Cannot say enough about Dave and the team at Big City. They are always accommodating and so friendly and easy to work with. They do quality work and are available upon short notice. I would highly recommend them and would not work with another electrician.

On Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, our electric went out in our livingroom. I called Big City and spoke to David. He stated, he could get someone out the following day. I told him my mom is weak and has stage 3 cancer and when the electric went out, she was stuck in bed. We had extention cords running from upstairs and hooked up to her hospital bed. He was also kind enough to give me his cell phone number. On Thursday, May 18th, 2023 a worker showed up to find the problem. He stated, it was a light switch causing the problem. He fixed it and my mom was so thankful she gave the man money to buy his lunch. About 8 hours later and the electric goes again. The breaker wouldn't work. So, the next morning, I called David again and my husband spoke with him. He gave my husband a few tasks to see what was going on and was told to call him back. I called him back and got no answer so I left a message. I called the company number. I knew, we were going to be stuck with no electric in that room over the weekend. My mom was going to be in the dark. I called again in Monday and left a message and again on Tuesday. No return phone call, nothing. We were ghosted. Now my mom is admitted into the James Cancer hospital. She's been there since Monday and I haven't had time to find anyone to come out because I've been with her. She is hoping to be released on Tuesday the 30th but since it's a Holiday, not sure who I can find to come out before she is released. I'm really disappointed in this company. Maybe they just didn't want to work around my mom's hospital bed even though it has wheels. I'm just sad for her.

Had two EVSEs installed in my garage, one specific to Tesla and a NEMA 14-50. Jason, who coordinated the work and permits, was very professional and responded to emails promptly. Chuck and David who did the installation were also great and fast.

Quick summary: Workers were pleasant and professional. Price was a little high compared to what I had heard it should cost but the professionalism was worth it.

Bryan and Charles installed 2 slanted ceiling chandeliers, 3 hallway fixtures, 2 high can lights and a new dimmer switch. They all look great and are exactly what we were looking for. They answered any questions we had even about things not on their to do list. They arrived on time, were extremely polite and respectful — and completed the work in a fraction of the estimated time. Jason was also extremely helpful in the quoting process — promptly answering all of my questions along the process. So happy with the finished product!

We had Big City Electric install two wall light fixtures by our garage (including wiring) and Bryan and Charles did a great job. They arrived early, were professional and it only took them an hour and a half. They cleaned up afterwards and took all of the trash with them. The total cost was very good and reasonable. We are new home owners and I plan to have more light fixtures inside the home replaced in the future and will definitely call Big City Electric again. Customer service from Jason was great when I was getting a quote and asking questions.

I called Big City in the evening and Dave picked up and was incredibly nice and accommodating. We just purchased a Tesla and needed a charger installed. He was able to get me scheduled for an estimate and tentatively booked the installation a few days after the estimate. Jason came out for the estimate, was promptly on time, extremely professional and courteous. He walked me through exactly what they would need to do as we have a finished basement. The team that came out was great. They were extremely nice, punctual and thorough. They kept me informed throughout the job.

Their pricing was competitive and though we could've saved $1-200 going with someone else, I felt like their professionalism was worth the extra money. They are also on the Tesla website as a recommended electrician. If we have future needs from an electrician, I will be calling Big City first.

Exceptional! Dave and Charles installed five ceiling fans today. One of which was on a tall, slanted ceiling. They did outstanding work! They cleaned up the rooms very well and carried out all the trash. The price was exactly as quoted, even though the job was a bit more difficult than expected. I could not be more satisfied. Highly Recommend!

Always does great work and explains everything step by step as to what happened, how it happened, and if possible ways to prevent the issue from happening again. Prices are also pretty reasonable.

From start to finish, this company was an absolute pleasure to work with. They truly are about building relationships with their customers! As a first time home owner, not only was I comfortable with Big City Electric in my home, but I would recommend them to anyone. They are honest, very reasonably priced, and professional. Kept our whole house clean while they replaced all outlets and switches and did a whole panel switch too. DIY basement renovation except for electric, which I don't DIY. :-) Got a quote from Mr. Electric and it was $5K for basic tasks (run electric lines to new lights, receptacles and switches, correct some code-related issues with previous owners' janky/dangerous wiring, install a whole-house surge protector, etc.). Lo and behold, we discover our estimator from Mr. Electric was on commission -- so it was no surprise when Jason from Big City came out and quoted us the work that we actually needed to have done at half the price. All the recommendations Jason made for our project were spot-on -- he could have gouged and up-sold us, but he helped us achieve our vision for the least amount of cost possible. That's the mark of a true professional, and what seals the deal for us as customers. From general manager Jason to owner David to our crew who did the work (Dave and Anthony), we experienced the kind of world-class treatment we would expect from a locally-owned business that takes integrity seriously. The quality of the work was superb. Dave and Anthony are professionals through and through, and they treated our home as though it were their own. They patiently explained to us what they were doing and why. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy. We'll never use another electric company -- we're Big City customers for life. The review of Tim. S below mirrors my experience. Last year I had Big City Electric install my EV charger and it was a great experience. Fast forward to March and it stopped working. I called them to come out given that it was still under warranty. They stated that it was an issue with the charger itself. Tesla examined the charger cable and found no issues. I then had Big City Electric back out again and the issue was fixed. Now three months later, the EV charger has stopped working again. I have called them countless times; however, there is no way to leave a message. I have also emailed them and contacted them through their website with no response. Is Big City Electric still in business? I am hoping this review gets their attention. I shouldn't have to pay to hire another company when this is under warranty. I will also be contacting Tesla so that they can remove Big City Electric as a recommended installer.

Big City Electric has an amazing team of professionals! Every communication was prompt and they welcomed all questions and clearly answered everything I asked. I felt the consultation with estimate was extremely thorough and prepared me for the work. The team who performed the work was prompt and kindly walked me through the house discussing each part of the completed projects. Everyone was strict with COVID protocols and I felt safe having the team in the house. The completed work is perfect and everything was done exactly as I had hoped!

We could not be happier with our experience with Big City Electric. David came out to give us an estimate for recessed lighting in our basement and in the process asked about any future projects we had in mind. We mentioned possibly a ceiling fan in another room and he suggested a can light in the entryway. David seemed very thoughtful about the projects. The estimated cost was very competitive and we decided to hire them for both projects. We are so glad we did! We had to wait about 2 weeks to get scheduled, but it was definitely worth the wait. Just had a small job mounting a motion sensing light in back. They were great. Very efficient and made sure I was happy before they left. Followed all safety protocols. I would still highly recommend them for an electrical job!

They were very professional and did high quality work. They wore plastic coverings over their shoes when in our home to keep our floors clean, which was very much appreciated. I’ve used Big City electric twice now and have had an excellent experience both times. They’re friendly, conscientious, professional, and the pricing was very fair. 5.5.20 - NEW WORK. Big City did another great job for us today installing more outdoor electrical outlets for back yard and sump pump. Great work as always, and a fantastic crew. They were thorough with COVID19 protection leading up to and through the installation. No worries having them on site; and they were careful to protect their own employees as well.

Previous work - I have had Big City Electric do two larger jobs on my home and I referred them to a friend who needed a very large job done. They have always been very friendly to work with and they do great work. Today, Charles and Bryan did some outdoor and garage work to install new lines for outlets and lighting. They arrived earlier than scheduled and wrapped up sooner than expected. Plus, they did a fantastic job on everything. Don’t hesitate to hire these folks. Thanks

I have used BCE twice. The first time they came out to replace a breaker and suggested replacing the whole panel because of its age. They gave me an estimate for that as well as for raising the height of the service line in the backyard. Almost a year later I asked if they could update the estimate and add what it would cost to remove some ugly wall sconces from my living room. The new estimate was almost exactly the same price as the old one, even with the additional work and the time that had gone by. The second time they did work for me was based on that estimate. Bryan and Charles came out and were professional, courteous and friendly. They even offered me an alternative to save money, which I decided not to go with, but I appreciated the offer. This company does quality work for a very reasonable price. I will definitely use them again.

We had contacted Big City Electric in March of this year for an EV charger for our Tesla. David and his team were prompt to come and quote the work and we decided to move forward with him being very reasonably priced. The worked performed was timely and minus a small issue of the outlet being installed upside down (which was fixed after the same day), no complaints.

Fast forward to December of this year, I noticed the charging had stopped working for the Tesla. I opened the breaker box to find that the breaker had tripped and that there was burning plastic smell accompanied by a warm temperature from the specific breaker. I had immediately reached out to David and his team since the statement of work states a one year warranty on all parts and service. I have contacted Big City Electric multiple times through email and voicemail (no one picking up calls) over a two week span with no luck. Are they still in business?

Now my family and I are stuck without an EV charger during the holiday weeks. I understand breakers are faulty and some products do malfunction, but to not communicate or respond back for weeks is tough.

Update: 1/4 - Still no call from Big City or answer after multiple attempts. Just went ahead and had another electrician come out to fix the issue. We found that the work was not performed to code and that a different breaker brand was used than what the panel was causing the breaker to not sit properly, therefore causing possible heat damage to the panel that may require an entire new panel. Very disappointed as this could have caused major damage to the house if it did not already cause a couple thousand dollars to replace the panel.

We needed an outlet for level 2 charging of our new ev. From the initial call, to the estimator coming out, to the day of installation - everything was prompt, efficient, professional and timely. I couldn't have asked for more. They were extremely accommodating, even when we changed our minds after the estimation on the location of the outlet, and they informed us when an earlier opening popped up. The actual time was shorter than the three hour estimate, and quality-wise everything is fantastic! The whole experience was hassle-free and so smooth, I will definitely use Big City Electric if any other need comes up!

Professional, on time, friendly and reasonably priced - a great experience with Big City electric. I had an interior light fixture replaced and one repaired. Charles and Bryan were awesome. I also appreciated that they removed all packaging and old bulbs! I highly recommend Big City Electric!

When we purchased in 2013, Dave and his crew rewired the entire house. They were all very professional and did a fantastic job for a very fair price. I have worked with Big City Electric several times now. I previously worked with another electric company that could not figure out the electrical issues at my old house. Big City Electric was able to figure out what they could not and performed the work in half the time. The electricians were prompt, professional, and the quality of work was exceptional. Dave and his team have done multiple jobs for me. Dave takes care of my rental properties and also has done extensive work at my personal home. Dave and his team have always been professional, competitively priced and they follow through with getting the job done fast and right the first time.

We had to upgrade the panel box to accommodate the new electronics. Big City Electric did the work quickly and efficiently. David and Jerry were a very friendly and courteous team. When they installed the new electric panel, they even made sure they copied the labels from the old circuit panels on the new panel. And they swept up the floor afterwards.

We had Big City Electric out to hour house on 7/14/2020 to relocate a junction box and install a ceiling fan in the new spot. Bryan and Charles arrived early, ready to go, and finished in record time (about 40 minutes, including a meticulous clean-up). They were friendly, professional, and were careful about observing safety practices related to COVID. Later that day, the fan started making fluttering sounds, and I was able to schedule a return visit for today, 8/4, for the same team to see what was going on. Big City's work is guaranteed, so the cost of the original installation covered this visit, too. Bryan and Charles once again were fast and efficient, and fixed the issue (a wire tag was flapping) in about 20 minutes. I now consider them/Big City our go-to electricians!

Update: We need additional electrical work. This time a new crew were dispatched for the job (Bryan and Charles). They upheld the high standards set by the previous crew!

I was extremely happy with their work. The two tech (Christian and Anthony) arrived on time and went above and beyond. The work was completed in a timely manner and everything was cleaned up when they left. Next time I need electrical work done I will call Big City Electric.

We had Ant and Dave come out and upgrade our very old 100 amp panel to a modern 200amp panel, and switch out a handful of old two-pronged outlets to GCFI outlets. They were timely and knowledgeable, and completed the work efficiently without causing any disruption to our day. We also felt very safe the entire time given the pandemic situation, and proper social distancing and mask wearing was practiced the entire day. We believe we got a great value for the work that was completed, and we will definitely be using Big City Electric for any additional electrical work that we might need in the future. 10/10 would recommend to family and friends!

Big City has done amazing work for us in the past, and at great prices. Recently when they couldn't help us on a project, they graciously offered to find us a back up company they trusted because Dave said Service is about relationships, not money. In 2020, that's some amazing customer service. :)

My Tesla charger went bad, and I was stuck without home charging for a few days. Big City Electric was on the ball - and were able to get me on the schedule the day after my new charger arrived. Jason was great in the quoting and inspection process - then when Anthony & Charles came to install the charger they were quick, professional, and helpful every step of the way. I highly recommend Big City Electric and their entire team!

Don was our electrician and provided fantastic service. He was punctual, and immediately got to work rewiring our old house for a new drier. He also fixed the polarity of an upstairs plug. He was quick and had both done in less than an hour! He was very nice, explained the issues to me and provided high-level cost estimates, which were right in line with what it actually ended up costing (very reasonable!). I will definitely be using Big City Electric for future electrical work and would highly recommend them.

I initially called Big City for a panel upgrade and installation of a hot tub disconnect. Their quote beat every competitor by several hundred dollars.

Unfortunately my hot tub delivery has been delayed several times, but Big City has been very patient and accommodating. I recently also had to have some HVAC work done at my home and had to upgrade wiring for the AC. Big City was able to add this work to the job on short notice.

On installation day David, Anthony and Jerry came out and were very professional in their work. In about 4 hours they were able to upgrade our panel, ran the new wiring for the AC and did the initial install work for the hot tub disconnect. They also left the area cleaner they when they arrived.

Once my hot tub arrives I will have them to come out and finish the installation. In the future I plan to use them for my electrical needs.

I called on a Monday morning to schedule a service call. The shop answered promptly and professionally. They asked if I was available that afternoon, and unfortunately I was not. They scheduled my service for Wednesday at 1:30.
David and Jerry arrived at 1:30. They were extremely pleasant and thorough and were able to pinpoint the GFI and switch that we needed replaced very quickly. Great guys with great personalities. When we need any additional electrical work done I will be calling Big City.

Very professional and responsive. It was great working with Dave and Jason to schedule. The guys who came out (Brian and Charles) were a pleasure to work with and made the process as smooth as possible. There were a few kinks but they resolved it in a timely manner. We recently hired Big City Electric to complete some work in our home, it took me quite awhile to find someone after a couple not so great experiences. I reached out to them based on their reviews and after receiving such a quick and courteous response back, I actually decided to move forward with their company and not obtain other quotes. I'm really glad I did! Our technician was Christian and man was he fantastic! He was really knowledgeable, patient with my Dads hundred questions lol, cleaned up his work space and you could tell he really knew his trade. We had a great experience leading up to the service but Christian sealed the deal. I've already recommended them to others and we will definitely work with them again in the future for all of our electrical needs!

The staff (Jason) and installation technicians are absolutely wonderful. They were onetime, professional and very responsive to my questions. Great choice for electrical work!! I had 10 light fixtures replaced and dimmer switches installed, and the whole process was easy, professional and the price was excellent. I live in German Village and ,no surprise, the service was not designed for 20th century uses. I needed an upgrade of the service panel from 100 amp to 200 amp. Additionally, I required a electric vehicle (EV) outlet in my detached garage.

David, Anthony, and Jerry showed up on the first day. I was without electricity for only approximately 4 hours. They were very fast paced. I could see a sense of urgency in all of their activities, which I appreciated. As are most at this time, I am working from home. So electricity is essential, especially during normal business hours. Also with working from home there is significant interaction with the installers.

The second day involved only Jerry and Anthony. There is no words that can describe their professionalism, knowledge, and urgency. Again, I could tell that they saw this project as their own, in a sense. Being a bit of a DIY warrior, I was a bit of helicopter client. I had not doubt that they were doing a perfect job, but wanted to learn. They displayed incredible patience. As an added bonus they were incredibly social and personable. The job was completed and the EV charging in the detached garage works phenomenally. I can actually drive my car without requiring 24+ hours of charge.

After months of flickering, the lights in our kitchen and hallway finally stopped working altogether so I called Big City Electric to help; I'm so glad I did! The person on the phone was super helpful and was able to fit me in same day. Bryan and Charles arrived on time (early even!) and were extremely fast, kind, and knowledgable. In addition to fixing the main issue and replacing two fixtures I'd been unable to reach, all within the minimum call-out time, they were also nice enough to make a recommendation for new bulbs which will hopefully save me from needing to replace them as often in the future. I would recommend Big City Electric. We found them through our home warranty office. We had a outage in two rooms, our daughters and home office. Both crucial in a pandemic. Though they had to reschedule due to a job that ran over. On the next appointment they were early, wore masks and booties. They assessed the problem swiftly and corrected in under an hour! Which was great as we had a physical therapy appt to make that morning. They were also very polite. Goes a long way in customer service for me. Very pleased.

I had a great experience with Big City Electric. They installed new lighting and wiring for my 1965 home. Their team (Brian, Brian & Jason) was professional and went the extra mile to keep me informed. There was a minor electrical glitch that was noticed after install but they came back promptly the next day to fix it. That type of swift responsiveness is rare these days.
I highly recommend going with them.

Christian and David G did an excellent job of repairing three way switches in my dining room and kitchen and a single switch in my bathroom. They repaired a ballast on one of my garage lights so they now both work. Best of all they removed the fluorescent light panel in my kitchen and set up the wiring for 3 overhead LED lights and put me in contact with Hector to do the drywalling. They were professional and nice guys to have around the house.

I can't even begin to express how satisfied I am with the work done by Chris and Jason! They were very professional, efficient, and very clean.

We contacted Big City Electric to help us add canned lights to our first floor. While most competitors offered to do it a little cheaper, they offered to do it right (avoided going through our intricately textured ceilings).

Great Experience With Big City Electric. I needed a gas line bonded and grounded with a quick turnaround time to keep the sell of my house on track and Big City came through for me. I was out of town when I made the call and would not be back before I needed the work completed so I requested a call at least 30 minutes before the technician arrived so that I could coordinate access. The technician did exactly that and was kind and courteous. He also called me once the job was completed to provide me with an update. We had some miscellaneous electrical work done as the result of a home inspection. I needed a hot tub wired in and I contacted Big City Electric because of their highly rated reviews. I was not disappointed and would highly recommend them to anyone that needs electrical work. David, Paul, Chris, Mike and Jason were all great to work with. Communication was great throughout the process and pricing was fair.

My husband and I recently moved into an older home that needed a lot of electrical work. David Weber, the owner, was great to work with. He came out to provide an estimate on extremely short notice. He also helped my husband and I prioritize the work needed by taking the time to discuss saftey-related issues vs. things that would be nice/ideal to have done. Once the work was ready to begin, Paul was the electrician who came to the home. Paul was wonderful. He treated our home as though it was his own, and was even willing to put our dog in her kennel when he left for the day. Paul also took the time to describe exactly what needed to be done and why. Working with Big City Electric was a great experience, and we will definitely be using them in the future, as well as recommending them to friends and family.

What a great experience. These guys showed up early and did fantastic work. However, I was most impressed with how courteous and professional they were. I had several projects and was assigned Brian, Jack, and Chris - all great guys. Dave, who I believe may be the owner, is also very responsive and accommodating. I'll certainly be using these guys again, in the future.

Dave and Jerry came out today to install a Tesla wall charger for us. They were on time, professional, friendly, went above and beyond and did an excellent and clean job. Very very impressed with both of these men and Big City Electric. Would absolutely use again.

My wife and I needed to replace our Federal Pacific electrical panel and Big City Electric's prices could not be beat. We were also going to have wiring installed in a guest bedroom so that we could hang a fan but we did not have the money so we decided to go with just the electrical panel replacement. Not only did Chad and Scott from Big City Electric do an excellent job on the electrical panel, they installed a new fan hook up in our guest bedroom for free! When I got home from work, I had a new double switch installed so that we can control the light and fan separately. I installed a fan the next day. Chad and Scott are awesome. Thanks!

Top notch experience with Dave and Chuck. We have an older home with unique needs, and these guys were able to roll with the punches. They were excellent at problem solving and coming up with the best solution for us (with minimal incurred costs/damage). I talked with Big City Electric to fix a problem with one of my breakers. They quickly responded to my request and were able to send Mike and Christian to repair the problem. I had a big project that took their team of three guys about 8hrs to do, and only issues at first were a couple extra holes to patch(walls had to be cut into,which I knew I would be patching in advance). Found out later that two screws in the electrical box were in so tight I could not get them out, even with an electric driver. I contacted Jason about the issue, he had a team come out to take care of it, they broke the screws off and replaced them and checked some connections in the box for me while they were there. I would definitely recommend Big City Electric to my friends and family, a great overall experience!

I recently had a fairly large project done by Big City Electric and was very happy with the service, level of communication and end result.

I was having a hard time finding a good electrician to work on my 100 year old house, when a family member (with an equally old home) gave me the recommendation for Big City Electric.
We had them replace/rewire the existing Knob & Tube throughout the house, install new outlets, switches, install new ceiling lights and a couple new ceiling fans. We also upgraded our electric panel.

With a project like ours, damage to walls is inevitable. Big City Electric went out of their way to minimize damage/holes even if that meant taking the longer and harder route. They also were very careful with controlling the dust and cleaned up very well every day they were here.
They always made sure to keep me informed to what was going on and didn't have a problem explaining things to me when I had a question.
I'll admit, there were a few hiccups along the way, but Big City Electric was quick, responsive and easy to deal with to remedy any issue that popped up. I could really tell they wanted to make sure they left me a happy customer, and that they did.

I called three companies to get a quote on installing a ceiling fan where there was no fixture or outlet, and Big City offered me the best price and it was a simple set rate. We purchased ceiling fans for two 1st floor rooms in our home. Neither room had an outlet in the ceiling so we needed wiring work done in addition to installing the fans. We requested quotes from several electricians. David from Big City Electric came out to discuss the work we wanted. He asked lots of questions and gave us some options. He even talked about some steps that would cost less. I really like when a company does that. It tells me they are interested in giving me the best option at the best price even if they could have charged me more. Their goal is not to make as much money as they can off of me. Their goal is to give their customers the best option at the best price. This earns my trust and my loyalty.

Our appointment was for 8:30am. Jason called me before the appointment time to let me know he had been delayed while picking up supplies. I do value punctuality, but I also understand circumstances come up. I really appreciate it when I am told when someone is going to be late for an appointment. Not everyone business will give you that courtesy. They will just show up late.

Anyway, Jason informed me he would be delayed . A short time later he arrived. I showed him the fans and where we wanted them. He promptly began to work. A few hours later I had exactly what I wanted.

We had a circuit on our breaker that wasn't working. It wasn't tripped, just didn't work. No lights or outlets on that circuit worked, only our kitchen microwave was on the same circuit. We used an extension cord to go across the kitchen so the microwave could be used while the circuit was out.

I called Big City Electric on a weekend and left a message. I got a prompt call back on the next business day. He asked me for all the details and really heard me. So you know when you talk to someone making an appointment and you feel like they're listening, but not hearing you. He got my all my concerns and accurately recorded what I was telling him. As a bonus when I told him someone else would be at the house when they come he just asked a couple of questions and moved on.

The person who came to our house was polite and courteous. He offered to wear the shoe wraps, which rejected since we're redoing our flooring anyway. He asked multiple times if we were sure. Great manners. He was also very thorough. He didn't just check the outlets we told him were an issue. He went all over the house and tested everything. We had a couple outlets that were just bad, he went ahead and replaced them.

The overall problem was actually in the box itself. We needed a part, an old part so he didn't have it. We went out to get it same immediately and called his cell phone. He came back same day and installed the part.

I had such a good experience at the beginning I didn't shop around for other electricians. So I can't tell you where the price fell, but I can tell you it didn't feel steep.

Brian and Charles were fantastic installers! We had three bedrooms wired for overhead lights and ceiling fans installed. They were extremely professional from the moment they rang the door bell. In Covid times they wore masks, footies and had hand sanitizer. They cleaned up after the job. I think what speaks the most volume is that we have an infant and prior to starting the shop-vac they came and warned us, as to not startle her. We will be using them for all home electrical jobs!

Very happy with the service I received from BCE. 4 outlets in my living room stopped working and Jason, the electrician, arrived precisely at the scheduled time and was able to methodically diagnose the problem. Jason was able to locate the loose wire that caused all of my outlets to stop functioning and replace it in about half an hour. Within about 45 minutes, all of the safety checks had been done and the bill was paid. Highly recommended.

These guys were fantastic. They came right on time, got the work done, went the extra mile to help us out, and left everything clean and tidy. Brian and Charles were just pleasant to have around. And when our 1926 ceiling wouldn’t allow two lights to go in, they came up with an alternate solution that saved us some money. We really appreciated their creativity and honesty.

Christian was early to the job and very professional. My electric decided to behave while he was there so he fixed a different outlet for me no problem. This is my first house and I’ve never had to call for an electrician before and Christian at Big City Electric did not disappoint! I will be using them for an electrical needs in the future.

I had Big City Electric replace all the wiring in my house and they did a wonderful job. They got the job done in about a week and I felt very comfortable leaving them the keys to my house. Each night, before they left, they swept up that days mess, took their garbage with them, explained and showed me what they got done and if I wasn't home they locked up when I was done for the day.

It takes a lot to get me excited about the goods and services that I use as a consumer, but perhaps that is because most companies only offer the bare minimum when it comes to service. Not Big City Electric! I called around for several estimates before I had the work done. Not only was Big City the first to the table with an estimate, they were also able to complete my job weeks ahead of their competition. I got the feeling that I was dealing with a small company, and that I was cared about. the estimate was lower than many of the others that I had tried. after they were finished they followed up with me to ensure that I was satisfied. We needed our garage rewired so we had a few companies bid on it. Nobody was even close. Bryan was the actual electrician that did the work. Recently we needed a line run for a new gas range and the vent hood. We were referred to Big City and I'm glad we were. David went out of his way to get the line installed by the time the range arrived and the fellas that did the installation were friendly, professional and did exactly what we needed the day before the range was delivered so we could connect it and were good to go. David also assisted in helping us locate someone to install the hood which was beyond what was expected. We definitely would recommend them to anyone who needed this sort of work done and would call them in the future.

I moved into a very old home about 6 months ago. There were a good deal of electrical issues that needed to be addressed and I had Big City come out and take a comprehensive look at all of them. Dave was very prompt, friendly, and so helpful. He spent over an hour with me just walking around, telling what was and was not a hazard and how to go about it. His rates are extremely competitive and I have had them come out twice now to do work on this old house!. I was especially impressed when I needed electric run to my old shed where the team needed to pull up pavers in order to get to the detached building. Their work was proficient, clean, and they made my walkway look like it had never been torn up. I will definitely be using them in the future!

Big City Electric installed two LED lights and troubleshooted a circuit breaker that was tripping. Christian did an excellent job explaining what happened with the circuit breaker, which really put my mind at ease. He even straightened out a light switch for one of the lights he installed and fixed the light switch box for the other light. I will be dealing with this company again.

Chose Big City Electric based on google reviews to resolve a full outage in our bathroom, after not being able to find the right breaker. Called and got an early appointment, Bryan T. very helpful: came and resolved the problem within a half hour, checked all our outlets, relabeled the circuit box and offered to change dead bulbs. Charged for a standard service call, so it was very affordable. Extremely professional and fair in pricing, will definitely call them again.

Legendary service, aside from you may have to wait 2+ days to get your initial call back and sometimes follow up communication, but if you're not in a hurry, it's well worth it. And I assume if you stress you're in a pinch, they will expedite your requests. Estimator was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Installer, who I've had out twice, was also excellent. This is the 3rd electrician I've tried and now the only one I will call unless I'm in a big hurry.

Our master bedroom circuit was not working. Waited several weeks for another electrician to make his way to our house, and I finally gave up waiting. I called Big City Electric a little after 8 AM, and they had a technician at our house by 9:15 AM! Christian troubleshooted the problem, and found that a ceiling fan in the adjacent loft area was the problem- tripping the arc fault breaker. Christian was very courteous, friendly and professional. Highly recommend Christian and Big City Electric. Will definitely call them again for future projects/issues that I cannot solve.

Jason came to my house to replace two bad outlets, and he was a joy to have in my house. He was quiet and kind, and was very willing to explain every step because of my curiosity. Shortly after he was finished and had left, the house began to fill with smoke, and we didn't know if it was an appliance that had been plugged into the new outlet, or the wiring. Of course I immediately unplugged the appliance, and the VERY NEXT DAY Jason was back out to make sure that the wiring was safe. He tested everything, including taking the cover off the electrical box and shaking the wires. He tested things that I don't have the ability to describe. The wiring was JUST FINE, but Jason wasn't content to just say so. He applied his tester to the appliance in question, in several different modes, and we discovered that that appliance had shorted out, even though the wiring was fine.
I feel very safe with the electrical work Jason did, and I am very pleased that he and the company took so much effort, especially when their work was not at fault. Jason assured me that he and the company put my safety first, and were glad to be able to check it out and make sure.

I would just like to say my first 2 star review was a misunderstanding with Jason and the guys!!! David the owner had called me and after some phone tag i had them come out to my house for a 3rd job. The guys were great!!
To make this short everything was done exceptionally well. I have a few more projects in the future and Big City Electric Columbus will the people i call!!! I hope you do as well.

Most places were scheduling out 1-2 weeks...not big city electric...they had my emergency fixed the next day. Bryan and Charles came right on time and were in and out in about 15 minutes to put in a GFCI outlet and fix up my electric box. They were very quick and professional. Will definitely recommend for future use!

Had them install three light fixtures. One was tough because there was no wire box, which means new wiring had to be run through the ceiling. BCE was very professional. The estimator gave me all the details, and he knew what would be needed. The work itself was done faster than estimated, but exactly right. Cost was as estimated. I would DEFINITELY use this company again.

Dave returned my call quickly, and thankfully so as I would have ended up with a house fire had he not. Jason responded after hours and came to do an initial inspection, gave me a ballpark figure for the repair and ensured the problem was isolated and safe before leaving. He returned the following day with Shawn and they were able to fix the issue and get me up and running quickly and efficiently. Very grateful for the quick response time and professional service.

As a side note, I'm curious by nature and wanted to watch as Jason worked. He was patient with me as I asked many questions and probed about the problem. I really appreciated the help and candor.

Dave and Dave with Big City Electric did and amazing job installing a high voltage electric hookup for my wife’s Tesla. We have a finished, complicated basement where the main panel is located. It was a challenge to get the electric to the garage. And they did so with minimal distribution to the basement. It looks like it was always there. I highly recommend Big City Electric.

Installed a 14-30r outlet for tesla instead of 14-50r outlet which caused some inconvenience. However everyone makes mistakes and Jason and Dave both worked very hard and fixed the mistake within half a day. Jason responded to me through email a few hours after I emailed him. Dave offered his personal number to make sure everything is working! They deserve their reviews on google.

Tree limb fell on power line bending my electrical riser pole. Big City Electric gave a a reasonable quote to replace the riser pole. They were professional and very easy to communicate with. High quality parts were used and quality workmanship.

We're brand new in Columbus and needed a cable run, and didn't know anything about anyone. So Google helped us out. Well, Mikki is a sweetheart, very friendly and professional. Made an appointment right away. David called ahead of time, showed up on time, and got right to work. He explained what he was doing, and did it. He cleaned up after, which I wasn't expecting since it was just a little dust. And he was *awesome* with my curious, talkative three year old. Very friendly, very professional, great price. My son (now four) had been the one to find the problem, and David talked calmly and reasonably with him. He replaced the cover for free, and just charged us the labor. He also recommended several YouTube videos for me to show our older son when he got home from school. I was so pleased with his conscientious attitude toward our children.

I contacted Big City Electric in regards to getting my gas line bonded as I was told needed to be done by the gas company. It looked to me that it was, but to be certain, they sent a tech out to inspect my gas meter/line free of charge. Turns out that my gas line was already bonded and the tech from the gas company was misinformed. They could have just taken my money to do the job that I inquired about without looking at the meter, but they saved me the money and let me know it would have been redundant. Big City Electric is a good honest company from my experience. I would recommend them to any and all who need Electrical work.

I contacted Big City Electric asking for service to repair a double tap on my circuit breaker. They reviewed the pictures I sent and informed me that my concerns were not needed and that the UL listing for this breaker allows this when the wires are of the same gauge.

The advice came at no cost and put me a ease regarding the setup of this circuit breaker in my home. It's great to see that there are people out there who just want to help. If I ever need an electrician again in the future I am definitely going to work with Big City Electric.

Jason came out to help a couple of weeks ago when our electric was surging. He was able to find and fix the problem within 20 minutes. He answered all our questions and was very patient explaining everything in a way we could understand without (too many) industry terms. There are a couple of issues that made me rethink the 5 star review but I did tell Jason I was going to post one (at the time I was extremely happy our electric was working and that he was so helpful). The major one is that our insurance company has called multiple times, left messages, and they have received no response. We were suppose to receive an estimate for a whole house rewire and did not. I guess we will have to find another place for our estimate.

Josh came in to setup a new water meter and was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. He was also very quick in his installation not taking more than 30 minutes. Would highly recommend.

In moving to Columbus, we found a great old house, only to discover that it was full of knob and tube wiring. Big City Electric stepped in and saved the day. David, Big City's Owner, gave us quick, thorough, and reasonable estimate about what it would take to rewire the house and bring it into the twenty-first century. No one could match his price on the rewire, but he also helped us see how the rewire could become an opportunity for further updates. Chad and Scott spent weeks on the job, and they went beyond the call of duty to rewire the house with minimal damage. The house was full of peculiarities and irregularities, but they problem-solved their way through every difficulty. Chad and Scott were trustworthy, reliable, friendly, and professional--they had their own high standards, and went back to fix anything that wasn't perfectly done.

I was a little concerned when I saw only ratings of 5 on google that things were too good to be true. However, David was excellent - he did everything we needed at a fair price and did not try to push extra services. i will absolutely use this company again if I need more electrical work done

I HIGHLY recommend Big City Electric. I was having a very odd issue with my electricity in two of my bedrooms. I had a couple electricians come out to try to diagnose the issue, but none could figure out the issue. Before Big City, I had KMA electric (NEVER use them) come to look. The technician checked one outlet and then basically said that he couldn't figure it out and I'll need a new breaker panel (about $4k).

Big City came out, the technician was very friendly and took the time to check EVERY outlet. He found that there was something wrong with an outlet in my third bedroom, which was causing the issues in the other two. He fixed it and it only cost me just shy of $200. He said that he was lucky that he caught the issue as it could have led to a fire.

In short, if you need any kind of electrical help definitely use Big City Electric.

Had some issues for 6 months, my internet and tv service was randomly going out for 6 months. Eventually they found that the ground wire was feeding back voltage into the ground wire, which melted my service cables, so I needed an electrician. And eventually led to my lights flickering and my washer and furnace having a hard time kicking on.

Called AEP and and after they looked over the issue with my meter told me that it was my responsibility. ( Beware any insurance does not cover meter repair for electricity).

Called a couple places and got the run around and most had secretaries that answered the phone and could not diagnose my problem or give a quote (not that I was expecting one over the phone).

Called Big City and David (owner/operator) answered my call and asked for pictures and gave me a quote on a Friday (over the phone) and sent someone out to repair my issues with in 2 hours.

Turns out after they showed my the problem my neutral cable had melted due to corrosive terminals in my power meter, which AEP had explained to me prior to them coming to fix the problem.

Good honest service and fair price. They were about $300 dollars cheaper than most others that did give me a ball park estimate.

Couldnt be happier besides a little shorter in the wallet. But with a 1 year warranty Im satisfied.
