I was in Clovis a couple of weeks ago from Atlanta to be with my 80 year old elderly mother who just got diagnosed with cancer. She lives in Clovis on her own. On the last day I was there, I noticed the temperature of her house was at 60 and her thermostat was set at 72 -- blowing cold air. When I got back to Atlanta, I googled HVAC companies. Controlled Climates had good reviews, so I called them to see if they could go to my moms home and check what the problem was and possibly fix it. They were very nice but told me that the earliest available time they had to go to my moms was I think the 2nd week of Dec. I told them my moms age and that she is sick and needed more immediate attention so I would look elsewhere. They told me they could possibly bump it up to the week of Thanksgiving. I told them that was not good enough and I would have to look elsewhere. They then told me to hold on and that they would call me back. When they called back, they could miraculously be there in 1/2 hour. How nice I thought. How lucky I got...I thought.

They arrived at the time they said. I called my mom and told her to have them call me as soon as they were finished diagnosing the problem. I spoke with the technician after he was through, and I was informed that unfortunately the furnace had all sorts of issues and was going to be over $1000.00 to fix. I was told that realistically everything was in such bad shape, it wasn't worth the fix. He recommended a brand new furnace with an air purifier -- a total estimate bill of $4,400.00! Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed over this news. Because of the cost, I declined their immediate services, and opted to get a second opinion.

The next day, I found another HVAC company to come in and check out the problem. They were in and out in less than 45 minutes. They told me it was a loose 24v cable to the gas valve causing the problem and saw no other issues. They fixed it for $85.00, and my mom had heat. I brought up the problems that Controlled Climates had mentioned to me, and I was told that if they saw anything like that they also would have brought it to my attention, but they didn't.

I'm not accusing Controlled Climates of any wrongdoing. I'm just stating facts. They say they have pictures and insist they did everything on the up and up. They defend themselves very well. I however, inconveniently live 2500 miles away. And they knew that. What can I do at this distance except question something that sounds pretty extreme. My mom is elderly and very trusting. I however, not so much. I'm glad that I called someone else. A week and a half later, and with a savings of $4,315.00, my moms furnace is humming along just fine after a thorough inspection and fix by another company.

I received a very professional phone call from the owner Mr. Ray Montez. After reading my review he expressed how sorry he was and didn't like knowing that I felt that way about him or his company. He told me that sometimes one technician can spend 1 hour trying to fix something (which is what he did) and not be able to fix or find the problem and another can come in and get lucky. It can happen.

I was really satisfied with his attempt to repair his image with me more than his concern about his review online. That is what I really respected about his phone call. He didn't tell me to take down my review. He came across as courteous, professional, ethical and honestly sorry about not being able to find the problem. He offered to refund my money and provide some maintenance services for free. I declined.

I really appreciated his phone call and wish him and his company well.

Jack is a very knowledgeable, professional and great person. I had my AC unit replaced as well as water heater system changed. Had no problems since then. Jack is always on time, high quality job, and very affordable. A great and trustworthy company. Highly recommend it.

Been having leaky sink/faucet issues that we thought had been solved. Ebert came out and did an excellent assessment and provided high quality service and gave trustworthy recommendations. He was also very polite, easy to talk to and friendly.

The technician came out with his supervisor and provided me a couple recommendations with no pressure and throughly explained the work that had to be done. Their quote was so reasonable for all the repairs & installations that had to be done so my home can be just perfect to my liking. Costless came the same week with their crew to run water lines and install a drain for my new tub along with other miscellaneous plumbing repairs that I wanted done. I also thought I was going to need a new split system since my AC wasn’t turning on. Luckily all it needed was a new part and a cleaning for it to be back to cooling! Other companies I had prior for quotes were wanting to replace the split system for over $12,000!!!!! I’m super thrilled and happy with all the work that was done. I’ll definitely be using costless for all my plumbing and cooling needs

Called for an estimate. Needed AC service and had a leaking hot water heater tank. Scheduled and appointment for that Friday. They never showed up. Wasted the entire day waiting for them. They should've at least let us know they were running late, couldn't make it and reschedule, or said we don't want your business.
We ended up calling Lee's Heating & Air. Their office called the day before to confirm, and called the day of to say they were on the way. WHAT A BUSINESS CONCEPT!! . Lee's Heating & Air is the company to go with.
