Young man arrived on time fixed my disposal recommended things NOT to put into it and left good job. I asked about fixing the leaking faucet in the back garden and the quoted price was $372.00 so I did not have him do that.

Our experiences with Albert Nahman have always been incredibly positive. The folks that work for the shop are always on time, they explain what the problem is, taking the time to show us photos and explain the parts that are broken, and they are always kind to me and my family. We live in a very old house and they are great at coming up with innovative solutions to the problems that arise between modern plumbing and old houses.

Could not have been better. Explained everything in detail. Gave us options. Very impressed.

Chris recommended a needed cleaning of the furnace fan, showing me the dog hair on the fan blades. I did not even know it was possible to clean the fan. He removed it and quickly vacuumed and reinstalled the fan. It runs much better and the air in our house now seems light. It was excellent service. We had other furnace servicing, but no one had ever recommended performing this messy task. Tim SullivanChris calmly fixed a toilet chamber, securing a new valve and tank system, despite the fact that the serial number on the tank initially led to the wrong part.

They were quick to respond, courteous, and easy to work with! Quotes were provided by the next day and they were able to get the repairs done the day after the work was engaged. They left everything neat when they were done. Couldn’t have asked for better service.

Herminio came to fix a leaky toilet. The leaky toilet had bothered me for years. I could not fix it right. I’m most impressed with Herminio’s integrity and honesty. He told me what was wrong and gave me his honest opinion. I elected for him to fix it. Thank you Hermanio and thank you Me. Nahman for having good people in your company. Finally I’m worry free with my toilet!

Jared appeared promptly, less than an hour after I called in a leak. The diagnosis remains problematic, however, since there doesn't appear to be an obvious source for the water that appeared. We will continue to monitor the situation to try to further diagnose the problem. Service was very professional and helpful

Both of the things that I had fixed were flaws in a recent remodeling job. The technician who came out was quick to diagnose what was wrong, fix it, and check to make sure that the fix worked. With regard to the washing machine installation, the installer had reversed the hoses and that’s why I was not getting cold water when I was doing delicates. With regard to the noise that the shower was making, it was due to a faulty valve. I could not be more pleased with the service.

Victor is friendly and, his work is thorough and meticulous . He may be a bit slow, but he gets the job done right. He also did a small extra job for me, which I really appreciate

Albert Nahman Plumbing responded very quickly to my request and the very next day Stanley King came to my home. He immediately found the broken water pipe and repaired it by installing a new connection. I was impressed by his professionalism and attention to the problem. Also, I was gratified by the assistance from the office staff when they realized that they had overlapping appointments and resolved those issues in a helpful and friendly way. I will definitely used Albert Nahman in the future.

Albert Nahman Plumbing replaced old galvanized steel pipes with new copper pipe, and installed a pressure reduction valve as per my request. They were on time, performed their work in a promptly and professionally, and cleaned up thoroughly. I will use them again in the future if the need arises.

Our hot-water heater failed and we were in desperate need of a new unit. Nahman plumbing responded quickly and within 24hrs Enrique was dispatched with a replacement water heater. Enrique did a great job, installation was much better than our previous heater, and Enrique was very clean and respectful of our house. I would highly recommend Nahman Plumbing, they seem to have top-tier people!

We've used them several times and each tech has been great. Friendly, professional, on-time and ver knowledgeable. They're not the cheapest but I've used a cheaper option once and had a horrible experience so I have only used Albert Nahman since.

Mr. Brown came to my house to give me a quote to install an Automatic Shut off Valve, for Earthquakes, on my PGE gas line.He was on time, Friendly, and Knowledgable. I felt it was a fair quote so I went with his company to do the job.The Plumbing Tech was scheduled for the next day. He was on time, professional and friendly. Fredelio did the install of the Seismic Shutoff valve on my PGE gas meter. He answered all my questions and showed me how it works and how to reset the Valve after an Earthquake.

Jose was polite and competent. We figured out what replacement parts I need to order for my malfunctioning faucets and which part of the job (repair tankless electric water heater) needs to be done by some other company.

Stanley visited my house after the bad storm two days ago. He was doing a follow up, as the initial work did not measure up. Stanley quickly defined the issues and explained the situation in terms a layman could understand. He gave several alternatives in case it became a more complicated issue. He redid the drainage work on both ends of the sump pump and finally got the system to work as originally designed. He checked the system to ensure it will work. On top of that, Stanley did a quick fix on a toilet and told me how to fix it myself if it goes off again. He outlined several suggestions if we want to check the back yard pipes. Stanley was very professional and clearly very experienced. Now let us hope our wild storms calm down so everyone can have a break.Rick

They came because my thermostat was only intermittently responding to a Williams gas wall unit heater. Nahmans suggested that it was a part in the heater itself, they replaced the part for $300+ and then told me the unit was probably old and that they could replace it for $5000 and left. The heater continued to work only intermittently. I asked them to come back as the original problem had not been resolved. They did came back and found that the pilot light was off, presumably from high winds the night before. They lit the pilot and left and the heater continued to respond to the thermostat intermittently. I did not call them back as they had now twice been out (and paid) and the original problem persisted. Today, another handyman looked at it and noticed a loose screw in the thermostat, fixed that and now the wall heater works. Consequently, I do NOT recommend Nahmans for work on wall units.

Arrived within time period. Courteous, knowledgeable, professional. Clearly explained his trouble shooting steps, what he found, action he took to correct the problem. Very satisfied with Albert Nahman heating service.

We needed new shower fixtures and he brought new Moen ones and installed them. Pleasant, efficient and neat. Thank you, Moises!

We had a clog in our two bathrooms that connect so were unable to use the drains. We called the company we have used in the past, and they weren't able to come until at least 24 hours later. Since we needed to use our bathrooms, we wanted something sooner. I called Albert Nahmann and they were extremely helpful, were able to get someone out in an hour and were super communicative even before they arrived. Damon was able to fix the problem in no time, as well as fix another issue we had that we didn't even call about. We will absolutely use Albert Nahmann again

Nathan is fantastic! Our tankless water heater stopped working last night. I contact them in the midnight and they responded me early in the morning before I wake up: ) I was be able to scheduled an appointment at noon the same day. And here comes Nathan! He arrived on time and quickly figure out what’s wrong with our water heater. He went to get a part in Walnut Creek and come back within an hour or so. It only took him less than 10min to get things done! Now we have hot water again, thanks god! Thank you Nathan! BTW I was able to use the couple and it saved me total $50! Will definitely use this company again if there’s anything wrong with our heater and sewer!

Technician showed up outside of appointment window ($95 charge for a consultation!), did not do anything except provide a quote for 2x more than competitors for incorrect work. He also lied to be about needed work to bring plumbing up to code as well as couldn't explain why he needed to do this work. Always get multple quotes for contract work, but skip these guys

Scheduling folks were great, very responsive to calls and kept me in loop with plenty of time when changes to schedule needed. Service rep Nathan was awesome. Knowledgeable, super friendly and respectful and did a great job. Highly recommend. Level of professionalism all the way around was great.

AC didn’t have code air. So I called the company and they were able to give the next day schedule. It works great now. Thank you for the timely response and reasonable price.

Our Toto toilet was not flushing properly. Jose arrived early in the window of time given. He was kind and professional. He was able to fix the issue and explained the likely cause of the problem.

Mr. Nahman found the problem right away. He fixed it in about 2 minutes. Well done and excellent work.

I was pleased with the prompt estimation by Ed for our bathroom sink faucet replacement , water pressure regulator and house shut-off valve. Bryon did a nice bathroom sink faucet installation and cleanup. Nick and others had the bigger job of installing the water pressure regulator and house water shut-off valve. The work was done properly and everything was cleaned up nicely. For my benefit, Nick patiently explained what was being done. Thank you!

Steve-assessed a leaking pipe, replaced it, assessed my water meter to determine for broader leaks in my home and educated me on how to determine if a pipe is busted my looking at our water meter. He also educated me on water heaters-regular and tankless. Kind, efficient, professional, and good quality service. They came out to help quickly as well. Would recommend.

Update 12/4/19: after they asked to reschedule because of emergency repair requests (ours isn’t an emergency so it was fine with me), Nathan came back with a colleague to do the cleaning. The colleague was called away at some point, and the cleaning took way longer than expected so after cleaning one of our two furnaces, Nathan gave me the option to either have him stay to do the second one and he’d reschedule his other appointments or to reschedule for the other. Since ours is only a routine cleaning, I let him go to his other more urgent appointments and rescheduled. Bummer that they don’t have enough healthy people to handle all their calls easily, but I really appreciated that I was given the option to reschedule or not. Feels like they’re trying to strikes good balance of valuing my time and trying to manage other urgent calls.The appointment was easy to make, the technician was on time, and it felt like Nathan did a great job! He checked the furnace and took pictures, explained his findings, and checked for carbon monoxide. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to do the cleaning on the same trip. so he'll be back next week for the cleaning.

Representative Ismael was very professional and thorough, completed the work efficiently, clearly explained exactly what needed to be done, thoroughly answered all of my questions , and shared future maintenance considerations. My initial experience with Albert Nahman wasn’t quite as thorough with another rep/office, but Ismael was great!

Nicholas was honest, professional, clean and efficient. He installed a new under the sink water filtration system for our kitchen sink along with a new faucet. I would call Nicholas again to help for future plumbing needs.

Tony quickly diagnosed the issue with my boiler and fixed it. He also shared important maintenance items I can do myself to keep the equipment healthy and running longer.

The water pressure in our house was low and our hot water heater was 20 years old, so it was time to have it replaced. The Albert Nahman service person tried to convince me that the problem was our 20 year old copper pipes, and told me they all needed to be torn out and replaced. He pointed to the small amounts of patina on our copper, 20 year old uninsulated COLD water pipes, and told me, that the rust inside was preventing the water from moving through the house. There was no involved inspection, just a call with his supervisor, who probably encouraged him to upsell us. He even said we needed to replace our connection to the street. Again, our only problem was HOT WATER, not cold. He quoted us 15K to replace all of our pipes, including the shower, and we would have to hire a separate contractor to replace the shower wall. They would throw in a new hot water heater for 3K as a special deal. I turned down the offer, hired a smaller family own business who replaced our water heater and only charged us $2600, $400 less than this Albert Nahman's Special Offer and no run around with unnecessary, expensive work. Wanna feel like a chump? Albert Nahman Plumbing is the company for you.

Chris was amazing! I’d give him 5/5 stars for his help, time, and professionalism.The quote to fix a 15$ pipe was $705 dollars. Yes I asked them to secure the pedestal sink back to the wall. But still that price was outrageous. Maybe they think with the 95$ fee to come and just give an estimate will force people to say yes to their outrageous price$. Gave this company a chance and I will never be coming back or referring them to people looking for a plumber. Took me 15 minutes to do the whole job by myself and I have zero plumbing knowledge just was smart enough to use YouTube. Albert Nahman Plumbing is a scam. As always, the technicians and the office staff were very helpful and professional. They came out and worked in the storm and repaired are sump pump so that our property didn't flood. We are grateful to have them as a vendor.

I had a list of items I need plumbing help with. Tad was a great service person. He explained items beautifully. He didn’t try to push sales, some items were very simple and easy to handle. He plans out how he was going to manage the projects and they were out in a shorter amount of time than I had imagined.He was friendly and easy to work with. He also arrived with an assistant. Job well done!

Albert Nahman made an effort to keep me informed of every step in the process, from the initial investigation to construction. They brought the right people to the first visit, and answered all my questions clearly. They were the only contractor who could properly advise me on the implications of a heat pump water heater, both electrical and plumbing. They arrived on time to do the work and finished early, leaving the work area clean and all the connections neatly executed. Every communication was professional.

As always, all of the folks at Albert Nahman Plumbing were super! We got the work scheduled, Gustavo came to the house right on time and made the repair quickly and in a quality manner. Gustavo was courteous, compassionate and professional! We always call Albert Nahman for plumbing work; they know us and we know them. Did an excellent job installing new faucet and garbage disposal and plumbing apparatus. Repaired plumbing leak in bathroom caused by a pipe cut too short. We had a clogged slow draining issue in our laundry room. I hired this group to diagnose and fix the issue. Carlos who is a supervisor finally determined the problem after trying to clear the clog failed using a plumbing snake. Using an in pipe camera system he determined exactly the issue and the next morning two others came and dug up the faulty drain connection and repaired it. They answered all my plumbing questions easily and did not me looking over their shoulders each step of the way. Given the gravity of the issue I was more than willing to pay their fees. In my mind the payment was well worth the effort and speed in implementing the solution.

Tony was thorough and competent and a pleasure to work with. He has serviced our home many times in the past. Today he adjusted our new radiant heater so that it would heat the house more quickly. He then showed me how to reset it should there be a power outage. I highly recommend him and Nahman Heating and Plumbing very highly! He is the best!!!!!

The repair took 1 minute because the switch to the system was turned off. I had to pay $95 fir1 minute job. Please have your website and receptionist ask question(1)Check to see if the switch is turned on ?Your customers would love you for this and don’t get mad at you for charging someone $95 to turn the switch on,

I am very pleased with the service provided by both this company AND the individual associate/plumber.Stanley was top-notch. He saw that I was interested in the details as to what was wrong/his diagnosis and drew me a quick color-coded sketch of where the overflow was/where stoppage/issue was and explained how he would repair. He was great! Super knowledgeable and able to target the problem AND complete the repair in the same visit. His resolution was WAY better than a competitor’s suggested solution.I will be calling on Albert Nahman Plumbing again. Waking up to a water heater leak is not the way to start your day. Javier and Alex provided excellent service - fast, friendly, neat and patient! The service recently received at my house for copper replacement pipes was excellent. Rafael did a very good job and Tad is amazing. They were both very helpful, professional, and went the extra mile to make sure all was working well.

Deepak from Albert Nahman Services was great to work with. I have a 90 year old home with some old pluming. Apparently we had a small on going leak for a while. We were not aware of it because the leak would dry by the time we got back home. Know that we are quarantine, we are constant washing dishes. We had Deepak out last Friday, he gave me my options, I choose the minimal job knowing I was gabbling the bigger job my kitchen really needed. We had to have them back in on Monday to change all the pluming. I requested to have Deepak back in since he already new the situation with my pluming. He was efficient, clean and fast.

Deepak was on time, got everything done quickly and offered helpful advice on other plumbing issues unrelated to what we called about. Very professional and great to work with! I got a text that tracked his arrival when he was on his way which was great.

These guys are great, they know what they are doing and are very professional and fair. Most recently Stanley was able to work out a block in our old plumbing that was very tricky to fix, he came up with a creative solution and clearly is an expert in plumbing. I also love that they put booties on their shoes before entering the house and even on their equipment wheels!

Alex and partner, Cory proofed to be honest and trust worthy. Unfortunately our wall heater is too old to repair. No service charge. When it is time to replace the heater we will go to this company

Jose replaced further sections of rusting steel pipe nipples that were installed by an in a hurry remodeling contractor. Same contractor had installed an unauthorized cheap ball valve in my laundry room. This valve had rusted out and blew it's handle off and started flooding my laundry room and garage just as Jose was getting started to work. I am sooo lucky Jose and Sam were here. They stopped the water, wet vacuumed the whole location and then fixed the broken valve. They were amazing! They then went back and finished the original job. Double the five star rating to 10 because that's what they deserve.

Ted has incredible knowledge and expertise regarding everything he has looked at in our house over the years, and again just now concerning the tankless water heater. Doing the tune-up and timer control adjustments and full checkout of the component maze under the hood required confidence and savvy. He aced it, and on top has a great personality!

The technician came on time, and was very careful with his work. When he noticed a little leak after the installation, he went to the store and bought a replacement. Spent extra time until it was done right. He also adjusted the water pressure per request more than once.

The technician was clear in the explanation of the diagnosis of the problem and the work he had to do in order to clear my sewer lateral. He was efficient and helped me to understand the problems of my main line as it connects to the street. He provided options and insight on how to prevent the problem from reoccurring. I was thoroughly pleased.

Tony was great. He was able to diagnose and repair the pilot light issue without using a more extensive approach. The one thing was he did some cleaning of the burners as there was debris collected from over the decades but he didn’t mention how much it would cost. So when he was done the bill was quite a bit higher than I imagined. It would have been nice if he had mentioned how much more it would be before doing the work. That being said, I am very happy to have a working furnace again.

We called the company and they were able to send out a repairman the next day. The repairman was experienced and knowledgeable. He examined the whole system and from my description of the problem he knew what to test right away. He found two parts not working. He had one on his truck but had to order the other. He charged a reasonable price and said he would try to return the next day to finish the job . Okay so far.

We have hired a plumber (Fernando) and A/C repair person (Alex) from Albert Nahman Services so far and both have been great. Both times, they explained in detail the issues so that we have the knowledge to remediate the issue ourselves should it occur again. It's rare that service people will try to teach you how to DIY to save money. The business also happens to be a good neighbor to our community so we always want to support that.

Albert Nahman comes through again! Deepak arrived on time, diagnosed the issue, obtained the part, and got our hot water running in record time. Thank you, Deepak.

Can not imagine a better response from my reaching out for assistance, response time and how Tad methodically diagnosed the problem. We have an obscure kitchen fixture that required service in Feb 2019. Under warranty the problem was easily diagnosed by me, caused by me and a replacement part sent and installed by Albert Nahman team. I broke the faucet cartridge. Problem of restricted hot water flow in this kitchen sink only. Turns out that new cartridge part is now malfunctioning. I called and Tad arrived taking a step by step approach ruling out causes. The company that sells the product got on the phone with Tad and they collaborated on the problem and the tech person gave Tad one more thing to try. After the collaboration it is agreed, problem persisted and therefore that new cartridge part is now malfunctioning and will be shipped free of charge in two days.Thanks to all, who made this possible and I trust we will have Tad here again soon to finalize this fix. BTW, cost of service was less than expected given going rates for such a call lasting in excess of one hour. Another comment, spending time with Tad during the repair was a pleasure to have him explain, collaborate, listen and just chat. Questions on who to call next time, no question who I will call next time.

Leaky pipe under kitchen sink what a mess! Can’t live without the kitchen sink; so glad they were able to come out within a few hours of our call, repaired it quickly and efficiently. Jose was very professional, and a really nice guy even our dogs liked him.😎

I have an older house and over the years I have had the unfortunate need to call on many occasions different plumbers out to take care of our multi-unit property.I now only have one plumbing company I call -- Albert Nahman plumbers have been professional and honest. They absolutely won my repeat business when they told me NOT to do some extra work I was considering. They passed up on a buck on that occasion, but won my future business.It is that kind of long-term business professionalism that I have come to appreciate about them.(Oh, and as they work in the East Bay they have never been surprised at my 50's era plumbing fixtures!)

Needed sewer clean out due to near overflow catastrophe last week. Call center reps were helpful. Automated notification system worked well. John and Sam were thorough in performing the service. They set up camera on phone so I could watch the initial process and explained what I was seeing. They used a hydro technique rather than snaking. After the job, John explained about the sewer lateral situation. I have combination of galvanized and clay pipes. All in all, a pleasant experience. Great job John and Sam!

Our tankless water heater needed to be serviced and because we hadn't been able to find who provides this maintenance, it was well past the window of usual maintenance.But Diondre did a fantastic job ...he assessed the work, picked up the extra parts needed and provide the work the same day. He was professional, friendly and cleaned up after his work.I've now got a calendar invite set and we'll be scheduling Albert Nahman for the year service! Very satisfied with the work!

Ismael Cortes the technician was terrific and solved my leaking problem. However, i have requested a call from management four separate times over 4 weeks to discuss ridiculously high pricing and have not gotten a call. Accordingly i would not recommend them based upon high costs and lack of response.

He diagnosed the leak, explained it to me clearly and suggested next steps for remediation. very careful, kept everything clean, i was able to work while he was here. excellent service. i am a repeat customer, this is my go to for plumbing

Far and away one of the best experiences with a technician I have had - not only did he speak with my property owner beforehand to ensure authorization and clarity regarding services about to be performed and cost, throughout the service period Stanley was clearly knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and efficient without being rushed. Highly recommend him and hope that this feedback supports his excellent work! Albert Nahman was easy to schedule with and great customer support from start to finish. Great local business.

We had a water heater leak. Jared and Moises came in and diagnosed the problem and replaced the unit in the same day. The cost was reasonable and they worked really quickly, navigating stairs to do so. I would definitely use them again.

Stanley with Albert Nahman was prompt, good, and thorough....Adding on to this review. Albert Nahman Plumbing did a spot sewer repair to fix a separation that was causing clogs. It was a few feet underground and a pain but they took care of it and patched everything back up.

I rarely post reviews. Nevertheless, the recent service from Albert Nahman was so exemplary, that I felt compelled to do so. If I could, I would award six stars. Actually, i've been a customer of Albert Nahman probably over 20 years. My antique water heater, between 15 and 20 years old sprung a leak and clearly needed to be replaced. I called AN and as usual the call was promptly returned. Matter of fact, much to my surprise and delight, a technician was sent out within the hour to give me an estimate. My house is quite large, situated on an incline. The water heater is located in a crawl space underneath the house. It is quite a hike to access the space. Alan, the technician was punctual, courteous and professional. I had an estimate the same day. I scheduled the water heater replacement for the first available date which was 6 days from the time of my call.Meanwhile, the leaking water heater shut down entirely. This was on a Saturday. With little hope I called AN and Angelique came to my rescue. She could move up the appointment to Monday morning! Again I was delighted by this accommodation. The technician Mowadan (please forgive any misspelling) was superb. He was very courteous, professional and efficient. He even gave me some pointers how to replace my air filter on the furnace. We've had them do many different jobs over the years, big and small, in our home and a rental property. Easy to set up appointments, by phone or their website, and they show up as promised. All the staff I've met have been very professional and friendly - Stanley installed a new faucet for us today - he had useful advice, reminded me to look for a coupon, and left everything clean. Tad S. with Nahman Plumbing and Heating has thus far completed two plumbing jobs at our home - both more complicated and time consuming than expected but both completed perfectly. The clogged kitchen drain took their most heavy duty snake and was a messy job. The installation of a new kitchen faucet required the removal of an 80 plus year old one. Removing it required several hours labor on embedded pipe, frozen grout and tricky removal of irreplaceable vintage tile. Tad didn't stop working until the job was completed though it went through lunchtime. All tile was restored in perfect shape too! The work sites for both jobs were left cleaner than before the work began. In addition to being super competent and determined, Tad is friendly, a creative problem solver and generous with his time and advice. I highly recommend Tad and all the staff at Nahman.

Tony and his team at Albert Nahman were absolutely excellent. They came to install a new Tankless Water Heater at our house after our 15+ year old tank heater started leaking.They came in, got rid of the old unit, and swiftly installed a new Tankless system. Re-routing a larger gas line, a new flue, and installing the new Water Heater was all done in a day. I was absolutely amazed at how fast they worked, and at the superior quality of the install.Could not recommend them enough as the people to go to for such services.

Today was my first time using Albert Nahman Services and I couldn’t be happier with the level of service and professionalism that my technician Deepak provided during my service call. Deepak was able to troubleshoot the issue to determine that replacement was needed on both the supply lines and water heater burner element for my commercial water heater. He was also able to find out that I had a couple months left on my warranty which made me feel more comfortable with the situation in case a new water heater was needed. Albert Nahman has been my go-to plumber for some years now. This time I weathered some annoying scheduling issues at first, but Diana, the office manager, sorted them out well. Today Jose and his assistant were prompt and thorough. They completed replacing one of the two main lines to my sewer. We did a test run. Not a leak to be found. And they left my basement and backyard as they found it. I highly recommend them.

Horrible dispatch service, Amanda who I don't know, continued to refer to me as Luv or Friend totally unprofessional as she was taking down my information for immediate service.I called the next day to give feedback to Albert and he never called me.He's rich has been for decades now. I remember when he was humble and eager for business. Host holiday recognition parties for his staff for top sales etc. He use to give coupons away for money off on your next service. Not anymore he's all for self.Now the employees are forced to push products on you with sticker shock prices that to be paid in full.They walk in before assessing the situation or seeing if it can be repaired. They step out the truck quoting you a ridiculous price.Albert, you ought to be ashamed of yourself for price gouging in low income areas where your business resides.

Alex was very thorough. After pointing out that one of the heating/cooling zones was not functioning, he went into the attic and found the issue: a disconnected duct and a non-functional motor. Another appointment is needed to repair so hoping he's the one assigned: Alex is efficient, straightforward and knowledgeable.

We had a leaky drain pipe that needed repair and made an appointment with Albert Nahman to send over a plumber. The plumber they sent, Monowar, was excellent. He showed up on time, was very respectful of our home (took all necessary COVID precautions, covered his shoes with plastic booties to prevent tracking in dirt), and did great work. It turned out that the damage was more than initially thought -- the pipe was cracked in addition to one of the couplers leaking -- but he stayed and got it all fixed.I will definitely use these guys again for further plumbing work.

I was quite impressed with Chris Hassett and the work he did. It was quite a busy time i.e., just after the heavy winds and rains, but Chris correctly diagnosed the problem, ordered the replacement part, installed it and made sure everything was in working condition before he left. The best experience ever I’ve had with a plumber, given that the problems they help you fix is almost always costly.I received a referral from my neighbor, and being frantic about my leak that I had discovered two weeks ago and forgot about until I happened to have to go under my sink - immediately (in the middle of the night) wrote to them, texted the number, and called the following day.Communication from initial contact to closing of work completion was stellar. (I reserved a star for future work.) They contacted me by text, phone call and email. When they had to reschedule, they fit me in the following day - my issue wasn’t necessarily an emergency in the scheme of things, but I think they understand that once a person has to call a plumber, responsiveness is critical.They sent me reminders via text and email; and when the plumber was on his way from the previous job, they also texted me. The two-hour window period was doable, but still, it was nice to receive notification that he was on his way.The plumber (Tri Doan) was professional, knowledgeable and respectful. I didn’t feel like I had gone to a car dealership and was treated according to my gender - the ladies know what I mean.Even marketing the membership deal was done patiently, using with the ipad app showing the difference between regular price and membership price, in addition to the perks one gets for the package. I saved the initial $25 off on repair, as well as received the discount not the work from having purchased the membership.While the actual repair wasn’t rocket science for the plumber - I couldn’t have done it myself - and don’t want to wear out my welcome with my male friends or relatives who know how to do these things; and I was able to get a clogged bathroom drain cleared (hair of course) all in the one visit, which was less than 2 hours.While it was a costly day from my perspective, had I delayed addressing both problems, it would definitely cost me more in the long run.Included in the annual membership is a plumbing inspection - which I will schedule after I recover from this (lol). Likely other issues will need to be addressed and scheduled.I am happy to recommend Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating based on this initial experience alone.

When placing our service call, I ask the person I spoke with the bring the best, highest quality garbage disposal unit they had. Unfortunately, the person we spoke with did not add that request to Angel's work order.But no worries! Angel left our house to grab what we wanted. He came back, installed it, and educated us on maintaining the unit. Angel was very kind and professional. This is one of the main reasons we keep coming back, they've always been honest and professional.

The technicians at Albert Nahman have been helping us to maintain and improve our 109 year old Berkeley home for several years. This month, Nicholas made a variety of repairs to our waste water pipes and then removed an approximate 50 year old shower stall and replaced it with new one including new shower fixtures. All this took about 2 days. I marvel at the speed and high quality of the work all done in a very professional manner.

My water heater was serviced by Stanley, who was professional throughout my experience. He volunteered helpful information several times, especially that the water heater manufacturer would probably pay to replace the worn-out part since it was just 4 years old. He called the manufacturer himself while I listened in to give info as needed. I ended up paying only the $49 service call, which makes me happy! I'm grateful that Stanley was so helpful & pleasant today.

Marcus was exceptional! He walked me through every step of the project and made sure to check in with me along the way if there was anything that came up. He relocated our A/C system seamlessly and serviced it fully to make sure we are ready for the hot days ahead. We needed to have a part replaced on our very old floor furnace. Chris replaced the mica glass in the cap and reconnected the gas to our furnace. Then he lit the pilot light for us.We recently needed a plumber to provide and install a p-trap and tailpiece underneath a bathroom sink. Jared completed the job efficiently in under an hour.

I'm usually good at clearing the drain lines in my house; you have to be when your house was built in 1891. But this time I couldn't get my kitchen sink to drain no matter what I tried so I called Albert Nahman Plumbing. I have used Nahman Plumbing for several years and each time the experience has been outstanding; they show up on time, their technicians are very skilled, friendly, get the job done quickly without any hassle, and guarantee the work they do. This time was no exception. Sal, one of their technicians, quickly determined what was going on and gave me an estimate of what it would cost to resolve the problem before he started. He also assured me that regardless of long it would take to resolve the issue, the cost would not exceed his estimate. Using specialized equipment he was able to clear the blockage, which it turned out was approximately 30 ft down the line. When he was done, Sal ran tests to make sure that everything was working properly and then he throughly cleaned the entire area where he had been working. Great customer service!

My backyard hose bibb was leaking, when I went to remove it I could tell it was not on a thread and being that I hadn't see a compression hose bibb before and didn't want to damage the pipe I called Albert Nahman plumbing. Tibby came out removed the old one cleaned the pipe and put on a brand new one. When he went to grab the bibb he told me he'd be back in an hour and was. Friendly guy very professional.

Tad S. came out to assess a tricky leak and spent 2 hours with me, crawling under the house and following pipes until we pinpointed the leak. It was hard to find, and now that we know exactly where it is, we can limit repairs to the affected area, rather than do a more costly bypass that had been recommended by another company. Jared arrived on time, explained the problem with my water heater, and quickly got it working again. He could have said it couldn’t be repaired and needed immediate replacement— but he didn’t. I just bought my place and knew from the inspector’s report that the WH is nearing the end of its life (15+ years old). I told him I just want to be able to limp along until I can research options and shop around. At my request Jared prepared quotes for replacement with a conventional gas, electric heat pump or tankless unit. No high pressure sales tactics applied when I told him I planned to shop around. A first rate outfit. I would call them again w/o hesitation.

No other plumbing and heating system companies we called were willing to repair our broken water heating system which connected to both radiant floor and domestic water. Tony Conteras is the in-house expert on these systems for AN, and he recommended exactly what we needed. He provided instant support, guidance, and pricing, and managed the entire project professionally, with great attention to detail, and there were no surprises. The install is very clean and professional. Even when the tankless water heater that was delivered had a minor damage in transport Tony procured new equipment the same day and within days we had a very solid upgrade to the old heating and water heater system inching all the old valves, pumps, thermostats which were outdated. We are extremely pleased with the new system and I highly recommend Tony for any complicated installations and if you value quality and professional service. We have had many plumbers over the years, and are most impressed with this firm.

Office staff was extremely unresponsive. I called to get status of replacement part on four different days. Each time I was promised a call back which I did not get. Finally I got through to someone who immediately scheduled a repair appointment. I had been waiting a month—Who knows when the part had actually arrived. The service person, Ismael, was prompt and helpful. I would have rated him highly.

They did a great job on my sewer clog situation a few months ago.Not so great on furnace maintenance. The $154 quoted as the service fee was not the 'cost of service'. The $154 was for the tech walking through the door. The actual minimal tune-up service was going to be an additional $500+!!! And the tech was primarily interested in selling me a $1600 air purifier. I paid him for walking through the door and determining that my furnace needed only a minimal tune-up and sent him on his way. Going to find another contractor to do the work.Later: They are refunding the $154. I appreciate that. Need to be up front about costs though. And more service and less sales from the tech.

I had a positive experience with a long overdue faucet repair. I had an appointment made for the next day, but due to a cancellation I was very happy to have same day service. Steve M. showed up and was very careful in my home, using shoe covers and making sure the worksite was cleaned up. I had a challenging job because I requested to keep my faucet which is original to my house, and it had rusted at some awful place where it made it a real job to get the old faucet out. He provided me options, and explained what it could cost to replace the faucet vs a possibly unpredictable repair. He gave me accurate estimates and my project was completed at the anticipated cost. Steve stuck with the challenge and was able to salvage my faucet, and made sure I was happy with the work before he left. I would be happy to have him work on my next project.

I called Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating this time because our water heater was leaking and the temperature kept getting lower over time. When I called I asked if they do repair and they said they try to repair instead of replacing if possible.I have used Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating multiple times and have had great experiences with them. Mauricio and Mike spent quite some time diagnosing and fixing my plumbing problems.Mauricio and Mike came to my house and told me the water heater could be repaired but it would only last a couple of years. Tomas and Tibby came out and fixed our kitchen sink leak and garbage disposal attachment. They did an excellent job. Even though it was a more difficult job than originally anticipated, they didn't take up too much time and were super nice about it. They also explained what they were doing as they were doing it it. Their great sense of humor was a big plus.They were very good about boot covers and face masks the entire time.

Our garbage disposal stopped working and we called Nahman. The tech who came, Jared, initially thought that the unit was broken and told us the price for a new one. We agreed to installation and he began. But he found the problem wasn't a faulty InSinkErator, but a bad power socket, and he told us. So we ended up paying only the $95 diagnostic fee. Thank goodness for honest workers!

Extremely quick response to our need--installation of a new water heater. a team of two men came out the same day and completed the work in a timely way. They were up for any challenge--in this case removing a very fat (recently deceased) squirrel that had gotten stuck in our exhaust pipe, and helped me to dispose of it. I appreciated their good humor about the surprise.

Chris was my technician and he provided maintenance to my tank less water heater. Water would get hot, but after 10 min or so, would go cold. Then, one had to wait for the water to get hot again. Before doing anything, he assessed the possibilities and communicated them to me. He also double checked with the main office for any parts that might be needed. Nathan came out to replace the faucet valves in our bathroom, and he was great! Professional, skillful, personable, and he went above and beyond by cutting down the valve stems to make them fit better in our sink. The price was fixed in advance, so he didn't have to do that, but it has made a real difference in the looks and operation of the faucets.

After much discussion with other technicians from Nahman, we had Enrique to install a small water heater under our kitchen sink, to help solve the problem of slow water heating from the central on-demand heater in basement. He worked efficiently and cleaned up well and explained both devices to me. The heater seems to be working very well, and providing a good solution to our problem.

Ray was fantastic! He arrived on-time, inspected my floor furnace (which I've learned is also called a gravity furnace), and was just overall very friendly and informative. I usually ask an annoying number of questions, but Ray happily answered all of my questions with straightforward, honest answers. He also didn't even bat an eyelash when he had to go down into our house's *incredibly* tight crawlspace. Could not recommend a technician more. Albert Nahman do quality work. However, the work was expensive. They charged me $375 for snaking my bathtub drain. They did the job well but I think the going rate is between $150 and $200. So they are a little bit on the expensive side.

I phoned to tell the front office how pleased I was with Alber Nahman Plumbers for two reasons: 1. The plumber with whom I interacted was terrific, and 2. We called Albert Nahman Plumbing after our heat stopped working and suddenly started blowing cold air. They sent out Mauricio the very next day to look at our entire HVAC/ heat pump system. We actually had 4 separate companies come look at the system as we are a small nonprofit and wanted to make sure we were getting accurate quotes. Of the four, Mauricio was the most thorough and the only technician who made sure to explain the problem to me instead of just telling us how much it would cost to repair. He even took photos to show me the damage to the system and where/how things had gone wrong. He was extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and trustworthy. He took his time to do everything right. This plumbing service is prompt and well coordinated, and the plumber skillfully addressed the issues we had. However, the service was hugely overpriced. I had two simple and quick plumbing jobs needing only two small washers and less than an hour’s worth of labor, and the cost was over $600. If you call Albert Nahman for any plumbing work, make sure to ask them for a quote before they do anything. In my case the quote wasn’t automatically offered up front. Definitely worth shopping around for less expensive service.

Tech made a house call, he was efficient, effective, and polite. Arrived in the 8:00 to 12:00 time window. Corrected the problem quickly. The charge was substantial for the work performed but not exorbitant. In effect I paid full price in order to have a pesky problem go away.

Our two 30 year old wall furnaces were replaced efficiently and timely today! Very respectful of our home which just had new flooring installed. Ensured all debris from removal of our 30 year old furnaces was contained and removed from the home. Answered any and all questions I had, and ensured I understood how my new digital thermostats worked! I also appreciated the company’s attempt to provide me with a sooner install date but the flooring install did not allow for that. Regardless, I so appreciated the effort!

Not only did he find the leak, but he provided a quick fix that allowed me to have water supplied to my property immediately while waiting for him to get parts to permanently fix the shower handle that needed to be replaced. It was more than I expected and at a very reasonable price

I've called on Albert Nahman Plumbing a few times and recently always request Deepak Sharma. While everyone is qualified, I prefer to build a relationship with one technician. I always request Deepak providing it's not an emergency service. In addition to knowing his trade and always providing professional service, he's respectful about being in someones home tidying up when finished and always finding the right solution, not cookie cutter, to address my needs.

Tony Contreras was professional, highly skilled, and responsive to my additional concerns. Jared Brown was also professional and responsive in making his estimate. Freddie Tumaneng was professional and responsive in replacing my water heater and my hot water recirculation pump. Christopher Willis was professional, skilled, and responsive in replacing my toilet.

Jared came to look over my cottage and give me an estimate on installing or improving my tankless water heater, which takes forevvver to heat water. As it turned out, it would cost too much for me to justify right now, but Jared was so polite and kind and patient in helping me to this conclusion, I will definitely call Nahman if I change my mind.

The guy who showed up was professional but I was able to find another very good company to do the work for half of what they quoted me. This place is a bit too expensive.

We were returning customers - excellent customers over the past 3 years. We called because our heat quit and we have a medically fragile child. They said they would send someone in 48 hours. During the time they said we could expect the technician, they cancelled. Then, they said they would get back to us before 9 the next morning to re-schedule. They did not. We called them. They said they would call before the end of the day. That was 10 days ago and we have not heard from them. NEVER AGAIN!

Chris was friendly and competent. He was also quick and repaired the issue.

I am formally a Facilities Director and used them many times. However, I called them and had them unclog a kitchen sink in my home. Once they arrived, the plumber didn’t have a basic part needed in his truck and left to get it. After he was done snaking my drain, he informed me I owed over $900. I was stunned but paid the bill with a credit card. I was told I’d receive a bill by email but that never happened. BEWARE!!!! Don’t think about using them unless you get a quote up front. I still feel burned by them to this day.

I had scheduled preventative cleaning, but after initial video inspection my old sewer lateral required complete replacement due to multiple breaks in the clay pipes and root intrusions. Trench-less lateral replacement was used. The team was clearly very skilled in this method and the work went very smoothly, with only a short interruption of service. More expensive than I was planning, but this is a permanent solution, completely eliminating the risk of future obstruction, and the need for periodic maintenance. Peace of mind: priceless!

I have an electric wall heater that wasn't working. I called Kruse and the repairman's response was Oh, we don't do electric--they're too unreliable and break down. I fully expected to have to buy a whole new system which would cost thousands of dollars. When Tad arrived, he optimistically suggested we take a look at the heater, quickly removed the front, hit the reset button, and my heater immediately began generating heat. He thoroughly cleaned the unit and put the front back on. I was delighted to write a check for $165 rather than $5000. Albert Nahman plumbing took me seriously and bid a beefy Carrier humidifier. All other companies either no-bid, or proposed other much less effective units. Their technician, Alex Iglecias was competent, professional, and very personable. When the initial installation had a problem Alex came back on his day off to fix it.

I used this company for water pressure cartridge replacement. I bought the cartridge and had it available on site for them. They came promptly and on time. The estimate for the job was $704 - so 3 time higher than I would have expected. The plumber who came out was an “estimator”. If I did not accept the estimate they charged $100 for coming out, which might have been a reasonable thing to do if this was a big job. Water pressure cartridge replacement usually takes 30 min to a skilled plumber. I would not recommend this company to anyone who cares about value or price. I sent a complaint to the owner, but have not heard back from them.

Fernando installed new tub and prepared all plumbing connections, new tile and enclosure wall. Re-piped bathroom including replacement of pipes in the walls and under the house. And replaced all walls and openings, fabricated custom cover for access hole and sealed everything. All fixtures work great, don't leak and look professional!

Jose arrived promptly at at the agreed time and installed the new faucet. It now works great! He had earlier suggested that I buy the faucet since Nayman did not stock it and I would save by buying it myself.He also looked at a shower that was not functioning very well and suggested that I could simply solve the problem by buying a new shower head.I have used Nahman in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

I was having an issue with my shower water temperature and Chris came to evaluate. He listened, performed some diagnostic tests, and explained how I could remedy the problem. He also advised me on what NOT to do with my tankless water heater, which would save me money or at least buy me time before it needs replacement.

THE REVIEWER CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT.Was quoted $1,500 to fix a rattling pipe at my shower and faucet. When I asked how much less it would cost if I bought the part myself, (a simple water valve) the person giving me the estimate, (that I paid $95 for) then quoted me $1,000.This made me suspicious because I knew for a fact that there were no parts on the faucet or the valve that cost $500.So I went down to the sink factory, on San Pablo avenue off of the corner of Delaware Street in Berkeley, and explained my problem, got a valve, and a Delta water diverter, (The little pull-up thing, that diverts water to the shower as opposed to the tub) and just finished installing it all myself and under an hour.Cost: Under $100, including my time.Disappointed by yet another old school Berkeley establishment (I no longer recommend The People's Mechanic on San Pablo either) that had a great reputation and totally let me down. I cannot recommend this place.I'm sure they will comment below, with some polite word salad and spin, and say something to try to straighten it out and save face, but in this case, an ounce of prevention would have been worth a pound of bad review.Lesson: Seniority does not equal Superiority

From the beginning of my washer drain saga, each of the technicians who came were AWESOME. I called Albert Nahman as a second opinion (independently) after a terrible experience from a plumbing company my warranty company hired when the issue first arose after being in my place only ONE WEEK. They were so nice and professional, informative and communicative through each step of the process of their work. Each technician took the time to explain the issues they saw and what the fix would be for the issue. They were patient with my follow up questions and made feel feel truly supported in my dilemma. Everyone worked really quickly to resolve my issue. A lot faster than what it took trying to go through my warranty company.. I truly enjoyed having them in my home. They brought me so much ease. The way they repaired and repiped the washer drain looks SO NICE and elegant. It's very aesthetically pleasing and my design brain is thrilled about how nice it looks. (LOL sorry if that's a weird compliment). I'm extremely grateful for the work they did.

2 men arrived about 1/2 hr late, and began thorough job. Fairly courteous.Though I had questions about their competence, both guys did a fine job.They even saved us some $ by suggesting that we did not need 2 sinks pumped out. They installed toilet seat that we had ordered, and had parts on truck needed for basin repair. Also installed under kit. sink water filter. Very satisfied with their work.

Arrived on time and explained how they would repair the leaking pipe. They quickly removed a section of sidewalk to get to the pipe and repaired the leak in no time. They then repaired the sidewalk. Jose and his workers were always courteous and answered all my questions. I will certainly call them again for any plumbing problems.

Awesome service! Bart McCoy, plumbing professional, is extremely knowledgeable about plumbing and heating. He explained to me the steps he had to perform in order to get my family and I going with hot water. I felt very comfortable and assured that he was doing everything possible to find the gas leak that had us very worried. Carlos Del Toro had excellent advice about the leak, probably a galvazined pipe under the bottom floor concrete slab: Contact a leak detection service (he recommended several) and have them pinpoint the leak. Oddly, after several days, the leak specialists came and the leak had plugged itself! Temporary I'm sure. Will be contacting Albert Naham again after we can locate the source of the leak.

Tad and team were nothing short of amazing. We had a horrible flood situation in our basement that resulted in 2+ feet of water - they were able to come out right away to tackle a number of time sensitive issues. They pumped out all of the water, fixed the broken pipe, and replaced the sump pump. They were the most professional and NICE guys - went above and beyond to help us. They even helped to remove the heavy personal belongings from the basement even though that was not in the scope of work. Thank you!

After discovering a leak in my basement, I called Albert Nahman to have them discover the cause and do repair. I was scheduled for between 12-2pm but got a text a little later for earlier time. When you have a leak, earlier is always better. The technician came, discovered the issue and repaired the problem all before my initial appt time. Thank you!

Parts needed for the master shower repair were ordered by the owner directly from Grohe according to the Plumber specification

Mr. Dunn and his assistant ran the snake twice nd removed the clog. They answered my questions and provided the information I needed to plan a long-term solution to my drainage situation. I'm looking forward to the camera inspection, which is the next step.

Our hot water heater's warranty was about up with the manufacturer. Nahman came out to replace parts for it, but would not give us a parts cost for their work, which we needed to submit for warranty purposes. We asked via phone and email numerous times, but they ignored us. They charge per job, parts and labor together, and, I guess, are too big to take the time, or, more likely they don't want people to know how much they're overcharging for their services. Highly unsatisfactory client interaction. Now the warranty's dead - hey, and so's our hot water heater - the fix didn't do it. Stay clear.

Many thanks to Ruben, Jose and Rafael for the execution and remediation of some plumbing problems in a timely manner and for their recommendations. They removed and replaced the remaining galvanized pipe in the house as well as the rerouting of some existing pipes. They arrived when they said they would and kept me apprised of any issues that they encountered. Over all everything was very straight forward and there were no surprises. If there is a need in the future I would have no issue with using Albert Nahman Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling.

I can't be more complimentary of the service we received from Albert Nahman Services, especially given that we're in the middle of the COVID crisis. When we determined that our 15 year-old water heater needed replacement, I called Albert Nahman and was immediately put through to Gabriel who suggested that we could do the initial site visit via Facetime. Within 15 minutes he determined that the replacement would be straightforward. After an hour or so of follow up texts and e-mails, we had a signed contract and an appointment for 9 am the next day. Gabriel and his colleague Fernando were on time. (Actually a few minutes early.) They were friendly, professional, communicative, competent and thorough, and meticulous about leaving the area clean.Just a great service experience all 'round. Thanks guys!

They gave me a diagnosis and estimate to repair my furnace.Chris, the technician, was very professional and nice and extremely patient as I talked to him the entire time he was working. He gets 5 Stars. The 4 Stars is for the company, service hours not convenient and they don't give a cost breakdown on estimates. This could be common practice but it makes me uncomfortable I like to know what I'm paying for.

Our second story tub/shower waste and overflow pipe sprang a leak and leaked into our kitchen. Nathan N. arrived promptly and correctly diagnosed the problem. He set us up with an appointment to repair the leak the very next day. Nathan was very courteous and easy to work with. We felt quite confident to know the repair process would be underway quickly. The next day, Nick and Alfonso also arrived promptly. They were able to efficiently replace our broken waste and overflow pipe within 3 hours. We are so pleased to be able to shower again!

This business is truly a professional organization. We’ve had three different visits about our tankless water heater and they were able to solve the immediate problem that it was having but in the end we all came to the same conclusion, the unit had to be put down for our sanity and s new one had too be put in. Carlos (who was new to the company) came to our house, crawled through our creepy crawlspace, and thoroughly inspected things and diagnosed the problem. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and answered a ton of questions about other plumbing work we are considering doing to upgrade our house. (Thankfully the problem didn't need immediately fixed, but when we choose to do so, we will use them.)We certainly hope we don't have more issues with heating or plumbing, but the Albert Nahman team has been fantastic 2 out of 2 times. We would use them again in a heartbeat if something arises!

They designed and installed a mini ductless air conditioning (and backup heating) system for my entire house. This was a fabulous, exceptional service experience. The service was highly professional (and timely--rare these days), and all of the folks I dealt with were friendly, helpful and just plain nice. After the system was installed, it needed a correction and they came back just a few hours after I called. If I had any criticism, I wouldn't hesitate to relate it here; but I was 100% satisfied and pleased.

Jose D. came to our house to fix a stuffed up drain. He came half an hour early (which I appreciated), snaked the drain quickly and efficiently, and also cleaned up our bathtub afterwards (unnecessary but I was SO grateful--it wasn't something I was looking forward to after the draining). Our bathtub is old and had that old grime on it and accumulates dirt quickly. He introduced me to a product called the Scouring Stick made of natural pumice stone which cleans enamel without damaging it. In a couple of minutes, he had used up the entire stone and our bathtub was the cleanest I have EVER seen it. I highly recommend his services. I have no complaints.

Albert Nahman does an excellent job communicating before the appt from confirming appt window via email to text alerts when the tech is on the way. After the diagnosis, the tech gave me a honest assessment and options (without pressure on the upsell) to resolve the issue. It was refreshing to have a transparent conversation about the heating system so I can make an informed decision on maintenance or replacement.

Demone came to diagnose why the furnace would not heat. Took all of, maybe, 30 seconds to do it. The electric fan motor had frozen; so we ordered a new one and that will be swapped in for the frozen one when the new one arrives in a couple of days.This is a change in the review on 7/20/23 due to recent events.Even though the problem was easily found, it’s still not fixed more than two weeks later. Why? No clue. But that’s the issue. No one from A. Nahman has gotten back to me to let me know why the delay, why the “couple of days” has stretched out to become a couple of weeks.I called Customer Support yesterday and basically asked, “What’s up?” So the support person offered that someone would call be back. No one called back.So I called again the next day. Again the support person offered that the “Dispatcher” would call me. She also verified that she had this project, and my address and telephone number in her files.The dispatcher did call and told me the part was enroute. En route after two weeks. Anyway she claimed that the part should be in “next week.” That’s week two since Demone paid his visit.And I’ve had no heat or air conditioning for three weeks because Demone didn't do the first visit until a week after the heat went out. So I’ve reduced the five stars to four stars for the lack of customer communications.This is another change in the review on 7/31/23Still nothing back from anyone at AN. In fact the response by AN management to my earlier review is the only feedback that I've gotten from AN. It's been 21 days since the first visit in 7/10 that found the frozen blower motor. And in that time not one technician or management has sent me any sort of situation report as to what's going on. That's four weeks now without heat or A/C as they are interconnected.I appreciate the revised response from management here in Google. But it would have been more appreciated and appropriate had that response been texted to me to let me know what's up?Another reduction...to three stars.Final change in the review on Aug 1, 2023.I cancelled my work order to repair my furnace. Two days lacking of one full month from the time I called AN for a serviceman, the furnace is still not repaired. And even worse, I continue to get no feedback as to why there is such a delay.So I've given up on Albert Nahman. They are not responsive and fail to provide the customer with reports as to what is going on with a project.Reduced to two stars.

I called Albert Nahman and they were able to send out a technician the following day. I had 3 very different things that needed fixing; sump pump, toilet, and duct/vent issues. Chris arrived on-time and was very professional. He quickly determined what was wrong and was able to fix all of the issues. He even figured out and fixed a problem with my dryer that other companies could not fix. Chris was a great technician.

We had been very pleased with some plumbing repair and installation that Nahman did for us a few years ago, so when we needed HVAC help recently with a vent-duct invasion, we decided to give that side of their business a try.Our technician was Said, who was prompt, courteous, creative, and willing to work with me and accomodate my requests. He made creative use of several unusual tools we had on hand (like a snake pole) to extricate what turned out to be an abandoned birds' nest in our vent exhaust, and did a good job giving us a makeshift cover for the vent until we can get it fully repaired.I'd definitely call them again.…and update 2021, we had need of a plumber again, and called Nahman. This time we had Tad, who was amazing, and extremely fast; he took care of three separate issues in under an hour, including one I’d been very nervous about turning into a big deal.

I did not hire Albert Nahman Plumbing for our tankless water heater repair. A representative came to our house for an estimate. He claimed that our heater was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. I received several quotes from other plumbers and the price ANP quoted was double to triple the price quoted by others. They charge way too much.

Jared was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable when he came to provide an estimate for a leaky pipe in our basement.We are getting several estimates and do not yet know if we will go with Albert Nahman. If we do, we'll update with another review on the actual work. If we don't, it won't be because we were not completely pleased with Jared during the estimate visit!

Water suddenly went off and back on in our home, and afterwards our Rinnai tankless water heater was no longer working with error code P17. We called Nahman Plumbing (they originally installed it) and they came out same day, turned out it needed a complete service in any case to maintain our warranty. The maintenance went fine, but it turned out that the Venturi gas valve was faulty and needed to be replaced. The technician ordered the part directly to our home, and it arrived the next evening, which was Friday. Nahman plumbing was excellent -- I called them and they managed to send out another Technician (Tad) the next day (instead of the usual we'll come out early next week), and he had it installed and up and running by early Saturday afternoon. Turns out that the Venturi gas valve is an issue in these Rinnai tankless water heaters (both technicians mentioned they have seen failures recently in these gas valves), so hopefully Rinnai does something about their quality control issues.

Tony was able to resolve all our complicated problems with our solar system. He is an expert plumber who is fair, reliable, honest, and talented! My experience with Albert Nahman Plumbing has been terrific. I can't recommend their services highly enough!

I would give 4 stars based on the work they did. They were courteous and efficient. 1 star off because I was given an unrealistic time estimate that I planned around, so that kind of messed up my day--the job took about twice as long as I was told.I'm taking another star off because the communication was very bad leading up the job. I had to follow up a LOT to get it done. Their office people are also courteous, but the internal communication there is clearly pretty chaotic, at least lately.

I needed air conditioning and a major furnace overhaul. I'd heard that Albert Nahman plumbing was good so got a quote and a quote from other companies. The Nahman quote was about average but the service seemed better. Very professional. So I contracted with AN. Job finished today and I have to say it was done perfectly. Efficient, and everyone being very careful with masks and social distancing. You get a text / email when the crew is on its way. Albert turned up a couple of times in the 4 day job and thoroughly checked into everything. Very reassuring. Anyway the job is really well done and I am very happy with the work. I will certainly go back to AN for other heating / AC / plumbing jobs.

The service technician, Ben Schoy, did a fabulous job working with our older meter and appliances and stayed until the job was completely done (even though it was after 6:00 p.m.). He was polite and informative. This would be a five-star rating were it not for the last minute cancellation by Nahman and the late start on the rescheduled date, about which the office people were not very polite or helpful.Thank you, Ben!

A few weeks after moving into our home, I smelled a faint gas leak in my living room.PG&E confirmed it was coming from behind the wall. I was fortunate to find Albert Nahman. They sent Nathan, who took the time to investigate and search for the source of the gas leak. Thanks to his diligence Nathan was able to find the leak -- our source of troubles was a tiny leak coming from a joint under the floor. I am extremely thankful that Nathan was so thorough in hunting for this leak, and that we no longer have gas leaking into our living room.Update: I've since used them again to fix a leaking supply line. Mario stopped by and took care of that really quickly.

Terrible. They came out to my house and charged me $1900 and all they did was stare at my toilet and left. Compared to Val Betti Plumbing who charged $740 and unplugged my toilet and actually fixed the problem. I got results that Albert Nahman didn't give. Do not go here unless you want to be charged an excessive amount of money for nothing. Not worth it, terrible service and unprofessional.

Excellent work. They had to diagnose a pretty complicated problem with the water pipes in the midst of replacing galvanized pipes with copper, and they fixed it. Arrived on time, and finished when promised. Definitely not cheap, but worth the price. They left the place cleaner than it started despite a lot of walls that were opened. The wall patching sub-contractor was also excellent, and came two days later and returned everything to normal.

This was a visit to provide an estimate for replacing a water heater that is part of a Hydronic system. It was the first time, after having 5 other vendors over to provide estimates, that I felt the technician knew what he was looking at and how to work with the system. I received a detailed quote within two hours. I made feel confident that the work will be done right!

Our backyard sump pump was buried in debris and inoperable after heavy rains. Jose arrived on time , quickly assessed the scope of the work and gave me an estimate for the necessary repairs. The job proved to be even more difficult than he expected, and I assumed he would need to return another day to complete the job. He stuck with it, however, and finished the work around six PM. He had thoroughly cleaned out the sump to its original six foot depth. He also removed, cleaned and reinstalled the pump after restoring it to full function. Even though the job turned out to be more difficult and took longer than expected he stayed with the original estimate. I couldn't be happier and was impressed with Jose's work ethic and professionalism.

After a several days without hot water due to our serious loss of power, Chris was thorough in his problem diagnosis and helped us assess our options to make the clear decision to repair our tankless water heater vs, replace, which another plumber had quickly tried to persuade us to do. Instead of a replacement that would have cost thousands of dollars, Chris narrowed the problem down to the ignitor assembly, which cost us $350 instead. Given this experience, I would definitely use Albert Nahman again.

Dedicated, trustworthy, and thorough. Those are the things you want most from your plumber, and that is what I got from Nahman plumbing. My hot water heater died -- a tankless, which are harder to fix given technicians are more difficult to find -- and initially Nahman plumbing could not come out right away given it was an extra busy week. My appointment was Friday and when they realized I needed a replacement, the whole company kicked in, ordering a new replacement (not easy over the weekend!), rescheduling the electrician and the other team members to do the 4-6 hour install first thing on Monday to coordinate when the parts would arrive. Jarred looked at what was the problem and solved it. Snake didn’t work the 1st time, so he ran it again. Jared looked determined to get it cleared. After 2nd snake run, he described what the build up resembled…gross, but accurate imo. All done in about 30 mins. Quick and efficient.

I am not sure if I got the lemon plumber or what happened, but completely unresponsive after coming to provide an estimate, sending the wrong estimates and after multiple calls finally I get a manager to call me back that fails to follow up and sends me the wrong work estimate. A complete waste of time. Stay away from them if you want to get something done. Overall I have a 3000 dollars water filtration system that they recommended as the one they install and no plumber. Lots ofntalk and no walk.

I called to schedule an appointment with Albert Nahman after reading all of the terrific reviews.When they called back they apologized for their late response in returning my call. It was not a huge deal to me as it was on a weekend, so I somewhat expected them not to be within their stated response window.We scheduled an appointment for 8 to 8:30 in the morning. At 9am they called to tell me that they were delayed and thought that they could be there around 10am.After two back to back delays I lost confidence in their business and reviews so canceled. Hopefully I can find someone a bit more reliable.I cannot comment on their work, it may be terrific. After a bad start though it seemed like a risk.

Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating was easy to contact and fast to schedule, and Jose did a great job on the fixes needed for our toilets. Tony fixed our master bath shower so that it is now better than when we moved in! I highly recommend Albert Nahman to anyone needing a plumber.

Hossain did a good jod job and improved our connection so that we will never have a leak again using some creative engineering on his own.

Technician diagnostics was wrong, he gave me an estimate of over $4200, I had another company come in repair the AC unit correctly for half the money

1 star for responsiveness to BayREN but 5 stars for the actual heat pump installation and duct sealing. It’s been almost three months since our system was installed. Despite commitments that Albert Nahman is a BayREN certified contractor and would help us submit the paperwork for the rebates, they have just disappeared. As soon as we paid Albert Nahman, they moved on. I get an unsatisfying email response every few weeks, but no action. We chose Albert Nahman for our home electrification projects BECAUSE they were BayREN-certified and they promised to execute the rebates, but that wasn’t true. I’m left questioning their integrity with this bait-and-switch. I’ll update this review if they ever follow-through. . . We actually had a very pleasant experience with them until we tried to submit the rebate paperwork as promised to BayREN.Update: While I did appreciate the prompt reply to this review on Google, I would appreciate if someone from the company could address the actual issue. Until then, it’s all lip service.

Angel and Gene were very nice and knowledgeable. They fixed the clogs in the bathroom sink and bathtub and also shared some valuable advice with me about plumbing. They cleaned up the area they worked in so well that you wouldn't know that any work had been done in the bathroom.

Prompt service and a quick fix made for a good experience. A bit pricey, but worth the assurance that my faucet will be in good working order for a while!

Great experience all around from estimate to install of a whole house water filter system. Orlando did an excellent job. Looked so great! Works great! After having a blown motor and no heat for 3+months, I signed up for a maintenance contract. Ahmed came short after noon, ahead of estimated time, and did a thorough job cleaning every part of the furnace. He showed me with before and after pictures. He was very courteous too.

I ordered a sink console unit from Pottery Barn to replace an old sink in one of our bathrooms. Fernando V. showed up right on time, in fact a little early, did a beautiful job, and did not leave one bit of debris behind. He also took away the old sink which was very heavy and awkward. He was friendly, put up with our noisy dachshund, and I will request him again in the future. Worth every penny to have a job done right the first time.

I’ve used Albert Nahman for 12 years. They do a great job. While their prices are on the high side, it’s worth it knowing you can depend on their work. They are total pros. Chris was quick, thorough, and absolutely professional. He was also a really good sport about crawling under our house... Accessing our heater really puts the crawl in crawlspace. He was good-natured about it and fixed things quickly.My only issue with the whole experience is that the company pushed back the appt. twice. The second time, they were ready to push the visit back 5 days during the coldest week of winter so far (in California, but still). When we protested, they settled on 2 days after the initial promised visit.Other than that, and the lack of any documentation so far (invoice? Description of work performed ?), I would hire Nahman again.

Tony C. from Albert Nahman plumbing did another excellent job for us. This time he refitted our pedestal sink with new faucets, spout, drain, trap, etc. He cleaned out the discharge pipe such that we have better drainage now that we've ever had. He also cleaned up the sink so that it looks new (it's a 90 year-old porcelain sink). The work was done promptly and competently, and for a reasonable price. Tony C. is a very friendly and personable guy who really knows what he's doing.

Albert Nahman is our go to for plumbing. They have repaired our furnaces and replaced our sewer lateral.Good plumbing work isn’t cheap, but Nahman more than makes up for it with service.Typical very fast to respond, and always sends quality technicians. Our last technician, Chris, was able to change our furnace’s gas valve without waking our newborn, sleeping in the adjacent room.

Albert Nahman always does high-quality work. Their technicians are skilled and friendly, and best of all solve whatever plumbing problem ails you. Over time, we have had work done on pipes and gas lines, as well as having our hot water heater replaced and a house-wide water filter installed. We have had work done by Nathan, Carrie, and Tony -- all were great. Highly recommended.

Very Professional and knowledgeable. My service agent diagnosed the problem quickly and even had the part I needed in his truck. He explained everything he need to do clearly and answered my questions. I am a long time customer and Im glad Albert Nahman HVAC has made it through the pandemic.

I purchased a discount service through Angie's List for the repair of two leaky faucets. The service tech was unable to remove the leaky cartridges and wanted to remove the faucets and take them into the shop for repair. When adding up the estimate for that the total amount approached $1000. I told him I could buy a new faucet for alot less than that price online and we parted company. I purchased a complete new faucet for 1/4 of the cost. Before I installed the new faucet I decided to try to remove the cartridges myself, which I did. I made the repair myself with 2 new cartridges for $30. I was able to return the new faucet but spent $16 on shipping.While the tech was here I did have him replace an o-ring in the shower wand (I already had the parts on hand) of the bathtub faucet which cost me an additional $45 above the deal on Angie's List ($139 for $200 worth of work). I spoke with Mr. Nahman about crediting me back some of the expense for not being able to repair the faucets, which was my primary concern. He felt we were even because of the wand repair. However, I don't. I feel like these Angie's List deals are an opportunity for price gouging once they get into your home.

Stanley King came out to do a sewer lateral inspection for us, and to give us a quote for replacing the sewer lateral. He was great! Very professional and experienced. Explained everything along the way as we kept asking questions. Also quite focused on cleanliness and safety. Can't say I ever thought I'd be excited about a plumber, but wow, it'll be an easy call next time we need a plumber.

The valve on an old water system was leaking. I decided to have the system removed. The work was done. My review isn't about the great work and cost effective timely service. It's about feeling that for the first time, after a roof replacement job, a porch replacement and dead end contracted work, I was left with a smile of relief. I didn't feel like some shady shyster had struck again when the job was completed and the technician had left. I didn't have to ask the right questions. I hired Albert Nahman Plumbing to replace a sump pump and upgrade the outflow system at my home in Oakland. From the initial visit and the estimate/bid on through to the work itself, they were professional, timely, responsible and responsive in all phases. During the course of the project I worked with Amber, Anthony, Rafi, Nathan and Alex, and they were all exemplary. The work was done to a very high standard, and the clean-up was excellent. I live in a condo unit in an HOA. There was a clog in the pipes that caused sewage backup into my kitchen sink when neighbors were running water in their sink. Angel arrived on time, was personable, responsive and professional. He cleared the clog and cleaned up efficiently. Thank you Angel.

Technician had no electrical water heater knowledge or experience. He thus could not diagnose the problem, could only call in and suggest complete replacement of all thermostats and elements at a high cost. Totally useless $74 service call.

I've used Albert Nahman Plumbing several times for repairing leaks and to detect leaks. Scheduling appointments was very easy and every time the person they sent out was professional, knowledgeable, and prompt.

Arturo did a great job installing a gas water heater. He took his time making sure every step was done correctly. I highly recommend this company.

Rueben immediately perceived we needed new water tank when hot water went out. He quickly got a water tank crew to our house. Nick and Fred put in the new tank with precision and expertise. The next day Manowar replaced the exterior water valve to our house. With patience, he mastered a difficult cult job. All is good!

Contracted repair work after a fire in the garage; mainly sheetrock removal to expose damaged area; for assessment; timely proposal; timely work execution; and very courteous work crew who cleaned up thoroughly after; hopefully can use for remainder of repair project work, provided bid stay competitive! I believe AN does and will do good quality work, don't mind pay a bit extra. And, very punctual!

After waking up on Presidents Day to a failed and leaking water heater, they worked to get a repair person out on what turned out to be a very busy day for them. The tech was on time, professional and hot things fixed. When we needed additional HVAC support, we had a tech out the next day who was incredibly thorough, patient and very knowledgeable.

I knew this wouldn't be the cheapest way to replace a toilet, but also expected that I was paying for a professional job - and I was right. They were timely and figured out the inevitable issues that come up when replacing a 70-year-old plumbing fixture with a modern one. I consider it money well spent.

Initially responsive, so that’s good. But the service rep was unable to find a gas leak, even in the vicinity where PG&E noticed it. The service rep charged the visit fee and apparently left stones unturned, because another contractor was later able to suggest a thorough investigation and find leaks in a short amount of time. Before seeking that second contractor, I tried to see if Nahman could double check the cellar (which the service rep had said he didn’t need to inspect closely on the grounds that his gas sniffer was sensitive enough), but Nahman’s follow-up communication was lacking. The service rep didn’t offer much in terms of recommending next steps except to go find another contractor. Fortunately another contractor found the leaks quickly, but Nahman failed to find them and apparently didn’t look thoroughly enough, wasting time and money.

Ruben arrived and had the whole job expertly done in about thirty minutes. 5/5 will call again if I need plumbing work done in the future.

Great honest service. We had been using another well-recognized plumber for years, but were recently told that we had some extensive/expensive work to do. We called Albert Nahman for a second bid and the technicians who came not only told us we did not, in fact, need to do that work, they let me see the video feed proving it. They also have me pointers on how to avoid major problems going forward for our particular issue. Would definitely recommend and they will be my go-to plumber from now on!!

It was so helpful to be able to talk to someone and schedule a service appointment on Sunday. My schedule is so tight right now, and that was really helpful. Also, they were willing to come and service my tankless water heater when other companies would not do it because they had not installed it. The company that installed it is out of business, so I felt really stuck. And when I called the company of the water heater their only certified technicians were very far away. Chris was great when he came out. He was courteous, funny, helpful, knowledgeable, and did the work quickly and there were no problems. I will definitely use Albert Nahman Services again!

AVOID IF POSSIBLE. The company that bought them is very deceptive and only want profits. Nahman is no longer part of this establishment. He sold to snakes. They overcharge clients because they can, they do not have expertise in some departments. Lastly, they do not pay their employees and it is helping to ruin lives.

Jason was a miracle worker. He knew exactly how to fix both leaks under our sink. He also checked & fixed the cause of poor water flow. Then he fixed our dishwasher drain clog. So nice to have everything working so well again.

Nahman has done work for us on several occasions over the past 15 years. We recently had an inefficient, 35 year old toilet replaced by Carlos. He was on time, courteous, competent, fully informed us of our options and the cost, and completed the replacement in a very short time. Excellent service.

Monowar Hossain did four different repairs for us. He repaired both faucet handles in a bathroom by cleaning and repacking the stems, saving us the cost of buying new stems. He advised that we should get new stems if there were any more problems. He repaired the plastic P trap under the kitchen sink and again recommended that, if there were future problems, we should replace with a brass chrome P trap. The old kitchen faucet had several problems, and he recommended installing a new one, which we did. Monowar made every effort to save us money by fixing problems rather than replacing items. Everything if working fine now. My one complaint is with the scheduling. We scheduled the plumber to arrive in a 12-2 window. The text I received the night before said the plumber would arrive at 11:00. Monowar arrived at 10:00.

My first experience was with Lisa. She’s seriously a rockstar! There were a few bumps in the road with scheduling but she called or messaged me when I know you should have been off work. She worked very hard to get me an appointment when it was convenient for me.Chris came out for an estimate. He was on time and very professional and friendly. He took his time and walked me through the process of the projects I was inquiring about. When he came back to begin one of my two projects he was, again, on time and very nice. Tony was a skilled and professional plumber that is very familiar with hyrdonic/radiant heat systems. Although he was not familiar with our specific manufacturer he was able to effectively troubleshoot the error and resolve the problems.He was informative throughout the process. Explained everything in a professional manner... he was not one of those condescending tradespersons who give you lots of attitude.I recommend them for dealing with hydronic/radiant heat systems.

We were experience low water flow/pressure in our hot water from a few of our faucets. Tad came out and meticulously looked over and diagnose the issue and fixed what could be fixed that day - the flow out of our bathtub faucet due to sediment in the pipes - and laid out the fixes needed for the other issues. While one company wouldn't take any more appointments because they are too busy and another couldn't come out for two weeks, Kevin moved things around for us and came out the same day. He found the problem right away , gave recommendations, and checked the entire system and line for leaks. He gave lots of options for alternatives or repairs.....Nathan arrived, crawled under the house to get a full sense of the problem before providing an estimate. The estimate seemed spot on (he focused on laying out what it would take to solve the problem the right way rather than just slapping on a bandaid). He showed up on time, was friendly and easy to work with, and completed the work in exactly the promised window.I will say that I wish the company would provide a credit for the high Service fee(in comparison to other companies) towards the other services provided. Seemed pretty steep for the service call and detection, but I was on a time crunch.I will call Nathan again for my HVAC and plumbing needs.

Monowar went above and beyond today replacing our plumbing and disposal under the kitchen sink. He repaired the disposal enough so that we could use it gently for several days till he comes back. He didn’t have to tell us he could do that, but when we said that would be GREAT, he went ahead and spent the time (and using an additional part) doing it for no additional charge!!!!

Do not use this company. Scammish. They quoted me $74 to look at my garbage disposal. When he arrived, he did not walk in with tools; instead stood by the sink, pulled his phone out & began searching to give me a $750 quote for purchase & install of a garbage disposal. I said, “Aren’t you going to look at it first?” When I said no, he then looked at the garbage disposal, told me it was the motor, then charged me $94. I said, “I was quoted $74 on the phone. He said, yes but I opened it up & looked at it to verify. Then, when he emails me the receipt, the receipt showed 0.0 throughout. Didn’t even show how much I paid. Bad experience, scammish, untrustworthy.

The technician they sent out was Jose de la Torre, and I was very happy with his service. He was knowledgeable and explained what was causing my toilet to leak so that I could understand it and make an informed choice on how to proceed. We called Albert Nahman Plumbing when we detected a foul smell emanating from under our house. Previous dealings with Nahman had proven the company's responsiveness, reliability, friendly professionalism and expertise. In short, we trust the company. And I was delighted when the technician who arrived was Stanley--one of the people who had built that trust. He did a thorough investigation of the area to assess the problems, provided a detailed description of the work he had done and the work that needed to be done, and then facilitated the scheduling of an abatement team to clean up the standing waters so that the Nahman team could fix the connections. When unpleasant things happen, it is particularly nice to work with folks who know what they are doing and who are so friendly and honest in their dealings with other people.

The repair started as a drain pipe clearing service. The plumbers found the pipe run was completely clogged. They recommended replacing everything. We just replaced the non functional pipe run of about 40 feet.

Great work done on fixing the two leaks on the water line (on their third visit). With respect to the first tech who came to help, the source of the leak was not too obvious. It required more analysis and prodding between nooks and crannies. When the new tech, Tony C., came, he did just that. His troubleshooting methods were meticulous -- he thought outside the box. He engaged me with the process and took time to explain why this won't work and that will work. He made sure that I feel confident the fix will be done correctly by the end of the day.All in all, I'm satisfied. Thank you to Tony C., Rafael Y., Deepak, and Damien for taking care of the problem.

As always, Nahman's people show up on time and do top-quality work. Deepak took the time to answer all our questions, even recommending against some other work that we proposed. He went out of his way to find one more part that had to be back-ordered in the end. They were able to schedule him to arrive less than one hour after I called. Just know that while you are getting the best service, you will pay a lot for it. We call them when we want someone who will show up quickly and on time, do great work, and get it right the first time.

Water heater hassle fixed in no time!

Stanley was a great problem-solver and a wonderful communicator in solving a longstanding sewer problem at my 100+ year old house. He figured out a solution, explained the options, and did the work with a great can-do approach. He was courteous and super smart about his work. Mr. Holmes arrived early within the time window and immediatly got to the heart of the matter that concerned us. Unfortunately, the fix required replacement of the thermostat ($703, ouch!) but now we can enjoy the A/C unit with warm days approaching. Excellent service!

I am beyond disappointed in Albert Nahman. After calling to confirm the appointment two days prior, and then calling during the appointment window twice, it was a no show and the customer service rep that finally returned my calls later let me know they had the wrong number saved in the system. (I gave them my current number in every call placed). This was a huge inconvenience and I wish I had booked other alternatives at the same time instead of believing all the reviews and trusting in this company. Now it’s a few weeks wait to get my issue resolved by another contractor.

We had great service today from Steve Marzocco! Talked us through what we needed in a comfort height toilet, then returned with it not an hour later and installed it in record time. Pleasant and knowledgeable.

We had an unfortunate leak from our kitchen sink and couldn't find anyone open on a Saturday, so I'm grateful someone was able to come out. We needed someone to help figure out some work that another plumber had abandoned. Stanley was cheerful, professional, informative and very helpful. He explained things really well without going overboard with the details like some others might.EDITED to add that the company got real weird when i pointed out a discrepancy in one quote vs another they'd given me for the same job. I spent three increasingly weird weeks trying to track down an answer, a demoralizing process that left me with a terrible taste in my mouth. I really wanted to use them again but came away with the impression that I should never have mentioned the difference in price--i think they just kinda decided to black list me randomly. it felt oddly personal. not a professional company, it turns out, apart from stanley. whatever!

I had a leaky faucet in the tub. The technician came with the part (a cartridge for the mixer valve) that needed replacing and also provided a new handle when he noticed that the old one wasn't actually the proper part. Leak fixed!

Our sump pump did not turn on in the last big rain and the pit flooded the water heater and turned it off.I was able to turn the pump on manually and drain most of the water but could not relight the water heater.Jose De la Torre relit the water heater and diagnosed the problem with the sump pump.

Tony and his crew have performed a great many services for us, installing a new furnace, repairing a major plumbing leak, installing a new hood in the kitchen, and cleaning out several drains, vents and ducts. Tony is an excellent professional and we are very pleased with his work.

We were told the fee for them to troubleshoot was $95 and they charged $204. No repairs were done. They provided a quote that exceeds the standard for our area and size home (1350sqft). The person that arrived was polite and professional, as are their customer service team members, but am surprised by these practices and would certainly not recommend them. Transparency in pricing is important to customer’s not feeling ripped off.

I had several bids. Gabriel from Albert Nahman was the only person that called me back within 24 hours. Gabriel was courteous, very informative, excellent at describing HVAC issues in a manner I could easily understand, and the completed project is great. He was the only contractor that told me how and why I should pick options that were less expensive. Every person in the crew was cheerful. The crew has obviously worked together for several years because they worked fast and efficiently without any type of conflict. I had 2 heating systems and 2 air-conditioning systems put into a two story home. This is one for each floor. I wanted to be able to just heat or air-condition only one floor if I needed to. They did all of this within 3.5 days. I definitely recommend them for any job you need whether it is big or small.

My toilet was running and my valve was old and wouldn't shut-off. Albert Nahman gave me an appointment just 2 or 3 hours after the toilet started running. Deepak Sharma was the plumber and was efficient, fast and came right at 2. I was happy with the experience and service.

we have been customers of Albert Nahmen plumbing for almost 20 years and we've always had stellar service. Unfortunately, the last time we called the company, we experienced what we would call unprofessional workmanship… We were having an annual inspection done, which is part of the bronze service program, and the technician seemed clueless. He told us we would need to have a new faucet installed in the kitchen because we don't have cold water going to it. Yes, we do have cold water going to it but he was looking at the wrong valve. He also said we needed a new garbage disposal and could replace it with a 1 hp. We currently have a 2.5 hp. Why would we want to go down to one horsepower? And how could he tell we needed a new one ? And by the way the garbage disposal is perfectly fine. He also told us at the conclusion of the the inspection that he had come up with a list of parts and services that could be taken care of. About five days later, the company called me, wanting to know if I would like to provide payment and a scheduling of an appointment to do those things. I told him I was not interested, and they said that I had signed for it. Very misleading. Not some thing I have ever experienced with this company before. I did ask our technician about a few other professionals who worked for the company and he said he did not know any of them, and that they probably had left after the change in ownership. If this is true, this is very sad because AN had a lot of staff that worked a long time for the company. It seems that when the ownership changed, so did the company itself which still posts on its website that it is family owned ! A few days later I saw the same tech at a neighbors house. When I asked the neighbor what they thought of AN - they said we won't be calling them again Well neither will I.You've serviced our tankless water heater that you installed, our HE furnace which you installed and many many other projects in our home - but no more. Sorry AN

My wall heater died. It was freezing in my house so I was very happy to be able to get help the day after I called. Mr. Snowden came on time, repaired the heater and replaced the thermostat. He was professional in his work and courteous personally. Due to a failure of product, the thermostat had to be replaced again, He showed up shortly after my call and completed the job with no waiting. I would happily welcome him back for further service.

Company kept us apprised of arrival time via email and text. Repairperson was polite, fast, and efficient. Discussed whether it was worth fixing and decided to give the go-ahead. Loved that he had a replacement part in his truck (we had advised the company it was a specific brand/model toilet) so parts swap was quick. Very satisfied!

Nahman Plumbing had my deficient sewer line resolved in short order. They did a good job initially doing a simple line clearing job after I had a backup, and after understanding how bad my sewer line was by virtue of a camera, I agreed to go forward with a line replacement. It all happened in short order. At the end of the week I was back in business. All workers involved were good at what they did. And I remain in awe of the trench-less installation technique. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would still consider it science fiction.

Regular maintenance flushing of electric water heater. Did a good job, but extremely expensive.

They were the 4th of 4 bids and the only ones willing to actually LOOK at the water heater and diagnose the problem. They fixed it when everyone else said it had to be moved and replaced. First bid we got from another company to replace and move was $14k!!

Cannot praise the man who came out to search for a leak enough. The leak appeared to be at the water meter itself. But he quickly showed that was not the source. Then he tried various other sources until finally finding that turning off the water to the front yard drip irrigation system stopped the leak. He also tried to find the exact source in the irrigation system, but did not. Neither did my gardener who searched for over an hour a couple of days later. Exactly where the water is coming from remains a mystery, but the leak was solved by turning off the water to the front yard. Your man went above and beyond what was expected and more than earned your $95 fee. Thank you.

Chris Willis is an excellent, experienced plumber. We asked him to reseat and caulk our toilet, which he did expediently. When the fancy bidet decided to stop working, he read the manual and then called the manufacturer to fix this new to him product. He was very successful. He was pleasant and engaging. I will ask for him whenever we need a plumber.

The guy came out and asked for $95 for trip charge. It is just 1.4mile away from here. And if he touches anything on the heater, the price bumps up to $295. I asked to check the heater element with multimeter, and he said it will be another charge. I was tired of him doing anything with money on top of money... wasted $95 and my time. Never again... Good luck!

Ive used Albert Nahman Plumbing in the past. I specifically wokred with John Williams in the past and with Ismael Cortes. Both had the knowledge and skill to ensure the preassesment and job were done correctly and the problems I had were solved. I will definitely use and recommend the company for any future plumbing needs.

Steve did a thorough analysis of the problem and made suggestions. We will go ahead when we agree on a time slot. I will post again when the job is done.

We have called Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating on two occasions. Both times they were the only ones who were able to schedule an appointment quickly which is why we used them. The first time we called about our gas fireplace which wasn't working. The man who came to fix it was very rude and demeaning. He made me feel like an idiot for not being able to fix it myself and charged over $100 for 5 minutes of work. Took him longer to write up the bill than the repair itself.The second time our water heater was not working. We had already relit the pilot so we knew it would light. The technician first told us it wouldn't light- he clearly hadn't tried as the directions tell you to hold it down for 5 minutes, and he said it wouldn't light after 5 seconds. We asked him to try again, since we had just lit it, and he was able to, but would have been quick to sell us the incorrect diagnosis. Then, he told us there were 2 possible problems, but he couldn't be sure either would fix it. Each repair was estimated at over $600 ($1200+ total). The water heater was about $500 new so this seemed crazy. He also said it would take a week to get the parts (too long to not have hot water). We asked about replacing the water heater. He suggested a $2400 heater (including installation) and said it would be better because it had a 5 year warranty. Our original (much cheaper) water heater had a 6 year warranty. I asked about anything with a longer warranty. He mentioned a $3000 heater. He was very nice but clearly programmed to upsell expensive work/ products.While he was there I asked if he could look at a small problem we were having with the sink. It's happened before and required taking apart the input lines and cleaning them out. Takes less than an hour. He quoted $238 for the job.We declined all the work.I bought a new heater at home depot for ~$600 with a six year warranty and had it installed and the sink fixed by my contractor for $200 total. I could have spent a little more and gotten a 9 or 12 year warranty for under $1000. The company is good at getting there fast and the woman on the phone was very nice, but they are hoping to take advantage of people financially. If you care about price at all, don't use them.

Albert Nahman Plumbers are very professional, courteous, and produce excellent work. They showed up on schedule and finished in a timely manner. I would've given them a Five Star rating if it wasn't for a few flaws. First, I was surprised how much it cost at the end given a different cost figure when I signed the estimated contract. They should've said before tax. (I'm guessing.). Second, the people in the office gave me different names on who was going to come out to my place. They did this twice. First they said Carrie, then Kevin. It was neither. (Fernando & Damian were wonderful, though.) Third, I thought it was a bit too pricing for just replacing the existing Waste & Overflow contraption. There were no breaking of the floor or the ceiling in the lower unit.

Can’t say how happy we are with the service that Stanley and Damon provided! We had a horrible blockage in our kitchen sink drainage pipes and nothing would help. These guys let the office know that they were working hard and couldn’t break the blockage but they refused to give up. They consistently send out professional, competent, helpful teams, and I really appreciate the time they take to explain everything they expect to do, and all charges, before they begin work, and check with me whenever something unexpected comes up. Today, their plumber went above and beyond, stepping in to my retired neighbor's apartment quickly to dislodge a stuck sink stopper that required more strength than she had. It took only a couple of minutes, but it was the kind of generosity, neighborliness, and kindness that I have come to associate with Albert Nahman. I appreciate their competence and fair prices, but it's the small gestures like that which make me a loyal customer. I highly recommend this company.

I had no hot water in my home. Ugh! I called Albert Nahman. I got an appointment for the afternoon. My ignition was bad in my hot water tank. Diagnostic was quick and repair was quicker. Another part needed to be ordered. Lovely experience. Nicest technician.

The plumbers at Albert Nahman are always very knowledgeable, courteous and on time. We have used them on several occasions and have never been disappointed. They have great support up front and the ability to get someone to your house quickly. Whole process is excellent.

Mauricio led a crackerjack crew of plumbing and heating specialists to install our new heat pump and tankless water heater systems. They were prompt and helpful. They left nothing behind but our excellent new systems, and were extremely careful about the interior and exterior of our house while they were working. Mauricio is taking the extra step of a special request for a cosmetic fix. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

We had a complete failure of our existing heating system and immediate need for replacement. They did a fantastic job of responding quickly, getting the asbestos abatement completed, getting the install done. We could not have asked for better.Both the state and city inspectors were impressed with the completed work. So mostly, fantastic. Unfortunately some miscommunication left one piece that had to be done after. And that piece left one section of exposed insulation. Is that horrible? No. Does it affect performance? Doubt it. But that exposed section is so starkly different from the rest of the job. I asked and was told that is how they intended it, so OK then.I think that they way the communicate what amounts need to be paid when, and by what means could be significantly improved. I'm sure they think it is clear because they know what they mean, and what they got and what they processed. On our end - not so clear.

Ismael did an excellent job replumbing my kitchen drain. It was tricky because things didn't quite line up but he stuck with it and made sure everything was done professionally with no leaks. As usual, excellent service from Albert Nahman Services and their employees!

I called Nahman Plumbing and Heating because I had a sudden broken hot water connection under the kitchen sink late in the day. I did not locate it immediately and it was spraying hot water on the wall behind for a while before I saw it. What a mess! I had to immediately turn off the water to the house completely because the valve which was involved would not stop the spray.They arranged an appointment for the next afternoon between 2 and 4. It is obviously never convenient to be without water, but the arrangement worked okay for me. I will say that Nahman's is great about keeping you advised of the arrival time of the technician which really helps. You are informed all through the process. The technician who came was Nathan Nijensohn who was a very nice, capable young man who clearly advised me of the repair options and completed the job neatly and professionally based on my choice of the solution. A pleasant experience all around.I have used Nahman Plumbing a number of times previously for much larger jobs and have found them to be excellent. No one likes paying plumbing bills, but working with them has been pleasant each time.Definitely a satisfied customer...

My deceased husband Peter and I had planned on a more efficient water heating system in early 2020 with quotes from Tony C. My husband passed before we couldmove forward. The tech came to work on the tankless water heater. It threw an error code a few days prior and I wanted to diagnose the issue. He showed up 2 hours late (then, too late to call the manufacturer) and didn’t even open the machine. He gave us huge quotes to replace the device or install a new valve. He was here for 10 minutes. I didn’t learn anything new about my machine, no work was done. No diagnoses was done. And he charged me $95. I don’t know what I paid for. I won’t be using their service again.

I first used Nahman for a repair of our very old garbage disposal, which turned out to be such a pleasant experience that I've gone back to them twice since--to fix a dishwasher leak and then to replace the disposal. I've met two of their staff over the course of this, both highly professional, focused, efficient, and personable. Importantly, they left me with the strong impression that the staff likes the management--always a sign of a well-run operation. In addition they emphasize customer service and building relationships, assigning the same staff over successive jobs. It's a terrific company.

Nathan came the next day to take a look at my garbage disposal. With the help of a small flashlight he quickly determined that a small screw had fallen into the disposal. He returned to his truck and got a great took that could fit into the small opening and still have a good bite to pull the screw from its lodging. He was courteous and quick, great job.

Steve Marzocco did a great job for us. Really cared about doing the repair right, getting the best done for the customer. He was courteous and careful in the house. We switch to Albert Nahman anout 7-8 years ago after using another Oakland company for the previous 30 years. We haven’t been disappointed. They are not cheap, but they are fairly priced and deliver quality work. Steve is an excellent representative of the company. I’d recommend both him and Nahman without hesitation.

Our experience with Nahman Services was frustrating. Due to a brief interruption of the main gas supply line of our house, the pilot flame of our water boiler went out and couldn't be lit again. So, we called Nahman Services. Since everything worked up until the gas interruption, we communicated to the plumber that the problem must be minor, and restricted to the pilot since the main burner worked perfectly well up until the gas shut-off. Yet, after a quick check of the heat coupler (which couldn't have been broken) the plumber decided he can't do anything except for replacing the *entire* water heater, for $3000. Shocked about the price tag we politely said no, but were still charged $200 for coming out and fixing nothing.Watching some Youtube, I was able to fix pilot myself in about 1hr: All I had to do was to bend the wire of the electric lighter slightly, so that the spark crossed the gas flow of the pilot.

I was very pleased with the technician, Victor, and the work that was performed. Victor was very professional, with excellent communication skills--he even found a plumbing problem that was missed by a different company. Don't try anyone else!

Our 20-year-old water heater stopped working. Albert Nahman Plumbing was listed in a google search for plumbers in the Oakland area. They responded to my call, checked the old heater out, got it working and recommended replacing it due to the age. I researched replacement heaters recommended and chose an upgrade to the system. AN Plumbing installed and tested the new heater in one day. It works fine.

The technician came did a test and that’s about it. He said he doesn’t know why we have a carbon monoxide leaking and all he knew is the tester showing the level is very high. Basically he did what the PG&E technician did, ran a test and found out there is leaking. We called for asking a diagnose and what we got is a test result and we have to pay $95 for the service too. Totally a waste of money!

As an energy conservation measure for our 8 unit apartment building, we wanted to install a condensing hot water heater. Mike came over to give us an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and assessed our needs. Tony and Enrique did a great job installing the heater. We called Alfred Nahman for a second opinion; they rearranged their schedule to see us on short notice, since we had no running water. Juan arrived promptly, inspected the damage, and fixed it on the spot, for less than our previous estimate. While Albert Nahman company is very professional and easy to work with, it is unfortunate that they are no longer affordable for your typical homeowners who do not live in multi million dollar homes. After my son dropped a toothpaste cap into our bathroom sink, the 90+ year old drain line clogged. I was unable to clear it with a hand snake. My brother recommended Albert Nahman Plumbing, who had done the plumbing for his remodel. I was able to get an appointment in a two hour window on the afternoon of the day I contacted them. The technician William Cruz was on time; he very realistically assessed the situation. Clearing the old narrow drain line was iffy, but with patience and perseverance he was able to get his motorized snake all the way out to the large stack on the outside of the house. He cleaned up thoroughly and I was happy to write a check for quality service at a reasonable price. Thank you to Albert Nahman and William Cruz!

It's amazing how 3 days with our very fancy water heater blinking red lights and no hot water can really get you down. I got several insanely expensive quotes to fix it ($2000) or replace it ($12,000!!) Then came Albert Nahman Plumbing. Stanley K came out promptly, diagnosed the problem in no time, found the rather hard to find part, snaked out some sinks as he was here anyway, and got Mauricio to come back promptly at 2, who fixed the whole thing in no time, and at an amazingly low price.Thank you.

After reaching out to another plumber that my building recommended (but didn’t follow through), I called Albert Nahman. The online form was easy and someone reached out the next business day. They were able to get someone out quickly, and my project was escalated to Tony. Tony came out on a Friday to assess the repairs / replacement on my boiler and gave a very thorough proposal. I was able to book an appointment with the office just 3 business days later to get the repairs completed (lead time to get the necessary parts). Tony was excellent, and I’ve already recommended him to a new neighbor. He was clean, professional, easy to talk to, and was great with my curious (but very friendly) dog. I wouldn’t hesitate to call Albert Nahman again in the future!

These guys are very expensive! He had a problem they were able to solve but requested we do followup cleaning of the A/C system. Several weeks later the second visit occurred and after a $500 cleaning session the condenser motor was making some noises. He diagnosed it as a bad motor that was okay the first time he came out. Now he have $500 to clean a dead unit or replace the failed motor. He suggested he give us a quote for an entire system and a replacement motor. A week later the estimates came in: $1,500 for the motor or $24,400 for the A/C system. These are expensive and when I called to confirm the prices they said they were accurate and nothing more to say. I bought the motor for $200 and have had two estimates for larger A/C units for $12,000 including the duct work. Check out everything they say and get several estimates before you go that rabbit hole.

Edit: The technician came and finished the job. Thank you Albert Nahman for following up on this review and making it right.The technician was professional and courteous however there are other issues with the service. I scheduled appointment online and received confirmation email but no one showed up. I called and they said oh that time doesn't work and gave me an appointment two days later. Technician showed up for second appointment and quickly diagnosed the issue and replaced the bad part. However he did not re-apply caulking around the shower handle cover like it was originally. Called them to come and do it, they said they'll schedule a follow-up visit. That was 3 days ago and I haven't heard back. Seems like there's no follow through once they get their money. Very disappointed with the service especially for such a high price.

I went thruough Google services and got a prompt response to set up an appointment for estimate. Gabriel went out to my 66 y/o disabled mothers house and gave and $575 estimate for installing a sink and and $200 estimate for replace the water shut on/off valve. He took a check for a deposit. When I arrived to follow up with my Mom and the technician left no paperwork and when I contacted the company he went back and had submitted a quote for over $900 dollars! I was clear that if they tried to deposit the check I would be all over them. This tech really tried to take advantage of my mother but she had people to take care of her. If you are elderly I would stay away. I don't know if it was just that tech or a company culture but I will never use there plumbing services. And had the sink installed for $200 dollars including parts by another company. Thanks but no thanks Albert Nahmen Plumbing!

Albert Nahman installed two tankless water heaters (in series) in our house, a few months before we bought it. But, as users, we were not satisfied with the installation since we could get here and there a few cold showers for no reason.I started to investigate the problem by watching some Youtube videos. It became clear that the installation was not properly made and contacted Albert Nahman, which agreed on my diagnosis and accepted to make things right at their own expense, which was really appreciated.A few days after the installation was fixed, problems arose again and we started to get even more cold showers. A few technicians from Albert Nahman came in, checked the installation, but could not really understand what the problem was. The last technician, Chris Hassett, finally understood the root of it and fixed it. I was really impressed by Chris, his capacity to listen, be methodical in troubleshooting the problem, not giving up where nothing obvious strikes. We were very fortunate to have him look at our installation. Everything works perfectly now!Overall impression is still good: Albert Nahman fixed their mistakes, sent technicians when we called, and was the pretty reactive the whole time.

This would have been a 5-star review based on the courtesy, punctualityand efficiency of the technician. He did a 5-star job. The lower rating is based on the price, which is a company issue. I think that $378.00 to unclog a drain is way pricey. With the electric snake it is a fast an easy job. Next time I will look for a fairer price...or buy my own electric snake!

Communication was clear regarding the work. The digging occurred in a tight space between two plants so we talked about what to prune. He backfilled the area and you wouldn’t know a new clean-out valve was created.

The plumber you sent was very personable and made adjustments not only on the p trap but it seems as though the water from the faucet is not splashing water everywhere before his visit. The only problem the board of directors had is with the price. Therefore the four stars instead of five.

Came on time and we discussed the work. Toilet seal may be leaking after being replaced last Nov. It is weird French toilet so may not fit right with US seals and flange arrangement. Decided to replace entire toilet to US standard equipment. Will investigate toilets to assure look in bathroom. Only US std ones will be looked at by us.

Literally horrific experience with this company. Had booked an appointment to fix my heater when I had been without heat during a very very cold storm. I Moved my whole schedule around so I could be home when they would come. The morning that they were supposed to come at 9 AM. I’m waiting and waiting no one‘s coming. I called about three times to get in touch with them to figure out where the service provider is finally by 11 AM I got a callback from them saying that they overbooked and that they would not have anybody come out to be fixing my heater that day. The best that they could do was offer me an appointment two weeks out. I would never trust or work with this company again horrific experience they clearly do not value customers time.

Albert Nahman Plumbing and Heating was recommended highly by a neighbor when I asked for an emergency referral. My kitchen sink was backing up and overflowing, and had not responded to drain cleaners. Nahman responded immediately to my call and arranged for someone to come that same day, having informed me of the fee for a visit plus alerting me to expect additional charges for whatever the job would require. They gave me a time window for the visit, and then called to let me know that it would be later than expected. They sent me wonderful Stanley, who was polite, informative, competent and efficient. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate of what it would cost to fix it. (Luckily it was only a clogged drainpipe, nothing major.) Once I'd signed the agreement he fixed it, cleaned up beautifully afterwards, and suggested an organic non-toxic drain cleaning product to maintain the flow in future (which I purchased). I would recommend Albert Nahman unhesitatingly to anyone in need of plumbing repair. They are not cheap but they are responsive, and based on my experience their employees are very well-trained and focused on excellent customer service.

We had a carbon monoxide leak in our heater. Mark took his time to explain what the problem was with our heater and stated that we will need to get a new heater. I love that he was accurate, patient and kind.

This company is really hard to communicate with. Since the beginning of the project, I've called countless times and been told someone would call me back and they rarely do. Anytime you call you get an answering service that asks you for EVERY detail of your information (like they have no file on you at all, meaning it's quite time consuming), only for them to say someone will call back later that day. Iffy if they actually will. Basically calling Albert Nahman has been on my to-do list non-stop since I started working with them in July, because it's never ending the back and forth and trying to get someone to come out to actually resolve my issue. I will not be using them in the future.

The hot water valve on two of the showers of my remodeled house was producing cold to lukewarm water, so the mixing valves needed to be adjusted. These mixing valves consist of several parts including covers and cartridges, and adjusting them so that the shower produces hot water is not as easy as it may appear. The plumber from Albert Nahman spent over one hour working on both valves overall. The first shower valve was relatively easy, but the second one was a little trickier. After a few tries the second shower was producing hot water. Since I hadn't been using the showers that much but now had tenants moving into those rooms in the immediate future, it was imperative for the hot water to be working.

We've have used Albert Nahman before and the service has always been clearly explained, well done and reasonably priced from a new flash hot water heater to new plumbing. The installation of the new mini-split heat pump was quick and efficient with my many quest answered.

Our kitchen sink started to leak in January 2020 and Tad S came to the house. He diagnosed the issue and we ended up having to replace the faucet. This took us about two weeks to get a replacement.
