So, this is my second time with Roto-rooter. Three stars for their professional and clean work. Just this time, I feel alittle different. I didnot get to see the receipt that they charge me for the part. And for the the new valve that they install for me, it not go all the way in with the pipe. They said it is okay to put it like that. It is not a big deal. Instead they told me if there is something wrong with the valve, it hav warranty and call whoever to come and see. I hope it is true. Because when they took the old one off, it pretty tight that they have to use some strength to take it out. I paid the full cost cus I expect the work to be done well. And it is not cheap. It is very expensive. Almost 500 bucks for this morning. Probably would think twice if I want to use their service again.

They were available to come out on a Saturday afternoon within two hours and unclog our kitchen sink drain. The technician, Manny, was very courteous and professional. Got the job done quickly and it was great to have use of our kitchen sink for the rest of the weekend! Also, all of the Customer Service reps we spoke with throughout the day were extremely polite and helpful. Overall, a very satisfying experience. I would recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone who has a plumbing emergency and needs the issue resolved quickly at a fair price.

Highly overpriced, not on time, and poor follow upFirst off the service members were kind people and fixed the issue at hand and so nothing against them personally or skillfully.However, overpriced and not on time. I was told a window between 12 and 4. Received a call at 345 saying that they were coming and about a 1/2 hour out.Didn't show up until 6. 2 hours after my quoted window. All they did was fix an overflow gasket and a small leaking pipe and probably only took a half hour of labor time. Rest of time spent going to get parts so only involved with them for close to an hour total, including work and drive time. Charged over $800. Charged me double the labor price than quoted for an hour because they said 2 people were here so there was an increased charge. That is crazy and I didn't tell them to send two people. I just paid you over 600 dollars for about 1/2 hour labor which seems extremely high.I did not make a fuss with the plumbers as most likely a waste of time so waited to call and speak with management to dispute the charge. In the meantime contacted around and constantly informed that I was overpriced. Thus, called management to dispute the charge. Well management said they would look into the double charges and should contact me back in about a day.1 week goes by and no contact. So I contacted them back and they told me the manager is out at this time and to leave a message and will contact me back in about a day. Another 2 weeks has gone by and no contact.I will not have any desire of using them again or referring them. Plumbers did their job but pricing, management, and responsiveness was terrible.

I have used Roto-Rooter for over a decade now and they are always the best. They answer the phone fast, get a tech out in no time (40 minutes today!) and then the techs fix it always the first time. Very dependable. My plumber was Trevor and he was extremely helpful with my issues. He fixed them super fast, was super helpful and was lovely to talk with while he was here!! Keep up the stellar work!!

We are more than satisfied with the service we received from Roto-Rooter, and especially, Chad, the technician. It was close to dinner time when we noticed our kitchen sink was stopped up. To our surprise, Roto-Rooter said they would send someone out that evening. Chad was amazing. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and set to work on cleaning out the drain. He did not rush the job, but he got it done in good time. He made certain to to run enough water through the system to make certain it was working properly. He gave us a lot of tips on how to avoid the problem in the future. He was personable, efficient and knowledgeable. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Had downspout drains rooted, were told that they were “cleared”, next day had the pipes scoped and they could not get the scope but one foot in the pipes then recommended thousands upon thousands of dollars in fixes. Had to pay full price for services that weren’t even completed. Tried calling and speaking with managers, left messages without any response. Poor communication, zero empathy towards customers and no desire to make things right. Will never use again. Don’t use.

Pipe blockage between house and septic system remained from previous visit two weeks earlier.The dispatcher called periodically so we knew they were comi - we did not have a scheduled appointment, but emergency call in.The first tech who came could have repaired if he took an extra step, but my husband saw the problem when he came home and we called your company back. Your technician, Chad, came at dinner dinner time and left close to 10 pm. He was an excellent representative of your company and worker. He's a keeper!

It was an excellent experience from start to finish. I received a follow up call after I made the appointment online and my appointment was quickly confirmed. It was also an excellent experience with Roto Rooter’s Service Tech Ted. He diagnosed my issue quickly, let me know what needed to be completed for a total fix, provided an estimate and then went right to work to fix my broken sump pump. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions, he was quick and efficient with the repair, and he provided good follow up information once he was complete. Sump pump failed, called Roto Rooter since they originally installed it, technician came out reviewed it he issue called a manager who came out and said that everything was covered, they fixed the issue with the sump pump replaced the hot water tank and called the the clean up crew out, they disposed of the majority of the damaged items then cleaned and sanitized the basement came to my home daily to check the drying process and keep me updated on the process.Major issues like this they will be my first and only call.

WOW!! We were having a sewage issue in our building and the technicians that came to our rescue were INCREDIBLE!! Josh and Ryan were very professional and hard working. They were not able to snake the issue away. So another technician, Jerry, arrived a short time late and used a jet to clean out our clog. Jerry was AMAZING, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He was very careful not to flood our office and he cleared our issue away!! Then, to ensure our issue does not return anytime soon, Jerry requested a camera be put into our system to ensure the lines are clear. Ryan, one of the first technicians, returned later in the day and ensured our sewage lines are all clear. Each of the three Roto Rooter employees were courteous, knowledgeable, friendly!! I won't call any other plumbers in this town - only Roto Rooter from now on!!

Requested an urgent visit due to a frozen pipe. The dispatcher assured me that they had the staff to come out within a four hour window. When they didn't show, I called and was informed I had been rescheduled for the next day. Yet again, no call and no show, even after calling twice to confirm somebody would come out.I get it- during a winter storm and a holiday weekend short-staffing may occur. Don't provide false assurances that you can provide a service, only to cancel at the last minute. Twice.

Trevor went above and beyond resolving a clogged drain on Memorial Day caused by a BMW key fob that was inadvertently flushed down the toilet, and ended up causing a major clog. After attempting to release the clog through the toilet and the septic tank inlet, Trevor finally was able to clear it through a clean-out in the basement, and was very careful to not make a mess. Best of all, he was able to retrieve the key fob! Needed a sewage line cleared from a backup on a Saturday morning. I called 3 places, and then roto rooter said they could be at my place between 8-10 a.m. the morning of my emergency. Between 10 am and 2 p.m. I called twice to be informed 'someone would be at my home soon'...I had already cancelled the others BECAUSE roto rooter said they would be here by 10 a.m.Technician Aaron arrives, does a good job, gets it done. Advised me his supervisor will be by to run a camera through the sewage line. Okay.Tech leaves, no calls, no visits.Sunday, 4 text notifications saying my appointment is coming up. I assumed error ignore.Monday I get a barrage of calls. I call back, different Aaron tells me he wants to send someone out to run the camera through the sewage line. It's part of their guarantee. I say fine, Monday or Tuesday after 6, or Wednesday before 10 a.m.He says he'll try after six the first two days.No call, no shows. Wednesday morning I wait till 9:30, hear nothing, have stuff to do so i leave.9:42 a.m I get a call saying someone can be out around 10:30 a.m.No, I said between 8-10, he apologizes.I offer between 1-1:30 p.m.I get a call at 1:32 p.m.Nope, I don't have time for this.The service itself, what needed done, was good. Everything else, huge pain in the rear.I'd give 2 stars, but the technician gets a bonus for just getting it done.If having a camera run through the line is such a big deal for a guarantee, send one with the tech.Otherwise, my estimation is that it's a secondary person that shows up to sell me monthly service for discounted plumbing services, and the camera is the 'in'And I'm not opposed to someone attempting to sell that, but at least make it a convenience, not a scheduling fiasco and hassle.

The technician, Joshua, was kind and professional. He determined after much testing and investigation that a soft clog I had in my drain stack had resolved on its own. He even adjusted a slow draining sink for no charge. What an absolute gem of a professional. I had been using another ECOlogical Plumbers company for years, but found their upselling tactics aggressive. That was not the case with RR who was responsive, professional, and no pressure. I wish they would have just said someone couldn’t come out until much later instead of scheduling a very soon window and then ongoing rescheduling. Having said that, the plumber Nathan who came was excellent, immediately identifying the problem and getting to work to fix it. Ultimately, I was very satisfied with the service!

I was experiencing issues with my sump pump and had Roto-Rooter come out to look at it. The first technician said the check valve was faulty and replaced it. The issue I was experiencing was not resolved when he was replaced the valve. A field technician came out and said lines were clear and were blocked. Scheduled a master plumber and he came out the following day but the sump pump did not do what it has been doing for the last week. The master plumber said it appeared things were working but couldn’t confirm since the sump pump was not making the gurgling sounds or constantly running as it has been. Said to monitor and call back if it started. The next day the sump pump began to constantly recycle the water again so I called Roto-Rooter again and was luckily sent the same master plumber. Kudos to Chris B. for fixing my issue. Went above and beyond to make things right! Highly recommend Roto-Rooter and the services of Chris B.

On March 2, 2023 I requested service from Roto Rooter for my laundromat in Reynoldsburg Ohio. The technician arrived and told me the line needed to be hydro jetted and it would cost $1225. I asked him if he was going to clean the line all the way to the main. He said yes and that's what I expected to have done. He tried two drains and never got the hydro jet nozzle in more than 6ft. That did get the water flowing again, but he said due to scaling on the pipe he couldn't run the jet to the main....but he still charged me $1225 to hydro jet 12 ft of pipe. About an hours worth of work.I called the office to see if they would do anything and they told me that they charge by the job and not by the hour. I told them they didn't do the job they said they would doI didn't expect them to do it for free, but to charge full price for a job they only did 1/16 of isn't right.

I had a water back up at my home. I reached out to Roto-Rooter among other plumbers, but Roto-Rooter was the quickest to be able to get someone out there (so I thought). Dave P. showed up the next morning, but he was only there to take photos and measurements. I was told to sign here, here, and here. That the paperwork was saying they would be coming out to clear the clog and do the work. Dave said he would have his team out there either later that day or the next day to clear the clog and drain the water. This unfortunately was the start of the miscommunication. Roto-Rooter sent out folks on 3 separate occasions prior to Seth coming out. This equated to 3 days of my basement being flooded with water and 1.5 days of work missed. Dispatch sent Melinda, Shawn, Keith and a water management manager. Each time these folks told me they were not the right person to help and I'd be put back on the list. This is all with having the time of each of these folks being pushed back. For example, at 12:30pm, I was told my wind was between 12-4pm...they didn't show until closer to 7:45pm. No communication other than I'm sorry but he is coming. Also, I confirmed my name several times and they had my name listed at Layla and an email I’ve never had even after confirming and providing Dave with my email.Seth comes, clears the clog, and his supervisor confirmed the line is clear. I paid $716 for Seth's services. Almost 2 weeks later, I get a bill for over $13,600 for the removal of wood paneling, tile flooring, and taking a chair and two storage cabinets to the back of my house, and setting up dryers and dehumidifies (some of which weren't even powered on). Emily said that I was made aware of the estimate when I signed the paper work with Dave. That is a lie. Matter of fact, I asked Dave on numerous occasions where we stood with the estimate and was told we still don't have it yet. Absolutely unacceptable from the inconvenience, lack of communication, and complete disregard for customer service practices. After this terrible experience, I would not recommend them if all other plumbing companies left Columbus.

On a Sunday morning our sewer drain stopped up and water backed into our kitchen from the kitchen sink. Rotor Rooter was called and immediately responded. Unfortunately they could not repair on Sunday evening due to a broken router, but they were at our home first thing on Monday morning and immediately cleared our drains. I really like that they texted the name of our repairman and a time period for his arrival arrive. Additionally the repairman texted his arrival time when he was 30-45 minutes from us..

Consumer Beware!Working with this company is a nightmare. They damaged our ceiling grid during water mitigation repair of our floor. We have sent them estimates, general contractor phone numbers, and had our insurance adjuster contact the point person to get them to take the repair costs off of our bill. They refuse, by not calling us back, to correct our bill so that we can move on and get our basement repaired. From my experience, I would not go with this company.

Roto rooter came to my house and worked all day getting my drain unclogged, pulled out a pile of roots, had a supervisor with a camera come out after the first few runs didnt work, the camera operator let us know he wouldnt be able to get much more of the root ball, but your employee joshua worked hard for another couple hours even tried different attachments to get it clear and its draining! Our salesman Josh didn't exactly tell us the whole truth when it came time for our restoration. He assured me everything would be taken care once I gave him our homeowners policy number. Far from it, I am now chasing people down to get a balance due paid to them, instead of calling me back, I get letters stating I am 30 days past due. Called on a Sunday at 2:00 pm, with a clogged bathtub drain and about 10 inches of standing water in the tub. Joshua from Roto-Rooter shows up about 45 minutes after my call and successfully unclogs the tub, which is now draining lightning fast. All done by appx 3:30 pm. On a Sunday. For emergency type home repair, Joshua was probably the nicest worker I have ever met... great attitude, very polite and very efficient. Seth C. made the visit, and provided expert help by cleaning the corroded pipe heads and then advised me exactly how to fix the issue on my own to save us hundreds of dollars. This is the second time they've been out to flush our water pipes in 2 months. Very speedy and professional service. Brandin was terrific. We had a clogged kitchen sink drain, and he very patiently explained what he was planning to do. He worked for about 1 1/2 hours cleaning the drain and plumbing and identified a couple of problems including an air vent that was clogged. He cleaned that as well, and when he left all was working perfectly. Very professional. My only complaint was not knowing the cost, despite me asking on the phone when initiating the service call, until the service technician arrived.

Afternoon of Mar. 24, Ben came to our house to clean up the clogged main drain. He was very kind to and cooperative with us and helpful. He took out a bunch of big tree roots from the main drain, that stuff really surprised us! The drain has become through again. The worker refused to listen when he was asked to snake the pipe all the way to the main line. The worker was a little rude saying I've been doing this for 22 years. Our 30 day warranty was not honored when we called them to come back out because the sink is still clogging up and the water is draining slow. They were again asked to snake the pipe all the way to the main line and they refused to snake the pipe at all. I would NOT use them again nor will I recommend this company to anyone.

The technicians and the field supervisor that had to come out were amazing while in my home. All of the employees that I spoke with were helpful, considerate, and informative. They answered questions thoroughly and respectfully. They made valiant attempts at keeping their part of a very dirty job as clean as possible.Getting them TO my home was very difficult. I scheduled on Monday, the tech didn't arrive until Tuesday afternoon. He needed a field supervisor to come and gather more information. Luckily the supervisor was in the area and arrived quickly.I was told someone would be out the next day (Wednesday) to do more work in order to gather more info on the issue. Wednesday evening came, no one had come. I received a phone call at nearly 7pm saying they wouldn't be out until Friday.More information gathering up front might help get the right people out. The first tech they sent over didn't have enough info to know what he might be running into, so he was only here for 15 minutes.Partnering with companies or independent contractors in outlying areas would be helpful as well. I live an hour away from the nearest RR hub so dispatching someone for an emergency would be ridiculous.

I am very upset with Roto-Rooter. Our experience has been horrible. The cleanup process for a water leak has been nothing but lack of communication and more damage to our home than the original water damage. Crystal was our technician and didn’t communicate at all when she was coming, just called us when she was there although she knew we couldn’t stay at our home during the renovation. We had to drop everything and come to the home when she decided to show up which was a different time each day. She failed to show two days in a row, it was over 58 hours the home was left to heat up to a temperature of 120F and our remaining floors were ruined from the heat. Her teammates were not made aware of the open claim and no one showed up. My husband and I called over 12 times with no answer. There is still equipment in our home which was not picked up by the company. They haven’t provided documentation to our insurance. I am just so upset with the entire process. Lack of communication plagues this company.

My floor drain was flooding my laundry room I called roto rooter the lady I spoke to originally was very nice and professional asked for all the information and said we will get a technician out to you an hour later I get a call saying the technician was running late and I said ok no problem then the mitigation guy called and came out I called my insurance agent to let him know the situation and he instructed me just to get a quote from roto rooter, I asked the mitigation guy if he can get me a quote so I can give it to my insurance he then said no I'm not doing that then walked out. I get another call about 30 minutes after the mitigation guy left saying the technician was running late and won't make it out tonight. I was upset and disappointed, starting to think since I made the mitigation mad they didn't want to come out. Ridiculous never calling again!

Our basement flooded after heavy rain and due to a clog in the sewer line. We had contacted another plumbing company and were still waiting to hear from them over 24 hours later so I called Roto-Rooter. Within HOURS the plumber fixed the clog, a supervisor came to take pictures of the damage and explained the entire process for restoration, later another supervisor came to send a camera into the drain to recommend a solution to a problem, and lastly, the water restoration tech came and power washed, sprayed, disinfected, removed damaged items and placed industrial fans in the basement to dry it out. ALL IN ONE DAY! Every RR employee that came to work on our problem was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. We were amazed at the level of attention to our issues and the resolution that came so quickly and is going to continue until the problems are resolved. They were the best solution to a very serious household problem. 5 out of 5 stars to them! Thank you Roto-Rooter!

We had a laundry room pipe clog which caused water to back up in the utility sink when the washer drained. Then the sink stopped draining all together. The first company that came out said it required more than 50’ of cable line to find/unclog the blockage and they didn’t have a long enough line to do that. After calling a few places for urgent assistance with blocked toilet, Roto Rooter was able to come out to our home . Very nice tech who accessed the problem in a few seconds. But I was very disappointed with the service charge of $375 for a job that took less than 5 minutes to clear. Being a senior citizen and on a fixed income I felt they could have adjusted the service charge. They were familiar with the problem, knew exactly how to fix and had an inexpensive auger to do the job. For a minor problem that was absolutely a cinch I will never use the company for any service. I feel they take advantage of peoples inconveniences and make an exorbitant amount of profit. This service was in March 2022.

Sure no extra charge for service at any time…that’s because they never show up!! They Never showed up and I had to keep calling in to get updates.I call in at 7:00am to make an appointment to have a clogged drain looked at. They made myappointment for between 3:00 and 5:00.4:17pm - I miss a call and the message just tells me to call back the 800 number4:19pm - I call in and they tell me the technician was running behind…totally understandable!6:44pm I call in and after being on hold for several minutes, the lady tells me the technician is on a job but will call me back within 5 minutes.NO CALL7:56pm I call in again. This time my call is forwarded and keeps ringing. This time a gentleman answers and tells me to hold on while he radios the technician. He gets back on the phone and says he’ll be another hour or two. When I say it’ll be too late, he replied, “Well, sir. After 3pm, there’s only one technician in your area.” But he said it like I should just know that. Doesn’t really want to help. When I ask when the first appointment is for the following day he tells me between 8:00 and 12:00. But when I asked if I could be the very first appointment, he said that was. (But what if they don’t get there until 12? Does that mean the technician does t start until noon?)End rant - bottom line…no help. Didn’t even want to try and help. I sure hope they monitor those calls. The way it sounds, they don’t want anyone to call them. How dare anyone have a drain clog up!! As if we want to call…

Had a shower repaired. Next week water starts shooting out the shower, walls and basement. I call in and am told someone one would be out same day 9am-11am. No one comes out so I call back at 2pm and am told they’re still coming but behind. 5pm I call back and get told they’re finishing up job and will be on the way. Called back in around 545pm and was told the tech in area isn’t available and asked to reschedule. I said you can send anyone it doesn’t have to be same person as last time. Dispatcher says they’ll check and call me back with outcome. I get no call back and call in at 7:30pm, get the run around between Susan and then Ned. Ned was so rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. So if you have a dispatcher named Ned still please retrain on how to be kind and helpful. Told me hold on he’ll get me where I need to be so I can give them an ear full instead of him. I told him I didn’t want to give anyone an ear full I just wanted to know what’s going on as I’ve been calling all day for updates on my 9am-11am service call and it’s 730pm and no one is communicating after almost 12 hours and I’m still waiting. He says best he can do is send an email and they’ll call me. Wouldn’t give me a number for a direct person or management..nothing. I had to get off phone with him and find another number online. This guy Elwin (I believe) so kind, respectful and did his best to help me. Nonetheless he says the tech who was supposed to complete the call got off at 6pm as he thought I rescheduled. So after waiting all day, missing work because I thought someone was coming, keeping the water off and now having to be off tomorrow as well I’m highly upset and feel my business was not valued?

Be weary and get multiple quotes (at least 3 in my experience)This is going to be long, so to sum it up: fraudulent plumbing, some scare tactics and way overpriced. The plumbing issue could be ineptitude, not sure which is worse. I needed to get 2 additional quotes to confirm I was lied to and as a bonus also found another untrustworthy plumber, Apex Plumbing and there will be a review there too. That is the summary, if you want more, please read further.My hope is that this review stops any unsuspecting customer to be lead down the path that I almost went down and spend a lot of unnecessary money (or file a claim in my case). It is not intended, although it would be nice, to receive my money back, but is instead to ensure someone does not fall victim to this unworthy-of-4.5 stars company (at the point of posting this review), there are some many other options.To set the story, July 4th morning went into the basement and noticed sewage backup. I Googled and Roto Rooter came up, they did come out that day, the one bright spot. The most likely cause were roots in sewer line and the solution, cable the line. Now I showed the plumber the two stacks I have with a cleanout and there was also a floor cleanout, which is very clearly evident to an experienced plumber and probably should have been used in this situation, but it was not. The plumber chose the cast-iron clean out which is 100 years old and difficult to unscrew, so it was mangled to get open and then not fixed afterwards, I was supposed to go get a cap for it. Being a holiday fine, but there wasn’t one in the truck (this is important because the last and final quote I received fixed it for free). Anyways the cabling was done, another plumber came out to review the work and that is when I was told a had a collapsed line and it needed fixed immediately. Cool, I had insurance, I will trust them. However, the insurance adjuster’s estimate was $2k less than Roto ($5,900) so I got another quote.Next part of the story, Apex came out, said Roto is way overpriced and they will be so much less. Well, no, not true. First, they confirmed my line was not collapsed, just offset maybe because the camera was able to be pushed through the ‘collapse’, but the line still needed to be fixed. Now I do not know who to trust, but okay. Well the quote came in $300 over Roto. So after bad mouthing Roto, which is probably fair, Apex was still overpriced. Anyways, I got my additional quote to send to the insurance adjuster.Last part, insurance was slow, so I called another plumber, Atlas Butler, not knowing who to trust. They came to camera just to be sure. First, they said, ‘why did they not use this floor clean out and also not replace the cast iron cap they broke” and then they ran the line and identified the ‘collapse /shift’ as a root., the thing Roto was supposed to do. They suggested hydro jetting to clear out the remnants of roots left by Roto and clear out the main root blocking the line. Before I even agreed to any work, they had already gone out to the truck and fixed the broken cap. I agreed to hydro jetting as with each inspection the issue looked better, first collapse, then offset but waste was still able to get through, then a simple root. The jetting worked, the camera was able to easily navigate the line and it was clear. They also checked the cast iron and thought it still looked good whereas Roto and Apex said it probably needed fixed at some point in the near future.Now I have called Roto Rooter’s GM to try to talk to them’ I wanted to give them a chance to at least have my review say, ‘at least I got my initial money back’, but my call has not been returned. Now, this could just be a situation where ‘it’s an art, not a science’ in identifying a problem, but it doesn’t feel that way, it appeared intentional and was honestly felonious with a fraudulent insurance claim. Do not go with Roto Rooter or Apex for that matter and try to get quotes because surprisingly some people want the commission or are really not good at their job.

The downspout pipe to the street was clearly clogged. We called the company and they promptly sent a very courteous technician that probed the pipe with a snake and determined that it was clogged, which we already knew. They charged me $175 under the premise that another technician would come and use a camera to determine the precise location of the obstruction. The second technician came next day and used the camera to tell us that there was an obstruction (and showed me some roots in the pipe) but the exact position of the obstruction or a solution to my problem was not provided. I sure appreciate everything this company did for us this morning. Our sewer was plugged. We tried all day yesterday to get it cleaned out but failed. So this morning I called in the professionals. I can't thank them enough for everything they did for us. I called at approximately 7:45 am. By 8:01am I had a call back from the company telling me that I would have somebody here within 30 to 40 minutes. Not exactly sure how long it took but John was here in a flash. This morning a friend and I attempted to replace a stem valve on a my shower. We could not remove the valve. We made several trys to remove valve. After a couple of hours we tried to put everything back together. The old valve could not maintain water pressure. I contacted Roto Rooter and explained my emergency. I had no water in my house. A technician was dispatched to my house. He assessed the damage to my shower faucet. He gave me a quote on parts and labor. I received superior work. He was very understanding to my situation. I expressed my concerns however they ended up coming out after the originally time frame. Technicians were nice and friendly, however the work they provided was expensive and did not leave us feeling great about the final product. Our toilet flange was sitting up high so we called to have them lower it. They originally told us they would have to cut the some pipes and make some adjustment so our toilet didn’t rock and forth.Turns out they did not do that/didn’t have to do that, unclear. And just put in a new wax seal which we had already done. They said it was flush with the floor by doing this. They bought ~$33 worth of parts and called it fixed. After a $778 bill they told us the floor was not level so that’s why it now rests on the back of the toilet but there is a 1inch gap at the front of the toilet.All this and there was caulking all over the toilet and floor that we had to use our finger nails and razor blades to remove. Overall not impressed at the cost vs what we got out of this “repair”.Techs were awesome though and did give opinions on other plumbing jobs we are looking to have done.

Tech said pricing was based on a repair without tool policy. $127 per item without tool/snake… $415 per item with tool… I won’t use them as a first option in the future and will not recommend them to family or friends… TOO EXPENSIVE

The technician did a good job. He was polite set an expectation for his work and delivery based off of what he stated. There was a slight mess left but nothing too bad. My concern with the service comes from the timeliness. I initially scheduled my appointment the day prior for the 8am - 10am window. I did not recieve a call and followed up at 10:05am when I spoke to the representative they informed me that I never scheduled for that window of time even though I had an email confirmation because I scheduled online. The rep said I was scheduled for 11- 1pm. The tech did not show up until aprox 2pm. He completed his work which took about 2hrs doing a main line correction which cost about $700 total. I was satisfied with the work but I do feel like the timeliness was an issue I had to reschedule my day around the service that I wasnt sure would ever come. I would recommend roto rooter but I would also caution you to be aware of the service timeliness established by the website and customer service reps

Ask for very detailed estimates and very detailed invoices. If not, your vague about double estimate will be much higher than the estimate.Also, if you plan to use the financing option, be sure to verify that the employee sent to your house knows how to process it. Woody was the consummate professional and I could not recommend him enough. BUT... the price of labor is extortionist and I'll think twice about having Roto-Rooter fix anything of mine again for that reason. More than $480 for less than an hour of labor? Eco Plumber and others charge more reasonable rates, so reconsider whether greed is worth losing business owing to inflated prices. With that said, it's difficult to imagine a better specialist then Woody--punctual, businesslike, and impressively efficient. I hope you pay him enough. You certainly charge enough!

Appointment was scheduled for between 8a-10a. Arrived at 11:45a. Had a clogged toilet - all toilet paper - kids - but hadn’t drained in 2 days. Done within 30 min. Lost half a star for timing and 2.5 stars for price (almost $300 for 30 min work). Plumber was professional and courteous so gained a star back.Update: contacted customer service per request and GM contacted me. Offered nothing in the way of service recovery beyond a polite apology (even though my main complaint was price and they currently have $75 off of service posted on their website that I did not initially use). GM stated price is a flat rate whether it takes 30 min or 3 hrs to complete. GM was polite and empathetic but seemed not to have authority to resolve my concern.Would NOT recommend Roto-Rooter unless you have an emergency and/or are willing to pay a steep price.

The last thing we wanted to deal with was a clogged main line and backed up sewage in our basement the night before a huge snow storm but we can’t control these types of disasters. Here is the itemized break down of my services. $5,695.00Equipment-$560.00Permit-$255.00Overhead-$ 792.50Parts and labor $4,087.50hire local, as you can see they brought the best equipment, a $300.00 shovel and dewalt drill! ( sarcasm ) here is the end result a 5,000 clean out installed. where most other local plumbers will do it for $1,000.00 Just shop around , Roto rooter vicimized me in my situation. dont do what i did . call local plumbersas you can see they reached out and tried to fix it by taking $1,000.00 off- which makes it only a $4,965.00 plastic pipe with less than 2 hours of labor- and 100$ in parts. SHOP LOCAL! these guys dont care about people , just a check.

If you value your time and prefer not to wait all day for a plumber who won't show up, do not use this company. I set up a service appointment with Roto-Rooter and they gave me a four hour window from 10:30am to 2:30pm. I was told I would receive a call 30 minutes before the technician arrived. On the day of my appointment my four hour window came and went with no call from the technician. I called the office around 2:35pm to see if I could get an estimated time of arrival, and all I received was a vague response. I was told that they were running a little behind and I would receive a call when the technician was on the way. Three hours later, at 5:30 pm, a voicemail appeared on my phone. My phone never rang and the call never registered on my call log. Somehow, the technician went straight to my voicemail and left a message saying I needed to call the 1-800 number to reschedule. I called the 1-800 number and asked why I had to reschedule since I had been waiting all day. The person working in the office did not answer my question, but forwarded me to the technician instead. I explained to the technician that I waited all day for someone to show up and I wanted to know why I had to reschedule. He told me in a very rude and dismissive tone that he doesn't make the schedule. I reluctantly rescheduled the appointment, but cancelled it the next day because I prefer not to give my hard earned money to a business that doesn't value it's customers. At no time did I receive an apology from the office or the technician for the inconvenience. I understand some businesses have staffing shortages, and some service calls take longer than others, but being courteous to your customers and keeping them informed and updated can go a long way. Also, it doesn't seem like Roto-Rooter is really a 24-hour operation like they advertise, because if they truly were, I should not have been told to reschedule. Luckily I called another company called Mr. Rooter and they came out within the two hour window they gave me, and did an excellent job repairing my plumbing issues.

Called to clear backed up toilet. Went in through shower drain. Apparently punctured pipe as now water seeping through ceiling below. Also “volunteered” to check toilet and scared the porcelain. Also decided to check slow draining sink which I did not ask for. Broke sink drain off inside wall. Overcharged for initial drain cleaning. $400 ! Will cost over $1,000 to repair the damage they did. I had to turn water off to whole house to stop leak, but they kept me informed of where the tech was before hand and the technician was very professional and moved quickly when he was here. It seemed expensive, but worth it for a job done right and on such short notice.I should note I called several other local businesses first, in the afternoon, and even places that advertised being open 24/7 couldn't see me until Sunday morning or even Monday.

The plumber was personable, and did a good job snaking out the main drain line. My only issue is the company charging a flat rate of $500 to snake out a drain. I understand your in business to make money. But seriously $500..My appointment was for the previous evening between 8p and 12p. They called after 11p to tell me they couldn't make it and would have to come out the next day. Forget the fact that you advertise 24/7 service. I was without the ability to use any water in the house for almost 24 hours. Then you get rolled for $500 to clear a drain. The simplest repair a plumber can do. I'm a tradesman, I understand labor charges. I also understand doing right by a customer. The plumber 5 stars, the company 2 stars.

Thank you Roto Rooter for making the best of a horrible situation for us. We had no idea where to start when we woke up and found a sewage back up in the basement. In July of 2020, we had Roto-Rooter come out and clear our sewer drain. The tech did his job and told us we had a 1 year warranty if we needed them to come back out. He had been here for a couple of hours. The very next day, we had another tech out here because the drain ended up still being clogged. Fast forward to last week when we had to call to have them come out AGAIN due to water back up from the drain. When I mentioned the 1 year warranty on the drain repair, she said the drain warranty’s are only 6 months, she then looked at our account and said “ah, I see” then proceeded to schedule the appointment without saying anything else. When the tech arrived today, he quoted us over $500 but so graciously gave us $75 off (which is a promotion they always run), however we were expecting this to still be under warranty from the last visit given the conversation with the rep on the phone. We paid $428 for the service today and after going downstairs to test the water draining from running a load of laundry, we found BLOOD all over the wall! (I noticed a cut on his arm while he was taking his equipment back to his vehicle). We are so frustrated and will call another company the next time.

Finally service tech showed up and gave me a quote (over $500 to install a basic disposal unit that I had purchased to replace a leaking unit) He was in and out in less than 45 minutes for this fee. I had a pipe break on my water heater. The plumber came and fixed pipe. He couldn’t get pilot to light. Said it was just wet needed to dry out. I waited until the next day. It still wouldn’t light. I called for him to come back out. Finally the pilot lit. I was charged $490 for the repair and another $200 to come back and light pilot. I feel like I was over charged. He should have come back to finish the job. I shouldn’t have been charged twice. I’m very dissatisfied with your company.

Mr. John Gleason, Service Technician #1482 arrived within the 1 hour service window I was given (I waited a total of only 30 minutes) and got to work immediately. We set up an appointment with Roto-Rooter online, so it was painless. Then the technician was very professional, took a look, and gave us our options. He then even was so good as to talk to the Home Warranty group we are using (on the phone while still in our home), and knew just how to answer all their questions. I want to say the first two experiences I had with them were excellent. The came in and diagnosed the problem correctly and gave a fair price. This last visit was ridiculous. We called, the person showed up, and diagnosed a repair that wasn't needed. I told him what needed to be done, then he gave me an estimate for the job. So far the work he did is holding, however when he was done, doubled the estimate price. Completely ridiculous. I called to talk with the general manager and left a voicemail. No response. I would advise to read all the reviews before making a decision.

We live in an 80 yr old home and a section of sewer had become damaged and badly infiltrated by roots. The Roto-Rooter supervisor scheduled an excavation team to come out and repair the damage after everything was assessed. Heath and his team were out within a few days and they did an excellent job. The work is expensive but when you see what these guys have to do you appreciate the cost. They talked me through everything and focused on the best result. before they filled the dirt back into the 10ft deep hole, roto-rooter came back out with the jetter and camera and made sure the entire system was perfect out to the city sewer. The excavation team filled the hole back in and left a clean out. They left the site looking almost the same way they found it. Great service. Zero complaints.

In my opinion I feel that the service was very good considering it was done the next day as 4 of sewer water sat in my basement floor overnight. Now all of happen at 11:30pm. Your Ad says you offer 24/7 emergency service and that's what I wanted. I was told to wait 30 minutes up to 1 hour and someone would get back to me. Well they called me back saying we can't get anyone to answer their phone. I had to wait for them to come to my home in the morning around 8:30am as water still coming into my basement due to a clog drain line....about 5 now. Well they came and unclog my drain which was very good. All I want to know is why they advertise emergency service if they can't get ahold of anyone to come do the job. I could go on and on but what for. I will never use the 24/7 service with this company again nor recommend it to anyone.

Plumber was on time. I agreed to the price and repair. Took multiple trips to the hardware store since no parts on hand. While he was at the store another person from Roto Rooter shows up about “water damage”. I said there was none and I didn’t ask for any water damage assessment. Plumber came back and finished repairing. Material was left everywhere in my bathroom and a half caulk job was done on the drain. The pipe installed was twisted so I had to straighten it myself so it would stop leaking. I decided to wash the towels from the room to find out he had used one of them to wipe up debris and didn’t tell me. This left my washer with debris in it as well as all my other clothes. For the price I paid, he should have cleaned up at least a little bit and told me he used one of my towels for clean up. Not a good experience at all.

Not only did he make sure of his surroundings and checked perimeters and estimated length of pipe before running his drain snake but he made sure I understood what was taking place. The Roto Rooter team we had at our house provided excellent service clearing out roots from our pipe to the city sewer. This was a big job that took over 2 full days. They were courteous and professional and did not quit until the job was done. I couldn't be more happy with their service!

This is my first time having to call a plumbing service to my house and I’m glad I chose Roto-Rooter. I had a shower cartridge that was seized and couldn’t be pulled out. The Technicians arrived on time, we’re courteous and even put on boot covers before entering my home...much appreciated! They were very knowledgeable about my plumbing issue and I felt very confident in their ability to make the repairs. They even took the time to educate me on why this happened and a few other plumbing tricks. Great experience and I would definitely call Roto-Rooter again for any future plumbing needs.

Guy came out had equipment issue. Need to comeback the next day. (That's fine.) However, a different man showed up, went to look at the problem and stated the same guy should came. He said he is going to make a phone call. The next thing I know, he got in his truck and left. Never said a word. I than had to call several times. I told them to send me 2 plumbers and was not happy with the way the company do business. About 30 minutes later 2 plumbers finally showed up. I really appreciate the 2 men. They understood and apologize. They were really good, but to bad the overall experience was horrible.

Our washer broke down and poured water all over our second floor laundry. Our insurance company recommended Roto Rooter as a preferred vendor. They came out the very next day and a rechmicuan was great giving us the play by play on what will be taking place. After he left the service went down hill. I was told a plumber would come out and inspect the plumbing to ensure there were no other leaks. I took time off from work and cancelled meetings. Around five I received a call the plumber would not be coming and that I was rescheduled for the afternoon. I took the afternoon off and around four I get a call if I could reschedule and I said no cause we could not start the mitigation until the plumber signed off there was no other issues. The gentleman said ok and that a dispatcher would call me to advise when the plumber would be out. Several hours went by and by eight that evening I did never heard from the dispatcher or anyone from the company. I contacted the tech who originally helped me and he said that they could get a plumber out if I wanted but it was already 830 at night. The tech said his manager would call me in the morning. I never heard from the manager in the morning. I spoke to the tech and advised that we needed this remedied and he got the mitigation team out to start the clean up and a plumber eventually showed up. Still no call from the manager. I was told the manager was in a meeting. I was then told I could call him after three. I informed the tech if the manager cares about his customers he would call them. The manager never called. This will be the only time I use this company. Very disappointed in a company that is so well know.

I had the advertised $75 off coupon for clearing a drain. So I noticed that our down-spouts were having some reduced drainage on a rainy day the end of November. I called and asked about the snaking of the downspout. They did this service and told me they think this should be video scoped. I told them I didn't want this at this time. The plumbing technician told me I had to do this as this was combined with my snaking. I was charged > $500 dollars before the $75 dollar coupon.I called the manager immediately after the plumbing technician left and complained regarding feeling pressured into a combined service I didn't need. He apologized and said he would issue a refund and I should have this in 10 days.I called after 2 weeks, and was told it would be processed and I should see in in the mail.Now 1 month following the service I have to call 2 more times to get an update. Was told this was being processed today and should get next week.So a couple of things, poor communication and sales. Also, price of originally services I feel is overpriced without a coupon. $500 dollars for snaking 1 drain and video scope I feel is too much. Also when doing the service, he had myself and my husband assist him. Which to me is extremely unprofessional for the degree in which the service cost. Then after being told I would receive a refund in 10 days, which turns to > 30 days is unacceptable.I personally, would not recommend and I will never use this company for other plumbing services.

I had a clogged main drain. They showed up and had it unclogged with the use of an electric auger and was gone in 1 hour. They did no cleanup and wanted an extra fee for this. My bill of which they wouldn’t tell me until they arrived was over $700. I thought this was very excessive. I wish I could make $700 an hour!

We were not sure where the water leak was. Josh took pictures of everything to send to our insurance. Tested floors and walls for moisture. Showed me how to submit a claim ..but they charged me $300.00 to fix a washer that took 5 minutes and $300.00 to cut a hole in the bathroom ceiling that also only took a few minutes...then they waited 3 days before coming back to start drying the plaster and floors. I got several phone calls from Mathew telling me he was on his way and then he didn't come. He left the fans which were way to noisy...but didn't pull up the flooring so the sub floors could dry. He pulled all the baseboards and trim from around the doors off...?? not sure if this was necessary. My biggest concern is that they would not listen to us or any suggestions that we made. NO we will not refer you to others. TERRIBLE JOB

Set up a service call 5 days in advance. I had to adjust my work schedule to be at home. I get the text that the plumber was on his way then an hour later I get a call wanting to verify my address. When I verify they now tell me they do not service my area. All of this because the zip code was entered incorrectly by an employee. What did I get for my trouble? A simple apology. They made no effort to make it right and didn't even bother to direct me to someone who does service this area. So I guess I will find another plumber and definitely never recommend this company to anyone.

I’m only leaving a review because of the technician Cris B who helped us. He was fantastic and worked super hard from 6pm until 11pm to clear our drain, it was super clogged. He refused to quit until it was fixed and was so professional and helpful the whole time. He did a great job cleaning up after himself and wiped down and disinfected everything very carefully. If I ever need sewer help again, I will call Roto-rooter just to have Chris work on the pipes. The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars is because they sent a salesman out first who tried to convince us to file an insurance claim before a plumber was able to diagnose the problem.

Brian 3403 showed up at the expected time, honored my home by wearing his shoe covers and entering with tools he needed to do the job. I purchased my sink faucet and he cleaned the area thoroughly before and after installation, which took about 30 minutes total. I appreciated his conversation during the job. Very likable person. We are so incredibly thankful and grateful for Roto Rooter and, more specifically, Woody! He came out to look at our broken sump pump that we JUST got installed with another RR tech two months ago. He did a very thorough job and he found the issue. To top it off, we weren’t charged!! We found water damage in our basement due to a sump pump malfunction. I called Roto Rooter on a Saturday and within an hour, Brian and Quan arrived, inspected the situation and explained what needed to be done. They installed a new sump pump and called their mold inspector colleague to come out to check for mold. Josh, from the mold inspection side of the company checked for mold, called our insurance company to start a claim and explained the next steps we would need to take to handle the water/mold damage. All three representatives of this company were professional, knowledgeable and helpful in taking care of our situation. We usually have great service. This time however, our window time was 8am-12pm and no one called or showed up until after 3:00pm!! I had to call and check regarding the 3 hour lateness! We waited all day when we could have gotten other things done. I feel we should have been somewhat compensated or discounted. Instead we paid over $500. This company although professional is a complete rip off. They quoted me $1000-$3000 (big gap in price) for a water clean up in my basement which is unfinished only there for two days and only about 36 square feet. Not large area at all. Afterwards billed me for almost $4,000! Why even quote me and why so much for such a small area. I watched his them clean it spray and put down fans in less than 30 mins Shop around I wish i did. Oh and they make you sign a no cancel contract so I couldn’t back out once my insurance company told me never to use them.

The plumber was ok, although didn't wear booties or any sanitation, had to wash carpet after he left, and he missed what another plumber saw in one second later as to what was leaking under the sink. Dealing with dispatch to finally get a plumber was a nightmare. I took two days off work to finally have one show up, you call into a 1-800 number that transfers you all over and ultimately tells you the dispatcher is on the phone. They advertise 24/7 plumbing but wouldn’t have anyone come out after 4 when they missed their own 12-4 window. I asked about this 24/7 service and they said when they are overbooked they don’t send someone - they should not advertise services they can’t deliver. Prices are over inflated as well as someone else said on here - charging $459 labor for an hour work on a 197.00 garbage disposal is way too expensive for a simple remove and install. Their labor costs are robbery.

It cost $600 to have a spigot put in, that had busted 2 winters ago. The plumber that worked on it before to stop the leak said it would only be $125! I don't think I called the same company. The only reason I'm giving 2 starts instead of 1 is because the woman I spoke with through the customer service number was wonderful. The techs themselves were frustrating, late, and blatantly lied to us about multiple things.The first day they were supposed to come, they didn't. No one called until after 6pm to let us know that they would be coming the next day between noon-1pm because their van broke down. I believed it, but as we continued service with them, I don't any more. The next day came and noon-1pm came and went. They didn't show up until 430pm and were here well past 6pm. The only reason they showed up when they did is because we called the person who had informed us of their van breakdown directly and that seemed to get them there to finally do the work.Fast forward to the day they were supposed to get the equipment out of the house. They had originally stated they would be there between 4-5pm. We were coming home from out of town and weren't going to be home by then, so they were able to push it to 6-7pm. This time frame came and went, just as the previous ones did, with no information from the technician. Around 730pm, a RotoRooter van pulled into our neighbor's driveway and turned around to leave without any indication of what was going on. Around 8pm, we called the same phone number and the technician said he had run out of gas so he was waiting for someone to come help him and he would be here soon. They weren't here by 9pm so I called customer service to figure out what the heck was happening. Carla was incredibly helpful and was able to get in touch with the manager of the crew that was supposed to be coming to take away the equipment. Mind you, we had two separate leaks with major water damage to our subfloor so our bedroom and entire basement were unusable and it was hot and humid in the house, given that there were massive fans and humidifiers working to repair the water damage. After speaking with Carla, she informed me that she would call back within 10 minutes of getting an update from the manager. Before she could call back, the technician was here and began to take out the equipment. He doubled down about running out of gas before getting here, even though we'd seen him turn around next door, so we knew that wasn't true. His phone was about to die and when my husband went in to check on how the removal was going, he was sitting on our bathroom floor with it plugged in, not removing equipment, but just waiting for the phone to charge. All of the equipment was finally out of the house around 1030pm and then he was here for another half an hour completing paperwork with the phone plugged into a charger that we had. There was consistent complaints about how horrible the programming was for the application they had to use and constant blame on something else being the problem.Overall, I would never recommend RotoRooter's services to anyone in need of plumbing or water damage repair needs. We had another set of plumbers come out to fix the actual damage and they were in and out in less time than it took to even get RotoRooter here to start setting up the equipment. Do not use them, they are a waste of time, energy, and money.

My initial service call window was from 10:15-12:15 and my plumber arrived at 2:45. I don’t know what prices normally are but I was quoted almost 1k for toilet hook up, flange replacement and he had to add a extension piece out of the wall. The guy who came out to my home was great, professional however prices seemed high and at the end of the day I still have a toilet that wasn’t working and I’m out close to 1k.

Summary: I scheduled a service online to replace a failed sump pump.Pro's: Friendly knowledgeable technician who got the job done.Con's: I didn't receive an email confirmation 1 hour after scheduling my service online as was indicated. I did get a phone call 2 hours after scheduling the service stating that the technician would not be able to make my scheduled time slot and they would call when they were able to show up. The cost breakdown was not listed on the bill. I knew the price going into the service, but I'm struggling to see how $532 in labor is justified for less than an hour of work. The technician did not re-seal the lid to my sump and did not scrape away the old sealant. I now have to do that. Finally, the technician left his coat at my house. He called me to pick it up the next day.

Our tech was great, Aaron Harast. He was polite and informative and very helpful. Our call took place on the weekend so it took him awhile to get to us but he diagnosed our issue quickly and resolved everything in a timely manner. I'm only giving 4 stars for Roto Rooter as they sent a salesman out first to access the damage and he claimed it was going to cost us $5000 to clean up the backed up drain and told us they might need to excavate our basement floor. We have a concrete, unfinished basement. We cleaned up the mess and bleached the basement. It didn't cost $5000. We had a blocked drain, no damage. Moral of the story - DON'T USE FLUSHABLE WIPES!

They came to my house for a clogged toliet, well the clean up arrived first even after calling and mentioning we didn't really think we needed clean up. Plumber came hours after the time they were suppose to and said he wasn't even a certified plumber and tried to fix the issue. Was not resolved and had to pay almost 200 for a camera to say it would cost 8200 to MAYBE fix the issue. It's been over 2 weeks now and clean up has not came back for their equipment after I've called twice. Its all plugged into my oven outlet, so this mom of 5 has had to make dinners on a griddle.This is the worse service I've ever had and will NEVER come back. No one in that company is on the same page! I got conflicting statements from everyone! There is so much more I can't even begin to explain it all. BEWARE.

Earlier today I found that my kitchen drain was backing up. Of course I wanted to take care of it right away. I called two other places before contacting Roto-Rooter. The first did not return my call in a reasonable amount of time and the second was too busy. Roto-Rooter was my third call and they were able to help me. It was all done very professionally. I was very impressed with the way my call was handled. They even sent an email to verify what had been set up for me. The technician, Aaron, seemed very knowledgeable and was also very professional. He took care of the problem quickly and efficiently. The cost was a little higher than I would have liked but I was happy for the problem to be taken care of. I guess it was worth it for my peace of mind.I would recommend this company to anyone who needs to have drain work done....or any other plumbing needs.

I called around 1pm on a Sunday and was advised there was a 4 hour window of time as to when the plumber would show up. Josh called 30 minutes later and advised he would be there in 10 minutes. Josh was very polite and professional. He listened to my concerns and immediately began to assess the situation. He provided two options to remedy the clog. We had two technicians come out - the first one was sent completely unprepared for what we were requesting, and we had to wait an entire work day in hours for the next one (which is why I am only giving 4 stars), but when Joshua came out, he was absolutely fabulous. He explained everything well, worked quickly and efficiently, and was super nice. Fantastic service. I'm handy enough to do home maintenance and some improvement. When I went to pickup and reset a toilet, I had to replace the flange ring, the seal, and add a spacer to it. After a week, my bathroom still smelled like sewer, so I called Roto-Rooter and they had a crew out that day. These gentlemen were very friendly and polite, straightforward, and very knowledgeable. They picked up the toilet, and politely told me what I had done right and what I had done wrong, fixed everything to how it should be, and were very friendly the whole time.They did a great job and my bathroom immediately smelled clean and fine when they left. I feel much better having called them!

The technician and company responded quickly to our service call about our sump pump needing repaired. The pump was making a loud and unusual noise that we knew was not normal, we called roto-rooter. The tech was quick to our home within 3 hours of calling. He was nice and polite.He was quick to assess our sump pump and this is where the problem arose. He took one look ( literally stuck his head down on the pump pit and said “you’ll need a new pump” without really assessing the pump or looking for a fix. After argument and discussion of the problem. He still insisted the pump needed replacing without ever taking the sump pump apart to assess it. He quoted us over 600$ for a new pump and labor (250$ parts and 350+ for labor!! Yikes). We accepted on the fact that the service call was 150$ regardless and the pump was original to the home( built in the 90s).The tech did excellent work and made sure everything ran properly and was secure. However, make sure you ask questions regarding possible fixes instead of new installation.Very good except for the quick call to replace instead of fixing the existing pump.

Our technician, Aaron, was super cool. He made the experience personable and had great customer service skills. Even though the price was very high compared to competitors, Aaron made it worth it. He was clean, friendly and quick. He made sure to clean up after himself upstairs and downstairs and he also fixed a faucet that wasn’t working even though that wasn’t even included in the scope of work for no additional charge (I bought a new faucet and now I can return it, that saved me $40). Our sump pump gave out on Mother's Day, flooding our finished basement. Roto-Rooter had someone at our house in an hour to assess the situation. Within two hours, a new sump pump was installed, damage was assessed to begin the insurance process, clean up started, and fans were installed to begin the drying process. Super Fast, here in under an hour. Couldn't give ballpark estimate over phone to do simple snake of kitchen drain. Quoted $389 to snake a drain that had easy access and likely would have taken 15 minutes and no parts. I'll keep looking. Had a coupon online for $75 off that might have worked but didn't get that far. Wished them a good day. Maybe that is what things cost now?

We had a clogged toilet that was over flowing into our ground floor living space, we called and were told that they could send someone out to do a no obligation quote and at first I was anxious and skeptical. ‘Yeah right I’ve heard that before... no obligation no hassles’ but once our tech got here, Brian Tag, he located our problem and even did some preliminary work as part of the no obligation quote. He told us the price and when we decided to go with them he got right to work. They were $100 cheaper than 2 other places and they really were kind and professional. It’s a base fee of $325 to snake the main drain from your house out 110ft which usually gets you to the city pipes and that’s great because one place we called charged $325 per hr to do that same thing. And we did opt for a camera to get snaked along our pipes as well which was only $120. Seems like a lot, but a second place was going to charge $220 for the camera. At rotorooter only the supervisors can use the camera so when he got to the house; John, he was professional as well. He did have to take a call for another customer and he was very kind to that customer too. They were respectful by wearing foot covers and with the snow and mud it was greatly appreciated. I will use them again and I will always request Brian Tag as my tech. He and John made a bad day into a great day, thank you so much!!!

We noticed a water spot and soft drywall on the ceiling below the master shower on a Sunday morning. We quickly thought to ourselves, who can we call on a Sunday that can come immediately to identify and remedy the issue. Based on a previous experience with Rotor Rooter, I remembered they are available 24/7 and don't charge a higher rate for evenings and weekends. We gave them a call and a short while later Brian our service technician was out to review the issue. I was impressed with how quickly Brian identified the issue, it couldn't have been more than 30 seconds of looking around. Once he identified the issue he walked me through the next steps of what to expect, include cost and and estimated time. They were very professional, polite and considerate given the water leak and the damaged caused. Once the job was complete, Brian walked us through the action taken and made sure all of our questions were answered. It was a as painless of a process as possible given the circumstances.

Never in my life have I experienced such horrible customer service. I was told by the foreman that I would be getting pictures of the damage so that I could forward them to my insurance agent so that I could submit a claim, that was weeks ago now and still nothing. On top of that they completely destroyed my backyard and I was told they would be back within two weeks to clean it up and that was weeks ago when I was finally able to talk to a manager there was nothing really done to make it better other than that just saying we will eventually be out there and will call you the day .They wasted no time at all taking the full payment meanwhile as far as I’m concerned the job is not even complete.Worst customer service ever.

I had an emergency situation at my home which prevented me from using any of my bathrooms. I call and they were at my house within 2 hours. The technician was knowledgeable and friendly. He quickly diagnosed the problem and within an hour we had the problem resolved. I had to shut water off to my entire house due to hot water heater hose leak. There was a freeze warning that night so I called. The lady made an appointment for the next day between 10a-2p. I'm glad my pipes didn't freeze. At almost 2p a lady calls and says the repair worker will be there in about an hour. She was very rude when I told her about the appointment. The guy comes about 245p. I had already repaired what I thought the problem was. He agrees that was the problem & didn't know why it was still leaking. He left for almost an hour to get another hose I already replaced. Puts it on. Still leaks. All the time he's making me run around and turn my water main off/on. Says he'll charge me $1500 if he has to do it. Finally figures out the hose under the one I replaced is leaking. Puts my hose repair back on and leaves for 30 minutes to get part to repair other hose. Repairs the hose. I turn the water back on. He charges me $485 for both repairs and parts. Then took the hose he charged me for. At this point I have missed work. I go to take a shower. NO HOT WATER!!! I check everything and he didn't turn the power on at the breaker box! I'm more than furious about the whole thing!! If I have a tsunami in my house I will NEVER call roto rooter again!!!

The first technician that came out was so fair and honest. Our hot water heater had to be drained and for him to sit there for a couple hours while it drained would have cost us a lot. He offered to come back next day and fix our problem while my husband could drain the tank. He quoted us a really fair price. Next day they send out another tech who has no idea what is going on and he is all mad at the other tech who quoted us a low price. He leaves and the nice, fair guy comes back, fixes our problem but says he is going to be reprimanded for giving us a low price. Wow. Just crazy. He was so nice and fair and did a good job and i had to worry about him getting in trouble. The other tech was crazy. He was bad mouthing the company. I was glad when he left.

Amazing. My kitchen sink was clogged in such a place that it was very difficult to do. I accepted that we would have to spend thousands trying to remove our wall. Turns out, we didn't have to! Christian Overfield, service tech 3775 was outstanding. Give this young man a raise! He arrived a few minutes sooner than expected, saw what the problem was, went to Lowe’s to get the part, came back and fixed the broken pipe under our kitchen sink. The office staff was great as well. Our first phone call to Rotorooter to Christian completing the job was less than 90 minutes. Doubt if he was even in our house for 20 minutes total. Other plumbers told us that early the next week would be the soonest they could come out. Not only did our kitchen become functional again, incredibly quickly, we even got to Happy Hour early! 10% off for donating two canned goods for their food drive was just an added bonus. Highly recommend.

Called Saturday evening regarding a main drain clog and was assured someone would be out in the next four hours to help. Waited until 11:30pm only to have them call and tell me that the plumber’s snake broke and someone will be out tomorrow (Sunday) between noon and two. On Sunday I had a gentleman come and try to sell me cleanup services before the job was even fixed. After I told him no repeatedly I called Roto to see what was up with the timeframe. They said they’re super busy and someone will be out but couldn’t tell me when. Called a couple more times at 4, 6, and 7:30p only to be told that I can reschedule again for a 10% discount or someone will be out today. Absolutely poor customer service and their time windows mean nothing... would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

The tech was running late, but I received multiple calls during my appointment window providing a status. Thank you for keeping me informed and letting me know that you hadn't forgotten about me!!!!! My downspout drain issue couldn't immediately be resolved due to large roots infiltrating the pipe, but I appreciated that the tech provided me with a range of options and even scheduled the appointment for me to have a tech with a camera come out to check out the extent of the issue. Although I was ultimately able to resolve the problem myself, I was very pleased with the professionalism provided by the tech and dispatchers. Our sewer line began backing up so we called Roto Rooter to come and assess what was going on. While they did give a big window (9-1) they sent me a text 30 minutes prior to the arrival of the technician. Called Roto Rooter about a nasty kitchen drain clog. Response time was excellent and appointment was set immediately. Technician, John Gleason #1482 was dispatched. He was courteous, explained everything that was happening, why it happened and how he would fix the issue. Sorry for the long post, but it was a long night to get our heater replaced.We had our 16-year-old 40 gal water heater leak (not fixable) one evening this past week. Roto-rooter gave us a 2-hr window in which someone would come to assess the issue and discuss estimate for work. Sure enough, I was contacted by our repairman about 30 minutes before arrival, which was on time. Our repairman was friendly and appeared knowledgeable about the work to be performed.However, he was inconsistent in providing his estimates, which he appeared to guess. Over the course of the night he provided 4-5 different numbers (spanning at least $200 difference). We discussed 40 gal vs a new 60 gal (we are going to add a shower to our home), but decided the 60 was too expensive, and to be fair we almost didn’t complete the repair so we could get other estimates, but he did offer us a discount. Our repairman left and when he returned with a replacement water heater, it was 50 gal, not what we discussed. The price he offered for the larger water heater was very similar in price to what we expected to pay for the 40 gal, so we proceeded with install. The repairman did admit that he had confused electric vs gas (ours) cost when giving us a verbal quote. All in all, we believe we paid a reasonable price, but the process felt haphazard and it was stressful. We feel we paid more for convenience of quickly getting our water heater replacement, which had several features we were unfamiliar with. We didn’t get a great run-through of how it functioned (it was past midnight at the time install was complete), and relied on paper instructions that came with the product. So far, so good, it seems. We’re really just grateful to have a water heater again, and in the end, Roto-rooter got the job done.

This is my first time using Roto-Rooter. I was very satisfied with the service from the initial encounter of scheduling an appointment to the actual service technician that came to the house to fix our kitchen sink drain. The technician was very patient while I called my husband after he gave me the quote of price for service. I appreciated the fact that he was not pushy and was very polite. Eric did a great job of explaining the problem and fixing the problem!

Roto-Rooter has done several jobs for us. Most recently a new water heater. I like how easy it is to schedule an online appointment and still have quick turn around. Scheduled at 1 am online for an 8:00 am - Noon appointment the same day and the service tech was out by 9 am.The plumbers are professional and quick. We have had them do main drain cleaning, kitchen sink plumbing and today a new water heater and main water line shut off valve. All top notch.

Bobbie was fantastic. I called at 8, they were on site by 10. They had to replace the entire hot water unit, including returning the old one to get a new one and completely fix what someone else put in wrong. He was quick and efficient, and it still cost $600 LESS than what was quoted. And he really worked hard with us to get the manufacturer to replace it. They went above and beyond to be safe and get the job done. Couldnt be happier.

Chris B. and Joe came out to my place within 2 hours of my request! I had a leaking outside spigot and they were able to come fix it (even in this awful cold weather, sorry guys!) Kind of pricey but the job would have been about the same cost from another company and would have been over a week out. Very friendly and professional! Our sink drain has been severely clogged for weeks. We have tried everything to fix it ourselves, but we have had no luck. Tonight, I called Roto Rooter to schedule an appointment to have it fixed. I was prepared to schedule the appointment for next week or even the week after. I was incredibly thrilled when the operator told me she would have a technician at our house TONIGHT by 10:00 p.m. I asked her if there would be an extra charge since the technician would be coming after hours, and she assured there would not be. Roughly 10-15 minutes later, I got a text letting me know the technician would be at our home shortly! This was a full four hours BEFORE she told me the technician would arrive! I was thrilled! Aaron arrived at our house and was immediately friendly and professional. He assessed the situation, and let us the cost for the service up front. He even let us know of a coupon that was available for us to use. Aaron was professional, friendly, and efficient. He was honest with fixed our problem quickly. He made absolutely no mess at all! We called at 11:00 after calling a company who wanted $150 just to show up. The service agent was very courteous and efficient. Someone called back at 11:35 to let us know that a technician was on the way. Jason was here by 12:15, did a GREAT job, made recommendations to us to prevent the issue from happening in the future, and was walking out the door by 1:25. I wish that he has cleaned up a little better in the utility closet but, other than that, service was awesome and I would use them again!

The initial quote was far higher than the competitors advertised pricing. Once the competitors discussed the fine print, all prices were roughly the same. I chose Roto-Rooter because even though I didn't like the initial quote and sent him away, they were upfront about their fees. Ultimately, I called back, they dispatched Brian to my residence and he was thorough and professional. Issue resolved, no mess, and very personable.

Roto Rooter has saved us twice in the last 2 months. They came out quickly to replace our broken water heater that leaked all over, fixed the way it was set up and got our floor cleaned up quickly and efficiently. Our tank was broken when the new floor was put in and Roto Rooter came out within hours to fix it properly again. So very thankful to finally have a company we can trust to do the job correctly at anytime of the day or night, weekday or weekend.

Great service.I had a slow drain kitchen sink and called up a handyman to fix it. To my surprise he just knew, the basics of what i knew and he left advising me to call the professional and clogged the kitchen sink further.So I googled and found this Roto-Rooter plumbing and drain service which provided 24/7 service. They send an expert in an hour.The technician was John Gleason #1482. Not only, he resolved the problem in half hour but throughout the process of unclogging he educated me what the problem was and how to maintain the pipes clogged free in the future. He was extremely thorough in cleaning after the procedure . Didn’t feel like someone came in and left. He was a thorough professional.I am extremely happy with the service that Roto-Rooter provided. Quick response and prompt on time and excellent professional service. Would never go to any provider.Roto-Rooter’s will be my plumbing doctor forever.

Do not use them, the plumbers who do the work are scamsters and will lie about the job so as to charge you the most, they do not even do the job properly so they can charge you for a second visit. We have apartments in Columbus that were blocked and backed up, called Roto Rooter and scheduled a call out, 1) They never came so I had to call the next day and schedule another call out. 2) When the first guy came out he went to the most expensive option (water Jetting) $991 later and cleared the drains one of our tenants told him about the mess inside, but he did not go in and check, instead he left. the Tenant told me that the drains were still blocked, so I called Roto Rooter, was told its under warranty, he came out again and then charged me $400 to clear the drain that should have been completed in the first time. I rang head office and spoke to a Manager Rob, who assured me that he would resolve it and raise a credit for me, told me he would call me back, which he has not. I rang 3 times and left messages but they will not return my calls, so I am never going to use Roto Rooter for any of my 23 buildings ever again, and highly recommend other people to go else where also.The company has short term views and clearly only want to rip people off, and this goes all the way to the managers.

I called and made a appointment the other night , they gave me a scheduled window for the next day between 5 and 7pm , no problem. I called at 545pm just too make sure I was still on the schedule , I was told yes . Well needless to say 720pm came still heard nothing from the tech , so I called . Dispatcher said well they called you , and you didn't answer. Really, when I'm waiting for a call from the tech when his in route I'm pretty sure I'm going to answer, plus knowing I left work early just to make sure I'm home waiting , Then the Dispatcher wants to then say , oh we can get someone too you in a Hour , thanks but no thanks , that puts him here after 830pm and I get up at 430am. I'll find another company that is dependable and will truely call when in route and actually show up .. My opinion, but Roto Rooter may wanna roto rooter themselves because they appear to be full of , well you get the picture

My kitchen sink was clogged and I had tried to repair it on my own to finally have to cave and call in help. Christian (5891) showed up within an hour of my call to fix my drainage problem. He was polite, courteous and he didn't push for any unnecessary work. I am more than pleased with my experience with this technician and grateful for the repair. The only negative remark I have is that the cost of the work was much higher than I anticipated or feel is reasonable. Overall, Christian fixed my issue timely, answered all of my questions and had a wonderful demeanor.

Our water heater died on a Friday night and we thought we would be stuck until Monday. We called Roto-Rooter Saturday morning and not only did they come out that morning, there were no extra charges for weekend/after hours. Brian was our technician and he replaced the water heater and installed a pan with a drain pipe that leads right to our sump pump. No worries about a future flood...like we had with the old heater. Outstanding and highly recommended.

Our kitchen sink and dishwasher were backing up late one night, and we were able to call after hours and get someone in to fix it within only an hour. He gave a free estimate on the spot, which was awesome. Then he was able to find the clog, clear it, and he even tightened the fittings and replaced a cracked seal on one of the pipes. Great experience overall.

I had never used Roto-Rooter before and it was a really great experience, from calling in my service request to the prompt, courteous service provided by my technician, Stephen. I had let the dispatcher know that I had a crucial meeting to attend and needed to leave my home by a precise time and the dispatcher made sure that my technician would meet me at my home at the time I requested. In fact, Stephen was there earlier than I expected! His work was efficient and done in no time. He answered my questions clearly and courteously. He and the dispatcher are great representatives for Roto-Rooter and I will definitely spread the word to family and friends. Thanks very much!

We just want to preface this by saying my fiance had to call off of work, and now work longer days and use PTO because of mistakes made by this company today. We have to cancel our appointments later this week too because of this screw up.Here is a time line of what happened:8:15-9 AM someone came and fixed the sumppump and told us what they thought was wrong. Great they got here first thing in the morning, but would have also appreciate a 30 min heads up like they said. They did a great job so that is the only reason why the extra 1 star is warranted. They recommended that they get a camera out here. The original person said they wall call the camera people and we should hear back between 12PM-2PM.3 PM- no call from anyone. Fiance calls the company, gets transferred around 4 different people and was told that the person with our information is away from their desk. Was told we will here back shortly from someone.5 PM - still no follow up call. I called the company and the person was very unsympathetic and did not apologize for anything. Was told the camera people weren't even in today and couldn't provide any reason why no one followed up. Only answer I received was I guess it was miscommunication on our part. We asked when someone would come and they said they don't know so we would just have to sit and wait .I then spoke with the supervisor, and he said he will let us know why this all happened. All he was able to do was just get an ETA on arrival and that was it.At this point, we just canceled our appointment as this was very unprofessional and very poor customer service. If we were living paycheck to paycheck, this would've been detrimental. I will never recommend or use this company again.

What a nightmare! We are remodeling our second floor so we're down to using just our first floor bathroom. The toilet backed up and could not be contained Tuesday night. I called around 7.30p and got a call back at 8p that someone would be there in 30m. No one arrived until 9.15p but I chalked it up to the snow storm. When the tech arrived, he told me that he left his binder with all the cash from his jobs that night at the last residence and he had to go get it before he could do our job. He was gone for two hours but what could we do? We didn't have a functioning toilet in our house! He was in our home until 2a and did not fix the problem. He said his supervisor would be out at 9a the next day (i.e. in 7 hours). At 9.30a, I got a call that someone would be onsite by 11.30a. They had no idea that I had been promised 9a. A supervisor did come out and cammed / remedied the situation. He was incredibly apologetic for the previous tech and said he would send someone back out with a machine, presumably to double-do the job and make sure we were all good. The next tech arrived promptly this morning but that was the only good thing I can say about him. He was incredibly short and rude with me. He cranked on our basement sink with such force that I couldn't even turn it off. He said that he didn't have a work order, didn't know why he was here, and didn't have anyone to call to get that information. He wanted me to remove a dog gate from our stairwell and, while I was trying to figure out how (it's an installed fixture), he grabbed it and started pulling on it, leaning back with his full body weight, which could have damaged our home. He seemed absolutely manic and was starting to make me very uncomfortable. He was loud and erratic enough that one of the construction crew who was working upstairs, came down to see if I was okay. I finally just asked the man to leave my home. I had to ask him 4 - 5 times after that, before he stomped out and slammed my front door so hard that a picture frame fell off of a table. Knowing what I know now, I would have dug a hole in the back yard and waited for Eco Plumbers to be available before using this company. Never ever EVER again!

We had a sump pump failure during a heavy storm where there was significant flooding in the area. We called several plumbers and Roto-Rooter was the first to have someone available to help. The person who came was fantastic... very professional, friendly and efficient. While it did feel pricey, we didn't attempt to compare prices of other plumbers. This was an emergency and their quick response saved us from having a flooded basement.

Had a plumbing issue that occurred late Saturday evening, called Roto Rooter Sunday afternoon after several failed attempts to fix the problem myself. They came out the same day, even though they were a few hours late they kept in constant contact with me by providing status updates. Their technician was very polite and personable and was able to fix the problem rather quickly allowing us to get back to life as usual. I would definitely use them again.

I called and got an appointment same day. Originally was given a 4 hour window, but they called and dispatched a plumber within the hour. The plumber was very pleasant to work with. Very knowledgeable. The plumber had two options, and tried the more affordable first, which ended up working. He said if he had to try option two we wouldn’t be charged for the first option. They warranty their work. I will call again if I have plumbing issues.

I had a great experience with rotorooter today. They were at my home for about 2 hours to clear out my main drain and they were both nice, professional, and seemed experienced. Once they were done they showed us a cleared portion of the drain with a camera and some small issues that we will have to deal with sometime into the future. So that's nice to know what problems we will have to face in the future as well.

We had a leak inside a wall. My wife’s worst fear is water damage, so she was not doing well. The folks at Rotorooter were very professional and helpful. They called with updates, fixed our issue the same day on a weekend, and were all friendly and competent people. I cannot recommend them strongly enough. We have had them do other work too and they always do a great job. Writing this review was literally the least I could do to thank them.

Roto-RooterRepresentative Brian did a excellent job fixing my outside Water hose pipe. It burst and water went everywhere inside my basement. He was very knowledgeable in the repair and he was very quick in fixing the problem. The labor was a little extensive but was worth it because of the piece of mind that fixing the problem gave me. Brian was here about 15 minutes and was off and out the door.Thanks Brian!

I had a blockage in my sewer line on new years day. I called and they arrived at my house in 1.5 hours. I was amazed how quickly they were able to get to my house and fix my line even though it was a holiday. The tech was courteous and professional. My only complaint would be the price, however you get what you pay for and I was happy with my service.

I had a water softner installed that I supplied. I was charged $600 for two hours labor. I wanted to refuse the service but I needed this done. Why is your labor cost so high? Is that what your plumbers charge everyone for all service? I live in Lancaster ohio, I called Roto Rooter in Lancaster to make appointment. It occured to me after the plumber left that he works out of columbus. Why did that happen? Is that why I was charged so much?
