I had a water heater disaster on a 3 year old system. Water everywhere. They were in my home in south chesapeake (with booties on). Removed the old, got me credit on the warrant (i did not have my old receipt even) and fixed it within a few hours. I also had my toilets redone due to problems. The only guys I will call or allow in my home. By the way, they wear little booties and did not get one bit of rust or other on the white carpets.

Upon contacting Michael, he returned our call promptly and provided us with a fair estimate. He is a very honest and conscientious worker. He arrived on time daily, he communicated with us every step of the way and he produced an excellent finished product in a timely manner. We will definitely be using Michael in the future for any handyman household repairs and or roofing repairs and we will recommend him to anyone we know that needs repairs. We have used Mr. Dodd for over 30 years because we can always rely on excellent service. He has completed several HVAC jobs for us during that time. When you call James Dodd Heating Cooling and Plumbing, the phone is answered by his wife Carolyn. With her pleasant manner, she does a thorough job getting detailed information about the HVAC problem. When Mr. Dodd arrives, he has a base of information to assess the problem. He then prepares a detailed work order including the material needed to complete the job, the amount of time to complete the job, and the cost.

Over the years, Mr. Dodd has replaced an entire HVAC system in an older house we owned, completed a tune-up on an existing system (several times), replaced just a part of an HVAC system rather than the whole system, and this week, replaced a gas hot water heater for our home.

Several years ago, Mr. Dodd hired his grandson as an assistant. The two work as a great team. So, when you call Dodd Heating Cooling and Plumbing, the same team arrives to do the job every time.

Our latest plumbing problem had the team arrive, check the type of water heater needed, and locate where the water heater was in the house. The Dodd team was back in a short period of time. They removed the old water heater, installed the new water heater, and hauled the old water heater away. From start to finish, the job was completed in a timely fashion.

When Mr. Dodd left to purchase a new water heater, he could have easily stopped at a nearby Big Box store. Instead, he went to a wholesaler and purchased a higher quality water heater at a much lower price.

Tim and Paul were focused immediately when they arrived. They confirmed what we called to have repaired and with a willingly attitude repaired other things that we remembered we needed done also.
They went to get our materials quickly and cleaned up…although I told them I would do it, being minor and because I appreciated their professional and genuine attitude while doing all repairs and providing suggestions.
And the quote, was surprisingly great.

We called at 8pm when our AC unit stopped working. Our technician came out in 30 minutes. He was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We will definitely use and recommend them in the future.

Matthew Leonard performed the semi-annual check on our HVAC system and fixed a loose ceiling vent. I was very pleased with his professionalism and knowledge of the system. Upon explaining an all house purifier and providing me with brochures on this, I authorized the installation of this unit and look forward to seeing some changes in the allergens in our house. I called for AC service and expected it to take a while with the recent heat we have had. I received a callback within an hour. They had someone on site within 4-5 hours. My AC was back up and at a very fair price. I had them back a few days later to install several electrical outlets. I would highly recommend Colonial home services.
