I was amazed at the level of service I received with Northern Comfort Systems. I was selling my home and needed a quick turn around on some past due maintenance with my water heater and HVAC. From my first interaction scheduling the appointment I knew I called the right company. They were professional, courteous, and were able to make a visit happen that week. The technician, Joe, kept me informed and was efficient. The pricing was reasonable and there were no surprise charges. I am still amazed at how quick and smooth the entire process went from start to finish. When I look at the overall experience I couldn’t have had better expert level service. I can’t say enough good about Northern Comfort. There had been 4 companies in my home to service my furnace and not one of them found my cracked heat exchanger and carbon monoxide leak. Joe checked it and found it quickly. I needed a new furnace, Zach and Adam had it installed that same week. They were all very knowledgeable, professional and kind. I would highly recommend Northern Comfort if you’re in need of a new heating and cooling system!

Northern Comfort Systems did an exceptional job. They have made a customer for life. They escalated our service to happen same day after several days without hot water. The technicians were all friendly and knowledgeable. Comfort Advisor Mike was very thorough and patient. Our new furnace is so much quieter and we are much more comfortable, and the price was a lot less than quotes we received from Williams and that other Peter something company.

We’ve always had friendly and knowledgeable technicians that come to our home to perform furnace and air conditioner maintenance. There is good communication regarding arrival times.
They take the time to explain how to keep our equipment in good working order. They offer different levels of multi-year maintenance plans that include discounts for general maintenance as well as repair service calls. We are very happy with the service. It’s a great company with a small-town feel.

We’ve been using Northern Comfort since purchasing our house in 2019 and have always been very happy with the level of service and customer support they provide. We just had to replace our A/C and Furnace and had a great experience. We’re incredibly happy with our new units and the follow through from the various team members at Northern. Would highly recommend!

Wife and I decided to replace our 17 year old HVAC system and contacted the good folks at Northern Comfort. We were so impressed with the offering and the service our neighbor received that we decided to go with them. The price for a new system was excellent and the installation was impeccable. I have been using this business since I retired from the military. They have helped my family handle a lot of emergencies from not receiving the best home inspection before purchasing. I have had my a/c, water softener, and hvac unit replaced. Outstanding service by an outstanding company.

Bought new HVAC for my rental property in December ($10k) and the unit stopped working beginning of March (3 months ).
The Technician came out and said he doesn't have the part to fix the unit, so we waited for 3 days on the part (sensor). During that time we had frigid weather and the tech brought me 2 radiator heaters to keep 5 bedroom house warm. When the part finally came it turned out the technician was wrong because it was something else...where he again didn't have parts on hand...so we have been waiting ...now for 2 weeks where he told us 3-5 days...no updates on when this get fixed from anyone from Northern Comfort... I spoke with some lady over the phone complaining about this...yet nothing...I have no choice but to talk to a lawyer as of now because this unit is under warranty and its been almost a month where this could have been fixed. I do not recommend this business to anyone. Northern Comfort seems to have 24 hour operations with no parts on hand. Once they sell you new unit they don't care anymore and you are on your own. I have also notified BBB about the situation. I will never do business with them again.

We are very happy with our 2 new HVAC systems, new sump pump, new water heater, new outdoor water spigots, water softener maintenance, and everything that goes along with them! Their HVAC technician Dustin, and their plumber Joe, always takes great care of us during and after installation, also providing maintenance several times a year. They are the best!!

I had this system installed in June, Mike was the sales Rep that helped me get the right system in place and it works great for the space. Tom, recently came out to do an included inspection and cleaning. Great service and great people.

AC went down on Sunday, got a referral from a work colleague. Called Monday morning, tech out that afternoon and the problem solved. Will definately call again whenever the need arises.

Very pleased with Tom, their technician. He diagnosed a problem and when it was time to install it, he realized that the old part was, in fact, fine. He properly connected the old one and issued a refund on the part I purchased. Thank you, Tom, for your honesty and knowledge as a technician!

Communication was great everyone was very professional and I like the fact they didn't try to oversell or push anything on us. It was like working with a knowledgeable family friend.

The only negative things I can think of was not knowing when they were coming they just give you a day and tell you they will give you a 45 min pre warning before they head in that direction. Being 30min away from anything I couldn't really plan anything. The other negative thing would be before they could inspect our systems they had to try and fix it. At the time they said the unit was over heating because of a dirty filter. That cost us $113 which I feel in hindsight it was a waste of time and money.

The second date was to do the actual testing on both our hvac systems. They only had us pay for one inspection since the other one immediately failed the first test. There was no long wait once they realized our heating and a/c unit needed to be replaced they had someone price everything out with us the next day. They knew the weather was going to start getting cold so they saw the situation as an urgent matter.

They told us they were not the highest price but they were not the lowest. We wouldn't have to worry about the company going out of business and losing our warranties because they were larger and have been around for a long time. They said the lower price companies are ones that don't usually last long and with hvac work you don't need schooling to work on them so it's important who you go with. They were knowledgeable and helped us choose the right unit for us. Putting a new hvac and a/c was not cheap by any means it was about 11k however they have affordable monthly financing for a little over $100 a month so it won't completely wreck your lifestyle. They respect military veterans and gave us a certain percent off which I appreciate.

After that they knew the weather was going to get cold so after everything was priced out and approved they had a group of guys come out the next day and they didn't stop until everything was working on the same day of install. It was non stop work from 8am until right before dinner time.

As a woman sometimes I can feel uncomfortable being alone with a group of strangers but they made me feel at ease they were very trustworthy. I would definitely recommend this company.

Zach VanSickle came out to inspect our HVAC unit and he was great. Very professional and answered all of our questions!

I have used Lehmans for probably 40 years. I am very thankful the staff is still there. So, as usual, they were professional, on time, efficient, and great to work with as Northern Comfort.

We contacted Northern to get a second opinion after another HVAC company told us we were facing a $3000+ bill to fix our AC. I called in the morning and Tom, the technician, was here later the same day. He was much more thorough and discovered an issue from an unusual modification made by the previous home owner that was completely overlooked by the other company. The fix ended up being much simpler, cheaper, and quicker.

Services were above and beyond his duties. Meticulous, caring, and helpful with two
big dogs , that accepted his friendship.

Michael did an awesome job today. Explaining everything he did doing our check up on our furnace. He is pleasure to have take care of maintenance of my furnace. He is always a great pleasure.

Always on time and courteous with very knowledgeable technicians. I believe they are fair and transparent so elected to sign a yearly maintenance agreement.

I've used Northern Comfort multiple times in the past few years and they have been great. Their prices are fair, their technicians are very knowledgeable and they've been able to quickly respond to any issues I've had.

I needed a second opinion on what was going on with my heat pump. The techs came out and were able to confirm that the previous company did not set my thermostat properly, which caused two months of outrageous heating bills. While there, they also took the time to inspect my outside unit to ensure it was working properly. I will use their services from now on.

Dustin was out today for our furnace check-up. He was professional, polite, respective of our house, answered my questions, and overall provided great service. We have used Northern since 2010 when they installed our HVAC system. I would encourage you to always do research when needing a repair and negotiate. Northern does tend to be on the higher end of a repair cost, but I have found them to be reasonable when pushing back on original estimates.

Northern Comfort Systems plumbing technician, Aaron, was very professional, experienced, engaging in what he was doing and why, courteous, on-time, and worthy of high compliments and thanks. Our ongoing experience with Northern Comfort Systems has been very excellent and we highly recommend them for complete plumbing, heating, and air conditioning maintenance. and sales. We contacted Northern Comfort Systems on a Friday afternoon because our water heater needed to be replaced. Aaron Adams came out that day. He was very knowledgeable about our options and was able to help us choose the best model to fit our needs. Aaron came back out on Monday to install the unit. He was very professional, answered our questions, educated us on the system, and cleaned up the area when the job was complete. We will definitely use the company again.

Northern Comfort has been wonderful. They are very responsive and professional. We purchased a whole home humidifier and air purifier last fall and it has made such a difference in our home. My family’s allergies have been better and the air just seems cleaner. My son was getting nose bleeds from the dry air and he did not have a single one after getting the humidifier was installed. Also, when our AC went out 3 years ago on Memorial Day weekend they came out and worked until 1am to get our AC back on. Thank you Northern Comfort for the recommendations and great service!

Guys that come to do maintenance are always friendly, helpful, and thorough. We installed a new furnace & Dustin was *excellent* in maximizing the space in our attic and placing the duct work intelligently. He made sure it was done right and that everything was cleaned up before leaving. I can't imagine using anyone else.

He's a very personable technician, who will take the time to explain options to you without talking down to you. The technicians at Northern seem to stick around, I've used other companies before I found Northern and the techs weren't nearly as knowledgeable.

Had a very good experience with Northern all the way around. I have trusted them with my HVAC maintenance ever since I bought my house. I just went through an overhaul installation project to get all new HVAC and water heater systems. The sales team was very open to hearing my requests and worked around my budget well, with good follow up during the project. The team performing the install were timely, not interruptive of my daily routine as I worked from home, and did not finish the work day until they made sure my furnace was working. Definitely consider Northern with your HVAC needs.

Dustin is awesome. He is always on time, professional, friendly, and willing to answer my questions. We request him for our service calls and regular maintenance. We had to get a new system last summer and Northern’s quote and service was unbeatable. Dustin was there for that install and was awesome. Thanks Dustin for reliably great service!!

Joe was quick, precise, professional and experienced. He cut a clean hole in the drywall, found and diagnosed our water leak quickly, and repaired it without any fuss. Granted, it was a minor problem but I would use them again for anything major. Their prices are fair.

Michael has been doing our biannual A/C and Furnace checkup every year for the past 4 years and we love the great work he does! He's so thorough in conducting his work and wonderful at explaining everything to us. I highly recommend this company for heating and cooling, and a plumbing service we did once as well. This company does not value or respect customers’ time. Most customers are home due to the pandemic working and teaching their children, so they do not always have the ability to answer their phone. A reputable company would give you a call ahead and still come out. A poor company like this one, tells you that if you do not call them back, they’re not coming out and they mean it. The time I spent waiting for them I could have already had a reputable, customer friendly company service my unit.

This company was one of many that I contacted last year to give me an estimate on installing a new faucet in my second bathroom. I did not go with their estimate but of the three companies I contacted, once this company got my information I began to get junk mail, junk email and phone calls advertising their services and trying to sell me one of their service contracts. Unfortunately, I have not figured out a way to stop their junk mail, but I did opt out of their emails and blocked their number, so I no longer received unsolicited phone calls.

Fast forward to this year, I was looking to get a tune-up on my furnace for the season. I remembered using them last year, so I called to schedule an appointment. HUGE MISTAKE!! The day of the appointment I waited all day, and no one arrived. I called when it got late in the day and the girl I spoke with told me there was a note on my account saying I need to reschedule. When I asked her why, she claimed they called and when there was no answer, they left a message and I never called back. Like most people, I screen calls, so if I do not recognize the number I do not answer. I only received one message that day and it was one second long, so I know they are lying. When I relayed this info to the girl, she told me again they did leave a message. I was not in the mood to argue but that should have been a red flag. I rescheduled the appointment for the following week and again they were a no call, no show. This time I did not mind because I had an emergency, so I was pressed for time but unprofessional none the less. I rescheduled for a third time and again no one called or showed up. At that point I was heated and decided to look for a reputable company. The following day I did actually get a call and there was a message left stating “they were ready to send someone out to me but before they do they need a call back to confirm someone was going to be home.” I was VERY heated at that point. I called the number back letting them know that they scheduled the appointment for the wrong day and I have already wasted two days waiting for someone to come out.

Replacement of kitchen faucet and installation of new water shut off valves due to leaking kitchen faucet. Service technician was efficient and cleaned up all replaced parts. I would recommend their services. My other family members utilize their services and have been totally satisfied.

They were on time and kept us up to date on the process and when they would be done. After they installed it they gave us the rundown about the water heater! We would definitely recommend them and use them again!

Tom was great!! He carefully explained everything and did the repairs on both my AC and Furnace. He didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need and I felt so much confidence in his honesty and ability. I had never used Northern Comfort before but was recommended by my realtor. We were a long time customer before moving out East and then returning to Indianapolis. They installed a new furnace, AC compressor and water softener late last fall and came back to service both HVAC units. Joe is polite, professional, explains the work he did and even cleaned up after himself. A rarity for a lot of service companies. They even called ahead of time to say somebody was on their way. We would recommend them to anyone that needs service.

Northern has been taking care of our heating and cooling needs for several years now. Our home is older and we have had routine servicing, repair and replacement needs over the years. The office staff is always friendly and accommodating, and service technicians are on time, respectful and professional. Before we had to finally replace our system, all efforts to conservatively service / save it were made. Northern worked with us to replace with a comparable system at an affordable price. Would definitely recommend this company.

Michael serviced my furnace on 12/9/19. Michael is always detailed in his service that he provides. He explains everything before hand and then after everything is done he explains what was or was not found. I like that he enjoys his work. Michael goes the extra step when he does not have to. He even labeled all my Valves for the main water, water heater and gas so that in an emergency situation when I might not be thinking straight, I can find the correct valve quickly. It is nice to know that your services are quality and dependable. Keep up the good work!

Joe came out to do a sump pump inspection and make a couple recommendations on the drainage line. While here I had him quote a couple other plumbing items. He was very willing to quote the other items and provided a VERY reasonable quote to fix the issue. While I haven't had a ton of work done with this company - I've been very impressed with the service they've provided thus far! Will use them again.

Our water heater came to it's end at 6pm on Wednesday night. I had a big group of folks coming to the house on Friday and a full day of work to do on Thursday. I called Northern Comfort Systems at 6:30pm on Wednesday and by 3pm on Thursday, Aaron had our new water heater fully installed without us having to be home to supervise. He was quick, neat, polite and professional. I cannot tell you how much we appreciated the quick fix with a quality experience. Thank you!!! Every time I call Northern Comfort Systems they are so helpful and polite.

Our technician Aaron was great and did nice clean work. The only reason for 4stars is we felt that the price for the service was quite high. We are happy with the work and they were able to come after 5 on a Friday night.

He was punctual and quick. I ask him if the exterior coil cleaning was part of the tuneup and he said yes if it needs it. Since it had been cleaned six months ago he said they were not very dirty but he would do it anyway. He wore a mask, gloves and paper shoe covers. Explained the age of my unit without pushing the sales of a new unit on me. Very professional

Tom, Nick and Mike were timely, friendly professional and thorough. I had to have my entire HVAC system replaced. They answered all my questions and and were very transparent about the whole process. They did an excellent job.

Joe Wood was our professional technician this evening. He was so knowledgeable, professional, and fixed our problem. We had a bad renovation of our home, and there are other issues that need to be addressed. He was extremely thorough with his diagnosis of the issues, and is going to work up a quote. I would highly recommend this company and would tell you to ask for Joe, unless it conflicts with my schedule, then ask for someone else!

Johnnie T. came to the rescue today. Our furnace went out at 11 at night and the temperature outside was around zero. My husband left a message with Northern Comfort Systems and a few other places. Michael was the first one to return the call in the morning, and came and did an inspection about an hour later. Unfortunately it was determined that our Furnace needed replaced due to safety reasons. I feared that it would take days. But Johnnie was available to install the new furnace immediately. He was super courteous, kind and thorough with the installation. He froze his butt off in my basement for hours and kept a positive attitude the entire time. Only a few short hours later the house had heat again. And as a plus, he made sure to wipe his feet off every time he had to go out and come back into the house, and he did one hell of a job cleaning up all of the mess from the work. My husband and I have 3 kids and my husband was leaving for a business trip the next day. So when I say that he came to the rescue, I sincerely mean it! I honestly cannot thank him enough, so I will just submit this review. Great people, I highly recommend you give them a call first.

TL/DR - Tries to stick it to you and their employees.
My furnace needed a new igniter, I had diagnosed this problem myself. None of the supply shops had one that fit my model so I called in the pros. I was told I'd needed to pay a $89 diagnostic fee in order to get the furnace fixed, I said okay have someone come out. Guy came out, looked at it( didn't touch a thing) told me that I was right, but after looking in the truck, also didn't have the part. Told me he could come back tomorrow with the part and it would cost me $390. This is a $45 dollar part and an easy install). Total of 5 minutes and no solution still cost me the $89. The guy tried to tell his boss to only charge me half or none, and the boss told him it was coming out of his paycheck if didn't charge me the full price.

I paid the $89 and considered myself getting off cheap rather than doing actual business with them. Be careful if you do go through with them and make sure you are not getting ripped off for parts or labor.

Any company out to make a quick buck and punish their employees for making reasonable sales calls should not be in business.

The whole experience was beyond incredible. No hidden sales tactics. Extremely polite, fast, professional technicians performed the work. They were responsive to our needs and questions. The process was fast, yet they were patient and thorough. Best service experience and I work in the field!

Our air conditioner wasn't working and I called and Michael came out the early same day. He was on time, very professional and easy to understand. He left us with many options to choose from on how to fix our system. Although we did go a different direction, Michael gave us 5 star treatment.

Great customer service all around! Aaron Adams was my Plumbing Tech and he was superb. Knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond, as far as I was concerned. Would heartily recommend.

Had pipes freeze in garage on below zero day. Aaron was out within an hour was extremely helpful and respectful, and gave us a fair price as well as knowledge for the future. I would certainly recommend him and the company.

Our air conditioner went out over the 4th of July not to be really noticed until Sunday. My husband called and they put us on the list. We got a call at 8:03 Monday morning. Brandon W was here before noon. After trying a new capacitor which didn't solve the problem we opted for a whole new A/C and furnace system because of its age. He gave us several different estimates. We chose one and he was here at 9:00 a.m. the next morning. He worked steadily until 6:00 p.m. at which time everything was up and cooling. He was very professional. On a follow-up call today he tested the furnace not having wanted to heat us up more at the previous service call. That was extremely thoughtful of him. Highly recommend Northern's service from the office staff to the technician and equipment.

We were experiencing very high energy bills during the winter months. Our house has a heat pump and since this was my first experience with a heat pump I thought the high bills might be due to that system not being efficient. I called North Comfort to come out and look at our furnace to see if they could figure out why our system wasn't running efficiently. Found out that the new thermostat I installed last winter was not hooked up correctly so it was only using the aux heat source. The tech rewired the thermostat and now the heat pump is working. Northern was great. They were able to send someone out the same day I called. The tech was great and explained what he had to do and then checked to make sure everything was running. I would highly recommend Northern Comfort.

Have worked with these guys since buying home in 2013. System was installed in 2012, so just now 5 years old. We replaced evaporator coil this summer for $1500 (including refrigerant fill). System was not working right, so called for service. Was told that compressor was out, a nearly 2k repair. Called to share my concern for the cost of maintaining this system was told they could see if manufacturer would help out. Received an email from service manager to let me know that they couldn't do anything else to help and that they really should have charged us for the part and labor so they would be happy to help us out for the 2k (labor cost). Got new quotes from a different company for a better system, better financing, lower service call price and tore out their junk. Techs were always very friendly, but the service office was less than helpful and just too expensive to maintain their equipment. Would recommend looking elsewhere.

I had a sewer pipe burst over a holiday weekend. They came to my Rescue and fixed the old cast iron pipe. They had to cut it out of two Block Walls in my basement. The techs also fixed a stuck water main shut off and toilet. The guys also checked out the remaining cast iron pipe making sure it was all in good shape. I will definitely be using them in the future and recommending them to others in the future.

Jordan K. was a great Service Technician to work with. He arrived when expected, explained what he'd be checking while he was here, and even remembered where the thermostat and heat pump were from the last visit several months ago. He was very polite and well-spoken throughout the visit, explaining different things and providing information about what was working fine, what seemed slightly off-kilter, and what action he recommended. He was already familiar with our service plan and what discounts were included with that as well.

They came out to my rental today. The tech was friendly and thorough. He took his time and explained everything to me which is great because I am not savvy in regards to water heaters!!! Thank you for great service!

I moved into a new condo and was super eager to install my new Nest Learning Thermostat. I was so eager in fact that I didn't bother to read the instructions. After removing the old thermostat and installing the new Nest I realized I hadn't labeled the wires on the old thermostat or taken a picture of them prior to disconnecting them from the old thermostat. I was left with a mess of wires and no idea where to connect them. I had an appointment scheduled with another company to come out and fix my mistake but they never showed up. I called Northern Comfort Systems at 5pm on a Saturday after seeing them listed on the Nest website. When I called their emergency dispatcher answered the phone and was not able to answer my question regarding how much it would cost to have someone come out and hookup my Nest thermostat. The dispatcher was very friendly and took down my name and contact information and told me she would pass it on to their on call technician. Within 3 minutes of hanging up the phone I received a call back from their on call technician. I explained my issue and asked how much it would cost to fix it. The technician told me it would cost 178 dollars just to come out and diagnose the problem and another 150-400 dollars to fix it. The thought of spending a few nights without heat sounded pretty good compared to shelling out over 300 dollars to have issue fixed. I informed the technician that it was not an emergency and I did not want him to come out on Saturday after hours. I had resided myself to going without heat for a few days until I could get another installer out to fix the issue for considerable less money as all of the other installers I had contacted on the Nest website offered flat rate installations for the Nest Thermostat ranging from 99 to 160 dollars. The technician then offered to assist me over the phone. He asked me to go to my thermostat and tell him what colors the wires were. The techician walked me through wiring my Nest thermostat over the phone! It took all of 5 minutes and I was able to safely and correctly get the Nest wired up and my heat running and it didn't cost me a dime! This kind of service is unheard of in today's world. Not only has Northern Comfort Systems earned my trust they have earned my future business. I highly recommend Northern Comfort Systems to anyone in need of electrical work.

The Tech didn't know how to get it back online and said we need to figure it out. the Tech actually came back out at no charge and together we figured out how to set up the app controller. Aaron gave it a great effort, but they still couldn't clear the problem. I would have given him a 5 but i had set the appt for the day before and when i called that morning they had no record of me calling and finding that appt, even after i told them the exact time i called in. Planning a day off to fix a problem and then a no show would have been worse, but that was aggravating enough.

Very Professional all the way around - evaluation, laying out your options, scheduling, and installation . Hot water heater installation was done very well and installer was very good at what he did. Only negative - a little pricey.

It was difficult to diagnose and he ended up looking at two different parts before he was able to determine the actual cause. We appreciate his persistence!
