Ajax Plumbing and Water Leaks

I submitted a request for repairs and was contacted within 45 minutes. They were able to send the plumbers out within a couple hours. Plumbers were courteous and gave me what the cost of services would be without a pressure sale. Agreed to have services done...it only took them an hour and I'm happy with the work they did. Would use them again for plumbing needs.

I called for help when my outdoor faucet broke with the cold spell. I am a senior and live alone. I talked to my son in law and he told me if it was just the faucet he could probably fix it but could not get away from work until the following day. He told me to ask whoever showed up if he thought it was an easy fix so my son in law could do it. Although the man that came seemed very nice he told me that it could be an easy fix or it may turn into a big problem because the pipe was so close to my brick wall and if it was done wrong they would need to break into the wall. Although he did not pressure me to have him fix it I went with what he told me and to save my son in law any headache I told him to go ahead and fix it. I went inside and not more than 10 min he knocked on the door and said it was fixed. He charged me $250. It was the day before Christmas eve so I gifted him a little bag of homemade cookies for coming within an hour . On Christmas day my son in checked the work and told me the faucet could have been purchased at lowes or home depot for $10! He was very upset because he said I was overcharged and he felt the man knew it was an easy fix and could have been nice enough to tell me. It is really sad that older people get taken advantage of. I am on a fixed income and that money could have been put to better use.

They do measure once cut trice.I don't have time to describe a total fiasco they pulled on my property for thousands of dollars.I am looking to do everything all over again.Unprofessional unequipped and don't stand by their we guarantee done was done about 4, month ago. Pictures show hom much dirt wasn't packed back in by their contractors and also the pipe with sitting water after their we guaranteeWaste of money and time.

I thought they did a good job until water starting leaking thru the ceiling. We used them thru Nations Home Warranty. They replaced both our water heaters. Apparently they did not install the water heater expansion tank correctly. All they needed to do was add a Tee nut and it would have been done correctly. No support cause stress on the copper tubing. to crack and spray into the drywall UPSTAIRS. Since the sensor is on the drip pan it didn't go off. All the drywall will need to be replaced, as well as the expansion tank. The tank alone is $450 out of pocket. Fortunately we caught early enough or it would have destroyed our scraped hardwood floor.They also replace a dishwasher and when I had the faucet replaced I was curious why they didn't connect the air gap. Apparently when they replaced the dishwasher it had a dedicated air gap. So this too was installed incorrectly. I have had a toilet fixed that now makes a lot of noise when flushed. The only other thing they have done is replace a jacuzzi tub motor. We don't use it so I have no idea if it was done right or not. Buyer beware if you aren't up to speed on all things plumbing you may not be getting what you pay for.

Website indicates they do drain cleaning, sewer repair, they do not. This is third time to our home in one year, the first time the installed water heater, second time was drain cleaning for water sewer line. Those times plumber arrived in a vehicle marked as Ajax Plumbing, He had the app or device to accept payment. This time plumber arrived in a white, unmarked beat-up van, with nothing to indicate Ajax Plumbing. Equipment was old, problems with snake/auger machine, he had to fix equipment before he even started work. He said our plumbing line was clear and the problem was in the main city line. He gave written receipt with insufficient information for us to provide to city. We called Ajax office, in order to get a detailed summary of work done, we had to pay the bill. Payment was done by phone. Brian was the person I spoke to and he transmitted the summary of work done from a different phone number. When I researched the phone number it is in area code for Virgin Islands. City of Kirby utility department came to our home after Ajax plumber was finished. They checked the line with a camera, found the blockage is in our line, not in City main line. Called Ajax and was than told they do not clean or repair sewer line, we should contacts sewer engineer. I asked about the phone number in Virgin Islands, he said his son is helping and that was his phone number. We will report as fraud. Something has changed at this company and it is not good.

Had a backed up sewer line, SAWS required a plumber to come out and locate the blockage. They performed the job quickly, located and marked the blockage. I will use them again in the future.

Toby Martinez helped me with a free estimate and even beat the quotes of 3 other plumbers. I ultimately chose Toby with Ajax and I am very happy with my decision. He told me everything I needed to know about the installation and what he would do to make sure it was done right. He was quick with the install and had everything up and running in no time! I highly recommend Toby with Ajax and will be letting all my friends and family know about the great service that was provided to me.

Kitchen sinks were clogged and would not drain. Tried baking soda and vinegar, it bubbled but water wouldn’t drain. Jimmy from Ajax arrived in the early minutes of their estimated three hour window. He was masked, pleasant, very helpful and showed us the clean-out valve under the sink was seeping. He was careful when the backed-up debris in the pipe was released as he opened the clean-out. Jimmy was courteous and did his job efficiently and well. Very pleased with his Saturday solution to our nasty problem.Thanks, Jimmy!!

We contacted Ajax to install a temporary sink while our kitchen is under construction. They were incredibly friendly and easy to work with, and did a great job. Their quote was also very reasonable.

AJAX was the first to respond to our request for a quote. They were also the only team we ended up needing to hear from. That’s because they were professional from the minute they arrived— until they cleaned up and left. Toby and Dillon were excellent. They assembled our faucet, water lines and drain perfectly. They hooked up our griddle to the gas line. Triple checked for any leaks. Installed our vents. And made sure we were happy with the work every step of the way. We truly are very thankful for their hard work and fair price. We’ll be keeping AJAX in our contact list for future use. Don’t hesitate to call them for your plumbing needs as well.

Third Visit: As always the crew was friendly, pleasant, and competent. We had them replace our water heater, which is no fun in this old house for several reasons. They looked at the situation, went out to get a replacement tank, returned and wrapped up the job in just about four hours total. It would have been three hours except the water drained from the old tank very slowly. Efficient, clean, and organized. Ajax has become my go-to plumbing company.Second Visit: This crew was the only one available from any company same-day. They showed up in short order, looked at the problem, and went right to work. Really nice guys, efficient and had the job done quickly. And they cleaned up afterwards.

Took 2 weeks, 2 Fridays no one showed up, the diggers they used dumped a lot of dirt in my yard instead of under the house, they started dumping it before they were though filling the hole so how did they know they might not need it, so now this 70 year old man has to move it before it kills the grass, ,l called Ajax and they said they have used them and they have done a job but no one from there came to check.

Quickly found the problem and identified the solution, luckily the issue is SAWS responsibility so they will finish the job. I will call AJAX again when I need plumbing service.

Came in, provided quote, and completed the entire removal and reinstallation of our water heater in 4 hours. Very difficult installation and not surprisingly some damage occurred but was immediately identified with a handyman arranged to repair without me having to bring it up. Very much appreciated that professionalism!

The guy from Ajax showed up and only work for 20 min and said he couldn't unclog the washout. He said the plumbing is broken and never suggested to put hydro jets in the plumbing to push everything out. So I was the one to bring it up and said he was going back to the shop to get it and charge me 150.00 for just showing up to put a snake and never come back nor accepted any of my calls back. TERRIBLE service. I will not recommend Ajax to no one.

Ed Romero came over and worked hard to fix my problem. I had low water pressure in our master bed shower. Hardly any water coming out. He came in and changed out the shower valve. It was a challenge since my home is a older home(1962 built) but he was a total pro and knew what he was doing. Ed was friendly and easy to talk too. Very comfortable in his presence. I recommend Ajax plumbing and Ed to someone who wants the job done right. They offer free estimates which is great.

I needed to have 2 outdoor spigots replaced. Ajax phone dispatch was very polite and efficient at all points of communication, their service people are extremely informative and did not try to upsell. In fact, their service tech talked me out of a more expensive and risky repair and suggested a less expensive and less risky way to fix my problem. Ajax paints a very nice picture over the phone. I had them install a back flow preventer and paid over $900. I then got the city inspector to look at new preventer and they told me it was the wrong valve and the wrong size. I feel taken advantage of because I have no knowledge of sprinkler system but I should have check Ajax out first, my bad.

Shrub roots had grown into our pipes near the clean out in our front yard. We got many bids which were astronomical until Ajax Plumbing came along. They did a beautiful job in replacing and repairing this area, filling it back in, and going the extra mile to run a snake down our bathtub drain as well. I was very pleased with my experience with Ajax from booking to finish. Our water heater went out, so we had no hot water; not an emergency, but a major inconvenience that you would like to have rectified quickly and easily. I booked an appointment for the next day, and when the guys came out, they were very polite and professional and SUPER fast. I had my new water heater and updated fixtures installed in less than 2 hours. It wasn't cheap but seemed in the ball park, and having hot water back on that fast combined with a really great experience seemed worth it to me. Had a lead from the upstairs, as water was leaking through the garage ceiling. Tim answered and later sent Ed out. Ed called me and said he was going to have to cut some holes to find out where the leak was and said it would run me $475. He didn't cut any holes under the upstairs bathroom but replaced the wax ring on the toilet and was leaving, when the tenant that lives there told him there's still water dripping. So, this time he cut 3 holes, two in the garage and one inside the laundry room. This not being anywhere near the bathroom where the wax ring was replaced. He calls me again and says he found another leak and now the cost will be $675. At this time, I was unaware of the wax ring on the toilet as the tenant told me all this after he left. He fixed the pipe leak, and I called Tim the next day and explained to him that Ed replaced a wax ring for no reason, then charged me another $200 for doing what he should have in the first place. He did refund me $100. The next day the pipes leaking again! Ed comes out again and does fix the leak, but breaks a stand with 4 shelves. I have yet to hear anything. Really disgusted with Ajax plumbing. Would not use these guys.

I neede a hot water heater installed. Called around several places but Ajax offered more bang for the buck. Mr. Romero arrived and got right to work. Installed new hot water heater and hauled off old heater. Mr. Romero and his helper did good prompt job. Very happy with service.

They would not come back out and repair the pipes that they initially repaired, even though I was given a year warranty. I repeatedly contacted them within the years period but was never able to get them to come back out. Had to hire another plumbing company to fix the damaged pipes that were in stalled by Ajax plumbing.

Younger male a schedule appointment with was very polite. they did not arrive for their scheduled appointment and very rude when I called to inquire. Older lady on phone was very rude. I cancelled their participation in my project due to this lady's complete lack of customer service.

Ajax is always great! Not only are they about 49% cheaper they always have a plumber out within 24 hours. Saved me on a water main break on labor day weekend and do not charge fees for emergencies. I highly recommend!

This company was awesome from the second they answered the phone. I called them after reading the glowing reviews on Home Advisor. I called them late on Tuesday and Brenda and Tim were great with answering my questions and giving me a fair and reasonable quote over the phone. They had a technician at my house by 1 the next day which happened to be right before a major holiday. Tino and his coworker were great. Very professional and courteous. They explained everything and answered all of my questions. Within a couple of hours, I had a brand new hot water professionally installed by a company I can trust. They cleaned up the work space and left everything perfect. They are a smaller company who has been around for 60 years who did the job right and treat the customer right. They have earned my business going forward!!

I have used Ajax Plumbing several times and have always been pleased with the work completed. Tino is the Serviceman who made the repairs. He was very professional, respectful of my home, and always gave me an estimate of the repair cost before work is done. I highly recommend their service .

Date of service was 8-21-20. The issue was a toilet clog. Although their customer service was excellent, my experience with the work and diagnosis from the service person they assigned was not. After their service person came in to run a drain auger without success, he diagnosed the issue to be roots in the drain, and that we would have to have their specialists dig underneath our home to replace the pipes at a cost of $3K+. Since this was an unexpected cost, we decided to get additional bids and thank god we did. As it turns out, the next company did a thorough inspection (with a camera) and was able to fix the issue via a hydroscrub, for a bit more than we had been charged by AJAX to run the auger. For this reason I called AJAX back to let them know what happened. For customer service, I would give AJAX a 5.0, because their Manager/Owner (Noah) called me back, listened to my complaint, apologized and was willing to refund the money we paid. He recognized his service person was wrong. All I can recommend to anyone out there is to always get a second opinion and to do your thorough diligence and research.

George and Jimmy from Ajax Plumbing did an excellent job with a very difficult situation with my old faucets. They were able to locate a faucet that would actually work when it seemed that I might need to totally replace the sink in the kitchen. Ajax Plumbing Service and Supply is an extremely professional amazing plumbing service provider. They are more reasonably priced than many other plumbing service providers that I received estimates from. They came out and gave me an estimate, and did not charge. They returned, fixed, and replaced my bathtub faucet. They did an excellent job. At the same time, they replaced my outside front hose bibb. Later they inspected and drained my hot water heater for an extremely reasonable price. These people are honest, professional, and I trust them. That is saying a lot coming from an experienced cynic. I highly recommend this business without any reservations.

I would not give them a star very poorly service they have a guy name Will not very good on his job he put some piping n its coming undone charged me $250.00 which they installed a water heater n I still do t have hot water in my house left the job undone n wanted still more money.. this man works very poorly on the job I would not recommend him at out he would get sodas from a fridge I had outside without me given him permission from my household. I needed to replace my toilet found Ajax Plumbing on the internet. Very satisfied with them. The workers were very polite and did a great job. Tino explained everything I needed done. The work was done quickly and they cleaned up very well too. Highly recommend them.

Only made me pay for what I needed, whereas a competitor with a catchy jingle sent a salesman along with the plumber and suggested that I needed to replace EVERYTHING ... which had contradicted what the plumber had just told me seconds earlier. Don't be fooled by flashy TV commercials, AJAX is now my go-to plumber! Just schedule by phone, however. I didn't receive a response with my online request.

For those rare faucet and shower parts you can't beat Ajax. They've been there like forever. As soon as they see the part you bring in the staff know the brand and have them in stock. The prices are competitive and sometimes beat the big box stores.

The repair service went better than I expected. I developed a water leak at 5 pm the day before and had shut off the water to the house at the street. I called several companies that evening and received no response. Not knowing what to expect the next morning, I received a call from Tim at Ajax Plumbing Co. He gave me an estimate of their starting price and it seemed reasonable, so I made the appointment. Within twenty minutes, Tino and Ricky pulled up as I was digging in the ground. After locating the leak, Tino offered me a very fair price for the repair and they began. He explained the cause of the leak was due to the sharp 45 degree angle connecting two pipes being stressed by the surrounding tree roots. I could tell he was very knowledgeable as he did not just replace the leaking part with another 45 degree angle. By utilizing two 45 degree angles and a piece of straight pipe, he was able to make the connection with much less stress on the pipes. Both men are very experienced and pleasant to work with. They filled in the hole and even cleaned up the mud on the sidewalk left by the homeowner. Tino and Ricky are outstanding members of Ajax Plumbing Co. I would recommend them and Ajax Plumbing for any future plumbing problems.

They started a job to fix and replace our kitchen faucet on 12/20/22. They fixed the leak in the kitchen but caused a leak somewhere else that I had to fix myself. Today they finally replaced the faucet. They failed to call me each time the plumber was scheduled to show up. I wouldn't recommend this company.

Hired company to fix tub faucet pressure. Water was coming out in weird not strong stream. Replaced a part and charged $200 for 30 minutes of work. Did not succeed in fixing the problem. I complained and he came out only to tell me this kind of faucet will not have as good a stream as my other bathtub. Could have told me that before taking my money. Money wasted. Would not hire again.

This was my first time using Ajax Plumbing Service and it could not have gone better. A Flume device I’d installed a year ago alerted me to a gallon a minute leak. After looking inside and out and finding nothing to indicate the definite source of the leak, I sought the name of a reliable plumber, this after having had very costly bills from a firm I had used several times in the past. From the initial call with Brenda at Ajax to the successful repair by Will, I felt that I was in good hands. What initially seemed like it might be a leaking connection beneath the laundry room turned into a broken connection a foot or so beneath the surface along the house. Will worked on it for several hours and even through lunch, not content to quit without solving the problem.Will was polite, considerate and kept me informed throughout. He did a masterful job. Ajax now has another satisfied customer, one who will be sure to let others know that Ajax is the place to call with plumbing needs.

Michael came out after I had already been rear ended by Home Warranty of America and another plumbing company. Michael was super knowledgeable, he walked me though everything he was doing. He went above and beyond and even spoke to my wife over the phone to make sure she’d be happy with the water temperature. He didn’t rip me off and made my plumbing problem very affordable right before the holidays.I’d recommend him to anyone, a thousand times over.

This was a very unusual experience since the first time the company put our water heater in with some design issues. Since then though they have returned to fix the problem and the job was done professionally and it was done right. Ricky was amazing in his install and Mike both as they corrected the mistakes and we could not be more pleased. We will continue to do business with them simply because of the employees.

I called to get a quote on adding just an expansion tank, was told it would be 250. As soon as the plumber arrived, he immediately starting tell me additional work I needed, which I didn’t ask for or want. He then proceeded to argue with me about my inspection report and how I could get sued if I didn’t fix everything on it. Once I told him I was a licensed realtor and I wasn’t paying for that and knew the law he backed off. 10 mins later he was done with the expansion tank and asked for 350. He explained it needed some additional things so we settled on 300 but I still felt ripped off.Fast forward a few days later, the hot water in the kitchen sink wasn’t coming on, then my wife told me the plumber made her turn it on to flush the line when he was doing the expansion tank. It was clear something (later found out it was plumbers putty) from the expansion tank clogged the line to the kitchen sink. The office was extremely professional and nice and sent a guy to fix it. Different guy and within 30 seconds of walking into my home he proceeded to tell me other things I needed to do to get my house up to code. After arguing again about the real estate laws I know, we moved onto the sink. He noticed hot water wasn’t coming on and said I needed to replace the entire faucet set and he would have to charge me! I said your plumber caused this and he replied no he didn’t, things happen randomly all the time...it literally happened at the exact moment he told me wife to turn the hot water on. All that being said, after arguing that I wasn’t going to pay for anything he told me the problem was the cartridge and it was very difficult to find so bc of that I needed a new entire set. So he left without fixing the problem they caused. Later that day I took apart the hoses connecting the sink and wow, full of plumbers putty from the expansion tank, cleaned it out, hot water problem solved.It’s a long winded review but as a realtor and consumer, I would never recommend this company, they have high pressure sales tactics trying to make up fake rules and laws to get you to do work that is not needed. Move onto other must trustworthy companies.

Took a chance on Home Advisor with Ajax and I'm glad I did. Great communication, excellent customer service, and most of all the plumber Tony was fantastic. Replaced the PRV for $325 including parts and labor.

So I scheduled an appointment to get my drain unclogged for Monday and they called the Friday before saying they could send a guy out Saturday. They came as scheduled gave me a quote for the work. He apparently didn’t have the right tool so he went to get it, got set up and 5 minutes later he was packed up and leaving. Said his machine was broken and I should call another company to do the work. Wasted my Saturday morning. Very unprofessional

Visited the location on a recommendation online. We needed a part that was hard to find and were told this place had all kinds of parts and pieces for older plumbing and it was our best bet.I will say hes very knowledgeable, he knows his parts and problems with different models. But customer service could be worked on.We visited with the part in hand and sure enough the owner had a few items he said were a match. We described the problem we were having and he told us this was sure to fix it. The part wasn't cheap and was laying loose with no package, but he said it was cheaper than replacing the entire faucet and that the part was new. He also made out like the sink we were repairing was a high quality sink, but it was a low end brand that was 30+ years old.After installing the part we still had the same problem as before. At this point we didn't know what else to try, so I called the store and told him the faucet was still leaking and he told us there was nothing else he could do. I asked if maybe the part he sold us was bad, he acted as if this was impossible even though it was not in a package, and then proceeded to tell me he would be doing us a favor if he allowed us to exchange it since it was now used and I cant sell it.I returned back to the store with the part, exchanged it for another one and left. To make a long story short, I ended up replacing the whole faucet. Contacted Ajax Plumbing and spoke to Tim on Friday 19 Feb about our busted water pipe. He sent Tino to us at 12pm the next day (Saturday 20 Feb). Tim called ahead as promised to let us know that Tino was on the way to our home. Tino did a great job, quickly discovering the break in our cold water copper supply line, explaining what was needed, and making the repair. Took about an hour from time of arrival to completion. Tim and Tino were polite and professional. Very grateful to Ajax Plumbing for their fast and professional service!

The gentleman that was working was able to not only find the parts I needed, but explain the issue in my 75 year old home.They had everything I needed (Lowe's and Home Depot did not). My only issue was that when I arrived he was talking to a lady and her kid in the back. I had to wait about 10 minutes for them to come up front and assist me. The lady and her kid came up front too, and kept distracting the gentleman until they left.After that it was all great!Will use this store again for sure!

Great customer interaction with Tino and his helper. Same day service from quote and cost was reasonable for the job. Tub/shower conversion to a stand-up shower. Done within half day. Left the area clean and free of cement dust from excavating the shower floor to move the drain to the center. I did notice after Tino left that there was cement all over the top of the PCV drain fixture that comes apart for the waterproof membrane to seat. He assured me it was no problem, but my tiler disagreed. I noticed after plumber left that the drain seemed to be set a bit too low and was not entirely level. Called my tiler who came over immediately after I sent a photo of the drain installation and he dug it out from the still wet cement and raised it somewhat higher and leveled it. This type of plumbing really needs to be done in tandem with the person doing the tile work because every contractor does things a little differently. Great experience though with Ajax and I recommend them highly.

These guys gouged me close to $600 for changing one pipe next to the house (exterior) and the creation of one hole under the kitchen sink- no repair made. Promised to come the following Tuesday and completely disappeared. Avoid if possible, they are bad news. Never answered the phone or returned calls. No stars if possible.

Spent a couple of hours at other locations with no success on what I needed. When I call Ajax Plumbing they understood what I was searching for and had it in stock. They were very helpful and had great customer service. I plan on going to them first for any future parts or services.

They have done plumbing work on our house twice. The last time they repaired a leak outside the house that was about 4 feet deep and replaced a outside faucet. The only thing I had issues is that I wish the faucet was more stable.

Called to inquire about whether they carried a product in stock. The employee was rude and suggested I go somewhere like Home Depot. When I said Home Depot and Lowes did not carry the product I needed he rudely spat back that he had no idea what I could do. It sounded like I was wasting his time. I asked if there were any online stores I might be able to reference and he blew me off again with yeah, I have no idea! Customer Service is seriously lacking. I definitely don't feel comfortable purchasing my plumbing materials and supplies here or referring friends and family to this establishment.

NO STARS!!!I went there on Christmas eve knowing that they were suppose to close at 7:00. They told me at 4:00 when I was there that I needed to have the old part and as i left to go home to get the part I asked again what time they closed and was told 7:00. When I returned just at 5:00 they were closed. I knocked on the door as did another gentleman that was there after being told they closed at 7:00 also. The inconvenience of running home and coming back really mad me mad and was very unprofessional on their part. So I won't be shopping there again..I really doubt that they forgot it was Christmas eve.PS. When I called there in the morning to ask if they were going to be open the man that answered was rude and saidWell this isn't a recordingis it? I should have known then not to shop there but it was the only one that was suppose to be open on Christmas eve until 7:00 which they were not!! I'm giving one star, only because I'm not sure I can leave a review, otherwise. This man was rude to me from the moment I walked through the door and I couldn't get one word in. I needed seats and washers for my bathtub fixtures and couldn't bring the seats with me. I thought I could look at the available parts and buy a few that looked right, based on 20 years of buying these things for my failing plumbing. This was the only store open on Sunday, so I drove clear across SA in the hopes of at least temporarily stopping the leak. I had taken two steps into the store and had barely said hello when he demanded to see the parts I had brought. When I tried to reply, he cut me off. Each time I tried to speak, he raised his voice and cut me off again. After several attempts, I turned to leave, at which point he yelled, I'm getting the stuff! I'm getting the right stuff! I just said, Nope, and left as quickly as I could. It might be a gender issue. I'm guessing he's used to talking to women that way, but I work too hard to let my dollars find their way into that register. Ladies, steer clear! (And buy spare parts, for those times when your plumbing decides to fail on a Sunday!) Hope my lengthy review helps.

Went in on Wednesday, and was quoted $800 to replace a hot water heater, this morning when I went in was quoted again $800 for repalcement, but when they called me to confirm their price went up to $950. Was told by the the employee over the phone that we never discussed a price, which we did.

Drove around the whole city checking plumbing supply stores for a specialty gas line before I was referred to AJAX and sure enough they had it. Was in and out in less than 5 minutes and probably spent more on gas on my search than the actual part. Keep in mind the part sells for $48 on amazon
