I called for AC service and expected it to take a while with the recent heat we have had. I received a callback within an hour. They had someone on site within 4-5 hours. My AC was back up and at a very fair price. I had them back a few days later to install several electrical outlets. I would highly recommend Colonial home services.

I have used this fine firm on three separate occasions. The staff is quick to respond and solves problems rapidly and inexpensively. The most distinctive feature is that staff keeps the user fully informed of the schedule for completing what must be done. They are cheerful in their work. I specifically chose this place because of the reputation of them based on their google reviews, however.... i cant agree with any of them. I made an appointment last week needing a quote (not work performed) but a quote to have a gas line run and it was scheduled today between the hours of 8 and 12. I call around 11 to get an update to see when they were planning to come because I had taken the morning off of work, and at that time they told me the plumber was in Williamsburg and was still on the job that needed about 45 minutes on top of 25-30 minute travel time to get to my house. It is now 5:48pm and not once have I received a phone call from the plumber nor the office stating that they were coming to do the estimate or whether an issue came up and needed to reschedule. We are on a time crunch to purchase appliances.... the sale expires tomorrow, so now not only do I miss out on the sale, but have absolutely NO IDEA how much it costs to run a line to determine whether or not we should purchase the gas stove that I would like or just a regular one like we have. I have already sold our current stove and those people are awaiting the call to come and pick it up. So, I've called other plumbers in the area and they don't have an appt soon enough so here we are back to square one.... so thanks for that!

Called these guys over phone to ask about an estimate of gas plumbing service at my place. I got a very bad experience from a technician who was very rude. Very much disappointed on the way he replied. Would never suggest these guys for any one.

Came out for a last minute call. Did great work quickly and competently!

I hired this company in November/December 2021 to install a hand washing sink which is still not finish as of today 2/16/2021. In the span of 3 months and 4 appointments. The 3 appointments they showed up and started working, they would make excuse in the middle of the job to go get needed materials, but they wouldn't come back to finish the job. The 4th appointment, they didn't show up at all.
Overall, I would not recommend this company. Save yourself time, frustration, and headaches and use a better company out there.

We called A-1 American when our guest bathroom toilet began to overflow and would not stop! This is the only bathroom downstairs, and was going to be getting a lot of use the next day as we were having my daughter's 16th birthday party with 30 guests coming! We did not have time for plumbing issues at all as we were preparing for the party. We called A-1 American and we had Ron here within 30 minutes. Ron was polite and very professional, and started on the job right away. Larry arrived 30 minutes later as they needed larger equipment to fix the problem. Ron and Larry had our problem fixed within an hour, much to our relief. Both gentlemen were very helpful, and knowledgeable and explained to us how they had fixed our issue. I would most definitely use A-1 American again!

Tommy was awesome. This is the second time he has been out to our home for a plumbing job. He has good knowledge and very pleasant. Will recommend Tommy to everyone.
