Mr Rooter Oakland is great. They have great communication, and they’re very professional. They work fast and make sure that you’re happy when they’re done. I had several plumbing projects I needed for a remodel, and they got it all done in one day. I highly recommend this company.

After spending two days trying to get a different plumber out for a clog in our main sewer line, they finally came, told me they couldn’t help me that day, scheduled for the next day, and quoted me just over $300.

I could not live another day without toilets and sinks (with sewage backing up into my shower), so I called Mr. Rooter. Within 40 minutes, Alex was at my house. He was professional, thorough and conscientious. I could not believe how careful he was with everything in our home. It was like a night and day difference from the previous plumbing company. Alex took the time to explain in detail what was wrong, every step he was completing, and stayed for hours when the proposed solution didn’t immediately work. Whereas the other plumber clearly wanted to get home in time for dinner, Alex understood our situation and made sure to stay until the problem was solved. Yes, the cost was much higher than the other plumber quoted (in total, about $800). But I shudder to think the corners the other plumber would have cut, considering how unprofessional they were and how little they seemed to care. Alex’s hard work and kind demeanor made the high price tag sting a bit less. He is a gem!

Alfredo was out technician and he was great. Professional, very knowledgeable, offered various solutions, got the job done quickly and thoroughly walked us through everything so we knew what was done and how to operate it.

i am extremely happy with the service provided by mr. rooter... we had a serious issue with our sewer drain backing up, and mr. rooter came to the rescue! they explained their pricing well, didn't try to up-sell us on services and performed the work quickly and on budget. their customer service and quality of work done is top notch, and i couldn't recommend them more.

We had a 140 foot gas line that needed quick replacement, including concrete trenching. After a few quotes I decided to work with Spencer (the owner) and very glad I did. His team did the job well, quickly and professionally, and was easy to communicate with especially dealing with the city and PGE to reactivate serivice. There was even a snag on a Sunday night, and Spencer came out personally to repair it so get the heating working again. Highly recommended!

Spencer and Jimmy were extremely professional. They were responsive, on time, articulate with their findings and explanation, and honest. I would highly recommend them to anyone with plumbing/rooter issues.

I will NOT use another company unless Mr. Rooter is not available. I will fully admit you may be able to find a plumber who will do the work or quote a smaller number but you will not have the faith of knowing the work is quality work, and what the costs will not inflate. I like that Mr. Rooter gives you a flat cost for the job not a vague hourly estimate. I'd rather pay for good workmanship, good customer service and known work order than pay less and worry that the cost may inflate. I basically will pay a little extra to not have to worry and it is WELL worth it. I have never felt ripped off or questioned their work. AND I have used them at least 5 times on several different properties. You pay for what you get.

Overall, I found the Mister Rooter team and organization extremely effective and professional. They really stood out. Their phone dispatch center is courteous, flexible with scheduling, knowledgeable about what it takes to complete plumbing installation and repair. The plumbers (Alejandro and Alfredo) not only know their craft but provide excellent customer service. They explain the situation, consider different options and discuss with homeowner, proactively manage expectations related to timing, provide updates while the work is in progress and write a summary report with photos at the end.

Mr. Rooter (Oakland) plumbing provided excellent service on two occasions. First, Spencer, the owner of this franchise, responded within hours to my backed up sewer lateral. He informed me that Albany City fixes this for free. He personally knew the City person responsible and he called on my behalf to order the repair. The City workers arrived the next day and fixed the problem for free! On another occasion, our garbage disposal failed. I got Spencer on the phone and he suggested an appropriate brand and model to replace it. I also asked for a new kitchen faucet, and he immediately recommended a faucet that we have loved. The plumber who arrived to replace our garbage disposal and faucet, named Alex, could not have been better. He was punctual, thoughtful, well informed, friendly and fast. He was thoroughly professional, and the work he did was excellent. I will definitely be calling Mr. Rooter of Oakland for my future plumbing needs.

I have a home with original 100-year and 80-year plumbing and this family-run business has been able to handle a multitude of problems for me. Best plumbing company ever

Chris Evans came on a Sunday to unclog the pipe running to my bathroom. He walked me through all the possible options, showing me how the cleanout and pipes under our house were set up, and then recommended a solution. He uninstalled the toilet and ran a cable 50 feet into our pipes. He did all of this super quickly and with great COVID safety protocols (mask, distancing, etc). He left our bathroom pretty clean and totally undamaged, inc washing sewage out of our tub. And Chris's quote for this work was about 30% less expensive than the Roto Rooter quote that we had gotten for the same job. I hope you never have this problem, but if you do I would definitely recommend Chris Evans at Mr. Rooter.

The operator took my call, made an appointment for me, then called me back to get a plumber sooner. He came out, explained what he would do. He was a good guy and was helpful. I will use them again

Alex the plumber was courteous, friendly, and excellent at removing and installing our new Toto toilet. They took the old toilet and packaging and all the trash and cleaned up very well. Everything went well, I’d use them again.

Do not use this company. They will overcharge you and manipulate you into thinking you need work done that you don’t. I called to have a leaky shower worked on. They came and without even taking the casing off, told me that because my shower head wasn’t “standard” it would cost me $590 bare minimum to have my shower fixed and that it could take weeks. I called another plumber who got it done in 30 minutes for $100 by replacing a tiny rubber fitting + spring that commonly wears out.

Mr. Rooter replaced our sewer lateral from our house to the city main in the street.

A few weeks ago I received excellent care--the best ever--from Alfredo Macias of Mr. Rooter here in Oakland. He was personable, very competent, and informative. I bought my house 22 years ago because of a spectacular yucca tree. Walked in the door, saw it in the backyard through the slider and didn't need to look further. One problem: roots. So the 10 years I have needed to get an annual clean out. Alfredo did a great job for a reasonable price and explained things as he went. And, we had a great conversation!! Gratitude and will use Mr. Rooter every year.

Mr. Rooter provides 24/7 on call service. I called late Saturday night and was able to schedule an appointment on the next day morning (Sunday) for a technician to come to provide a quote. Since our main water pine was leaking and would need to be repaired quickly, I agreed with price. They (5 people) came the next day (Monday) to replace the water pipe. The entire project was finished in one day. I am very much impressed by their quick response and good quantity of work. I highly recommend this company!

I own a property management company representing 1000 units in Oakland and Hayward. I called Mr. Rooter at 10 AM. It is now 12:08. I still have not received a call for a plumbing back up at a 50 unit building. My suggestion is never depend on them for 24 hour service. Just like most rooter companies they pretend like they can assist and have done absolutely nothing. I will be most certainly letting my large network of property owners know to never use Mr. Rooter moving forward. I suggest you look elsewhere unless you enjoy getting the run around and never being contacted.

We have a sump pump. We live on a hill. Our pump is going off about every five minutes after 8 Pineapple Express rain storms. It started making very ominous sounds. We called on a Thursday night, and they came and out and installed a new pump the next day! It doesn’t get better than that! We’ve used them for years because their service is just that good.

I called on Sunday night and Christopher, was on site Monday morning. My review is more for him than Mr. Rooter since he was the one that really impressed me. Wow! What a nice man!!! He quickly diagnosed the problem and offered a cost effective solution. He was a delight, fun, nice to my kids, and even gave them a Mr. Rooter Plumber Toy! Lance went above and beyond, literally! After spending an hour trying to root out our shower drain from the bathroom, he went into our crawl space to get a better look at the pipe junction that was causing the problems. He informed me of the situation and proposed a solution that didn’t involve a construction project; rooting the drain from the roof vent. He climbed up there and cleared the drain. He provided clear communication and a solution to our problem.

Mr. Rooter was very responsive,and on time. Returned phone calls as promised, technician was also very responsive. Technician Uriel was on time and polite, very professional looking. Uriel explained the process and all work that needed to be done, Uriel also answered all my questions with no problems, Uriel also quoted me a price for all work which was very reasonable after consulting with his supervisor. Uriel was also a very neat and organized worker, I also stood by and watched Uriel work at times, I felt very comfortable with leaving Uriel to do his work, because at times I was in and out of my house for errands. I could see Uriel was all business when he started working, Uriel was quick but also made sure he work was solid, after Completeing all work necessary Uriel explained what he had done. Uriel tested all connections for leaks and proper fittings after final completion. There was a little bit of a problem with a bathtub fitting, but Uriel took his time and found a solution that fixed the problem. I am completely satisfied with Uriel as a technician and with the work he performed, I am also satisfied with Mr. Rooter services. I will definatley recommend Mr. Rooter to friends and family and also recommend Uriel as their technician. From this point on I will continue to use Mr. Rooter for all my future plumbing needs, thanks to Uriels professionalism and kindness.

I had a problem with a toilet and the technician, Alex B, did splendid work! Not only dud he fix the toilet, but also he found that our water pressure was too high so he added a reducer. Plus, he also found that our irrigation has leakage. We just installed it last month so I immediately contacted the contractor. She will send me a worker next week.

Kitchen sink backed up needs to be clear of debris like Grease.

During recent storms our basement was flooded, for first time in 48 years. Zack Gilbert of Mr. Rooter came out and pumped out 6-8 inches of water in our 35' x 45' (no kidding) flooded basement. He worked hard to clear our storm drain. But roots had gotten through the pipe, and the drain was irretrievably closed. Zack called his boss, owner Spencer, who came out in twenty minutes.
They concluded that a sump pump was the only fix. The next day, just before the next big storm, the Mr. Rooter team installed the sump pump. No more flooding, and the price was fair. My wife and I are big fans of Spencer and especially Zack. (He was quite empathetic about the disaster that had hit our basement.)

Mr. Rooter to the rescue! Last Sunday while taking out the trash, I noticed my storm drain was emitting dirt into the gutter. That was strange, so I cleared the spillage. When I saw that more dirt spilled out out of the storm drain the next day, I called The Sibling and they advised me to call Mr. Rooter, along with keeping them posted of the goings-on. Mr. Rooter was humongous help when we had a sewer drain situation a year ago. So I called Mr. Rooter on Sunday, and on Monday, Diana returned my call. I told her about the storm drain emitting dirt into the gutter. She advised me she would send out Tyler Garcia, one of their service professionals as the first call. I remember Tyler from last year’s situation, such a professional, personable gentleman. Tyler came out and knew immediately what the situation was: the clay pipe had burst and considering I live in seventy-something house, it was definitely time to replace the storm drain. He walked around the exterior of the house to account as to how many drains were on the roof. He took a report and called the Mr. Rooter office to start the estimate process. We were emailed an estimate and once The Sibling approved of the estimate, I made arrangements to have the storm drain replaced in compliance with the city and county regulations.

Replacing the storm drain pipe and plumbing would be a two-day process. I was surprised to see Tyler again the first day with his colleagues, Will and Richard to do the work. I thought last year’s foreman Alfredo was going to return. This time, Tyler was the one in charge. I made sure to have coffee and bottled water available for them the two days as I knew it was going to be laborious. The first day was a lot of digging and replacing the pipe. The second day, they came back with their cement guy, Eric. Eric was very detail-oriented and meticulous in replacing the cement in the sidewalk and the slab on the walkway to the backyard. They covered the side walk with a large wooden board and an orange cone to dry out over the weekend. I was impressed with Eric’s work. And Tyler came back on Monday to take the board away, to water the lawn, and to do a touch-up around the storm drain entrance to blend in with the curb.

I highly recommend Mr. Rooter for all of your plumbing needs. Especially if one’s regular plumbers are unavailable. One of the plumbers/family friends recommended Mr. Rooter for the sewer situation. I recommend Mr. Rooter for sure regarding situations like the sewer, storm, and drain pipe renovations and repairs. If you are lucky to have Tyler Garcia to assess the situation, you are quite lucky being in good hands. Mr. Rooter to the rescue!

Steve came over for a free estimate and was on time (!) and very professional. Sent me the estimate within a couple of hours. After a few tweaks we set a date for the work (replacing kitchen sink, faucet and garbage disposal).

Spencer and his assistant came one hour into the two-hour appointment window and was very professional and knowledgeable about the task at hand. He finished the work in the timeframe he gave me (2 hours) and didn't mind my watching the whole operation (I'm curious, not nosy!). Both were friendly without being distracted, and except for a few little snags that had to do with my existing construction (which they were able to solve with a little sweat), all was done and it looks beautiful!

Alfredo was a lifesaver. He was extremely professional and arrived before the estimated time slot. He cleaned out our sump pit and took the debris with him. Our pump was replaced with a stronger one and has been working like a champ. Mr. Rooter saved us from more flooding in our in-law unit and allowed us to sleep peacefully during these pineapple express downpours. Spencer the owner was also very responsive and a pleasure to coordinate with. Highly recommend.

I called Mr. Rooter on New Years Eve day after our regular plumber couldn’t reach the clog in our kitchen sink. They were beyond excellent! They were able to schedule a visit same day and Jose was professional, gracious, fast and extremely knowledgeable. He cleared the drain and also installed an air gap for our dishwasher - not an easy task as he had limited access and had to deal with removing a lot of built up glue and sediment. Their work was exceptional and I will use them again. Don’t hesitate to call them. 100% recommend.

I called Mr. Rooter because we had a clog in our drain that caused water to spew all over the kitchen and laundry room. Got a same-day appt very quickly for later in the day. Uriel showed up and was absolutely a pleasure to deal with. He went under the house to verify his course of action and ended up using a machine-driven snake for the job due to the length, configuration, and pipe size. An hour later the clog was gone, water flowing down the drain rather than onto the floor - and enjoyed chatting with Uriel as he packed up his equipment.

I have gone with Mr. Rooter several times over the years - they replaced our sewer lateral, and installed a new toilet and flange when ours broke. My experiences with this company have always been positive. I have dealt both directly with the owner and with employees on different occasions. It has always been an easy and painless experience, which is why we are repeat customers. They do excellent work, this outfit is clearly run by good folks and they hire good people to work there.

I had a broken garbage disposal and Shayea Korin did a fantastic job repairing it on the same day! Despite it being a busy time with many plumbing issues in the Bay Area after the storm. Shayea was very professional and courteous! I would definitely use them again for future plumbing needs.

Sewage leaked into the garage from the clean out located in the garage. I called Mr. Rooter the next morning and was scheduled the same afternoon. Carlos Sanchez showed up in the timeframe allotted. He took off the cover plate and immediately saw paper. After putting on gloves, he removed all that he could see. He then used a 75’ snake to clear the line. Afterwards, he brought a camera to check the line for obstructions. There were none. What a relief! Carlos was very thorough and friendly. He made a couple of recommendations to make servicing easier. Thanks Carlos. You’re the man! He was done in less than an hour.

A bit pricey but very responsive and professional.

These folks are plumbing pros. They replaced our sewer lateral last year within budget and as promised. This most recent visit was for a vexing clog in our sewage line inside the house. They were here with an hour and immediately got to work. Cris Evans, a really knowledgeable and experienced plumber figured out where the clog was and stuck with it, cleared it and avoided a much more expensive repair. I am the second generation of my family using them and for good reason!

After an inspection of our drain clog, the service plumber, Lance, recommend several options and cost estimates. We decided to remove a previously installed drain clean out and install another that would allow access both up and down the drain pipe. Once that was installed, he cleared the drain and we're back in business again! Lance was professional and courteous, always wearing shoe covers when entering our house. I would definitely call Mr. Rooter for future plumbing problems.

Bathroom sink wasn’t draining. Didn’t respond to plunging or small hand snake. The Mr Rooter technician disconnected the sink outlet and used a professional snake to pull up a plant plug about 20 feet in. The tech was on time and very nice. Also Mr Rooter of Oakland has a real person answering the phone who can make an appointment right away. No waiting for a callback. Very good experience.

I simply do not trust Mr Rooter to be honest and fair. Over the phone, the plumber quoted me $1800 to replace a pipe that he said was leaking accompanied with a photo. I decided to see exactly what was wrong, so I drove from San Francisco to Oakland to see personally what was going on. When I got there, what the plumber was quoting $1800 was a simple fix that I could do myself. It required taking out the old galvanized and replacing a 4' piece with PVC. Hardly worth anywhere close to $1800. I told him to just clean out the clogged pipe as originally requested and I would do the rest. All the sudden the $1800 dropped to $275, which was still kinda high, but he was there with the parts, so I agreed. The total job took less than an hour to do. The charge, $300 to clean the pipe and $275 to replace the leaking joint and galvanized pipe.

If I didn't have a basic understanding of plumbing, enough to question his assessment, that job would have totaled $2100 for about an hours worth of work. Do you really think I should recommend your services to another unsuspecting victim? Hell no. Your company is what I would call a predator company, preying on those that have no knowledge of what is required, and relying on trust that is evidently absent.

Called for a faucet knob that came off. They came same day, within an hour and didn't even charge because it was a simple fix. Polite phone manners...all good!

The office staff did not do a good job. when we called them, they always say I will get back to you soon or right away. actually it was not. i.e. Chris, in the first time , I asked for changing the quote, since I need to remove one item from my quote, she said you will be contacted within 24 hours. I waited for 2 days, no body contact me, then I called again and got another staff serviced me, and I have to start over again again..
another thing made me upset. Usually when the job is completed, the costumer paid for, they should get a receipt, but it is not, the receipt is only provided upon required. today I call for receipt, Chris told me, she will send it to me in 2 minuets. I waited for whole day, I got nothing.

After another company came out and left not wanting to do the job….so I called Mr Rooter! So happy I did. The technician arrived in the wet dark evening and assessed what needed to be done. I've been hiring Mr. Rooter for about 15 years, because they do good work, and they make it right. A real person answers the phone. My home and rental house are both about 90 years old and have challenging plumbing. They fixed the pressure regulator problem which was making a horrible noise. They corrected the cross connection that kept us from turning off the water to the house. They repaired the broken water main without damaging the magnificent magnolia whose roots it ran through. They found a sink trap problem before I did. And they replace, fix, and repair more usual plumbing problems. All their plumbers and receptionists are a pleasure to work with.

Alfredo is very knowledgeable and professional. Always on time, and prepared to fix, change or replace whats needed. He is someone who takes pride on what he does and does it well.

This time, when it broke for the third time, we finally got it done right. Uriel explained every bend in the pipe. The new, better macerator Spencer recommended runs like a dream. I also love how this company functions as a teaching lineage, so young people can learn this important trade on the job.

Mr. Rooter was recommended by an architect. I was impressed by the tech, Jimmy Pham, they sent out to video my sewer line from house outlet to the center of the street. He explained what would be needed to comply with ebmud and they were responsive with their bid compared to some other companies that did not bid on the whole job. They got the work done quickly and it passed the PSL test. I have no information to judge the cost but one other bid was almost exactly the same for the same work scope. I have experience in other types of construction work and it seemed reasonable to me.

The people at Mr. Rooter are always polite and professional and do excellent work. They’re respectful of our space, follow appropriate COVID protocol, and are pleasant. The prices are extremely high though. I go with Mr. Rooter because I’ve always been disappointed working with other plumbers, so maybe this is the cost of doing business. Most recent work: unclog kitchen drain; 1.5 hours of work; $300. Previous: install new toilet (which we bought and had ready to go here) and take away old; just shy of 2 hours; $400.

We have only one bathroom and our bathtub was stopped up. Mr. Rooter’s representative Lance was able to come the same day in the evening and flush it out where it was better then it has been for years! My family and I are very happy with their service. Lance was wearing a mask, covered his shoes and hands and I felt safe during the shelter in place period. Fully recommend Mr. Rooter!

Well established full plumbing service company that works 24/7 everyday of the week. Recently, on a Sundays at 8:30 PM Reed of RotoRooter Oakland was at the rescue by 9 pm! I found that amazing. He was very efficient, respectful, skillfull, and equipped; he got the problem (backed up water in the kitchen sink & bathroom sink over flowing) fixed immediately! My hats off to Reed of RotoRooter.

They falsely advertise as a 24/7 service. I called requesting maintenance at 9:00 at night and I waited an hour for a response only to be told they would not be able to provide service until the following day at normal 9 to 5 business hours.

Lance is a really nice guy as well as professional. Had an ice/water line hooked up to the fridge. He installed the in-wall valve which required some new piping. Went smoothly an I now have ice and water. And, a fridge that can now be moved back 10”. Nice.

Had a very serious blockage in a tub drain, well over 25' down the pipe, and Mr Rooter came out with 2 guys and wouldn't stop until they managed to make things right. Really appreciate the thorough and professional work. Yes, definitely recommended for your serious plumbing issues.

When our sink backed up we called 2 or 3 different companies for emergency service, but Mr. Rooter seemed the most reasonably priced and highly regarded, so we went with them. The woman on the phone dispatched an employee and we got a call from Chris a few minutes later to confirm. He showed up and the first thing we noticed was how friendly he was. He then assessed the problem and began to explain in detail what he would be doing to remedy the issue. He was done with the job within an hour, and even went as far as explaining his work to our inquisitive 2-year-old daughter. Afterward, he gladly cleaned up the mess that ensued, going above and beyond to wipe down the kitchen floor & surrounding cabinets with cleaning product for our safety. The best part was that the amount due when the job was done was even less than the estimate he gave us over the phone. Every experience I’ve had with other plumbing companies prior has been less pleasant as a result of overcharging, and less-than-exemplary employees. Mr. Rooter was a refreshing exception to the norm.

The service person, Chris, was very nice and provided good tips. However, $215 was way too expensive for 15 minutesof work. I know that I can get a cheaper price elsewhere.

I called with a sewage pump ejector issue and was offered a service window later that day. A few minutes later Spencer, the owner gave me a call and offered to come by in the next 15 minutes to check out the issue and give me an estimate himself. He was able to walk me through his trouble shooting process, and provided reasonable quotes for all the different scenario of what he thought might be causing the problem. He was able to fix the issue himself on the spot. In total no more than an hour between when I called and when the problem was resolved. He also offered helpful tips on how to prevent the issue from reoccurring and showed me how to service the pump myself in the future.

I entered a request online for this group, and they responded that afternoon. They scheduled the onsite visit and work quickly, and the tech showed up for the job early, after calling to confirm that it was okay to come over early. He gave a reasonable quote, which I approved, and within two hours a clogged drain that has plagued us for months was cleared. The tech was courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable.

After a fire that destroyed the cottage behind my main house; discovered that my laundry room was plumbed to their water line! Alex and Diego came out and installed all new pipes, installed a shut off valve where I could get to it and installed an outside water spigot.

Sewage was getting pumped from my sump pump onto the street. There was a broken line somewhere...

I carefully reviewed a number leak detection services on Yelp before calling my second choice plumber, Mr. Rooter Plumbing of the Oakland... The first choice did not respond to calls and text and reviews suggested he was too busy to respond.

Mr. Rooter answered the phone, gave me a same day appointment and the tech arrived within the 2 hour window. Carlos was helpful and friendly as we tested various water sources to see find the leak. He found the broken pipe and we discussed how to repair the problem. Luckily, it was an exterior drain pipe running down the side of my house and the break was at dirt level. Unfortunately, there were multiple connections making access limited and difficult and a foot of dirt needed to be removed to get good access.

Carlos provided an estimate within 10 minutes after assessing the situation. A whopping $1,960 to remove all the ABS pipe around the leak and replace it with steel. Of course, there was a lower cash price reflecting about a 10% discount. Although this plumbing was new construction and the home improvement project recently passed building code inspection Carlos asserted the existing ABS pipe was non-compliant and must be replaced. He declined a temporary repair to prevent sewage from getting pumped into the street. I asked him if he had had some rubber fittings that would simply wrap the disconnected pipe to prevent further leakage. He declined to consider a temporary repair. I asked him if he would help dig dirt to expose the pipe while I consulted with the contractor responsible to seek a warranty repair. Carlos declined to help. His only proposal was to pay in full to remove everything purportedly non-complaint with Berkeley building code or do nothing. He left after I paid his $180 fee for the site visit. He promised to send me the estimate but it was never received.

I called another plumber I have used in the past but was unavailable on an emergency basis. I excavated the pipe by hand over the course of an hour to allow good access. The known plumber arrived the next day, assessed the problem and proposed a simple repair. I agreed. He went to the store for parts and completed repairs within an hour upon returning. Cost was less than $200.

Mr. Rooter responded quickly apparently trying to gouge a needy customer. I'll never call Mr. Rooter again. I will share my extremely experience with anyone looking for a plumbing recommendation. Beware of claims that pipes do not meet building code and all or nothing services. Had my project not been inspected recently I might have fallen for the building code error and wasted a lot of money.

I cannot recommend Shaeya enough for the fantastic work he did on our home. He completely re-piped our entire home with copper pipes and installed a brand new tankless water heater. He was efficient, kind, timely, and does amazing work. He has a vast skill set in plumbing and I’d rehire him again in a heartbeat. Excellent work all around.

I thought it was expensive for 10- 20 mins of work to clean an aerator and filter. Cost more than $200 for that. They did respond quickly though.

The estimator/foreman was very professional inspecting everything that needed to be done, spelled it out neatly, clearly, concisely verbally and in the written estimate. The job was promptly scheduled. Despite some problems encountered in this complicated 300' cast iron line, they deftly repaired the line in a systematic thorough way in order to pass inspection. Most impressive is that they planned enough time and man power to anticipate any possible problems ahead of time. The mark of a true pro in management as well as plumbing! I give them a 10 out of 10!

Our service person was punctual and thoroughly evaluated the situation before unclogging our toilet. We have 2 cleanouts which is unusual so he assessed the situation prior to proceeding. I highly recommend this company.

My neighbor called yesterday morning to say a hole had sprung in his yard and poop was flowing out of it. 🥴💩It took a while to determine it was coming from my pipes. Mr. Rooter arrived within an hour to assess the situation and scheduled the crew for the following day. While they were delayed due to another emergency, they were extremely informative and kind, and they did great work in a short timeframe. Turns out this is happening all over the hills — the excessive rains are damaging the infrastructure, even more so for homes like mine, where the pipes are decades old. I can’t speak to the price b/c we had to move fast and I don’t have anything to compare it to. But I am super grateful that they were available so quickly, and as usual, this happened the day before a holiday weekend. It could have been disastrous. Mr. Rooter made it right.

The folks at Mr. Rooter are not only the best in the industry with their skills and creative problem-solving, but are super professional, easy to work with, all have fantastic personalities, are responsive, and quite dedicated.

We purchased a 100+ year old home last year that needed all the work. New water heater, removal of old pipes and installation of new cooper ones, replacement of drainage pipes, new gas line to the water heater & HVAC, and new sub-sink waste centrifuge masticator. In a week's time, all the work was done to the highest of standards.

A test of quality and dependability is serviceability after work is complete (because, like everything else, things don't always function 100%). We've had a manufacturer defect in a part inside the Navien tankless water heater, which caused water temperatures to not heat up sporadically. Super frustrating, but three times the team came out right away until they figured out the issue (these machines are super high tech, so it takes some time to get to the bottom of it). A replacement part and several troubleshooting hours later (under warranty and at zero additional cost to us), the issue was resolved. Bravo for the team's persistence!

We have more work to be done very soon, and will update this review once that's finished. In the meanwhile, we always recommend the folks at Mr. Rooter Oakland/Berkeley to anyone looking for a suggestion (like a neighbour a street over who, today, asked our Facebook group for recommendations, which we happily gave the phone/email for Mr. Rooter to).

Oh... pricing is super fair too. We had contacted about 5 other companies when we scoped out the work. Though Mr. Rooter wasn't the cheapest (you get what you pay for), they were also not the most expensive. We feel like we struck an awesome middle ground that optimized the quality-to-cost function.

So yeah... all the positive reviews here are very much on par with what you'd want in a plumbing company. Bravo to the wonderful crew at Mr. Rooter!

The Mr. Rooter service came right on time,the cost agreed upon, the problem studied and the story of what had been done. (i.e. of the gallon of Drano used by the home owner to no success). Mr. Rooter figured out a solution , the electric snake was used to clear the clogged drain with great success, I cheered , paid a bill and he was gone in 45 minutes.

I called Mr. Rooter when our kitchen sink backed up. They quickly scheduled a plumber to come out and he actually arrived early! Jose Alfredo was very nice and professional and was able to quickly fix our blocked pipes. He was very respectful, especially during Covid times, wearing a mask the whole time and keeping distance from us. We were very pleased with Mr. Rooter and especially with the job Jose Alfredo did!

Old rusted pipe, turned small job into big job. Plumber arrived about 2:30 then left and went to get parts and told me it would be 4 hour job. Returned about 4... I was ready to reschedule but he said he would do it. He completed job at about 8, even had another guy come help. Very professional and I appreciate him working through to get job done

There is nothing as unsettling as having your clogged toilet overflowing onto your bathroom floor and heading for the hallway and the rest of the house at 1am. How many towels can you quickly lay hands on to make a dam? That's what we were doing this morning. Despite having 24 hour service, by the time we were done mopping up we decided to go to sleep. We called Mr. Rooter at 7am, left a message with their answering service, got a swift call back and got scheduled for arrival between 10 am & noon. Mr. Rooter showed up on time (well before noon!) and the plumber was polite, clean -- he had shoe coverings! -- and well able to cope with our toilet. We can flush again! Their technician gave us some good advice about our toilet and a drippy sink faucet. Everything was clean when he left. The fee was market rate, and while I hate wasting money, I am only too happy to have our only bathroom back up and running! (Did I mention there are 4 of us and only 1 bathroom?) Mr. Rooter was prompt, competent, clean, pleasant and fair priced. We have a new go-to plumber. Thank you Mr. Rooter -- but I hope we don't meet under these circumstances again anytime soon.

This company was our second opinion. The first company Oakland Rooter wanted to charge us for redoing the whole plumbing system in our house. But Jose from Mr. Rooter came in diagnosed the problem, showed me the details of his method fixing it, He had the right tools and proceeded to do what the previous company could not do which was unclog our drains. They even provided us with a environmental safe drain cleaner to follow up the unclogging of the drain

The first company also had problems with the little thinGs like respecting the cleanliness of our house. Jose put protective booties over his shoes every time he entered our house. And even laid out a mat at our front door.

These guys are great. Have had them out for many issues over the years. Most recently they ran a Gas line for a new fireplace insert. The two plumbers Alex and Sunti were very professional. They wore booties on their shoes and kept everything really clean and cleaned up well after themselves. I really appreciated that.

He evaluated the situation, said that he could fix it, offered me 2 prices based on what he could do,. I agreed and within the hour he had completed the work. Aidan was respectful, polite, knowledgeable and just a very nice guy. Definitely would recommend Mr. Rooter in the future.

This has been the only plumber I would ever use. I have an advantage Plan membership which is supposed to provide priority sevice. I had no issues until I needed them for an urgent sewage situation on a Sunday. Despite their 24/7 assurances on their website, the after hours service was basically a call center and one contractor who could not promise service and communicated poorly. No one was able to come but we didnt find out until late in the day, and only after calling a bunch of times. I had to start all over again Monday morning. They did fit me in quickly and did a great job as usual. So Id still recommend them. I just wish they were more honest in setting expectations on after-hours service.
