I thoughts Mr. Plumber would right a wrong, but I was mistaken.We've used Mr. Plumber for years for general maintenance, and usually the techs are high quality, but recently had an old leaking 2nd story shower we asked them to take a look at. I told the plumber I suspected it was faulty grout issue but just wanted to make sure. Seemingly in a hurry, he was insistent it had to be the shower hardware behind the wall, which he could fix for $1200. I deferred to his expertise and all that money later, we had the same exact leak that same day. I was able to stop the leak days later simply with more caulk. He also quoted me on another repair and when his manager came out he said that repair couldn't even be done. I was told this was one of their more experienced plumbers. After sharing our dissatisfaction, they only quoted us more work at a discount or offered a $200 refund. We took the refund, but they could never provide any proof that the $1200 fix was necessary, no proof that there was any reason to believe that was the source of the leak. I had another plumber from another company out for a second opinion and he said 8/10 times the type of leak I had is a grout issue. So, my wife who was present for all of this, and I feel cheated out of $1000 and now there's holes in the ceiling and wall we're left to deal with as well.

I had a clog in the main sewer line right outside the house. I called another company first and after waiting 3 1/2 hours with no call from the tech, I cancelled and called Roto-Rooter. They sent the technician, Phillip, out. He was really very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained what he thought was wrong and what he would do to fix it. The price was not bad. He used the machine to clean out the drain and made sure the drain was clear before leaving. He tested all the different faucets and toilets in the house to make sure there were no other clogs inside and that the running water was leaving the house. I had a great experience with them and would recommend them to my family and friends.

We were experiencing very high energy bills during the winter months. Our house has a heat pump and since this was my first experience with a heat pump I thought the high bills might be due to that system not being efficient. I called North Comfort to come out and look at our furnace to see if they could figure out why our system wasn't running efficiently. Found out that the new thermostat I installed last winter was not hooked up correctly so it was only using the aux heat source. The tech rewired the thermostat and now the heat pump is working. Northern was great. They were able to send someone out the same day I called. The tech was great and explained what he had to do and then checked to make sure everything was running. I would highly recommend Northern Comfort.
