I accepted the estimate and Dan actually texted me back and said they could come out the same day because of a cancelation.
Anthony came out in about a hour and completed the job as promised and did a outstanding job. Was very nice and courteous and knew exactly what was needed.
Definitely will use again. I will not use anyone else.

After having a guy come do an estimate, I cannot get anyone to call, text or email back to set up a time to simply answer a question or possibly ever do any repairs. Why take time for an estimate if you don't follow up at all or want work? The job would have been over a thousand, so not just a tiny one outlet not worth the time. Very frustrating when needing work done to have wasted this time trusting they'd follow through. I'd steer clear of this company. There are much more reliable electricians to hire. I am trying very hard to assist my 92 year old father to repair needed items at his home. He thought since this company is directly across the street from his home they'd offer him good and fair service.
EDIT...They say I should be patient due to their scheduling issues due to Covid. I wasn't even trying to get on the schedule. I had one question...one small question needing clarification. We're all slammed due to a crazy past year...I'm totally understanding of that but it's still very easy to offer kind, courteous follow up.
They did an estimate for the wrong item. I think. I asked how much to repair an outside outlet and the estimate shows how much it is to remove it all together. I was curious if it cannot be repaired or it was mistakenly written up as a removal. Their email said if I had any questions to feel free to ask. I did. But now being told I somehow came at them in some dangerous manner?? I sat quietly and chatted with Anthony's assistant while Anthony looked at the items needing repairs. I chatted about the schooling and apprenticing aspect of getting into electrician work and I'm sure both of them can attest to my friendliness versus saying I am dangerous. As for the rude blanket comment about Realtors (who give plenty of business to contractors and most are just nice people doing a job and are also slammed for time like this guy), there's no reason to say this simply because of what I do for a job. This is my dad's home and I'm his daughter. I was at the home as his kid... helping an elderly parent.
I've read the other 1 star reviews for Daniel Hawk, the owner, on BBB, Yelp, Angies List, Google, etc saying this is how many others have been treated as well. I should have read those first. My father saw he lived right across the street, so set this up for his repairs. Now I even saw that he was previously on ABC6onyourside for taking money from clients and not completing work. Yikes. I had no idea of who I was unfortunately dealing with. Its sad scammers are all around us these days.
Bottom line, if you start working with a person by giving them an estimate, you've then engaged them as a customer and owe them a bit of service, if only in the smallest of ways. Just to be honest, courteous and kind is enough. If you're slammed and cannot book until August, just reply with that. Again, why do an estimate if never intend to follow up? I had a single question needing answered by an old man who needed help. He's 92 , an Army vet and deserves to be treated nicer.
To come on here and say you sift through people after meeting them and decide if they are too dangerous to work for? What? Us? After what I read about you...my dad dodged a bullet, not only in the Korean war.

We had them out to add an additional outlet in the garage to service our irrigation control panel. they arrived on-time, as scheduled and performed the work quickly. we will definitely utilize their services again.
Had a time-sensitive repair and Dan was very quick to get things fixed, even while I was out of town. The scheduling, quote and billing process was quick and easy online. Definitely will be calling again with any future electrician needs!

Buckeye wired a service to my new patio including outlets, switches, and a fan. They were timely, efficient and did a great job.
I had an appointment scheduled for this morning, and no one showed up. Called multiple times to both of their numbers, left voicemail, texted, and emailed after they didn't show up, and several hours later I still didn't get a response. I chose them because apparently they do great work, but I guess I'll never know.
This was after them taking days to even calculate an estimate and schedule the appointment after visiting my home, and that only happened after getting no response from several texts and getting lucky by getting an electrician to pick up the phone.
If someone actually calls me back about why they missed our appointment and comes out to do the job, then I would be willing to give a better rating, but as of now I can't say anything positive.
UPDATE:
You literally sent me an email with an estimate and a date and time for when you would arrive. If you were going to decline why didn't you just say so when you showed up, and why did you send me an estimate and schedule a date to do the job? And why didn't you call me to tell me you declined the offer? Very unprofessional.

Note that this is over two months after these guys failed to show up, during which I already hired someone else to do the job. I had completely forgotten about this terrible experience when the owner decided to change his response to this (in case he deletes it):
A horse walks into a bar, and the bartender asks what he’d like. The horse doesn’t reply because it’s a horse and obviously can’t speak or understand English. Several people get up and leave, sensing the danger in having a live animal in a bar.
On top of the ridiculousness of replying to a months old review with a metaphor, I can't even begin to think how this makes any sense. The only thing I can glean from it is that I'm the horse who apparently couldn't communicate what I wanted and somehow posed a danger to these guys, so they left without saying anything (because apparently I wouldn't have understood them anyways). Not only was everything clearly and politely communicated to you, but the idea that I somehow posed a danger to you is just downright offensive. Instead of trying to spin this into something favorable for you, you could try being decent people and admit you made a mistake for once. Honestly you people should feel ashamed of yourselves; try having some humility for once.
Had an appointment on Friday at noon Set up and confirmed by Daniel H. . At 1pm my husbanded texted to see if they were on the way and he said unfortunately he was tied up on another job running late. Later texted that Friday was not good for him that he would schedule Anthony H from 2-3pm. Around 5pm my husband texted and he replied best he could do is Saturday morning. First client of the day. My husband texted at 11 am because no one showed up, called or texted. Rescheduled for 11-12. Again no one showed up! My husband texted and was Reschedule for Monday. Monday they came out for an estimate and said they could do the job on Wednesday after noon. Guess what? No one showed up! Don’t bother with this company. Obviously this wasn’t a good fit for us as customers looking for trustworthy and reliable company.
Update- Not shocked at all by the most absurd response left by this company. I only stated facts about my experience. We never asked you to do anything with our Home Warranty other than if you can give us a receipt so we can see if it is covered.
My profession has nothing to do with this job. We gave complete details of what was needed prior to the appointments. I am not an electrician if you needed more information on a job with your supposed background then you should’ve asked clarifying questions prior to coming out and explained that you are not capable of this detailed work. I can understand this job was too hard and labor Intense for the teenagers that were sent to our home. They gave us an estimate which was reasonable and said they couldn’t do anything today the next available day would be Wednesday at noon. We didn’t like that we had to wait but we did accept the reschedule of Wednesday. They never even asked us for any money. Sounds like your employees aren’t telling the whole truth!!!
That response shows that you are incapable of being a true honest, trustworthy company that everyone should question your integrity and commitment.You could’ve just communicated better. I was hesitant to have a licensed electrician come and repair/replace our outdoor outlet in our screened patio. After all, I've been dealing with less-than-stellar contractors for the past 6 years, and that - unfortunately - seems to be the norm these days. Affordable translates to shoddy work and an I-don't-care attitude in many cases. However, Anthony proved yesterday that this isn't always so.
I'd missed our first scheduled appointment as a result of a personal tragedy we'd endured, and Anthony was very understanding and professional about the matter and instantly offered to reschedule. I'm quite pleased I made the decision to do just that. While this business is exceptionally busy with/for other customers, Anthony still made time to squeeze my partner and I into his schedule.
I will admit, when Anthony and his apprentice arrived for our service appointment, I was a bit...surprised. He was not at all what I expected. To be quite honest, I expected someone...well, OLDER. I know that was an unfair assumption and expectation, but I equated age with experience. I quickly found out that with Anthony, once again I was proven wrong...
Anthony and his apprentice, Thomas, set to work straightaway once shown the trouble spot and my hopes for the task were communicated to them. All the while, both of them were very helpful in answering questions, providing feedback, and conversing in general, and did not become annoyed a single time that I was talking their heads off. Once they accurately assessed the situation, Anthony outlined what he was going to do in order to rectify it, which actually went well above and beyond what I had expected to see accomplished at the end of the job!
By the conclusion of the task, we'd received an excellent, to-code solution to our issue. So, why did I not rate a star higher, for a 5 Star Review? Just a few things I felt should have been done differently in the course of their work. First, when the main power needed to be turned off instead of just a breaker or two, my partner, Darell, should have been notified of that since he was working from home that day, and could have potentially been in the middle of a call with a client when power was lost. This could have created an issue for Darell with his Supervisors. Second, a notch was cut into one of our secondary support beams when the original plan was to run wires a certain location, and in the end that ended up not being the case. An albeit-small piece of structure was needlessly removed (and left unfinished) before the final plan of execution had been determined and carried out. This shouldn't ever happen. Finally, regardless of the fact that some of the work carried out to resolve our electrical issue was conducted in an unfinished, utilitarian part of our basement, the small mess made when having notched out our support beam and stripping wiring to install a new receptacle should have been cleaned up and instead was left for us to deal with. Somewhat small matters, which is why only one star was deducted, but relevant nonetheless. Five stars are reserved for truly perfect transactions in my world, and while Anthony definitely has potential to receive nothing but that from all future customers, there is a little room for improvement.
Would I have Anthony and others from Buckeye Electric of Upper Arlington back to do more work? Would I recommend them to friends and family? Without a single moment's hesitation, and I'm already planning on scheduling a few more tasks to be carried out by them in the near future. The value received for the money, the friendly, knowledgeable service, receiving quality work, etc., all add up to an electrical service company that you will HAPPILY keep in your contacts! You'll wish ALL your contractors/handypeople were on this level, I'm sure of it.

Perfect service. Needed to get a networking cord routed through home from basement to top floor. Arrived for estimate on time and offered a quality price. Arrived for installation a few days later. Dan came out on a Sunday on short notice when we were having all sorts of electrical issues. He cleaned up the wiring mess we inherited from the previous homeowner and got everything up and running again. I am so so grateful for his speedy and knowledgeable assistance. Very prompt and professional. They came out the same day and fixed a leak into our electrical panel. They fixed the problem quickly and explained the problem without talking down to me. It was all around a very enjoyable experience.
I had contacted Buckeye Electric for repair to a Nest doorbell camera and set up and confirmed an appointment for the weekend. The weekend came and went with no one showing up, I called the number and even texted and no reply. Three weeks later and still haven’t heard back. Maybe they do good work, but I can’t say.
Was able to come in the same day and get the job done. Explained what he was going to do, gave a proper estimate and had it taken care of quickly. Will definitely call them again with any other electrical concerns.

I bought 3 pendant lights from Restoration Hardware to hang over our kitchen island. We have a vaulted ceiling which made the job more challenging. Anthony and Dan had to drill new holes as well as fish new wiring. They did a perfect job and I couldn’t love the pendants more. These guys are great!

Buckeye Electric did an amazing job installing my 4 Restoration Hardware chandeliers! They were punctual and very professional. They went above and beyond installing one that was 20 feet high. I would not look anywhere else for your electric needs and if you have RH chandeliers this is the team you want installing them.
I hired Buckeye Electric to install an outlet over my fireplace. Not only was their quote lower than anyone else I spoke with, but they were able to put in the new outlet without putting any holes in the wall. I would definitely recommend them and will use them for any other electrical work I need done.

They came in and fixed a fan I had hanging on the ceiling, now attached to the floor. The now serrated, oscillating blades keep us cool and act as a great burglary deterrent. Too bad about the cat though.
The installation went great, they were quick and on time. Totally professional and quick to respond as well!
Because we are in the same neighborhood, Buckeye Electric came out to our home in the late evening on a Friday to help us; we were out of power and air conditioning in 90 degrees. He took every step he could to help us, and was diligent in finding out what our issues were. Not only did he spend time with us and work his hardest to fix the problem that evening and most of the next day, he stuck by us when AEP had to come out, and spoke for us. Thanks so much, Buckeye Electric.

Ok guys.. I would not recommend. I called, texted multiple times with no answer when a tech didn’t show up for my appt. I never received a confirmation message from them for the appt (I got a “your appt has been scheduled” AFTER my appt time and AFTER I finally got ahold of someone) and this is how they handled it. I was just trying to give CS advice as in my line of work, if a tech was a no show no call, it would be very bad for our company....
Emergency call on Saturday night. Showed up within 30 minutes. Problem diagnosed on the spot. Helped to put in temporary fix and showed up Sunday morning with part to fix. Great service at a great value.

Had Nest doorbell installed. But was also missing a transformer. All were installed professionally and quickly at what I considered a reasonable price.
I appreciated being included in all the detail work plan that was involved. The team delivered quality service.
Vm said leave a text for service. 2 days and no response.
Update. 16 Days and still no response. Regarding the response from vendor: there was nothing on the voice mail to indicate they were closed for the holidays. So, try again is not a great answer.
