Best Custom Plan in Phoenix AZ

Having observed TWD during their painting operation of the Sun City Grand Administration buildings, I requested a bid from them to repair and paint the exterior of a local church sanctuary building including several other amenities on the premises. They not only were they low bid but were available to meet our schedule and work around the church services. They cleaned up the premises daily before leaving at the end of their work day. The daily workers and superintendent were very professional and were eager to provide extra touch up work in order to try and blend in areas of poor stucco work previously done by others. this was done at no extra cost. They insisted that we do multiple walk throughs so that they could address any concerns we might have missed. I will recommend them again for any future repair and painting work.

John and Team revamped my old shower into a fully tiled and glass shower of my dreams. They are great to work with and very responsive. From the demolition to the finished product quickly and the pricing was extremely fair for the work done. Mike is super and making sure the customer is happy at all times. Holtzman estimated its team would begin work on our project in May 2022, with a ‘conservative’ estimated completion date of October 2022. (Timeline was important to us because our first child was due in January) did virtually nothing over the first three months; employees visited the site 6 times during that time period. Work did not begin until September 2022, after we expressed concerns to owner and assigned a new superintendent; at that time, owner estimated December completion. It is now mid-January and work is ongoing. We brought our newborn home to a rental and have no idea when we will be able to return to our house.
We went with Holtzman because of their online scheduling/calendar tool. This tool is supposed to allow the client to (1) get a sense of what is happening when, in terms of the overall project timeline and (2) know which tradesmen are coming to the site on which day. It did not deliver on either account, as the calendar is almost never kept up to date or filled out more than a few weeks into the future. As far as the overall project timeline, we asked superintendents and the owner for a project schedule at least 20 times. The most we got (verbally) was a tentative date. As far as knowing when specific tradesmen and inspectors would be there, people would show up when no one was scheduled (including an inspector who needed a $300 check), or, conversely, we would make sure we were available only to have them not show up. The lack of scheduling was not just inconvenient; it had a big impact on the project itself, because no one seemed to be ensuring various jobs were being done in the correct order. Work had to be undone/redone, wasting everyone’s time.
We hired a residential architect to draft detailed plans for the home addition. Plans were signed off on by mechanical, structural, electrical and plumbing engineers, as well as the city of Phoenix, which permitted the project. The Holtzman team had full-size copies of these plans at the site. Various Holtzman employees and subcontractors repeatedly disregarded the plans, creating a cascade of problems. There are too many instances of the plans being ignored to list them all, examples include (1) discarding an electrical panel that was supposed to be relocated and installing the new electrical panel in the wrong place, affecting where the HVAC unit could be installed (2) installing the primary kitchen window 2 inches lower than indicated, jeopardizing ability to install outlets and switches where indicated (3) building master bath ceiling at wrong height (4) ignoring instructions to slope the slab under the new master shower, later requiring the slab to be redone, and so on.
After repeated attempts to work with our first superintendent, Joe Clark, to resolve concerns about lack of progress and poor organization and communication were unsuccessful, we asked Joe to coordinate a meeting with company owner Brandon Holtzman. He misled us, setting a meeting with Brandon for Saturday at the Holtzman offices. After showing up for the meeting, we found out that Brandon was out of town and didn't know about the meeting. Joe showed up late and we questioned him about Brandon’s attendance, Joe started yelling at us to “Get the f-ck out of here (the Holtzman office.)” He then followed us out as we got into our car and continued to stare at us as we left. Brandon was apologetic about the incident and assigned us a new superintendent, but it was still jarring. Under the second superintendent, the team left our property completely unsecured one day: front door unlocked, back door left wide open, side gate left open, keys to home left in construction area, and lockbox left open with correct code displayed. When we expressed our concern, the superintendent blamed us for not living there at the time (despite being strongly encouraged to move out during bulk of the demolition and construction phase) and told us he “never signed up for being the gate keeper.” Our third and current superintendent, Cory, has been one of the only redeeming aspects of working with the company.

The first estimate from another popular place I won't mention sent a guy out that just seemed bored with his job and I didn't feel like he was listening to a word I was saying.
The second one from yet another place sent out a guy that listened, but didn't seem to know what he was doing.
So glad my third one was Trinity.

I can’t recommend them highly enough so before you decide to go anywhere else go see them, you won’t regret it.

I contracted with Maxum to be the General Contractor for a total remodel of our recently purchased 2,750 sq. ft. home. A 75 day project is currently at 112 days. The end date is at least another 20 days away.
Every week there is a change in supervisors, laborers and sub-contractors. There is absolutely zero consistency in project progress. My wife and I have often acted as GC with workers looking towards us to provide direction.
As cheap as possible seems to be Maxum's mission statement. This has resulted in delays, redos and very intense disagreements as to how to move forward. Maxum has caused extreme anxiety for my wife and I along with unexpected costs for temporary relocation and for day to day living expenses.
The remodel results so far look very nice but only because of our very active role as designers and quality control managers.
This job did not need to be this painful. Maxum provided no concern for our input, promises made or common sense direction. We believe that our job was Maxum's first project based upon their total mismanagement of planning, product procurement, customer relations and day to day supervision and direction of employees and subcontractors.
If I were to start fresh, the contract would be much more specific related to project details and materials. I would also have included penalties for missed progress dates.

Stronghold Remodeling brought our dreams and ideas to life. Trevor’s attention to detail and positive attitude was a joy to work with. Remodeling projects can be very stressful, however, not with Stronghold.

The Owner, Van Hansen, has assembled a top-tier team of professionals that are there to help from the beginning dreams to the final walk-through. For example, we have greatly benefitted from Stephen Yeoman's architectural expertise and practical knowledge as to how all the pieces go together and understanding our family's use of the space. He has allowed us to explore lots of various ideas, including some crazy ones, while always mindful of the practical effects of our choices and the budget. The interior design team, led by Kathy Molnar, has equally been fantastic, guiding us through the myriad of choices of cabinets, countertops, flooring, etc. She definitely helped us match the colors and materials with our existing home, personalities and the way we will use the space. There are a lot of moving pieces in a large kitchen remodel, and Republic West has assembled a one-stop shop that has helped us from the early conceptual ideas, to architectural design, to permitting and construction. We could not have done it without them and are happy to endorse and recommend Republic West Remodeling without hesitation.

I worked with Bri who did an excellent job designing my mid-century modern home. She made the process easy for me by not only designing but by coordinating the art, installation, trades, and work to pull off the design. Definitely 5 star work and service.

I seldom post reviews, but my experience with Scott and Lorrie was so good that I had to post this review.

After being locked inside for a year due to the pandemic, we just couldn't stand our house anymore! So we decided to remodel the whole thing. Lorrie worked with us for two weeks coming up with a design that we absolutely loved, and Scott and his team made it our dream with so little fuss or mess, it was unbelievable. They even finished the project sooner than expected. We now love our home again. Thank you!!

Our whole house remodel was completed on time and within budget – wow!

Jayson, at Mill & Stone, listened carefully to our wish list, then designed a plan that honored the quirky features and floor plan of our 70-year-old house AND modernized it perfectly.

Throughout the 3 month design process and another 3 months of reno/remodeling, Jayson ensured permits and inspections were done properly, problems were solved quickly, subcontractors were on time and did excellent work, and we were always in the loop.

We moved in last week and are delighted with the design, the materials, and the feel of our home. When we’re ready to begin Phase 2 (outdoor work), Jayson will be our first call.

D&D construction is the best General Contractor we have ever worked with in two states and five houses over the last fifty years. They are honorable and professional and will do whatever is necessary to make the job right and to the satisfaction of the homeowners. They stand behind the work of their subcontractors and will take on any job large or small. We would give “the Boss” Dion Horton our highest accolades and a ten in overall performance.

The Hunt brothers did excellent work. We enjoyed working with Josh and Jeff to produce beautiful kitchen and bath remodels. They were patient, customer-service oriented, and always remedied any issue we came up against. We wouldn't hesitate to work with them again. We have gotten lots and lots of compliments!

Premier did a great job on our recent Mst Bath remodel. Can't say enough about how great of a job they did from prep work to cleanliness through completion. The tile work was exceptional. So happy we used them and will use them in the future.

Promised to get back with a quote for a design, never did. Do what you say you're going to do, don't lie to people. It's not that hard.
