Best Water Heater Leak Repair in Oakland CA

They came because my thermostat was only intermittently responding to a Williams gas wall unit heater. Nahmans suggested that it was a part in the heater itself, they replaced the part for $300+ and then told me the unit was probably old and that they could replace it for $5000 and left. The heater continued to work only intermittently. I asked them to come back as the original problem had not been resolved. They did came back and found that the pilot light was off, presumably from high winds the night before. They lit the pilot and left and the heater continued to respond to the thermostat intermittently. I did not call them back as they had now twice been out (and paid) and the original problem persisted. Today, another handyman looked at it and noticed a loose screw in the thermostat, fixed that and now the wall heater works. Consequently, I do NOT recommend Nahmans for work on wall units.

Had a significant water leak between floors. Called Big Blue and Paul and Javier were out the next day. Were able to identify the source of the leak after some skillful detection. Javier and Hammad came back the next day. At first I was a little reluctant after hearing some conversations. Javier very patiently went over everything they did. Paul later showed up and checked out everything. All was good and now three days later everything remains good. Their service is professional, they clearly are skillful, they clean up the work site, and they are timely.
I think so much of their service that I have signed up for their annual maintenance program. Big Blue Plumbing will be my plumber of choice from now on!

I called the number listed on their page and was directly connected to Gerald (the owner I believe) to schedule a service consultation. I've already had two companies come out before to come out for a hydronic heater that seemingly no-one in the bay had knowledge to service. Over the phone, Gerald went over things that could have gone wrong and provided an in-depth analysis and even agreed to come out without a charge if nothing required work.

He arrived ontime, ready to work with equipment and tools in hand and with a courteous and professional attitude. He spent the next 45 minutes diagnosing the air heater and running me through all the things that could go wrong. In the end, he flushed the system and provided an honest opinion that the air handler was working correctly, just that the water heater temperature had to be raised in order to generate hotter air.

Gerald was honest, knowledgeable and provided possible next steps to improving heating performance. He stayed true to his word and did not bill me as nothing needed immediate replacement. (I still tipped to cover his time and gas). Should something go wrong with my heater in the future, California Plumbing & Radiant Heating will be the first people I call!

She was also able to schedule me the same day I called. Once the plumber came, he was courteous and wore booties over his shoes so he doesn't get my carpet dirty. I found Natalie on Craigslist for a clog that I was having in my bathroom. I was happy that she actually showed up on time and was very professional. I have two young children and what I liked the most was that she was friendly and maintained her work area clean. I felt confident due the fact she explained what she was doing and didn't dodge any of my questions. The best thing though is that her prices are very reasonable.

Chris arrived 1/2 earlier then the two hour window, that was a plus. After I explained the issue he got right to work and unclogged the kitchen sink drain and it works great! Professional and explained each step to fix the issue.

We have been using Abante for years, they are always on time and are usually able to make same day stops. they are on the pricy side but the plumbers working for them are all very nice and know what they are doing.

I was hoping to get help from Abe to do a lighting job. He seems knowledgeable about handyman work, but his communications decisions left something to be desired. After an initial phone call where we discussed the potential job, he texted me that the job would cost $150-200. A few days later I made an appointment with him to come to my house at 2:30 p.m., which was the time he suggested. He confirmed that this would work. (This exchange was in the morning of the day of the appointment.) Then, 25 minutes before the appointment time, he texted: I just put it in the GPS. I didn't realize how far you up in the hills. I can still do the job but at least for $225. I then called him, and agreed to pay him a $225 flat rate -- even though I'm accustomed to paying for handyman work by the hour -- if he would take a look at my leaking sink as well, and fix it if he could, as long as he would be making the drive. After seeming to suggest that would be OK, he hung up abruptly after saying OK. So it was unclear at that point if he was going to come to my house. I texted him and called him a few times over the next hour, seeking clarification on whether he was driving over, but the texts were unanswered and the calls went straight to voicemail. Since he seemed to have blocked my number with the intent of ghosting, I called him from my landline. He then answered the phone. I asked whether he was coming by or not -- can you just tell me one way or the other? He said no. I asked if there was a reason. He then hung up abruptly, similar to the previous call. Not quite sure what happened, but I think a potential customer at least deserves to know whether a service provider -- with whom an appointment was made -- will or will not be making the appointment. If Abe had just told me, no, I can't come, that would have been acceptable. But the ghosting practice and abrupt phone call terminations, in my view, are poor business practice, and I hope that Abe (who seems to be a nice guy) learns something from this experience.
