We experienced a blockage of a kitchen drain, so began to call plumbers for assistance. Most plumbing businesses were giving us a 4-6 day wait list. Roto-Rooter said they would be out the next day, between 10am and 2pm on Saturday. At 11:30, we received a call that the plumber was running behind.
By 5:30pm, we received no further word, so I called their office. I was told we were not forgotten. Nothing the rest of the night.
Sunday morning, I called them at 9:30am to see what was going on. I was passed to several different people before hearing that we were again on the schedule between 10 & 2. At Noon, I received a call that the plumber was again running behind. He showed up at 4pm and got right to work. He was very nice, polite and answered all the questions I had. He even provided tips to avoid drain issues in the future.
Then came the bill, which was $440. Definitely not pleased by the wait time, the lack of communication and a stiff bill. At no time did we argue or raise voices. It was an overall polite experience on the phone.
Our plumber was very nice and have nothing bad to say about him. My disappointment was lack communication, coordination and the dispatching of his services. I’m sure he was only following orders.
Still, not sure I will use them again or even recommend them.

Today we realized we had no idea how to install a sink after our counters were installed. So we were in a panic because our main water was shut off and if we didn’t get someone out ASAP to fix it we were not going to have running water until someone could. Dave and Mike showed up within an hour of calling and gave a quote within 5 minutes of being here. They were incredibly professional and helpful and installed the sink, cleaned up the mess from the counter installation, tested to make sure there were no leaks, turned the water back on and did it all with a smile! I truly appreciated their amazing attitude, professionalism and prompt service! Mike said that Dave is the wizard and I wholeheartedly agree! Thank you so much!!

Recently had a shower leak that went down into our kitchen. Everyone was extremely quick to respond and helpful. They have came everyday to check equipment and working hard to get my floor/ceiling dry. They even got me a first aid kit when I accidentally cut my finger while they were at my house! Second time using this company and definitely will for any other water related issues.
My wife called me telling me the tub was leaking into our kitchen. I called around and everyone was closed or unavailable. I called these guys and they answered immediately, told me they had guys in the area, and sent someone over within 30 minutes. They inspected the leak and showed me how I can solve the issue quickly WITHOUT CHARGING. They could have fixed it and charged me anything or charged for the trip out here.
(we all have experienced plumbers that charge without rhyme or reason). I'm gonna fix the issue today but they have a customer for life.

I worked with Bobby and we had an issue where the water company had to turn off our water at the street. I texted Bobby when they arrived and he was here 30 minutes later, fixed our issue and was out the door within 30 minutes of arriving. Dave & William were dispatched for a simple toilet install. They were able to identify and resolve a deeper issue and though it was a bit more expensive today, their work saved me a lot of headache and potentially much more expensive repairs in the future.
After this terrible experience, I would not recommend them if all other plumbing companies left Columbus. I had a sewer water back up at my home. I reached out to Roto-Rooter among other plumbers, but Roto-Rooter was the quickest to be able to get someone out there (so I thought). Dave P. showed up the next morning, but he was only there to take photos and measurements. I was told to sign here, here, and here. That the paperwork was saying they would be coming out to clear the clog and do the work. Dave said he would have his team out there either later that day or the next day to clear the clog and drain the water. This unfortunately was the start of the miscommunication. Roto-Rooter sent out folks on 3 separate occasions prior to Seth coming out. This equated to 3 days of my basement having standing water and 1.5 days of work missed. Dispatch sent Melinda, Shawn, Keith and a water management manager. Each time these folks told me they were not the right person to help and I'd be put back on the list. This is all with having the time of each of these folks being pushed back. For example, at 12:30pm, I was told my window was between 12-4pm...they didn't show until closer to 7:45pm. No communication other than I'm sorry but he is coming or dispatch is in Chicago but we've tried to explain to her that we are not the right person to help. Side note issue, my name and email were incorrect even after I confirmed my name several times. They had my name listed as Layla and an email I've never had even after confirming and providing Dave with my email.
Seth comes, clears the clog, and his supervisor confirmed the line is clear. I paid $716 for Seth's services. Almost 2 weeks later, I get a bill for over $13,600 for the removal of wood paneling, tile flooring, and taking a chair and two storage cabinets to the back of my house, and setting up dryers and dehumidifies (some of which weren't even powered on). Emily said that I was made aware of the estimate when I signed the paper work with Dave. That is a lie. Matter of fact, I asked Dave on numerous occasions where we stood with the estimate and was told we still don't have it yet. After speaking with the manager Rick, I have been told that unfortunately they can't do anything since my $13k invoice IS within their estimate window and they have my signature on file. If I knew that removing wall paneling and tile floors would cost almost $14K, I would had these damages removed by other means. Absolutely unacceptable from the inconvenience, lack of communication, and complete disregard for customer service practices. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

Setting the appointment was difficult. When they arrived it was fine. Job was explained and completed. Only complaint was waiting around, calling back and waiting again (arrived later than proposed) after 3 calls.
Dave quickly diagnosed the issue, and presented a solution. He was knowledgeable, extremely professional, and he did a great job. I’ll definitely hire Roto-Rooter again.
Roto-Rooter is always very reliable. Robert (Bobby) was especially knowledgeable and professional and a pleasure to work with. I plan on requesting him for the next phase of our remodeling project.

Sump pump failed overnight during a rainstorm and Roto-Rooter was able to come out same day and get it replaced. Both techs were friendly and professional. The cost was a bit more than I would have liked but you pay a premium for quick and professional repairs.
Plumber was nice and fixed the leaking pipe. The actual work they did was great. Issue is their cost. They charge more than double other quotes. Lesson learned for future issues
Robert came within an hour of me calling and knew right away we needed a new sump pump. He had everything finished in under an hour. Very kind and professional!
Dave Mcendree and Mike were excellent. They did fast and efficient work at a great price. Would recommend Roto-Rooter along with Dave and Mike.

I never write reviews but I just had to so no one else has to stress about using this company (or maybe just this specific location). Yesterday I called about a blocked shower drain and toilet I needed looked at, they said they’ll have someone out to my house by 3:30. they called close to 3:30 to say they were running late, no big deal, but they would go on to call multiple more times that day to say they were behind but would have someone here as soon as they could. Around 7pm I got a call saying no one could make it today but would be there at 12-12:30 tomorrow! Even though I don’t have a working toilet, I was okay with waiting until tomorrow I know things happen. So I get a call at 12:50 today..”we’re a little behind today but someone is finishing up a job and will be to your address shortly” 3:45 rolls around so I call them, rightfully irritated I’ve now waited over 24 hours for them to show up, some man gets on the phone asking why I wanted to cancel my appointment, (is it really an appointment if no one ever shows up? Lol) I explain what has happened and say “it’s obvious no one is going to show up”. All he had to say was “oh well sorry that happened, I’ll let them know you’re cancelling”
So super unprofessional, irritating, and all around just confusing that no one could make it to my house within 24 hours? And there was someone supposedly on their way to my house multiple times?? I guess they just got lost.

Our store was going through change of ownership with the health department and the day the inspector was there the hot water would not work. He said he would be back the next day and if the water wouldn’t run hot then he would fail our store and make us go through the application process again. We called RotoRooter because it was already late in the day and they had 24 hour service. Bobby came and found that the heating element was bad. The next day he ordered the part but it wouldn’t be there until the following day, so I called the inspector and he agreed to postpone one more day. The following morning Bobby changed out the heating element and gave us the hot water we needed to pass the inspection. Thank you Bobby from RotoRooter!

Be careful if you use them they quoted me a price and have you sign to have work done and there is no copy for you. Read everything before signing. They kind of hurry it up along and what you sign is an estimate between one amount and another. Well it ends up well over they top number. Way over priced for work that was done.

Water heater problem required getting several parts and more than one visit. Technician arrived promptly each time and worked diligently to find necessary parts and complete the repair. This company is reliable.
I called six plumbing businesses that said they are 24/7 in their advertisement. They all said we are 24/7 to answer phone calls not to work. Then called MrRooter. They said they would be there within 2 hours only to call me back after the 2 hours to say they were sorry they wouldn’t be able to come. By this time it is after 7 pm. Called RotoRooter. They said they would have someone to fix the plumbing but it would be a few hours. Emmanuel showed up and fixed the problem. Not only was he professional, he was knowledgeable regarding plumbing and was friendly. I will call them for all my plumbing needs!!

I had a plumbing issue and Roto Rooter was extremely responsive and came out the same day. Bobby was the plumber who came out and he was excellent! Very professional, knowledgeable, excellent communication skills, and performed high quality work while keeping me informed during the entire process.
The only negative is the service was extremely expensive and a lot more than I had anticipated. The final total was almost $300 more than what I was told when he surveyed the situation.
The work was excellent as was the quality and communication. I will likely look for another plumbing company in the future only because of the cost.
My flood pump broke and i found out before it does any flood in my basement, I called this company, they sent two technicians, i told them how urgent it is, they asked me to go and buy new pump and they will replace it for $510 just replacement, it's expensive but I went ahead and bought new one, just to avoidany flood. I called him to comeback and fix it, the dispatch asked to wait, waited more than 5h, he didn't come and nobody showed, I called the company again they asked me to reschedule for the next day and I have to wait until the next day, I told them how urgent it is, how my basement would flood if rain falls, and it's bot right to let me down after waiting all that time, I could've called another company to come in and fix it...etc.
During the night, there was rain fall and my finished basement flooded, carpet damaged, smell...etc. it was nightmare.
I was very happy to find out about the pump before any flooding but because of this very unprofessional company, my basement got clooded anyway. I won't forgive them.

I'm very happy with their same day, on time service. Aaron, the plumber, was friendly and professional, and corrected our basement emergency quickly.
Dave was extremely professional and knowledgeable, he was able to fix our defective toilet very quickly. We’re very satisfied with the service and plan to call Roto Rooter for any future issues we encounter.
Broken downspout. The guys who came out to fix it were friendly, professional, and very thorough. I’d have those guys back for any future plumbing problems for sure.
The technicians were on time, communicated what they were doing and what next steps needed to occur to fix the problem. They arranged for a sewer inspection via camera and then came back next day themselves to do the work. They did a great job. I met with Service Tech Brandin and Excavation Field Supervisor Travis. Both thoroughly explained the situation and work to be performed, and were able to answer all of my questions. They were upfront about pricing, only charged for the work that could be completed today, and were able to promptly schedule everything else. So far, this company has provided much better service and more reasonable estimates than the companies I have worked with in the past. If I could give negative stars, I would! The price gouging in and of itself was absolutely ridiculous. Nicole, the plumber, was there from 10:15 to 11:30 and charged $400 for replacing a wax ring on the toilet, which is a $2 part! Not only did she not tell me the price beforehand, after we got off the phone and had paid, she sent me an invoice that said the work was not guaranteed due to the condition of the doors and house, which she also said nothing about during the phone conversation! She also failed to mention that the tenant's shower was clogged to the point that it was non-functioning and instead said some clogs in the system needed cleaned out within the next week or two and proceeded to ask if I'd like to schedule a technician to have that handled! So I was going to be charged MORE for someone else to do what a plumber is supposed to do? I called and spoke with two different managers who said they'd look into it and call me back and neither one did, so I had to call back again each time and I'm still waiting to be contacted back by the second Manager's Manager. I called Roto-Rooter in a pinch and it was a HUGE mistake!
Nicole, the technician who performed the repair was absolutely amazing. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to talk about the repair she performed. I intend to ask for her every time we need plumbing work done. I’ve never had a better experience with a contractor and I will recommend this contractor again and tell folks to ask for Nicole!!

I had a stopped up drain. I waited a full day for a competitive plumbing company to show up and at the end of the day they finally called only to tell me they couldn't be there until two days later. I told them to forget it and called Roto Rooter and they had someone out in a few hours.
The first tech could not get the drain cleared but he left a quote and scheduled a more experienced tech to come the following day.
The second tech arrived at the promised time the following morning and looked at the quote i had received and kind of freaked out as he said it was over 50% on the low side. The work to be performed was to clear the drain and to install a new toilet. To the company's credit, they honored the low quote. The tech got the drain flowing and the toilet installed. Everything good.
Two days later ( a Sunday morning) the drain starting to flow very slowly. I called them and they had a third tech out there within a couple of hours. He was able to clear the drain and actually removed a large hair clog that must have just been loosened and pushed further down the drain. There was no charge for the third call
Six days later and all is good.

Nathan was professional and friendly and when entering our home he immediately placed on his shoe coverings. Nathan explained all potential issues and the costs associated before performing the work. I would have given five stars, but because the company had me scheduled for the previous day, and never showed even after they called to let me know they were still coming. We sat around all day on our day off for nothing to finally receive a call at 8:30 PM that they were not coming and there was no courtesy discount offered for the inconvenience.
Mike was outstanding to deal with.
I know nothing about plumbing but he explained the situation so I could understand it.
Outside spigot burst and flooded basement. Dave came out quickly to repair it. He was great to work with! Very knowledgeable and efficient. Even gave me tips on the outdoor faucet and properly winterizing to prevent such issues in future. Would call again for any future needs!

Our main line was blocked and sewage was coming up in our basement. Roto Rooter sent someone out, assessed the problem and had it fixed and in the process of being cleaned up before any other company even returned our call. The technicians were all very friendly and knowledgeable. I know who my first call is going to be next time!

The cost of the repairs was crazy, plus they had to reschedule us for random reasons, so we were without running water for 12hours. We were initially scheduled for 6pm to 10pm on Saturday, and they called around 7pm to tell us they had to reschedule us to Sunday between 9am to 1pm and then showed up at 1:45pm. They were at our house for 20 mins, and it cost $517, and most of the cost was for labor, the pair only cost $40 according to the receipt, I'm sorry that is a lot for a 20 min job. You can't convince me that their flat hourly rate is what... $800 an hour? My husband and I felt powerless and had to pay for the repairs. My husband is a kind man, so he didn't want to argue the price. However, we are extremely upset about this pricing. Although we will never do business with them again, I would never discourage others from working with them; however, I recommend discussing pricing before scheduling the repairs.
Roto-Router, there is so much technology out there to allow you to video chat assessments with your customers, and you could even create a
video chat helper program to help the homeowner with their repairs for a fee. Please do better and be better for your customer.
Great and quick work done today. We didn’t know if we’d be able to get our broken pipe fixed on July 4th, but our repair was completed in about 3 hours. Very satisfied!

I currently live in one of the absolute worst apartment complexes ever, where it’s nothing but a constant battle to have anything repaired by my apartment’s “maintenance” team.
For a month now my bathroom sink has been backing up and clogging, with absolutely no assistance from my rental agency.
I decided to outreach to a real professional in hopes it would resolve my issues. Brandin did just that and did an amazing job. He explained everything to me in great detail and made sure to provide me tips on how to prevent this from happening again until I’m able to move into a better home. Because of him, my husband and I’s stress levels have improved tremendously, and I am now able to brush my teeth and wash my hands in my bathroom sink again. Brandin (and James) were prompt and professional and explained everything that would be taking place including the need to access the outdoor spikets via need to cut drywall. Faucets were replaced, new pipe placed and all work well now. EXCEPT...
**** 1 - they didnt bother to reconnect my outdoor hoses. Now I'm dealing with trying to get my current setups reconnected & so far to no avail
2 - Having not been familiar with plumbing prices the price seemed higher than had been suggested by a private contractor who recommended Roto Rooter.
3 - Left drywall and remnants of their work on the floor where they made cuts i.e. didn't clean up after themselves. Also they didn't clean up after themselves. Having two outdoor faucets replaced cost $900

Was scheduled on Saturday but couldn't get a plumber out until Sunday for sewage main line clog and backing up into basement. The plumber that did service was great, friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend Tom.
Chris B was awesome. Very thorough, spent a lot of time investigating my property to really get a good sense of what happened, gave great recommendations and I trusted his opinion. He replaced our sump pump. Excellent job, he was great.
On a Saturday morning my sister had a break in the pipe from the water main into the house so shutting off the main water valve in the house did nothing. The fire dept had to be called to shut off the water, and then roto rooter was called to make the repair and begin drying out the house. Thankfully she was home at the time and neighbors ran down with a shop vac to clean up water while waiting for the fire dept. Repair was made in a timely fashion and the initial damage assessment was made the same day. Fans and dehumidifiers were put in place the next day (all this over Memorial Day weekend) and readings taken daily until able to be removed on Thur. The quick action meant that needed repairs in the 9 mo old house are minimal thankfully. All the roto rooter employees we dealt with were extremely nice, professional and knowledgeable.
First of all the serviceman responded shortly after I called, so response time was very quick. He assessed the problem and explained my options for a solution. It was obvious that he knew what he was talking about and was experienced. Before suggesting an expensive repair he began taking a more detailed look at all the connections and discovered a very easy quick fix. The drain pipe was simply clogged with several rags that he removed from the pipe which immediately fixed the problem. Had he not investigated and just charged me for a more expensive service that wasn't needed I would have never known. I said it was so refreshing to have an honest repairman who was knowledgeable and experienced answer my call. Then to be even more thorough he checked the sump pump in the basement along with the gutter drains to make sure everything was working properly before he left. I was shocked how inexpensive this service was when I got the bill. Thank you!! You saved me a lot of money in foundation and basement repairs by fixing a perfectly good system that was just clogged at the end. I will not hesitate to call again if I need help that's for sure.

The technician arrived in my house as we requested. He called us half a hour printout his arrival. He patiently explained what he is going to perform for problems identification. He had solved one problem and explained the options we have for the unsold one..
I called and set up an appointment to have someone come out to my home to give me an estimate. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and very helpful in getting me scheduled. I was so blessed to have Skyler sent to my home he was amazing!! He explained to me what was going on at my home and explained everything he was going to do to help me. He assured me that he would take care of me and he did. Scheduling the service was brutal. I tried to be patient as it was Christmas Eve. I was given a 4 hour window, no call. I called and was told an hour. Hour later, no call. Called again, told an hour, hour later , no call. Finally 1 1/2 hours later, a guy shows up and didn’t have right equipment for job.
So I get on schedule for Christmas morning, 8-9 am. Call at 8 am, get confirmation that someone will be at house by 9am. At 8:50 I call, I am told plumber not getting to office until 9:30. Finally at 2:30 , 28 hours after I originally called, I get someone to do the job.
I will say that the gentleman that came out, Chris, was great. Very kind and honest and respectful.
But I will never use Roto Rooter again. Over-promising and under-delivering will never get repeat business from me.

Roto Rooter was at my house in less than 45 minutes. Their associate was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and identified the issue right away. He wore shoe coverings to protect my floors and was very careful when bringing in his equipment and using it. He resolved the problem and left my home in very good condition.

UPDATE - BEWARE!! The follow up after the water clean up and restoration process was nothing short of HORRIFIC! Billing for services not done, failing to return multiple calls from the State Farm claims adjuster and failure to return multiple calls from me. When checking on the bill that contained just a grand total ($4,300) with no line items, the Roto Rooter estimate writer suggested that I was being less than truthful when I told him I could clearly see my dried sewage laden hand prints on the washer and dryer that he claimed to be cleaned and sanitized. Really?! Finally I spoke to the new General Manager, Jim Brooks. After describing my terrible customer experience, Jim promised me that he would speak to his department manager and get back to me regarding my issues. Guess what? No call back from Jim. So I had to call Jim again. I left a message. Several days later Jim called and couldn't seem to recall our first discussion or the fact that he was going reach out to his manager and get back to me. : ( Jim went on to blame COVID for the horrible customer service and said that this was the 2nd company he had worked for during COVID and that the other company had issues, too. Jim's approach to customer service appears to be systemic within Roto Rooter of Columbus. Shortly after the sewage back up in my mother's house another family member had another plumbing back up problem. They chose NOT to use Roto Rooter based on our horrible experience. I would recommend that you call anyone BUT Roto Rooter.

On Christmas day of all days we had a sewer backup at my mother's home. Roto-Rooter was quite busy following the holiday, but fit us into their schedule. Chris, the technician, was very professional, careful in my mother's home, provided excellent service and made sure our problem was solved.
Had to have sump pump replaced. Was previously installed pump by Roto Rooter, still under manufacture warranty. I was charged for a new pump (almost $400!). Was left the old pump and told I could call the manufacturer (Zoller) and I can exchange for a new one. Why should I have to do that?!!! It was YOUR company that should have done it. What would I do with another new pump?!

I called to have someone at Roto-Rooter come look at my gas water heater because it wouldn’t stay lit.
They gave me an appointment window of 9:00am to 1:00pm. It took him until around 2:30 to arrive.
They told me that I would get a call 30 minutes before he would arrive and I did get a call at 12:30 but it was much later for the arrival. I overlook most of that because of how nice and professional the technician was when he arrived. Very happy with the work done.
Tom Smith, Jake Smith, and Steve Ferguson were awesome. They were super responsive and were more than willing to help in anyway they could. Incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Could not recommend these guys enough! So happy to have working plumbing again and in record time.

While having to call for plumbing problems is not the way to start the day, having John Gleason clear the drain was one of the best things we’ve done. I had a great experience with Roto Rooter. My technician John Gleason was very good at explaining what he was doing and did a great job cleaning up the area. I was pleasantly surprised when I called at 9am to get an appointment and someone was there by 10:30am. Overall a great experience.
Find anyone else. I got to a appointment time and 1hr after that time I got a rude phone call telling me another hour until someone would be here. So after 6 hours of waiting a young kid who knows nothing about my situation tells me he doesn't know how to even do my job. Then he tells me a supervisor would be out and I never received a phone call or nor did anyone show up. Find anyone else!!! Only one star cause I had to.
Hi - we had blockage in our septic lines in our house. 1st visit was fine but they said we need to see septic. They said they could come back on Saturday to finish job. I made call on Saturday saying I needed appointment today and they said dispatcher would contact me which they did not. I called back again an hour later and dispatcher said sorry we don't service my area on weekends. So much for 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Not very good communication within the office.

He thoroughly guided me through on what could be going on in my downspout drainage while cleaning. My sink backed up I thought it was garbage disposal. But it ended up being a clogged drain. And one of the pipes under my sink had not been connected. And my repairman stated that after unclogging drain I should be fine. But I took option “B” and had him replace the pipe as well. He was very courteous and easily explained everything to me. He also cleaned up and was very cautious of my home.
The garbage disposal was covered by our home warranty so we chose Roto-Rooter. John was very professional, prompt, and quick with the replacement. Very friendly and kind. Will keep him in mind for any future plumbing work.

However not even 2 months later and my lines were backed up again because they didn't send their snake completely down and clear out the problem fully, I ended up getting my own snake and clearing it out myself. So I'm out $300 for a job that wasn't complete. I definitely will not be using them again.

We had kitchen sink drainage problem. Water wouldn't go down the pipe and it overflowed to our dishwasher and then to the floor. The Roto Rooter was here this morning and it took him may be 20 minutes to unclog the pipe and drainage. He gave good advice too. He is friendly and professional. This was our first RotoRooter experience and we were very happy with it. They were able to come out same day. They called ahead as they said they would. The problem was fixed quickly. It was a little pricey, but worth it to get the problem fixed.
Replace a plumbing pipe connected to sump pump, not finished the work and put a cloth clamp to wall instead of metal. It’s shaking and making noise when sump pump runs. I am sure it will break out soon.

Totally bogus I will never call that phone number again they wanted to charge me $500 for something I repaired myself in a half hour with $30 worth of parts and I am not a plumber I have never done that kind of stuff before but it was that simple they wanted $430 for labor Flockhart I called Ben Franklin Plumbing they told me they would fix it for $160 so you tell me who you're going to call I will never call Roto-Rooter guaranteed

They came out on a Sunday evening to replace a shutoff valve that would not close completely to stop water from running out of the broken dishwasher feed.
