Best HVAC System Maintenance in Portland OR

After getting numerous bids from other HVAC companies we called Central Air. Best decision we have made in years, the bid came back on budget and very timely! Their crew was helpful in explaining everything about our new HVAC system and new thermo stat. It was an easy experience from start to finish!

Things I’ve hired green box to do for me in the last 2 years:
Replace my water heater with a new tankless
Replace my furnace
Install a water line for my fridge
Convert my range connections from electric to gas
Install a range hood vent
Install a new AC

Easy to deal with, even during the shutdown times. Good prices. I had a best effort furnace quote during the plague. When they came on site, they noted the furnace didn’t need to be as big as quoted, installed smaller, I paid less and it works great. Only issues I’ve had with them were of the times: lockdown delays with inspections, supply chain delays, etc aka not their fault and they did their best to work around and accommodate to help things go as smooth as they could.

I have requested my own scope creep a few times talking with them ie, oh, you can do that? Every time there was a clear estimate provided and agreed to before doing the extra work and it was at my request, not them selling me on extras.

I would and have used them again.

I live in an apartment complex and arrived home to a bathtub with standing water. I immediately called my apartments emergency maintenance line. Apparently, I was the first person to say something at 7pm. They sent out an internal maintenance guy to see how bad it was. 8 of us had standing water/sewage in our tubs, and were unable to flush our toilets without them overflowing.At 10pm they decided to call an emergency plumbing service.THANK GOODNESS FOR ERIC B AND APPOLO!!!Eric came out at darn near midnight to help out. To top it all off there was sidewalk construction and he had to use the weird side entrance that is hard to get to. Not to mention that door tries to slam in your face. And we have the worst shaped bathrooms ever, they are thin a narrow.Eric was super polite, professional, and friendly. And this took place between ~11:30 to 2:30 am. So that fact that he was this polite and professional is a testament to how amazing he is. After dealing with the nasty blockage Eric even wiped down the bathroom.I went to work a few hours later and told my coworkers not to flush “flushable” wipes or tampons. Do yourself a favor and read the other 1 star reviews. I don't write 1 star reviews often. And I've taken a week to really consider whether I should but I wished I would have taken the other reviews to heart and hired someone else.

I recently moved into a new place in Portland and had 2 simple tasks for a plumber. Connect a cold water line to my water filter and assemble 2 bidets to the toilets. My plumber in Seattle did these things in less than an hour and charged me $50. It was a completely different story with Detemple. Tom V took 4 hours and charged me $744!

The water filter didn't take too long but Tom said the bidets didn't fit my toilets too well. One he got to work and the other he decided to go back to the shop and find a new toilet seat and it really doesn't fit like it should but he decided he'd force it and spend 3 hours on this job.

Unfortunately, my building only allows residents to use 2 plumbing companies. The other had worse reviews so I've let them know my experience and have requested that residents be allowed to find another company with much better reviews.

Had 2 new gas lines installed to my upper level deck for a BBQ and to my kitchen to replace my electric cooktop. I had another company out to bid this job, but I always like to get at least 2 bids. Portland Gas Piping was so much cheaper it made me nervous at first. The gentleman who called me back to go over my quote assured me their work was all very professional and the reason they were considerably less costs was because they specialized in gas piping and could do the work for less costs to them. After sleeping on it I ultimately went with them, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of work. Everything look great, no mess left behind for me to deal with, and the piping stayed full of air over the weekend and passed an Inspection on Monday with flying colors. I probably would have given this Company 5 stars, but I think they need to improve their employee's overall look as both of the guys that came to my house had full beards and although they were wearing black shirts with the company logo, they didn't have matching slacks. One of them had const type pants (Carharts?) and the other guy was wearing blue jeans. Just my 2 cents. Other than that, the guys were very friendly and were extremely confident installing the gas line to my range. They cleaned up the mess from drilling holes and the work all looked great. The job passed inspection with no problems at all. I thought the costs were very fair and certainly way cheaper than my other quote. Nice guys and great to work with

Outstanding service from start to finish. They made it out on time and as scheduled. I sincerely would recommend Caliber Services to anyone and everyone, for business and residential. Friendly and reliable service. The best!

Very poor customer service!!!! One of Portland mechanical employees ran a stop sign and hit me and I had my children with me. It's been over a month and still nothing!!! I call and it's always the run around. I would give a zero but you can't on this.

Getting the right pricing with Fast Water heater was frustrating. I was quoted three different rates and the last bid was the highest. Tim the scheduling coordinator said that the manager applied the discount and the price was going to be reduced after original bid, however when second installer Shawn came he raised the total price. I tried contacting the manager and never received a response. Very unprofessional staff. Not recommended!

We had an emergency plumbing issue and had to shut our water off at the main source. These guys were able to squeeze us in in a reasonable amount of time. I was emailed a name and picture of the plumber who would be showing up (LOVE THIS). He called when he was on his way and arrived on on time. He looked at the job, told us what needed to be done, we approved the work and he got started. He was great at explaining everything to us. He was quick and did a great job. I will be using and referring Einstein Plumbing & Heating again.
